When Charm Person is cast part of the the description is

Target: One humanoid creature.

Certain races/species have Humanoid features but are technically not "humanoid" ....

Demons for example:

Babau
CE Medium outsider (chaotic, demon, evil, extraplanar)

Can I cast charm person on such a creature... mean humanoid...I mean....outsider?

i AM CURIOUS WHAT CREATURE/HUMONCULI i WOULD START WITH, WHAT ITEMS CREATION NEEDED AND WHAT SPELLS TO CREAT A LARGE SNAIL WHOS SHELL SERVED A A TWO BUNK CARRIAGE WITH FIREPLACE ISIDE AND A CHIMEY.

Is there a way to include a spell that has an attack roll and is cast as a standard action as part of a BAB with

x/x/x etc

e.g sword attack/sword attack/Scorching ray?

Deadly aim does not say it HAS to HAVE a range attack roll, just that it cannot be a touch attack.:

"Benefit: You can choose to take a -0 penalty on all ranged attack rolls to gain a +0 bonus on all ranged damage rolls. You must choose to use this feat before making an attack roll and its effects last until your next turn. The bonus damage does not apply to touch attacks or effects that do not deal hit point damage. "

Magic Missile is neither touch nor melee.

"Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)"

Deadly aim should apply bonus without penalty, even if there is no "attack roll" as you are still attacking a creature....agreed?

Would a Universalist Wizard casting HoA equipped with a quarterstaff and having the TWF feat be able to do

1d6+str/1d6+str damage?

If a Tengu chose claws giving up linguist as a racial and received 1d3 natural claw attacks, then chose

Monk-class
weapon focus/natural-feat
Feral Combat Training-feat

the damage done for 3rd level with zero str mod is

1d6/1d6+1d3+1d3
attack/fob+natural

Or
1d3x2+1d6
nat and flurry

Thank you in advance.

If a pc has both feats and has a BAB of 5 his threatened squares up to 10ft away (two squares in every direction).

If an NPC was engaged but decides to move away to another area 30ft out, would combat patrol and reflexes allow for the first AOO as the npc moves away,
then another as the npc moves out of the first 5ft square,
then another as the NEW threatened squares are ANOTHER ten ft out....and so on until the combat reflexes number of AOO are exhausted?

So a PC with +4 dex mod would be ablle to follow in the NPC's wake until 5 AOO are made?

I was going to suggest a class to my son perfect for his concept but I cannot remember the name!
I believe the description said something along the lines of
"Not all crusader are honorable, some are just opportunistic."

The image is of a martial class, the man carrying a lot of gear.
Could be an archtype...
Any help would be appreciated.

If decompose corpse was cast on a Zombie, would it still function as a Skeleton creature with attacks whose type had changed?

If cast on an object such as a Necromancers staff would it leave behind a functioning staff if the vertebrae alone was left, or would it destroy the object...

Also, would it have any effect on Vampires or Ghouls, Liches etc whom could be argued to be undead corpses?

If a level 8 Shadow sorcerer cast "Shadow conjuration" using-

Heighten Spell (Metamagic)

You can cast spells as if they were a higher level.

Benefit: A heightened spell has a higher spell level than normal (up to a maximum of 9th level). Unlike other metamagic feats, Heighten Spell actually increases the effective level of the spell that it modifies. All effects dependent on spell level (such as saving throw DCs and ability to penetrate a lesser globe of invulnerability) are calculated according to the heightened level.

Level Increase: The heightened spell is as difficult to prepare and cast as a spell of its effective level.

....and chose 9th level the spell would be cast AS a level 9 spell, correct? This would effect the duration as well as the DC, and the quasi-reality %

Shadow Conj: CL8 + 9(spell level) + attribute mod + miscmod(feats/class)

Same with Shadow Evocation when able to cast the spell?

