Juriya offers a handshake to Fosyo, "Well, you can contact my family at their alchemy business for further details, I'm mostly acting as the messenger here. I have to help with the massive liquid ice shipment still. Seriously, who orders that many," she trails off as she leaves.

Stealth (Fox): 1d20 + 7 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 8 = 33
Disguise (Fox): 1d20 + 11 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 11 + 10 = 31

Juriya then goes and hides somewhere where she can't be seen, transforms into fox form to catch up with Donimah out of view of Fosyo, and then transforms back into human form whenever it's possible to keep the transformation hidden. Then, she checks around each and every corner for signs of everyone, and once well and truly alone, she sighs.

"Donimah. Look. I admit my family may have some problems with Nethys, but we aren't the kind to deprive someone of their magic. Two of the possible solutions we offered are far too exorbitant for Fosyo to afford, and the other is a literal trap that we can use to discredit her," she says as she offers a polite smile. "Hopefully we can get this nonsense over as soon as possible for Ano's sake."

Juriya menacingly glares at Donimah, as she might be giving away details of the plan to deal with Fosyo. "While it may be correct that it's impossible to take the magic out of a mage, it is possible to suppress the magic's effects, or its activation. She may be overreacting if she is, indeed, a follower of Nethys; a lack of magic to his faithful is akin to a death."

Agh, here's hoping she hasn't caught on, she thinks to herself.

Got really invigorated to RP lately, sorry for the amount of posts

More venom spitting from her throat, "We'll need to... discuss whichever solution you choose. And Donimah is far from the worst our family has seen in regards to thirst for the arcane. Alchemy can certainly be dangerous as well, given the amount of those whose specialty is poison. Both my parents neglected that area of study, so as to be much more palatable merchants. We can still defend ourselves when necessary, though."

Bluff (Secret Message): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 Juriya then stares at Donimah with an innocent smile, as if to say don't worry, I have a plan to blackmail Fosyo.

At Juriya's Home

"I'll bring this up with my parents; secondly, what in Daikitsu's name is the c" Juriya dejectedly says as she continues looking over alchemical texts she had been looking over.

Her parents, however, are visibly disturbed, and Juriya has lost all control over her emotions at the point "What?! Does she not know how utterly difficult it is to strip someone of magical abilities? What's next, they MOVE TO ALKENSTAR or something just to placate that delusional old bat's fantasies of a perfect daughter?"

The mother, the one focused more on diseases, herbs. and anatomy then bomb-production and alchemist fires, however, decides to chime in. "If Fosyo really has gone so far, we could use potential blackmail to expose how she treats her daughter. I remember reports of an organism that could calm those it effects and drain them of emotion. If Ano's altered state is what I believe it is, a bloodrage, then...", she says as she trails off, grabbing scattered notes and tomes around the household. "I'm... actually in agreement," the father says, "Fosyo has gotten more and more protective of Ano lately, to a concerning extent. Maybe we need to see how far this protection goes," he finishes. The three of them sit down to research and write a letter concerning bloodrages and the... questionable means to stop them.

Letter to Fosyo:

Dear Ms. Clovermark. There is more to being an alchemical merchant than merely Alchemy. We do not believe we would employ Ano to do any of the alchemy, but we will not refuse her the opportunity to gather ingredients and help with shipment if the opportunity becomes available. Clumsiness means practically nothing while gathering ingredients, unless you're handling poison.

As for a "solution", to your daughter's bloodrage, there are two differing routes one could take. One simply cannot be done in Sandpoint: cut off magic entirely. A bloodrage is a state of rage caused by stress that is fueled by magic, rather than pure adrenalin. As a result, something along the lines of an Antimagic Field would work, but would need constant renewal.

The other solution is a variety of ways to calm emotions, but most are prohibitively expensive. One would be to constantly let your daughter drink a potion that calms emotions, though this does not preclude casting. That would require a constant stream of money to us, however. We could also procure a certain wondrous item known for calming emotions and ceasing Kellid rage and bloodrages alike. We are researching ways to make such a thing permanent as we write this.

Finally, there's a much cheaper, though inherently more dangerous alternative in the form of a certain infection that would both drain your daughter's ability to cast arcane magic, as well as calming her ability to get angry all together. We would need to have this conversation in private though, given the nature of this "cure".

