I'm taking a hiatus from my games for an undetermined account of time. If y'all want Trig to stay around (since she's the healer) feel free to bot her or let another player handle her for a while. If you'd prefer to boot her, GM, that's also an option since I'm not sure how long this hiatus will last.

"If the rest of these guys can get something resembling a campsite going, then yes. Cal can go search for the elf." Trig agreed with Wayland, and after some coaxing (aka bribing with food) Cal will fly off to follow the current.

Long rest with reasonable security. If she's still alive, she knows how to get back here.

"If she's even still down there..." Trig mumbles, looking down into the water and trying to see if there was any current that could have carried her away.

"I'm also not too sure about moving on, still. I think we ought to rest. Or maybe come back with several guards. Both? Both is good."

Trig sets part of her heavy crossbow on the ground and begins reloading, working on the winch to bring it back.

"All of you are crazy if you think I'm going to be able to get over that bridge without assistance." Trig claims as some start crossing.

Instead, she pulls out her crossbow and tries to aim for the same one that Wayland was firing at.

Sorry, I got really busy for a while there. For an in-game question, is Cal back yet?

"There's probably an intense power vacuum," Trig agreed. "So, yes, let's get across quickly. Quickly now."

Trig will go after a couple of people cross the bridge first.

Trig grumbled and rolled her eyes. She approached the goblin, pulled out the Wand of Cure Light Wound, and tapped it on the head without activating it. Then she began speaking.

Goblin:
"I am the mighty shaman of this troop. This magic stick can heal you, but only if you help us and don't anger me. Understand? I'm going to assume you understand. Here's the deal. If you give us information on what we want to know, I'll heal your wounds, and we'll let you run away from here so that no dogs will sniff you out and eat you. Trig will stay middle-back, and send Cal to scout. The empathetic link would allow me to tell when he's interested, in danger, etc.

"Lots of goblins, some of them dragging things." Trig warns. "Cal, please go and scout ahead some more. Stay stealthy, although I doubt goblins would find anything weird about bugs down here."

With a bob of his body that could have been a nod, Cal flies off before crawling along the wall.

When the group stumbles upon the injured goblin, Trig's scowl deepens. She looks around to see if this could be some sort of ambush, but doesn't begin conversation with it unless requested.

Once Cal returns, she nods and tries to decipher anything useful from the empathetic link. North, however, was at least a directly. "Cal's pointing north. Was that the way to Thistletop? This whole things got me rattled." Trig admitted and shook her head.

"If it is, we should probably stop it. I agree with the dwarf that we should rest up before walking into Thistletop, but it'll be a lot harder for us tomorrow if they know we're coming."

"Another one?" Trig spat. "There's too many goblins."

Trig grabbed her hair and lifted it off of her neck. "Come on, Cal. It's time to earn your keep." From under her armor Cal emerged, sitting on her shoulder and looking at the others with his attennae flaili3 about. "A goblin escaped. I want you flying towards their home base, and if you see it, let me know. If you find it, I'll reward you, deal?"

Trig will leave the Stirges to their own devices, trusting the spell from keeping them from doing anything she wouldn't want.

Instead, she worked to help Lazur out so he could help out Calin and Shalelu faster. Trig ran as fast as she could, pulling out her Longspear as she did, to get into a flanking position with her comrade.

@GM

With the Stirges having Scent and moving through the creature, how would you rule their next actions? They attack enemies, so I would assume if they figure out that that's not a good food source, they'd move to the next one.

I'll leave the Stirges actions up to you so as to not hold things up.

The Stirges popped into the Material from wherever they came. Trig put them halfway between herself and the giant lizard, pushing the spell as far as she could to get that result. The oversized mosquitos homed in on the lizard immediately, flying in the rest of the way and trying to stick their proboscis into it.

Stirges have 0 reach so there will be an attack of opportunity. AC 16, 5 HP. When they hit with their touch attack, they'll latch on and cause 1 point of Con damage at the end of their turn. There's also a 10% chance of a disease, so I'll roll that and call high.

Bah, shoulda called low. Eh.

Trig quickly surveys the battlefield and notices that there are only two goblins left. The one to the south she expected to get messed up immediately by Calin and Morgrym, so the caster on the lizard was the problem.

Choosing to hide behind Wayland, Trig began casting another spell at the War Chanter. Her hair barely had time to dim before it was glowing once again.

I have the same concerns as Wayland, but we'll see how it all goes.

Trig growls at the newcomers and takes a step towards Wayland. "I'm going to start casting but it'll a few seconds." She tells Wayland, and as if to give her away, her hair begins to shimmer and glow again.

Trig is going to look at this Warchanter critically before trying to see how far from her Wayland and Calin were. A single goblin wasn't too bad. For now.

Trig keeps an eye out for whichever goblin looks the most important out of the group and casts Produce Flames. Once identified, she would throw the small ball of fire at that one, or, failing in identification, at one of the ones in front.

Trig will settle in behind Calin and Wayland's bush, marking them both with Life Link for the upcoming fight.

What happened with Lazur's token?

<<Excellent. Give me a moment to talk with these stupid too-tall humans and we'll get back to you. Take a rest.>>

Trig looks back at the group and explains the conversation from where she stopped translating. "So we'll get to ambush our likely ambushers. Any questions, concerns, or comments? I say we find a clearing, attack from a distance where we can have tree cover, then do more of this kind of goblin slaying if they make it to us. But that's just what I assume is a common sense tactic."

Halfway through that post I thought to myself, Yeah, Goblins absolutely would buy into Mad Max's SHINY AND CHROME and I'm all for it.

<<Glory. Fame. Respect. Stuff. We're going to Thistletop to invade the Goblins there. When we do, you two can get first pick of the weapons and armor. Return to your tribe all shiny and victorious. And, the best part is, there's no risk. All you two have to do is go ahead and tell them we're coming and want to meet them on the road outside of town. You know how humans are. They want to parlay and other stupid plans before a big battle. If something does happen... well, you've seen how strong we are. You'll have plenty to choose from. But, are you ready for the best best part? Once you two return home, all shiny and victorious, with new slicy swords and armor that doesn't have holes in the middle, you won't need to be scared of Vorka anymore. In fact, Vorka should be scared of your tribe's new heroes... What's your two's names? I wanna know the names of future heroes.>>

Slight variation on Wayland's plan, but likely to get the same result of goblins coming to ambush us.

<<Because it sounds like Chief Gutwad sent you brave goblins out here while he sits back and relaxes while you do all the hard work. You were sent here to burn down a town and kill all the dogs and horses. Why isn't he here? Why are you two out here,>> Trig gestures to the dead goblins. <<Clearly risking your lives when, you said it yourself, Ripnugget couldn't send his goblins into your swamp. Why wouldn't you want to get back at him? Hmm? This is his fault after all. Can't take out this Vorka, can't lead his people into battle. What's so great about Gutwad, anyway?>>

Trig crosses her arms and huffs. <<Sounds like the kind of goblin that reads,to me. Can't trust 'em.>>

"And why isn't the rest of your tribe joining them? Cheif Gutwad planning something else?" Trig asks in goblin. She would translate the conversation quietly for those who could not speak it so everyone could be in the loop.

Two then one.

Trig hasn't had much to say in character, and I've had a lot to prep for this week. My bad.

Swapping out Magical Linguist for Pyromaniac. Nice and simple.

The fire is for sterilization, obviously.