A player would like to say that the free action involved with a throwing shield includes the attack, so with a blink back belt, returning etc it becomes technically an infinite attack.
I read that the free action is the unclasping of the shield, and when an attack is made it becomes a standard attack, or can also be used in a full round attack as part of the attack.

......From throwing shield description-
"This shield is designed for throwing and has specially designed straps allowing you to unclasp and throw it as a free action. Tower shields cannot be throwing shields."

What say ye?

EDIT
Sorry accidentally posted in the mutant 2e forums.

A player wants to create a character with four arms, fighter with tower prof and some rogue to get greater evasion.....this is awesome buuuuut, he argues this would give him 100% concealment.....which is fine, buuuuuut, he says that the concealment would negate AoE damage and I need another perspective to explain it would not.

How would you put it to him?

If a Monk uses Wis for AC and StunF DC, as well as ki pool etc, other than feat tree access why use dex at all?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Using it for years but a bit tech ignorant.

Am I able to save all my PC's in a campaign as a party instead of individual files from the file tab?

There is a party option but trying to use it only allows a single character save.

Tyvm in advance.

I then realized it appears all new releases are in 2e....is there any all encomoasing bundle of 1e AP's?

I would rather own all of the 1e releases and then Homebrew as opposed to purchasing anyting 2e for the rest of my life.....my family are all 1e and raised our kids on 1e....reminds me of having to leave dnd 3.5 for P1e :P

I am working a Fetchling gloomblade SHadowdancer.

Gloomblades receive a Shadow Weapon (Su) ability...with this change to fighter class:
"This replaces the fighter’s armor training and proficiency with heavy armor and shields (he retains proficiency in light and medium armor)."

If I take-
Armor Proficiency (Heavy) Type: Combat Requirements: either
( profwitharmor: TYPE.Medium at least 1, at least 1 Armor Proficiency ( Medium ) FEAT )
Description: You are skilled at wearing heavy armor. Benefit: When you wear a type of armor with which you are proficient, the armor check penalty for that armor applies only to Dexterity- and Strength-based skill checks.

-at level five I regain the armor prof without losing the Shadow Weapon, as it does not state any ability will be lost taking this feat or even wearing Heavy armor when not prof with it...correct?

My main question is as a fighter woth 5 levels of Shadowdancer should I give him charisma as a side stat or dex?

It would seem that either are viable and the class is mostly making use of the Shadowstep and Shadow Creature ability for flavor.

so: Use activated or continuous= spell lvlx caster level x 2000gold

True strike: lvl1 cl 1 = 2000 gold

Weapon= cost of masterwork item...300g plus sword cost= 325g

total gold for a magical Sword of True strike=2,325 gold

is this correct?

Effect allows a continuous +20 to attack.

1)
If for any reason (using a free action to release my hand on my two-handed weapon or I am wielding a long sword) I am wielding a weapon but have a hand free, and have chosen,
BEAST TOTEM, lesser
...Benefit: While raging, the barbarian gains two claw attacks. These attacks are considered primary attacks and are made at the barbarian’s full base attack bonus. The claws deal 1d6 points of slashing damage (1d4 if Small) plus the barbarian’s Strength modifier...

can I use my ONE free hand to make two claw attacks?

2)
No matter the answer to the question above, after I have made a full round attack with my weapon do the claw attacks count as primary and receive the bonus from str or do they become secondary with penalty?

Thank you in advance (Longtime Wizard, first time Barbarian)

It would seem that adding Dex to damage would make a Ranger (insert dex class here) unquestionably more powerful, and leave fighters solely for flavor ( and I love my Fighters).

I know undead traits make them immune to mind affecting/ fear, but what ghouls having a leader, Creatures from the shadow plane obeying others (Shadow spawn and Greater Shadows ect) or the brides of Dracula fearing their lord?
Also I think of Urgathoa and her minions, who seem to have a healthy fear for her....
Would this be strictly flavor/RP distinctives vs RAW?