- Juriya, Kimie, and Shiro Arima

Giving the letter to Fosyo (in human form, naturally)

Before delivering the letter to Fosyo, Juriya sees and witnesses a screaming-match between Donimah and the aforementioned catfolk. She stands behind whatever cover she can, nearly boiling over with anger. If she could rage, she presumably would right now, but she's an Alchemist, not a bloodrager, barbarian, or skald. Once the conversation between Dominah and Fosyo is over, Juriya goes up to deliver the letter.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
"Mrs. Clovermark. My parents have checked with the mages in Sandpoint for confirmation, and your daughter can enter what's known as a bloodrage. It's similar in manner to a sorcerer's abilities, though instead of arcane might, it becomes primarily rage with a modicum of arcane casting. This ability is brought on by stress, anxiety, and, obvoiusly, rage," she takes a breath, and then hands her the letter, before continuing with a twinge of malice in her voice. "As a result, angering your daughter is just as likely," she says with emphasis, "to trigger the bloodrage as needing to defend the village is. The letter should have three solutions we've come up with, but by no means, are they easy solutions. You're essentially asking someone to strip Ano of magical abilities. Don't expect any kind of easy solution to this."

I'd imagine Juriya's mother's a Vivisectionist, so suffice to say she isn't squeaky clean LG and isn't above a little blackmail here and there.

The cockroaches are all singed and burned by the flame, some of them still on fire, as the swarm shrinks a tad bit in size as a few die off. The ooze composed of rust itself slithers its way over to the witch Erryll, "smelling" the metal, as it attempts to wrap a pseudopod around the hand holding the metal object.

Pseudopod: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Erryll dodges deftly the rusty "arm" the creature has created, avoiding whatever damage it can cause, and whatever disease it might invite on the half-elf. Chatter can be heard among the cowering goblins, one of them even says something along the lines of "Should one of us feed the things?" responded by a starsh, stern response from their leader in the form of a guttural "DO YOU WANT TETANUS FROM THAT RUSTY BLOB?"

The rest of you, with the exception of Narl, are up! I'll bot people if necessary.

Juriya spends her day doing the usual, helping out the family alchemy business, as well as checking on Ano as discretely as possible.

At home

"Wait, they're moving back to Magnimar?!" the mother exclaims, nearly loud enough for those outside to hear, while reviewing anatomy texts to refresh her memory.

"Yes, they are. At the very least, Mr. Kaijistu is. If he goes through with it, we should look into converting our glass supplier for potion and infusion glass. The only reason the Kaijitsu glass was even less expensive to begin with was the lack of cost for imports en-masse, right," Juriya announces.

"Mhm," the deep voice of the father says, scratching at the fur of his chin while inside the house. "We'll look into it. How has your attempt at bomb-making been going? You've said you've been practicing."

"Can you see the singed fur? I'm getting close; I could probably rely on it to bust down a door. The main problem is the bombs are too volatile to throw reliably as a self-defense weapon. Anyways, I need to go check on the liquid ice we've been preparing. We got a fairly large shipment request." Level 2 she gets the Bomber Talent.

Once she actually does check on the batches upon batches of liquid ice, all-the-while thinking to herself who even orders so many? nearly ran out of glassware preparing this, she scampers outside through a fox-hole in the door to see what in the world Ano is being so cagey about, as discretely as possible.

Outside of Ano's house.
Screaming, that's was what Juriya heard as she scampered around in fox form to try to see whatever's going on. There's the risk that Ano figured out she has three forms, and that she told her mother, but with how she's been behaving, that's a risk she'll have to take.

Ano wrote:

"LASAI!!!" QUIET!!!

A cup whizzed and shattered at the wall near Ano and Cherry. The bird, being the closest, squawked and flew off to hide in a moment of panic, while Ano stood in shock. Her mother had her outbursts before but...this is different...

"Familia ez al da garrantzitsua zuretzat?!" Is the family not important to you?!

"Ama, calm down!"

"How can I be calm when you're out pretending to be of any worth to this town?! Do you want to end up like your father?!"

As soon as she gets a few lines of what's going on, however, she hurriedly scurries away back to the little hole she's made long ago in the family home and business for when she leaves in Fox form to either get a meal during hard times, or to eavesdrop on people whenever needed. She does not need to be seen by anyone, let alone Ano's MOTHER.

