I've been away for months and months.
I've logged on to ask if these models will be available unpainted, or of the paint they come in can be stripped easily without losing detail.

Why would you opt for pre-painted?! Surely it's more expensive, and I'd imagine more players would want unpainted models.

Scarab Sages

The Focused Weapon advanced weapon training allows the fighter to treat one weapon as the same base damage as a warpriest's sacred weapon

Scarab Sages

Unchained rogue can get 1.5 Dex with a two handed weapon at third level.

The vigilante talent lethal grace: use strength to damage with finesse weapons but also half level to damage.

Looking at the Ravenous Curse I can only see that you get blood drain at the end

You're looking at the hunger curse. Ravenous is 3pp.

If I decided to take the Pale Master class, I would do some work with it to bring it as close to the pathfinder format as I could, which wouldn't require that much really. I've seen the pale master class recommended a lot in a lot of necromancer guides, which is why I got interested in it in the first place. I do like the play style of the necromancer who sends in his undead and then shoots spells from the back lines more and one getting up into the front lines. Also, I just like the flavor of the Pale Master because my necromancer is (secretly) on the path to Lich-hood. I think What I will do is take my wizard to lvl 7 so I can get a psuedodragon to use wands and deliver touch attacks and then take the 5 Agent of the Grave levels and then go into the Pale Master class levels. Thoughts?

Agent of the Grave first and then Pale Master sounds good. Pale master isn't amazing and you lose a caster level but it's super thematic. If you have access to Libris Mortis be sure to take the corpsecrafter feats as well as Fell Drain and Fell Animate feats (and magical lineage trait to apply fell drain for free to one area of effect spell!)

How are you going to have a pseudodragon familiar though, they're neutral good and require a NG master. An on the way to lichdom necromancer doesn't strike me as NG...

Scarab Sages

If third party is acceptable then in the Gothic Campaign Compendium has the alchemist discovery Aberrant Mutagen. It grants two tentacle attacks (your arms turn into them though so can't weld weapons) and also has Extra tentacle discovery which can be taken at 6th level and once again every 6 levels for a total of 6 tentacles at 18th level.

My Strange Aeons character is going this route!

Cory Stafford 29 wrote:
13d6 sneak attack at 20th level is by no means game breaking. At that level you have casters with 9th level spells and barbarians hitting for 200 damage a round.

But it's certainly not bad!

If you have Tanagaar's greater boon and greater sniper goggles each (ranged) sneak attack die has +4 damage to it. So minimum of +65 damage to each hit in addition to strength bonus and enchantments and bane and wrath spell etc on a sanctified slayer.

Scarab Sages

Evangelist of Tanagaar isn't valid sadly. Deific obedience is needed for Evangelist, empyreal lords have their own feat and prestige class (Mystery Cultist)

Scarab Sages

Hi, I started a subscription over the weekend for Strange Aeons (late to the game). Am I only able to download once it's been shipped even if it's available to everyone now?

I forgot all about the summoner, I think they'll like that.

So I made a Master Summoner with the eidolon being a trap-finder/scout as we don't have one.

Good morning!

I finally get to play in a campaign after GMing for eternity. We'll be playing Strange Aeons.

I've already got my character (Vivisectionist using the Aberrant and Aquatic mutagen discoveries from Gothic Campaign Compendium for body horror fun).

We also have an Exposed Vigilante (Warlock) using talents and feats from N Jolly's legendary vigilante and a Human Incanter (SoP) who's going to be focused on healing and buffs.Psychic

I think we have ranged damage covered (warlock), decent melee (natural attack alchemist), good support (incanter) and we're fairly good for skills in general.

My friend who's fairly new to the game has asked me to help him make a character. In the last game (and his first) he played a bloodrager and he says he found it boring to just hit things in combat, so steering away from melee. At the same time they're fairly new to the game so I don't want to many moving parts.

3rd party is available for use.
20 point buy
Core races, human preferred.
Thematic for a horror campaign

I was thinking that we don't have a full spell caster so maybe a psychic or a sorcerer but I just don't know.

