I have an idea for a character, but I need to verify the way the rules works. I'm wondering if I can use the "Adopted" trait to get "Shoanti Tattoo" even though my character is not human?
I'm running a group of friends through Second Darkness, and in book 3 "Armageddon Echo" they checked out a temple in the city. Inside the altars they found weapons relating to one of the four gods within the temple (Calistria, Findeladlara, Ketephys, and Yuelral). Now originally, I had only thought of these items as relics of the temple with no real purpose. But some of my players took the way I described the items and the altars so that the items must have some other purpose. So since the temple they were found in is called the "Temple of the Watchers" what could 4 Elven gods be guarding that a group of 6 characters around level 9 to 10 might find fun or challenging?
Hey all, I'm running a group through the Second Darkness adventure path. They just got into the third book (Armageddon Echo) and were a bit behind on xp so I ran them through the set piece, Lament for the Emerald Rains. Now they've finished the ghost of the place and are ready to loot the ruins, but the items that they call out for in the book seem very unreasonable for a group to be lugging around (man sized horns, a dozen porcelain dishes that can be used as an instrument, ect.) Anyone have some suggestions for music or art flavored items that could be put into an Elvin school for music?
Hey all, just wanted to confirm something. I was looking through items and came across the Traveling Garden, which is a kit for a heavy wagon, and would fit pretty well for one of my characters. But when I went looking for a heavy wagon, I found some conflicting info. Heavy Wagon (Gear) and Heavy Wagon (Combat Vehicle) The first is in the gear section of Ultimate Equipment, while the second comes from the Combat Vehicles section. The main thing that I'm looking at is that the two versions require different amounts of animals to pull them (8 medium/4 large or 4 medium/1 large). Which one do I use? I'm mainly asking for a PFS character.
With the release of the ACG, I have been looking at making a Bolt Ace. But when I began looking for special arrows (such as the durable, bleeding, etc from Alchemy Manual) I noticed that there really aren't many special bolts like that. I had heard that somewhere there was a mention of a rule stating that the special arrows can be made as crossbow bolts, but I haven't seen that rule. So my question, for PFS play, can the special arrows from the Alchemy Manual and any other books be made into crossbow bolts?

You are goblins of the Licktoad tribe, who live deep in Brinestump Marsh, south of the hated man-town called Sandpoint. Once other goblins tried to burn Sandpoint down, and they would have been legends if they had succeeded. But they didn't bring enough fire, and got themselves killed as a result. Yesterday, your tribe discovered that one of your own had been using forbidden arts and was engaged in one of the greatest taboos - writing things down. In fact, rumor holds that what he was writing was a history of your tribe! There's no swifter way to bring about bad luck than stealing words out of your mind by writing them down, and so your tribe had no choice. You branded the goblin's face with letters to punish him, which is why everyone calls him Scribbleface now, and then you ran him out of town, took all of his stuff, and burned down his hut. That's where things got interesting, because before you all burned down his hut, Chief Gutwad found a weird box within the building. Inside was a map and a lot of fireworks - firworks that immediately came to use in burning the hut down. Then, this morning, Gutwad announced that tonight there would be a feast in order to drive out any lingering bad luck from Scribbleface's poor decision. But perhaps even more exciting, all of you have been secretly invited to meet at Chief Gutwad's Moot House. Why would the chief want to speak to you? It can only mean that he's got an important mission for you all... one that the other goblins of the tribe couldn't pull off. This could be your chance to go down in Licktoad history!

Hey guys. Here is the link to the pregens. Feel free to chose among yourselves.

You are in Absalom, the might City at the Center of the World, and you've always longed to explore one of the countless ruins of failed conquerors that litter the plains outside the city's walls. You've heard rumors that one of the sealed siege castles has been laid open by a minor earthquake. Word on the street is that no one has yet entered the tower, which folks are calling the "Fallen Fortress." What better way to start a life of excitement and adventure than by exploring its long-abandoned, dusty halls and perhaps claiming its ancient treasures? It is assumed that the group has joined forces to explore the tower. Please feel free to introduce your characters before you set out. The fortress is only a few hours from the city.

