Titian moves to his horse and smiles.
"To take them on piece by piece sounds good!"

Looking around Titian addresses the others.
"He is not fit for riding. There is another solution. Take two young trees, bind the ends together at one end and tie the other two ends on booth sides of the saddle. You then have a V. Put a blanket over the V and tie it to the poles. You can lay the person on the blanket and drag it after you."

Moving closer to aid Herger, the knight smiles and take a deep breath.
"I am ready, brother!"

Titian quickly moves over, hand on the hilt of his blade.
Slowly checking the area for signs of an ambush he keeps the guard while the healers check the body.

Looking around after taking care of his steed Titian moves toward the fire and strokes it a bit.
"Larin, no worries, you will learn soon enough. It is not that hard, especially with such a good mentor!"

Titian looks at the long gash in his side and winces.
"This did hurt! A lot! At least he provided us with a tasty meal

Taking his blade in booth hands, Titian hacks into the boar.

Titian smiles after checking windspirit for any cuts or bruises.

Carefully riding closer Ttitan dismounts and opens the sacks.

Titian turns round and charges again using a ride by attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 202d8 + 16 ⇒ (4, 4) + 16 = 24

In the moments before Titian had moved to a position to charge his enemy. He aligned his lance and spured his steed to gallop!
Charge: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 242d8 + 14 ⇒ (4, 2) + 14 = 20
With a mighty crash the lance pierced deep into the hide of the troll and within second his steed had brought him a few feet away from the enemy.

Ini: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Waiting till he feels the power of the blessing Titian rides up the stream and looks for a place to attack.

Titian shrugs and adds. "If we do not pursue them, other sons will be killed. And now that we know our enemy, we will fare better!"

Titian wheels around and charges again.
Charge: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 242d8 + 8 ⇒ (4, 5) + 8 = 17

Wheeling around Titian charges again.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 182d8 + 8 ⇒ (3, 1) + 8 = 12

Titian charges forward.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 102d8 + 8 ⇒ (6, 2) + 8 = 16
But his lance misses the target.

Titian rides forward a bit, to be in charging distance with a clear path.
"Stay close and prepare to flank them!"

Iniative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Titian prepares to lower his lance and charge the troll.

Titian takes a deep breath and asks Autumn:
"One or more than one?"

Titian looks at Larin and smiles.
"Always. The lands are still dangerous. And while we are now more, and this should deter any bandits, we are still not save from ambushes."

Mounted Titian is waiting for the others to start the expedition.

Always an early riser Titian woke up with the sun and started by doing his morning routine. 50 push ups, 50 squads and 100 crunches. His old man at arms always said that a sloppy warrior is a bad warrior. Swiping the sweat off his brow he walked over to the basin and poured water in it and finished his shores by washing and shaving.

While feeding him and checking hooves he slowly talked to his companion, promising him a hard ride today.
Esprit was not a friendly horse, had never be, and sometimes in a foul mood. But still, Titian cared greatly for him.

I used to work at the airport, too. First Security, then medical services.
I think I spend every x-mas and all the other holidays there. Glad I moved on. A lot better on my work-life balance.
Which airport do you work in?
I mainly worked at MUC, but also went to CDG, LHR and FRA.

Titian just raises an eyebrow on this discussion. He was a more deeds not words person, and he was always in the mood for some good protection, preferably at full gallop with his lance.
Rising he nodded to the new ones. "Can you ride or can you ride?" Shrugging he smiles.
"There is a difference, and I want to know how to keep you safe. I am sure you have riding horses. So better keep them away from my stallion, he needs some time. Of course, if you have mares... that would work well!"
And for a moment a sad smile is on his face, remembering a tournament where a friends stallion got into a fight with another that had cost his friend the round. Not that Pierre had been a good or even a decent lancer, but it was his first tournament and his opponent, the brazen basilisk was utterly drunk that day and so Pierre even had a chance.

Titian lays his hand on Autumn and looks at Kesten.
"Sir Kesten, please let me explain. We all have been on the road for a few weeks. Sitting through rain, cold and standing guard through the night. One was doing the cooking, the other the hunting, the third was tending the animals and so on.
We do share what we found and tried to share it to the benefit of all.
We found the horses and we do not need them. We heard that you might need through a third person. We are sent to pacify this area, to explore it. But alas, we can not be everwhere at once.
If you have mounted men, you can patrol a wider area, your men are faster, more rested and a lot more efficient. You can attack faster, or flee with a higher chance if need arrises.
So, please understand, it is in our interest to make your men stronger, faster, better armed, better armored.
Otherwise we would just throw it away. And that would be stupid.
Same with the steak.
You would insult us and in a way slight our faith, as it is a token of our respect to you and the great work you do as proctor of the community here."

Nodding Titian continues.
"But not all can be explained far from the original area. I think we can all enjoy a good nights sleep and then return on the road.
The more time we give to this stag lord the better he can prepare his defenses."