Disguise as Fox: 1d20 + 11 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 11 + 10 = 32
Stealth as Fox: 1d20 + 7 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 8 = 18

A few days later

Back in her human form, Juriya keeps wondering to herself what it was Ano's father even did? She desperately wants to ask, and even if she has not enough common sense to restrain herself, she has enough wit to realize that, given the anger surrounding the situation, it would only lead to more anger. As a result, she keeps her mouth shut tight, but gives a side-eye to Ano's mother occassionally when out-of-view, as if to just wonder what in Daikitsu's name is wrong with her?

Then, she feels a tap on her shoulder. "Juriya," her father says, "Liquid ice shipment is ready; we need you to help unpack," to which she replies "who even needs that much liquid ice?!"

I'm fine with it as a player; this character just leans more into Chaos and Anarchy than all the other characters I've had before (her deity is a literal Protean), so I imagine she'd have a problem with it.

"Games with words are fun though! They always bring out the utter chaos inherent in language. It's ordered enough to communicate concepts, sure but--" she cuts herself off before finishing the sentence. "Anyways! I just wanted to verify what it was you meant, since language is fickle like that, heh."

"Fair point on being a biological computer though. I have an exocortex that I tend to use for combat tracking with the Horizon Striker, and I imagine it's a similar set up. "

"It'd be closer to any other kind of servant, if we want to get into the definitions. They change a bunch, as language does, but slave consistently gets the negative connotation of 'there's no way out and you're forced into this'. Probably not what you're looking for, since eventually a contract expires," Amhesha says with a slight snarl in her voice while looking at about eye-level with the Duergar.

"I haven't heard of any biological or chemical advancements that would make this especially dangerous, so go ahead and feel free to take a blood sample," she says as she holds out her arm. Her hand is entirely covered in white fur, with the rest of the arm having various-sized patches of colorless, white fur here and there, obscuring patterns of spots and stripes.

Slavery, really? Just who the f&## is this guy, she thinks to herself while the Biohacker draws her blood. She contemplates over what kind of circumstances lead to one nonchalantly mentioning slavery. Come to think of it, she barely knew anything about why this Dwarf was essentially a Dwarf with a few Drow traits here and there. Duergar don't seem to be too common in Starfinder?

Noticing the Oras tattoo on Lurian, Ananet goes to comment "Ah, always nice to see a follower of a deity of evolution, be it genetic or linguistic! But anyways, I am Amhesha, and this'll be my first time in the Sun Diver, so I hope to experience its beauty firsthand. I served as part of an engineering team on the Mother's Tongue for 5 years under Lead Engineer Jyshka, before spending the time to be able to be a Lead Engineer on a different ship. So... it'll be a change not having a ship where, quite literally, everyone is a xenolinguist in some capacity. It'll be fun!"

"Also, Lurian, an Ysoki named Nib said hi." she says as she gives a smirk. She's still somewhat getting used to all the names, though, so she's visibly a bit nervous and it's present in her voice, along with, presumably, looking up at everyone along the way except Nib.

Agh I'm always the worst at extremely open-ended things like this. Been procrastinating in the Iron Gods game I'm GMing for this reason.

Having already traded in her old Horizon Striker for a more functional model, along with the modifications to both her exocortex, custom rig, and the rifle, she doesn't have much in specific to do other than help make sure that the group gets Siccatite. So, as a result, she refreshes her Ignan, all the while seeing the details of the Sun Diver that she's been assigned to. She also tries to attend any and all talks she can on xenoarcheology and xenolinguistics that anyone is hosting, as she's not merely just a mechanic. That's just the skillset that tends to earn the most money consistently.

On one of the days in specific, though, if anyone is over her shoulder, they can see snippets of a conversation in Ignan on her custom rig. If anyone tries to read, her side of the message is addled in slang, as is to be expected from anyone worshipping the literal deity of slang.

MothersMandibles: So. Let me get this straight, Am. He idolizes Vesk culture? The ones who do all the constant conquering?
PiebaldXenolinguist: yeah, u heard me right. i suppose it could be worse?
MothersMandibles: How?!
PiebaldXenolinguist: swarm or pharasmins, mostly. vesk at least let the languages live.
MothersMandibles: touche
PiebaldXenolinguist: i have a day or so until we actually head in, tho. youll be glad to know im not security.
MothersMandibles: Almost scared to ask who is
PiebaldXenolinguist: xenobio uplifted bear.
MothersMandibles: What, does he pay for grad school with money made as a mercenary??
PiebaldXenolinguist: want me 2 ask him, jysh?
MothersMandibles: Go ahead. We're about to head out, though. Talk to you after one of our missions ends?
PiebaldXenolinguist: fine by me. routine docu or the rare & elusive "beat a pharasmin senseless"
MothersMandibles: Documenting. See you later!
PiebaldXenolinguist: cya

Once this MothersMandible's last message is sent, she closes her rig and goes back to perusing a recent Common-Ignan dictionary while finishing up a recently purchased meal. "Mmm. Forgot how good real food is. Too long on Eox!"