So it looks like my PbP gaming has dried up a bit, so I figure I'll run a few games. I'm looking to run Masters of the Fallen Fortress, The Confirmation, or even We Be Goblins, depending on what people would like to do. I also am up for running a few games if I get enough interest. So please post with your character and what game you're interested in.
Been looking through the ACG and I'm liking the Bolt Ace Archtype for Gunslingers. Though I came up with a problem, are there any other bolts available for crossbows (or repeating versions) beyond the basics. I know there are plenty of special arrows around (blunt, flight, thistle, etc) and don't know if there are options like that for crossbows that are legal for PFS.
Alright, I think I have things right but I want to make sure. I'm looking to pick up Dragonhide Agile Breastplate for my Dragon Disciple Druid. Dragonhide costs twice as much as masterwork armor. So masterwork Agile Breastplate would be 400gp + 150gp, 550 gp. Thus Dragonhide would be 1100. My character has 9 prestige so he should be able to buy this armor. Am I correct, or did I miss something. Also, silly question, but the Dragonhide armor counts as masterwork for the reduced ACP correct?
Hey all, I need some help to see if it can be done. As the title states, I'm looking for a way to get medium armor that can be worn by a druid to count as light armor. Either that or something to reduce the spell failure of arcane spells on medium armor that a druid can wear. The reason behind this, is I want to take my druid up to become a dragon disciple using the bard as my arcane component. Due to my point spread, I don't have much for dex so need to buff my ac by using armor. But bards can only cast spells without failure in light armor. So is there any way to do this?
Hey all. I'm close to finishing up my first PbP where the characters had the option of playing up. I had a table APL of 3 and the group decided to play up to the 4-5 tier. I understand that the characters who aren't at least 4th lvl (or would the 3rd level get the "in tier" gold as well?) will only get the "out of tier" gold, but was wondering about the items. So the question comes, do the players who aren't 4th lvl only receive the items granted by the 1-2 tier or do they gain the higher tier items since they played up. Thanks for any help.
Hey all. I've only been doing society play for a few months now and with a few PbP games coming to an end, I have a couple of characters reaching 2nd level. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on some gear that would be helpful to have on hand for them. I already have healing for them, now it's just I'm not sure what else I should be grabbing for them. Any help? If it matters, I have a druid (dragon shaman), a brawler (acg class), a slayer/magus (skirnir), and an arcanist that are all lvl 2 or close to it. Thanks for any help.
Hey all, had a question that I need some help with on how to handle the situation. I'm currently running a PbP game and in it I have someone who is playing a 1st level character. During the second combat of the game, he suddenly stopped posting. I sent a message to him and received no reply (not that big of a deal, figured he dropped so I'd send him a chronicle and whatnot). Now today I was going through the character that are playing and noticed that the info under his icon had changed. He was playing a fighter for my game, and now all of his info is for a cleric. I can only assume he is using the character in another game. So I sent another message to him and am waiting for a reply, but what do I do in this kind of situation. He technically is playing in my game as a fighter, he can't use the character as a cleric in another without finishing his current game and getting a chronicle, correct?
Hey all, had an issue and needed some advice. I recently purchased a tablet (Samsung Galaxy Note) for use with my PFS games. I play mostly online so figured it would be the easiest way to view my chronicles and other pdfs for the game adn had hoped there was a way to fill out the chronicles. Unfortunately the programs installed, don't do a very good job. I have a pdf viewer but it only allows annotations for edits, and that just doesn't seem to work very well. So does anyone have any suggestions for apps (i'd prefer free, but if it does everything I want I'd buy it too) for viewing and editing pdfs that I receive? Or what do you guys do for the online games and filling out your chronicles? Thanks for any advice I can get.
Hey all, i was making up the chronicles for a group that is close to being done with the adventure and noticed that one of the items (ring of protection +1) that they received from room B4 isn't on the list of items they can purchase. I've heard that the Chronicle sheet has had some error, is there a revised copy or do I just write in the item and initial next to it? Or can they not actually acquire that item from this adventure?
Discussion board is up. If I could get the following info from you guys that would be great. 1: Player Name
Also I would like to get the following as the basic info that comes under your character when you post. Basic Stats:
HP: 12/12 | AC: 18/13/17 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +3 | Init: +1 | Perc: +3 | CMB: +4 | CMD: 15 | Halberd: +4; 1d10+4| Longbow: +2;1d8| Thanks guys.
For a PFS PbP game i jumped into, I threw together a druid. The game got done and now I"m looking at my druid and don't think it's quiet the character I wanted. I know with PFS I can redo my character until I play him at lvl 2. So I want to change him to a bloodrager from the ACG. I know I want him to be human and one of his fist feats to be Power Attack, I'm thinking the other Fey's Foundling. What I need is some advice for traits and a bloodline (currently looking at Fey or Elemental, still kinda trying to keep with the druid premise.) Eventually I'm looking at taking him into the Dragon Disciple prestige class. So any help for traits, feats, or bloodlines?
In the shadow of the cyclopean Cyphergate that spans Riddleport's harbor, the PCs find themselves embroiled in a dangerous plot of deception that one could only find in Varisia's infamous pirate port. "The Cyphermage Dilemma" was originally an exclusive adventure, run only by 4-star Pathfinder Society GMs, Venture-Captain and Venture-Lieutenant campaign volunteers, and Paizo staff for its first year, but has been revised and updated for public release. Written by Patrick Renie. This game is part of the Official Pathfinder Society PbP Game Day. For more information please visit: PbpGameday.com If you are interested, please reply with your character.
I'm currently running "The Confirmation" scenario and have run into a few questions. I've tried looking through the boards, but am still confused. 1: For the chronicle sheet, I cross out any of the items that I didn't pick to be found in the room B4: Undead End, right? 2: My group met with Uori and talked with him, but were unable to maek him anything more than indifferent. Does that mean that they didn't "negotiate" with him so I have to reduce their gold? 3: Finally, since this scenario is a repeatable one. If I run this more than once, do I get GM credit for each time or only the first time I run the scenario?
I have a PFS character (gnome arcanist) that is looking to buy a mount. Mainly I'm just looking for something that will serve to haul my character's equipment, not get into the fights. I found the ostrich in Osirion, Legacy of the Pharaohs book and thought that it would be fitting for my character (he's from Osirion). So my question comes down to, do I just have to pay the price listed in the monster entry for a trained ostrich that can carry my stuff (with the appropriate saddle) or is there something more that needs to be done? I've tried looking through other posts, but most everything else deals with animal companions and such.
The invitation delivered last night was remarkably simple, especially given the importance of the occasion: “Start where it all began. Meet us at the Pig’s Paunch one hour before dawn.” The Pig’s Paunch is a run-down building with a faded sign of a large pig standing on its hind legs, arms folded above a corpulent belly. Inside, the air is thick with the scents of human sweat, stale tobacco, and leftover food. In the center of the room, surrounded by inebriates sleeping off their revelries, a familiar elven man stands high upon top of a large round table. “Welcome! Welcome, my students! Please, have a seat!” With that, Kreighton Shaine, the Pathfinder Society’s Master of Scrolls, nimbly drops down to sit cross-legged on the table before looking about the tavern with a sense of reverent wonder. “Can you believe it? It all started here years ago—well, over four hundred of them at least. Under this very roof the Pathfinder Society was born. But today! Today you will begin your Confirmation! Master
He says as he motions for an excitable halfling woman to approach. She wears a large backpack and carries all manner of tools, pouches, and scroll cases around her waist. Shaine continues, saying, “Janira here will be going with you on your Confirmation. She was one of my brightest pupils and will no doubt be an invaluable resource on your journey, for she discovered the caves you are about to explore
Janira speaks up in an enthusiastic and cheerful voice, “Greetings, aspiring Pathfinders! Six months ago, while I was mapping cave entrances in the foothills of the Kortos Mounts, I witnessed a lone gillman entering a concealed cave. I thought little of it at the time, but I saw another one enter the cave again a month later as my Confirmation retched on. A few days later, after I completed my assigned task, I entered the cave system, but was unable to find the gillmen.” Master Shaine hops to his feet. “Initiates, for your Confirmation, you will travel to these caves to explore and document its many passages. Additionally, and most importantly, you are to learn what the gillmen are up to in there. Oh, and you need to come back alive as well.” With these parting words, the Master of Scrolls jumps off the table and strolls out of the building while humming to himself.

