So, I have had my posting frequency decrease lately, and I have realized that it is time that I face facts. I cannot continue for the time being, at least until I get my feet underneath me and I figure out how all this is going to work.

What is "this"? Well, I am starting med school this year. In about a month, actually. I also am in the middle of a move from Hawaii back to Michigan. And last but not least...I am an older student, so I haven't been "in" school since oh...1998.

To say I am nervous and a bit freaked would be an understatement. I just don't think that I can continue posting until I get settled in, get my study rhythm down and figure out what is what.

I am certain that I will be scratching the walls and looking for a good stress release in a few months, and will most likely return...probably to a game or two.

In any regard, its been a good two years of fun. I have really enjoyed this. I am certain that posting regularly has helped my writing and probably helped my career in the process. You guys are a fantastic community, wonderful brilliant and imaginative writers and just lovely people. Cheers and I hope to see you again in a few months.

He watches with trepidation as the dwarf is whisked away.

"Well, that was certainly unexpected. I wonder if it is a trap...or perhaps it leads somewhere further in this tomb?" Terrin says, moving forward to inspect the entranceway with Tara.

"If we are going to try this, we probably should attempt to light all of the lanterns, then point the arrow at them in the correct sequence of the rainbow. I think that its pretty obvious that this mechanism has to do with light, not darkness. So we should light everything up. Then, as Pelor has shown us, the white light of the sun is actually made up of many colors. A glass put in a ray of sunlight splits the light like a rainbow. So we should make the arrow point at the colors of the rainbow in their proper order."

"I honestly would doubt it. Creatures of the dark are not typically awoken with beams of pure light (speaking from experience and doctrine). Whatever this is is quite intricate however. It also appears to be a test of some sort. If it were a trap, it would blast us and be done with it. This, contraption is very elaborate to simply attempt to kill us." Terrin says, following Eldgrim to the center of the room.

"Do you think the dais can be rotated? I mean, it does have an arrow on it, so it makes sense that it should be pointing at something."

"Those of you with injuries, please come closer." Terrin says, then pauses for a few moments.

"As we stand in defiance of the darkness let us keep the memory of the sun burning in our hearts, lighting the furnace of our soul and empowering the strength of our arms." Terrin prays, a warm glow eminating from him, illuminating the room for a few seconds.

Terrin watches the proceedings, hesitant to get in the way of the warriors but searching for an opportunity to lend his aid.

Terrin looks slightly perplexed at Tara's words. "Of course I will do everything I can to aid and bring you safely back to Diamond Lake. If we lose someone in the depths of the cairn, then I will hardly have a chance to show them Pelor's loving radiance, now will I? To put it another way, my opportunity to save a soul ends when someone gets killed."

Terrin frowns at Breda's pronouncement.

"I do not believe that to be wise. It is too easy to see the dead as tools rather than corpses that need to be put to their final rest. I will have to pray on this a bit, but you must be aware of Pelor's stance on the unquiet dead. I cannot stray from this...they must be destroyed when they are found."

Terrin holds up a hand to forestall any angry words from the young lady. "I am not judging you, your studies or your methods. Please give me the time to pray on this before we discuss it further."

Terrin turns back to Kyle, "You know that I am not interested in glory or riches Kyle. I am interested in people. I am going with you because you and these others are going, if you understand my meaning."

After hearing Gorvic's profession of Kyle's perfidity, Terrin looks at Eldgrim, a slightly bemused expression on his face. Any comment is forestalled by Kyle turning around and calling out to them.

"You know, they will be less likely to engage in something that would 'darken the world' if we were along keeping a sharp eye out. After all: "Evil flourishes in the darkness, or when those with sight close their eyes." Not a great parable to be sure, I find it a bit simple, but it works." Terrin mutters to Eldgrim as he finishes his beer, stands and heads for the door.

"Kyle, I would be quite happy to accompany you and lend aid where I can. Let me stop by the shrine and pick up my gear. It should only take a moment." he replies as he heads out the door.

Terrin nods to the rest of the group as he walks past heads a few yards down the road and ducks into the small shrine to Pelor, where he grabs his pack, armor and aspergillium. He quickly dons the gear and walks back to the waiting group.

"May Pelor shine his blessing on our endeavors." he intones with a grin. "So...What are our endeavors?", he then asks.

Terrin doesn't really have a reason to go along yet. His charge is to take care of the people of the town, not go off and raid tombs.

Now if there was a threat to the town of some sort...perhaps from disturbing undead...that would be a good reason for Terrin to go. But everybody knows that most of the tombs here about have been discovered and cleared out. This area is relatively safe, being so close to Greyhawk.

Well that is what Terrin thinks in any rate.

Terrin looks over his shoulder at the four individuals as they leave before turning back to his ale and taking a long pull.

"Why? What are they doing? Is it something that we should be concerned with?" he asks Govric and Eldgrim as he sets down the mug.

"They are just going back to the mine right?"

Terrin beams at the dwarf. "It is always better to be wanted than the reverse." he says with a laugh. "Thank you. You are the first person to actually be pleasant since I reached the town."

Terrin mentally shrugs at the laughter. Nobody said that this was going to be easy. Looks like I need to take the long-view. "Pelor's warmth eventually melts the thickest ice..."

Terrin stops, turns from the bar and walks over to the one miner who asked for a blessing. Even if it was in jest...

The oblivious miner was concentrating on his cup when Terrin walked up behind him. Holding his holy symbol in one hand, and the other palm out over the head of the miner he intoned, "May the Light of Pelor shine forth upon you, light your way in the darkness, reside in your heart, and guide you in times of challenge and times of plenty."

Then, a golden light and warmth eminated from Terrin, like the touch of the sun on a summer day.

Channel, heal, 30'

"I hope it helps." he says, laying a hand on the miner's shoulder. He then turns an heads back towards the bar.

Terrin is intercepted before coming into the tavern by "The Four" in order to recieve the blessing of the young priest...every little bit helps, right?

A young man dressed in the plain brown and orange trimmed robes of a priest of Pelor tenetively pokes his head into the tavern for a moment, then ducks back out. A moment later he walks all the way into the tavern and goes to the center of the room, the holy symbol of Pelor out and prominently displayed on his chest.

He waits a moment, for all eyes to be on him before he raises a hand and the room quiets a bit at this unexpected intrusion. I figure that brash adventurers are more likely to enter a bar in a mining town than a priest of Pelor.

"Good evening. I just wanted to introduce myself, and I figured that I would find most of the miners here wetting their throats after a long day in the mines. I am Radiant Servant Terrin. I have the pleasure of helping bring the light of Pelor into your lives...and I hear if anyone could use a little extra light, a miner can." he says with a smile.

"In any regard, I will be holding a very quick sunrise blessing tomorrow morning for all those who want to participate. I figure that a blessing before you head down into the mine is the best way to do it...Pelor knows that after working all day, I would be more interested in a mug of ale than sitting around listening to me speak."

"And now that my introduction is done...I need an ale too. It was a long walk from Greyhawk." he grins, and walks over to the bar.