I'll probably only add the Longarm rounds when everyone is done purchasing their items. Add more to the already 100-strong pile.

Lord Glass speaks up, gesticulating as he does so with his glass-studded armor, “They come to our scrapyard and attack us. They attack longshanks, too. The shieldmarshals think we attack longshanks, accuse us of killing them. But why would we kill when we have so much good scrap around? Makes no sense. All to say: These murderers are bad for business. And as for hiding out, doesn't your employer have somewhere you can scurry off to? We can sell you a few alchemical items if you need, as well. There are a good few of them, especially with our reduced number, north, over the wall. We put up sharp metal to keep them out, blocked their way with the old ship, the big metal box. We shut them out, but they’re still there. Go, make them gone! The easiest way for longshanks to get there is to go east, around the big metal box and the old ship.”

Remember this is a backported 2e AP, so Goblins are far less prone to being murder hoboes. And no, you're not being followed at all, they might be waiting for you at some point, but they aren't following you into a haunted scrapyard.

"Good to know you aren't one of those traditionalists," Amhesha says with derision. "Even if I gained a lifelong passion in xenolinguistics from their asshattery, would not wish the fate on anyone. Ever," she continues. She then turns to Theodore the moment he slights outsiders, with a slight snarl on her face, at least until she remembers he's about twice her size. "Invading forces of outsiders are a pain in the neck; I can agree to that. This will be the first time I'm dealing with any from the Elemental Planes, though. I figured a Frost infusion would work on whatever can live inside the sun, though; so I'm prepared enough."

Hopefully he meant things like Rifti appearing and Efreets invading, Amhesha thinks to herself while munching on falafel, and not just someone born in the Drift giving way to a Prismeni or something.

Amhesha noticably starts choking on her food, laughing, the instant she hears "Falafel". She, all the while coughing repeatedly, uses her Mindlink Circlet to communicate telepahically, "FALAFEL?!".

Once the blockage in her throat is cleared up, she resumes talking with her larynx and not with the mindlink circlet: "I doubt that could be the name, but I need to know the source of the name before I take an educated guess as to the proper name. Unless, of course, it's self-titled, in which case, Falafel is certainly possible."

She then turns to Zharis, after eating a good portion of her plate. "No offense...? Guess you know what Pulonis traditionalists do with piebald kits, then," she adds with a bit of a dejected look on her face, before continuing, "My life's stable enough now, thanks to the money I earned back on Mother's Tongue. Anyways, we can reason out that most of these threats, since they live in the literal sun, are likely to be vulnerable to things like Hailcannons and Frost Infusions. Is that correct from what you've faced so far?"

After she gets a response, she finishes her plate, remarking on how good the cuisine is, before turning to her drink and consuming the rest of it. "Mm. Forgot how good Akitonian food is. Now I want a falafel though, heh."
In my head she's very obviously piebald, with the white splotches everywhere being what mucks with her destiny.

As you hear the crackle of faint electricity and the whirring of gears, you notice the clockworks have been advancing towards the door ever since Erryll pulled out his revolver. The four of you are seemingly caught off guard by the sudden, and readied, drawing of weapons... perhaps Dunsmith really was right about nobody being innocent?

The manager hastily draws her pistol, which was hidden on the premises, and loads it with an alchemical cartridge, and points her pistol at Erryll as soon as she loads. "Draw," she says with a smirk on her face, as she catches you off-guard with her well-timed shot.

Irkem, Pistol, Target: Erryll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Gunslinger-Rogue
Sneak Attack Pistol Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (4) = 5

Meanwhile, two of the investors are close enough to draw and use their weapons in one swift motion, bashing Maximillian and Narl. The one attacking Maximillian makes a snide remark, "Mugland will probably pay us for dealing with you," as he takes out and attempts to strike the Ysoki with a club. However, it merely glances off of the small ratfolk as he swears under his breath.

Brown, Club, Target: Maximillian: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

The other one close enough to strike, meanwhile, targets Narl with the same weapon. He, however, is quite successful in the beating, dealing a decent amount of harm with the weapon he holds.