If I were to make a sword that cast truestrike on a command word with 50 charges what would be the cost and formulae?

If farmers have heart of the wild trait, giving them the focused study feat and so choose handle animal, would they be able to use it on creatures such as Stirges, while being magical beasts have an INT of 1, and so make them part of their farm?
Think Ravenmoor.

If a lich cast ray of sickening (target receives -2 to all saves etc.) then cause fear (target receives -2 to all rolls etc.) would they then receive -4 to saves, attacks etc.?

If a gunslinger chooses a two handed firearm and then takes the rapid reload feat what is the reload time on the weapon?

Rolled a Paladin and originally chose a warhammer....then realized that the

Warhammer ( Warhammer Type: Weapon. Resizable. Melee. Martial. OneHanded. Bludgeoning. Hammer.

other than an extra crit numerical, while the morningstar has piercing thrown in on every hit...

Trapped his soul in a gem using Trap the soul....round 2.

Victor: Deikai the Teleportation wizard

Group: Topdroppers. (Due to the teleportation wizard flying/teleporting the party to top level/boss fight areas.)

level: 18

Silver dragon Disciple Sorcerer Gnome: Bakatychillicus

Alchemist Gnome: Ellywick Folkor

Druid dwarf: Milo

The quivering palm CRB says attack and strike. It makes no mention of melee or ranged, or flurry restrictions....

So the question is can a Monk make a quivering palm strike with Monk weapons, or even weapons in general?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It is a ring that activates when combat initiates, summoning a monster as if using the summon monster spell.

1) Can I grapple an enemy and make an attack of opportunity against another enemy that moves through my threatened square?

2) Does number of attacks I can make effect this?

3) Can I make AoO if I am grappled?

Trying to clear an argument...:}

If my Druid wants to craft an iron golem can he have a wizard substitute casting req spells to avoid dc+5 per spell?

If a staff holds
1) burning hands 1 charge
2 fireball 1 charge
3) Dimensional anchor 1 charge

a 6th level wizard can cast spells 1 and 2.

If he uses all three charges is he able to charge the
staff completely,
the first two spells charges,
or not at all?

If:
Greater quicken metamagic rod 170,000 gp
DESCRIPTION

The wielder can cast up to three spells per day that are quickened as though using the Quicken Spell feat.

And the feat is : Level Increase: +4 (a quickened spell uses up a spell slot four levels higher than the spell’s actual level.)

The feat can never alter a spell above 6th level, so can the rod quicken 7-9th level spells?
Or is that limitation applied as it modifies 'as the feat', or is that to strict an interpretation?

Contingency is cast up to (Duration 1 day/level (D) or until discharged).

My question is after that initial casting must contingency (and even its companion spell) remain on your prepared spell list, or having been cast prior to the current day continue on much like an enchantment, say, Geas/quest?

Can a small creature move from a threatened square into the enemy square, (Rangers companion, Dire Rat) occupy and still contribute to flanking?

Simple question: Will improved feint make a ranged feint a move action?

I understand a bomb cannot be enchanted because it is made of components and thrown in the same action; but what if the kit that held the component were enchanted?

For example: Alchemist Kit enchanted with Dominate. The components, after 24 hours, were infused with the enchantment and the Alchemist could cast a number of bombs per day as if using an enchanted weapon, after which the kit would return to normal until the next enchantment occurred.

If a Free hand fighter has ImpUnarmed Strike and TWF could he attack with his main hand/sword then grapple with his off hand?

Or any variation thereof? Disarm/trip/steal etc with his offhand?

Would he need ImpUn Strike to do so?

Wand of Scorching Ray was given to player. 12 charges remain.

Player cast it and uses one charge.

Player asked what caster level it was created at and assumed that if it isnt specified there is no reason not to say the highest and so use 3 rays per charge....

Acceptable?

(I know that when purchasing a wand they are assumed to be set at the lowest, but this is in a hoard and so is considered more valuable.)

