He remembers being a student in Caliphs and the excitement he got from finding new lore and the smell of chemicals in the lab, bit he doesn't remember being clumsy enough to sustain burns to his face. And his left hand is a ruin of scar tissue (foul brand drawback) that seems to move of its own accord, drawing itself into shapes that his mind pulls away from. ![]()

The man is a cockroach.I walked into to work this morning and cried. Everyone I passed on the streets of Camden and Islington were shaking their heads and muttering about "what have they done". The leave campaign has been run on misinformation, outright lies and playing to fears. Promises of £390m a week extra public services plastered on campaign buses and it took all of what, an hour and a half before Farage's smug face was wheedling out of it "Nah blud, never said it" but nigel, it's in massive letters on yo..." "but mate i was ostracised from the main campaign". I feel sick to my stomach.

I have frog God account and my files are not on it. That plus I bought fire s she bears and had to rely on Tim making the actual ships useble. ![]()
![]() Played tonight. When your gaming group is 3 players, 2 entirely new to RPGs, I didn't expect them to spend an hour and 15 minutes (real, game time) sat at a tea stall in a bazaar talking to Mistress Henna (from Cat & Mouse). Xashenka the Oracle passed her sense motive to know Henna was withholding information and cast Abadar's truth telling. Henna faked she was under its hold and now the party believe her outright.
They have entered the Perfume District and made easy friends with the money lender, in exchange for information they said they'd recover the money owed from Raheed. En route to the laundry women they were spotted by enforcers of Yusef the Jackal. A realllllly brutal fight ensued. One street thug fled the scene to inform his boss of Nuh and Dallah's whereabouts. Cue home made chase cards! The cornered him in the middle of a sacred cat herding, Dallah is mortified at the sacrilege but relieved Yusef doesn't know exactly where they are. ![]()
![]() We didn't end up playing in the end. We've scheduled to play all day Sunday instead. What did happen was character background changes to tie everyone together. Nuh now the fled son of a wealthy merchant family. He's fallen on hard times and been muscle for a crime-boss. Dallah has implicated him in hir escape and now he's on the lamb with Dallah and resents hir a lot. Dallah was sold as a slave to the Bastet temple. Groomed to be be a concubine spt sent to the Mharoti Empire when ze found out about it they weren't too happy and fell in to a spira of Pesh use. Has been the go to courtesan for the crime-boss known as The Jackal. Xashenka is looking for the embodiment of a prophecy and has been through a few past livesm she believes that Nuh fulfills it and her previous reincarnation found him and was drowned before imparting the knowledge to him. Krasue couldn't make the session. I'm building an obsidian portal and will update it regularly when we start playing. For now here are the written backstories ![]()
![]() My first session is tonigĥt. Playing with two friends who have never played Pathfinder before but are super keen.
Dallah "Hammauh" al-Nuas - Elfmarked, Eunuch, ex-Slave, Bard with a homebrewed Temple Dancer of Bastet archetype) Xashenka - Samsaran Oracle of the Heavens, spirit guide, says they are from distant Cathay) - new player Nuh Ath-Halitath - Djinnborn of the Talmashek, Bloodrager (Air) - new player Starting off in Per-Bastet, they all have a reason to be there and a reason to leave quickly and without notice. We're starting off with Cat and Mouse with one of the rewards of delivering the Grimalkin Eye is being smuggled out of the city and onwards to Piracy (or whatever takes their fancy) ![]()

![]() Nightmare Lord Dream it is, had never seen it before. I'll swap out Shadow Evocation SLA for Mass Suggestion. I think I'll go for an Aranea rather than a doppelganger. Setting a web of deceit and lies and having the Dream Slave be a trustworthy, upstanding member of the community who brings them fresh victims. The Dreamweaver is a good idea but I think I'll increase the sorcerer spells on the aranea rather than give witch levels. And the Addiction Devil (I hadn't seen that either) will make an appearance at some other time! One of the PCs is a spoiled ex-Temple Dancer who is still hooked on Pesh... after an encounter with an addiction devil will they be ruined or be finally clean of it after defeating one. ![]()
![]() I asked my group today what they wanted to play and gave them the choice of Hell's Rebels, a Southland's campaign or Pirate campaign. And it looks like they want to do a mash up of piracy and southlands. And they liked the idea of rebellion. And Kingdom building. Damn them. So my current idea is to base them in Mhamet and use a combination of Freeport and Port Peril to fill it out. Changing as needed to make it more Corsair Coast and Free Islands of Tethys-y. I'll add in Razor's Coast too using one of the cities of the Spice Coast for it, size wise Kerala is close. I'm going to make it quite sandboxy and I imagine they'll want to sail up the coast to places like the Sultanate of Shibai to sell plunder and possibly doing some more plundering! I haven't got a clue what I'm going to add to it other than Razor Coast, and some Freeport right now. I've got three A4 pages of adventures written down that *could* fit. Haven't been this excited for a game in a while so thank you! ![]()

No lazarx, the idea was that "we'll assume that I'm actually talking about a composite character of Lovecraft himself and the various protagonists of his literature." But I'd still go for expert! ![]()

![]() It's good, they keep up to date with releases and are fairly responsive to bug fixes. They have great volunteer contributors who make third party material and add-ons/adjustments, a good number of third party publishers are getting on board. It can get a bit expensive though. You get the core rules and some extra bits (AP material, PFS etc) with the main pathfinder data set. Then you buy other datasets for $4.99 and they have 4 books each and are split into campaign books and companion books. Ultimate Magic. Combat, APG, ACG, UCamp are separate data sets as are the bestiaries. So it adds up. BUT they are putting a ton of work into it (I tinker with the editor and it takes agggges to make something). I don't even really notice now as I have all the data sets. When a new one comes out I think "three quid? That's less than a pint, and I'll get more enjoyment out of it". ![]()

It is specified that the only way to dissolve the bond is through universal solvent so I think that trumps it not specifying it being immune to acid. Drinking Sovereign Glue should be a death sentence. I think the main issue arises from allowing prestidigitation to disguise the smell, taste, flavour and viscosity of Sovereign Glue which I feel is outside the bounds of the cantrip. ![]()

I've never used XP in pathfinder - you level when the story says you level. And that might include one PC levelling a little earlier than others for doing something particularly amazing/suitable. 3.5 was a bit different because of the XP cost to create magic items ![]()
![]() I would have actually said that Cheliax fits the '¬Spain' of Golarion best in this instance. It's an empire, it has the same-ish location on the inner sea as Spain does to the Mediterranean, it has the same dark reputation that Spain during it's imperial days garnered (La Leyenda Negra) and more to the point, it has a colony in Arcadia (Anchor's End). ![]()

![]() Will this book contain information on the Eldest? It was asked on the first page but I far as I can tell wasn't answered. I'm asking because on the Reddit AMA yesterday I saw that The Eldest were listed as one of the "not going to be revealed" secrets of Golarion but later on James Sutter went on to say he was" detailing the Eldest right now". That makes me think that, no, the Eldest will not be in this book as printing deadlines have already passed a looooooong time ago I assume. But...any information at all? I have a player who has the Lantern King as their god. At the minute we're only one session in but they -will- want more information and with Inner Sea Gods just around the corner I could hold off on writing my own until then.