Purple, Club, Target: Narl: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Confirmation Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Fail
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

The other two investors are cheering on their brothers-in-arms as they rush over to join the fray. However, they don't have any time to attack before the bank robbers do themselves. Everyone else but the four club-wielding investors, the manager, and the clockworks have fled at this point.

Yes, Narl, Irkem is miss Desh, the bank manager. Forgot to state that. Been a week. EVERYONE is up!

I think I'll be fine with it. It just seems like the Spellslinger/Magus combo shoved into one class. Will give you a definitive answer later, though.

I've always been of the opinion that magic is as much a part of the world as gravity. Its absence is fundamentally impossible, at least without changing what the very universe looks like. If you take away matter, spirit, life, and mind, then what remains?

Magic is not "supernatural." It is natural. To be without it, and yet still exist at all, THAT is unnatural in the extreme, implying that you are made of something that the entire universe around you isn't.

I like the approach very much. I'd even say that any anti-magic and borked-magic areas in player-facing settings so much entangled in magic as Golarion are extremely bad idea, bad taste, not fun and must be actually forbidden. Yes, to hell with Alkenstar. Maybe even literally...

But, it still is very easy to imagine all these essences without magic. Like with gravity and electromagnetism. You are in the first and kind of exist because of the second. So what? Can you fly or shoot lasers from eyes? :)

You. I like you.

Yeah, I've never been a huge Alkenstar fan. The idea that the world is just like ours except with wizards stapled on haphazardly, that's irredeemably boring. It's also wildly inconsistent with a lot of what we actually see, since the world has a bunch of spirits and things, it has souls and ghosts. Do those go away in Alkenstar too?

I do disagree with the conclusion, mind. If gravity and electromagnetism vanished, we would disintegrate into loose sub-atomic particles. Same principle. The world can't exist without its four fundamentals, and magic is just the recognition of those fundamentals and means of directing them, same as boiling water to make steam.

I do have a counter to that. It's merely casting and the like that go away. The magic that animates constructs and golems continues to function in Alkenstar, even in Smokeside (hell, clockwork constructs are a commonplace thing there. And they aren't robots, magic was involved in their creation) . It'd be a bit like how there's still electricity within an EMF, it just prevents you from using it in any meaningful way! Nethys's anathema explicitly even points out that there is some kind of distinction between the mundane and the magical.

Indeed, these tales do show how mortals should not rely too much on deities.

I wonder if Yvali's quest for answers will be what ends up in the death of the Core20 deity. As in all proper prophecies, or how Kung-fu Panda's Master Shifu's fear-inspired action resulted in precisely what he feared : the release of Tai lung.

Like I said before, the whole world just gets the Alkenstar treatment. Divine Magic fails there too. I want to see what people do with this, but it might be because I'm running an Outlaws Backport as well.

Wondered when I'd see Findeladlara. Nice seeing you here, Evindyl. Might make a half-elf as well. Time to to create a 2e-ified version of my first PC maybe?

Is this using the remastered rules or not? Also, dot.

DAMN it's Nethys, I was hoping he'd be the one to die; ah well. At least we get to see what happens....

Irori mention!

But hm. Yeah. I have to wonder, was this a deliberate reference to some Forgotten Realms edition-change stuff, or is that just like, the inevitable most obvious consequence of the magic deity dying?

I'm most intrigued though by the mention of Irori. Like, was Pharasma asking a report from him specifically? Why did he swear he'd make it right; is that the kind of thing he'd be linked to? It might just be that I don't know enough of his lore, but like, it stands out, him being there.

Also, people from Alkenstar: "lol. lmao, even."
...would this make the Mana Wastes actually MORE hospitable?

Okay, so from reading the comments... I think it's not so much that it's fundamentally IMPOSSIBLE to mix those elements to create two new traditions, more like... frick I don't remember enough chemistry to give a proper metaphor. Maybe it's like, he was trying to invent nuclear power stations but ended up with nuclear explosions instead?
Heck, it's possible that this wouldn't have been disastrous were it anyone OTHER than Nethys attempting the experiment; he just has so much magic on him that it adds a dangerous extra factor. Like not drying a container sufficiently of water, before adding in hot oil.

From what I can tell, this basically makes large swathes of Golarion just like Alkenstar, maybe even like the Mana Wastes. Depends on its affect on creatures. And yeah, especially the people from Ironside and Smokeside are completely unaffected by this.