I noticed that on page 240 of the ISG the planar map does not include the First world, though a description of it is given on pg 239.

Just an interesting perception...

After it is thrown up to 60ft and explodes for 5d6 damage it encloses 'a' creature in a 10x10 sphere that cannot be harmed for 10 minutes...

Is this a bead thrown at a street urchin surrounded by wolves giving you time to pick them off...
Or a bead thrown at a boss protected by underlings giving you time to pick them off?

Unsure what this statement means:
"Like when crafting magic items, a creator with a sufficiently high skill bonus may ignore these requirements."

For example:
"The pieces of a wood golem are assembled from blocks of fine wood and sprinkled with rare powders and crushed herbs worth at least 300 gp.

CL 7th; Price 19,300 gp
Requirements Craft Construct, alarm, animate objects, cat’s grace, geas/quest, limited wish, creator must be caster level 12th; Skill Craft (carpentry) DC 17; Cost 8,800 gp"

What part of construction does the craft skill bypass?

Playing a Free Hand Fighter,

With improved unarmed strike, TWF feat, on my attack with my EMPTY HAND LIGHT WEAPON, if successful can I attempt a grapple, also, will it do damage?

Scenario: Slice a mans chest with your sword, then with your offhand attempt to grab his hair/beard/ear/throat?

*Is the second hand able to Grapple on attack being the second weapon used by TWF?

If I cast AS, polymorph into a....goblin...and the next day cast AS and polymorph into a goblin will I appear as the same goblin?

Can the 'generic' look be repeated or is it random every time?

Paste rule please.

I understand that a Bag of Holding can be ruptured from the inside, but is there an escape method from a P-Hole?

Hole is defined as:
A portable hole is a circle of cloth spun from the webs of a phase spider interwoven with strands of ether and beams of starlight, resulting in a portable extradimensional space. When opened fully, a portable hole is 6 feet in diameter, but it can be folded up to be as small as a pocket handkerchief. When spread upon any surface, it causes an extradimensional space 10 feet deep to come into being. This hole can be picked up from inside or out by simply taking hold of the edges of the cloth and folding it up. Either way, the entrance disappears, but anything inside the hole remains, traveling with the item.

The only air in the hole is that which enters when the hole is opened. It contains enough air to supply one Medium creature or two Small creatures for 10 minutes. The cloth does not accumulate weight even if its hole is filled. Each portable hole opens on its own particular nondimensional space. If a bag of holding is placed within a portable hole, a rift to the Astral Plane is torn in that place. Both the bag and the cloth are sucked into the void and forever lost. If a portable hole is placed within a bag of holding, it opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The hole, the bag, and any creatures within a 10-foot radius are drawn there, the portable hole and bag of holding being destroyed in the process.

I have obtained a Ring of Force and need to know the dimensions of the wall of force it creates or:

1) If I am attacked by three ghosts adjacent to each other in front of me do I assume it protects from all three natural attacks and

2) if one of the attackers is a small size, the next a medium, and the third 5ft behind them with reach would I still assume protection from all three?

Ring description:
Description
This ring generates a shield-sized (and shield-shaped) wall of force that stays with the ring and can be wielded by the wearer as if it were a heavy shield (+2 AC). This special creation has no armor check penalty or arcane spell failure chance since it is weightless and encumbrance-free. It can be activated and deactivated at will as a free action.

Wall of Force
description that pertains to question:
Breath weapons and spells cannot pass through a wall of force in either direction, although dimension door, teleport, and similar effects can bypass the barrier. It blocks ethereal creatures as well as material ones (though ethereal creatures can usually circumvent the wall by going around it, through material floors and ceilings). Gaze attacks can operate through a wall of force.

The caster can form the wall into a flat, vertical plane whose area is up to one 10-foot square per level. The wall must be continuous and unbroken when formed. If its surface is broken by any object or creature, the spell fails.