Titian turn to Augustina and replies.
"Please keep your banner. It is part of yourself, of what you believe. If it raises your spirit or you just want to show, I am here, keep it. Your faith and your beliefs are your choice."
He then turns to Larin.
"Well, they live in that area. They can be a nuissance ... or an asset. And as long as we have ... relativly... good relations to their leader Chief Sootscale, I am not inclined to start a fight, especially as we have more dangerous enemies, who are much more vicious and active."

Titian shrugs and replies Kesten.
"Oh, I am not sure. But there are no new taxes, or levies and that is a good start. Booth mean trouble."
Looking at Torek Titian continues. "We do not have to pacify all the area at once, but once the fields around this fort are safe the first settlers could come. I mean there is a military presence, so this is good start."
He then shrugs and continues.
"But I think we have to make a statement, present a symbol.
And I think the head of the bandit king is exactly what we need!"
Taking out the map he points to the next two points of interest.
I think we should explore next the area on the other side of the river, across Rickety bridge till down to the lake. Then on the other side up, south of the kobold lair."

Moving in towards Oleg to buy some treats for his warhorse Titian is pleased to see Autumn haggling with Oleg. Standing for a moment at the door, leaning to it, he watches the young woman do the talking for a moment or two before joining her.
"We also need feed for our two more horses. I wish you had one of those fancy looking glasses, but alas, this more than we can ask for.
And even if, it would be too expensive for our limited funds.
But maybe you have one or two bucklers."
Thinking for a moment he continues.
"And a book with blank pages. It is time to chronicle our journey. I have not the best handwriting... but we should be able to tell others about our decisions."

Keeping back Titian was lost in thoughts. The stolen lands were vast, and the hideout of the staglords location unknown. On the other hand, where could it be. Either on a hill or close to a river. You wanted a supply of fresh water. But at the moment there were too many options.
Maybe he should later talk to the others. A pity that no sage was close.

Actually there is. The royal line of the rogavia went poof, but the Surtova took over
Titian also helps him with a hug bowl, slicing two huge pieces of bread from the loaf and sits down to eat with more etiquette than usual. They were in the highest civilization here at least.
Finishing his spoon he takes a few seconds to gather his thoughts he replies.
"That is for sure a coincidence. The stag is a royal animal, a symbol of verility and martial prowess."
Taking his cup he rises and speaks.
"With our new companions, I think it is high time to spend less time on exploration and focus on liberation.
Let us stalk the stag lord,
hunt him down,
and bring him to justice!"

We also could, and to be honest it is a few hours work, tops, just saw a few small flags or ribbons and leave after we had an encounter with the stag lord.
Why? To show him he is hunted, that someone is contesting his rule.
But also to show those honest workers, like trappers and hunters, that a new "Sheriff" is in town.
Even hand one of the grunts the ribbon and send him back to the boss.

Titian would also start to make a hug map and stash it at Olegs, to show what we have explored. So that we can discuss where to go to next.

Also we (could) should start to paint a colour scheme to all our shields.
Everyone should have at least a buckler. (Maybe our sorcerer a bit later)

Seeing that the poor halfling has to really look very high up to him, Titian dismounts and gives Oleg and Svetlana a warm smile.
"It is very good that some people start doing honest work for their living again."
Looking at Augustina Titian can only shrug.
"We are closer now, we are chasing his men wereever we find them.
They are quite badly trained, but we are few and this is a very large area we have to explore to find the bandits hideouts."
He sighs and looks to the south. "Those we find often do not have a lot of inside knowledge, but we pierce together bits and pieces."
Putting his hand on the hilt of his arming sword he smiles and adds.
"His time is limited and we will bring justice to this area!"
Looking at Augustinas banner he smiles.
"You will find many followers of old one eye here, no worries!"

Just my 2cents from a Larper view.
I would never use silk for a mercenarys banner. Linnen is much sturdier and easier to wash. For our dress tabards, silk is awesome. For the others, a bit less. :-)

Titian looks at the little halfling and leans down in the saddle.
"Well met. Well, I do not know what people you are supposed to meet. What kind of expedition?"

Titian nods at Autumns words and replies.
"A dog once was a wolf. Sometimes a wild stallion will make the whole herd while. Replace the the stallion with a tame one and you have a herd you can use for labor! We can try?"

Titian leans forward and replies to Toreks question.
"Her tries to rule by a simple principle. Who says he is the boss and can convince others through charisma or brutality that he is the boss, will be seen as the ruler. Even if he is just a little man.
It just needs a bit of willpower and bravery to stand to this man... and all his rule crumbles!"

Titian leans back and shrugs. His mind had been wandering for quite some time.
"The past was yesterday. It what you do today, and tomorrow, that will decide how people treat you!"

Sorry for the late feedback.
I had an infection and was hospitalised till yesterday.
Sorry for my absence, but I couldn´t even think clear for almost 2 weeks.

Titian with a smile nods to Autumn and starts working on the camp. Clearing debris, making a ring of stones to keep the fire in check and starting the fire preparing to make some hot stew.