Meanwhile, everyone in Smokeside continues on with their daily life. Now my bets are on one of the Prismatic Ray or ZK, as much as I hate the Prismatic Ray being split apart.

Well, it coincided with the archives remaster. Whoever said that, props to you. So... if Nethys dies, there's about a ton more Alkenstars out there? Sounds about right. GUNS FOR EVERYONE.

Seeing as our Cavalier has been missing from the boards entirely for a month and a bit more, I'm going to reopen recruitment for a new 5th character. Would you lot like input to the character that gets selected?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Alright, seeing as our Cavalier is missing since over a month ago: I'm going to reopen recruitment for one, potentially 2 characters. Here's the link to the build rules we're using here.

Some things to note is that we will be using Surgetime and Bronzetime rules here. They won't be in affect for the entire campaign, but we do start out in Smokeside. Check the slides and the links for how that will work.

Our current characters are:

Dunn Brackern, Nature Fang Druid
Erryll Reyven, Half-Elf Bonded Witch
Maximillian Augustin, Ratfolk Gulch Gunner Gunslinger
Narl Smathok / Nevai Sige, Mutated Defender Vigilante

And our (presumably) departing character is a Dune Drifter Cavalier.

Yeah, doesn't seem like he's posted at all since the 4th, so I'm going to open up recruitment on Friday if I don't hear a response back, as I sent a private message to him.

Yeah, that's the main reason I've been hesitant to move on because Fhrank hasn't posted. Will probably DM him, and see if he's still up for this. If not, you can likely meet up with the party member at your next location you visit. I do want a buffer above the normal 4 characters since I'm a bit shaky on converting monsters from 2e to 1e, so having just a bit of an edge action-economy-wise wouldn't hurt.

Female Kitsune Trickster 1 | hp 9/9 | Init +5; Perc +2 | AC14 (T14 FF11) | CMD 11 CMB +3 | Fort +0 Ref +5 Will -2 (+2 v. Disease and Poison) [Human Form]

Chopping competition, +3 to each: 3d20 ⇒ (13, 10, 1) = 24

"Your reign shall soon meet its end, Bethana," Juriya tries to slyly remark as she steps up to face the maid in competition, dagger in hand. What starts off fairly well for the Kitsune ends up slowing her down, as she gets bogged down by her usual overconfident bravado. She bids her farewell to the competitors after doing her best, thanking both Ameiko for hosting and Bethana for participating. Again, she has to stop herself from bowing instinctively as she speeds off to the next competition.

Balance Beam, DC 15: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

The Balancing Beam, however, is a different story. As she's cheered on by at least some of the crowd, her vulpine reflexes allow her to be steady on the beam. She smiles as she overconfidently attempts to do a flip off of it... only to land on her face and embarrass herself immensely. "Overconfidence leads me nowhere," she mutters to herself as she wipes the dirt off her face. She gets her congratulations from Mativ, as well as the golden coin from the competition.

Can't hurt to check if the Thunderstones are coming along well, she muses as she runs off to the family house. "Seem to be doing well enough, will check on them again after the festival," she says as she exits the building. If it weren't for the festival being so public, as well as getting to eat more of Ameiko-cooked food, she'd probably be begging for scraps as a fox to get by relatively easily. Not the day, she thinks to herself as she rushes off to eat lunch.

I think a good number of people kind of missed the point though and wrote up a god that they thought would be cool, rather than who they would be as a god. Which is awesome too! Don't get me wrong. But unless you are admitting that you, yourself are evil aligned, the "God that is You" should most certainly not be.

I made the deity I felt like being at the time. Very much me-ish in a Golarion kinda a way but with lightning cause it is cool.

Yeah same here. Me from earth being a Golarion god would be so very different. Likely just Ydajisk but Axis.
Right! honestly I have no idea if I would even still be myself if i ended up in Golarion, let alone ended up there and passed the starstone test. I'm sure either of those events alone would change me in ways I could never imagine.

Yeah, that's the reason I had to just decide on a region to put myself in, otherwise there'd be so many Golarion stuffs I'd care about. Also drafted up the Erages version as well:

Violant, the Living Exchange

Symbol: A handshake of visibly different ancestries.