Please, help me out

Scarab Sages

It's what I was going for! (I haven't had a chance to play for so so long so I'm really looking forward to this AP)

Scarab Sages

I'm happy this era is over as I was never interested in the fiction and making space for more game content is great. But I'm also said for those who will miss it.

Although, I just realised something; how is he going to study a painting/sculpture/etc well enough to forge it? Especially if the real thing's on the other side of the continent? Reproductions won't be close enough to the real thing for forgery (a good authenticator is going to be looking at the individual brush strokes while someone making a reproduction that's going to be sold as such probably won't care too much about matching it that precisely).

EDIT: Or should I just try to find a trait or feat that represents perfect recall? It's a bit of a cop-out, but it's all I can think of.

If you're homebrewing anyway then the autohypnosis skill in Dreamscarred's psionics has Memorize as a function (DC 15 skill check to memorize a page of information).

A Cryptic also feels like the perfect class for a forger.

I find the idea of approaching an art lover who wants to acquire a piece 'by any means' offering to steal the piece and then selling them a forgery appealing. Getting paid twice, once for the risk taken in carrying out the theft and again in delivery of the artwork.

Works especially well if the target of the theft is tight lipped - your employer will never know it wasnt really stolen.

Scarab Sages

Agent of the Grave. No necromancer should be without it

Scarab Sages

Ar there any plans for ranged vigilante support? Talent for shot on the run like the ones supporting spring attack. There aren't many ways to play a Green Arrow/Hawkeye vigilante at the minute - trick shots, mobility, a way to get snap shot etc.

Scarab Sages

So Exposed Vigilante with Mystic Accuracy and Genius Vigilante is what I've always wanted and never known.

Scarab Sages

I've made some annoying comments by mistake using my tablet to read. I've now made a copy of the page and I'm copy pasting into herolab (I've got the talents and social talents working insofar as i have all the prerequisites and feats granted working but I've not got things like Bloody Empowerment up yet)

Scarab Sages

There are talents that explicitly reference, and have as prerequisites, talents from Spymaster's Handbook - I'm pretty sure they've read over it....

It's not even remotely obvious that people with a dementia should not have political influence at all.

There are lots of dementias (~110) and they affect people at different ages, progressive at different rates and affect different aspects of a person's life. Merely having a dementia doesn't make someone somehow incapable of making a decision. You think a 50 year old with frontal lobe dementia affecting their impulse control should have no political influence at all? "demented" isn't a word you hear very often outside of insults and I find the implication that people with a dementia shouldn't be allowed to vote insulting.

I'm wondering if the referendum could be a weather balloon to see what would happen if the UK did leave, followed by a "just kidding, nonbinding, Government chooses not to leave" if it went sour.

Or is that wishful thinking?

It's not legally binding but it's 99.9% going to happen.

Hi there,

Is the sword dancer fighter archetype in Southlands supposed to have a way to use dexterity to hit?

It gains dex to damage with scimitars at 5th level but no way to gain dexterity to hit with a scimitar (weapon finesse doesn't work and taking dervish dance makes the 5th level ability redundant)

Scarab Sages

The Empyreal Lord, Bharanol, the tempered inventor might be worth looking at as your starting deity. Neutral good so they can have paladins and they're very focused on invention and innovation

Scarab Sages

I'm away from boos but advanced weapon training is definitely not a class ability it's a feat...i just can't check if it's a [combat] feat.

Scarab Sages

So, my campaign is still going strong, players are super invested in the campaign.

but I have a rules question...

Is the sword dancer supposed to be able to use dexterity to hit with a scimitar? I can't see it anywhere.

Weapon finesse doesn't work with a scimitar normally, and if they took the Dervish Dancer feat then the Deadly Artistry ability at 5th level is redundant (well, they'd get 1.5 dex to damage for two hand use but...)

The requirements are:
Deific obedience feat, being within one step of your deity's alignment and one of casting 3rd level spells or bab5 or 5 skill ranks. If you meet that then any class can be an Evangelist.