Thanks all for joining me for this. To let you know this is my first time running a game by PbP. I will post as often as I can, I'm usually on most nights after I get my little one down, so I check the boards often. I'm hoping everyone can do at least 1 post a day, but if you all can post more, I'll post more. I'd like everyone to please put a post with the following info: Player name:
And any default action that your character would do if you can't get around to post for a bit. Thanks again all.

Hey all, a new GM here wanting to get his feet wet. I'm looking to run The Confirmation, I have 2 to 3 spots filled but I am still looking for a few more players. Please let me if you're interested and what character you would like to try out. This is a Tier 1-2 scenario that is repeatable for lvl 1 characters and can be played once as a lvl 2.
So I've been batting this PFS character idea around in my head, but am coming up with a bit of a roadblock. I am thinking of doing a magus with the Kapenia Dancer archetype, but would also like to add in the Hexcaster archetype as well. I've looked at the rules for combining archetypes and understand that if both archetypes replace or change a class ability, they can't be taken together. My question comes up from the fact that both archetypes give addition options to the magus arcana ability, granting new options for the magus to take. Is that enough of a change to the ability to make it illegal to use both archetypes, or since it is an optional change it's okay?
Hey all. I've recently gotten into Pathfinder and am thinking of trying to drum up some interest from my local gaming group. My question comes to what are some good PFS modules that I could start off with? I have the "First Steps" one and one other one I picked up in the Golem sale, Master of the Fallen Fortress, but I was hoping to get some advice from others on ones that might help to get some interest from people to start up with Pathfinder. Thank you for any help.
Hey all. I'm a fairly new GM that is going to be starting up Second Darkness for some friends coming up here. I was wondering if there are any tips that other GM's (or players for that matter) that have run through this AP could give me to help make this a fun adventure for my group. Thanks for any advice.
Hey all. I just recently got into PFS, still have yet to play my first game since there isn't much going on in my area so I need to find online games. I made up a character and would just like someone to look it over to see if I missed anything or if there are any glaring mistakes. Thanks for the help. |