Category: Newly Risen God.
Areas of Concern: Mixed ancestries/heritages, cultural exchanges.
Edicts: Seek to understand others. Promote cultural contact and exchange. Identify with your heritages equally. Even if it's distancing yourself from them.
Anathema: Follow any god who claims domain over an ancestry. Promote isolationism. Treat anyone differently because of their ancestry.
Favored Weapon: Dagger.
Sanctification: May be Holy. Would be NG pre-remaster
Divine Ability: Charisma or Intelligence
Domains: Change, Family, Freedom, Introspection

Divine Font: Heal
Divine Skill: Society
Spells: 1st: Celestial Accord, 2nd: Calm Emotions, 3rd: Crisis of Faith

Far more political then just "Nethys can rot" given why Erages evven exists. Would have beef with a lot of racial pantheons.

And for the linguistics version, I'd imagine I'd end up as an Ydajisk clone with a few modifications.

But how are they worse than demons? Those are bad enough, I suppose.

If it helps hammer home the point of the goal and scope of their ruin. Cixyron, in their Starfinder incarnation, is essentially the god of nuclear bombs and striking planets with redirected meteors, not merely slavery or deformities or undeath. The daemons want to snuff out all mortal life, in their preferred way. Bibliodaemons seek to kill people by literal paperwork. Genthodaemons are manifestations of pointless wars where people forget why they're even fighting. And so on.

What saddens me is that we haven't gotten much tech in 2e. Brigh and Casandalee's focus doesn't hit the same itch for a technological answer to Nethys's single minded focus on magic that Cixyron did in 1e. That's what informs my answer here.

Were I not on the tech-kick, I'd likely come up with a different answer entirely. Probably an Aiuvarin Orc / Dromaar Elf god of... Aiuvarin and Dromaar, as well as cultural exchanges of all kinds.

The Death of Magic

Category: Newly Risen God.
Area of Concern: Technology, magic-dead regions.
Edict: Seek advanced technology and use it. Emulate and surpass magic with technology. Innovate and create new technology.
Anathema: Aid Nethys or his followers. Pursue the Purely Magical over the Technological. yes you can rune your gun.
Favored Weapon: Arquebus.
Sanctification: Holy or Unholy. Would be N pre-remaster
Divine Ability: Dexterity or Intelligence
Domains: Metal, Creation, Knowledge, Destruction
Alternate Domain: Lightning
Divine Font: Heal or Harm
Divine Skill: Crafting
Spells: 1st: Technomancy (doesn't exist in 2e), 2nd: Dispel Magic, 8th: Antimagic Field

I'd imagine I would not grant a lot of people spells, as that would go against the entire thing of being "technology over magic." Would probably come from a dead-magic region like Smokeside with a very intense distaste for Nethys.

Huh oh now THAT'S something I'd never considered; about him in his aspect as god of hunting, not just agriculture.

And here, it's not about "what if Erastil dies", but rather "if XYZ kills him, what effect will that have". Kind of like the Cayden one, actually. But there's a thematic connection here; "what if he gets killed by some beast", and "beasts" don't really stop killing once they've gotten a taste for it.

So. New tentative metric for this. There's gods where "the very fact of them dying" means all hell breaks loose, metaphorically, like Ur-whatsit and Pharasma. Then there's gods where it's the MANNER of their death, and what that MEANS, an causes problems, like Erastil here and Cayden. (Asmodeus... not sure where to categorize his story, prolly need more data points to populate a third category.)

Hm. A thought. There's a definite trend of "these are possibly the deep fears of the god in question", but I don't think that's the actual reasoning; I think it's more likely that "something an could result in a god's death, and feels like it fits thematically" has a strong correlation with "things an that god would prolly fear".

And since I should prolly get this written down: the god I most WANT it to be the one who dies, is Nethys (COME ON HE'S ALREADY JUST ONE WRONG MOVE AWAY FROM EXPLODING AT EVERY MOMENT), but the one I think it's most LIKELY to be is Sarenrae or Iomedae. Because "it would totally mess with their iconics!" could be a feature not a bug.

Someone mentioned Achaekek; I hope he survives the event, if only because "his major curse is that he personally kills you" is hilarious.

My bets are on Nethys here. His holidays are based on the old traditions of magic entirely, and will have lost relevance. The only other gods which are relics of 3.5E/DnD on the list are safe. Now, I wonder what death Nethys would fear. Would it be the one move away from exploding? Some magicless death? The idea of someone taking Nethys out to the shed and shooting the old magic system with a gun is hilarious to me, not going to lie.
