Mayhem goes a bit stir crazy over the voyage. Idle hands are the devil's playground, and he plays all manner of sophomoric pranks on various crew members. Strangely enough, the captain seems to have earned an exemption and is only affected as collateral damage. Fortitude save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 As the ship exits the Drift, Mayhem's form shifts for a moment. Over the course of a minute he slowly pulls himself back into his familiar form. "Work release. Its better than the alternative, but only just." Mayhem shrugs, not really making an effort to remove Mallura's hand from his arm. "Besides, haven't you heard? I've been rehabilitated. Mayhem, caught in a moment of indecision between his natural reaction to authority and his self-preservation instincts, hesitates. As Lih strides in to the docking bay he smirks at the speech he delivers to the security guard. I guess that they're comparing the size of their male reproductive organs? Lets see how this plays out. Mayhem puts his hands up and lowers himself to sprawl on the deck plating. "Mr. Triggerhappy, go ahead and shoot somebody who is actively surrendering. Like I said, it'll be your funeral."

You might want to check with them before hassling us. Oh, hey Verne. Yeah, lets go see what sort of rust bucket AbadarCorp saddled us with." Mayhem then blithely walks past the security officer toward the ship. Without turning around to check to see if J.D. or Verne are following, Mayhem continues talking. "I'm not much of a pilot. Not much of anything really. Though if this thing has a peashooter I can give as good as we get."

Discrete but noticeable. These were the words that popped into his mind when he regarded the two AbadarCorp security officers which flanked him. Their armor was barely noticeable under their crisp uniforms, and if you weren't looking carefully you wouldn't even notice the slight bulge where their holdouts were concealed. Their lapels sported a golden key pin. He sighed. You've been caught, so you'll need to play nice for a while. He tried to distract himself from his current predicament by looking around the docking bay. #42. One of his keepers (he hadn't bothered to learn their names) pointed to a nearby ship. "Criminal 46257, your period of indentured servitude begins here. I will remind you that your contract is enforced by the divine will of Abadar. There will be consequences should you break it." Simultaneously they turned on their heels and walked back the way they had come. Nice trick, that. He sighed again and shrugged off the memory of those impersonal hands guiding him. He shuddered almost imperceptibly at the thought.

I mean, look at how Pathfinder taught us to be ready for swarms... ;) I think that comparing Starfinder to Pathfinder in this regard is a false equivalency. In Pathfinder (at least PFS) you have enough gold to maintain your offence and defense and have some left over for contingency consumables or interesting items. Conversely there never seem to be enough credits in Starfinder (at least in SFS) to keep your weapon and armor current, let alone stuff that you might need. A backup sniper weapon or area weapon to deal with swarms will be woefully underpowered against on- or above-level threats (see Save the Renkrodas).

Congratulations everybody! Though I thought Geoffrey Peart earned his 5th star in August. Also, the survey doesn't seem to be working for me (it just reloads this page). I'm using Chrome if that matters.

Sorry for mucking up that data; I simply wasn’t aware it was being compiled and tracked. Sorry for being petty, but sometimes I can't help myself.
I'm not sure who user 'graypark' is, however their data integrity seems off. For example, they have marked down that they have GM'd and played every Season 0 scenario in core (which wouldn't be unusual, except that the retired scenarios are also marked, and I find it hard to believe that they were able to GM a retired scenario in Core, unless 'graypark' is a Paizo employee).

I would strongly discourage breaking the rules, especially since it creates a situation where players will cite your breaking the rules as precedent and encouragement for other GMs to break the rules. As written, fusion seals take 24 hours to attune. Until there is a FAQ or erratum, that is how the rules work whether it makes sense to you or not.

This was a painful process for all involved, but I look forward to to continuing my service to the campaign as a VL and making PFS the best it can be. Over the last week I've been in communication with the gaming director of Raleigh SuperCon, to offer 15 tables of Starfinder Society alongside D&D Adventurer's League. I'm also continuing plans to bring the AtomiCon Mini model to the rest of the triangle, with the first Retail Support Con scheduled for September 28, 2018 through September 30, 2018 at Event Horizon Games.

I would love it if it was reworked to track the actual number of times replayable scenarios were run/played, but I think that should be pretty low on anybody's priority list.
Tallow wrote: For the record. Without really knowing the situation as to why you felt it necessary to do this, my first thought is, that this was probably a bit of an overreach. That being said, I've done this before myself at the request of a VL who felt their VC wasn't cutting it, so they would have some information more than speculation to send to Mike. Even if this was completely an overreach, I do not feel that the punishment fit the crime. It was reported to me that the affected VO had not run a public game since September 2017. I verified that fact. There were of course other issues reported to me, but this was the one fact which I could personally verify.
I just want to offer a small clarification about my "investigation" (I personally like to call it an inquiry, as investigation implies a lot more active effort than I put forth). The extent of my examination of the affected VO's play history was scrolling to the bottom of the session report and noting the date of the last reported GM session, which I then included in my report to the RVC. I did not look for any other data about the VO.
This is the reason I was given for my firing. First, let me thank all of those who posted supportive and positive comments about me in this and other message threads. I really appreciate it. I have shared my perspective on the events which transpired with the Venture Officer staff, omitting any details which I feel may impinge on any affected persons’ privacy. While in the future I hope to be able to explain myself more completely, I will state in my own public defense, that all actions which I undertook were in direct response to complaints from players in the Charlotte area who had previously sought relief through the proper channels available to them but found none. I cannot see how I violated any Paizo policy, nor do I feel I did anything morally wrong in any of my actions. I attempted to help solve a problem which had persisted in our region for several years using the tools that were granted to me by Paizo. I wish there could have been a different, less drastic, resolution for the Charlotte area. However I have hope that the player base will heal and be stronger going forward.
