Been reading/listening to a lot of Stormlight Archive lately and we loves it, precious.

I'm considering using Pathfinder as a chassis to run a game set on Roshar. There'd be a lot of homebrew elements. Most magic using classes would not be allowed; instead, classes without magic would be allowed. Those that were interested in becoming Radiants would get a power set that would essentially function as a "free" Sorcerer-type Bloodline.

I'm not quite sure what the plotline for the game would be; it would take place concurrently with the books, though.

As this is not a module but a created campaign the pacing would be slower than some other games.

If enough interest is expressed I'll put up a recruitment.

E-yup, couldn't stop myself from running a Star Wars Saga Edition game.

I just love it so much.

This is going to be a Legends game, friends. Hopefully it will be fun!

Looking for 6 players.

What?:
Star Wars, Saga Edition.

When?:
The game will be starting in 23 ABY.

Where?:
It's Star Wars, man. Freaking EVERYWHERE.

What's the state of the Galaxy?:
The New Republic is in power, but the galaxy is still reeling from years of war. After Admiral Daala's defeat in 19 ABY, Gilad Pellaeon took over as the leader of the Imperial Remnant and signed a truce with the Republic. Their current chief of state is Borsk Fey'lya, a Bothan politician who worked as a spy during the days of the Galactic Civil War.

The Galaxy is healing, but slowly. Years of war have rendered military forces and resources stretched thin in some places, and many outlying systems fall victim to would-be tyrants. But, that's where these guys come in...

What about the Jedi?:
Oh, yeah, they're back and kicking. Luke Skywalker opened a Jedi Praxeum in 11 ABY, and began training students. Some fell to the Dark Side, but most were successful. Some of them are now Jedi Masters in their own right. The Jedi maintain another base on Coruscant, though there are usually only one or two dozen there at any time.

There are about one hundred full Knights or Masters active in the galaxy. Their organizational structure is loose; any Master may choose and train an apprentice, and raise them to a Knight, but only Master Skywalker can declare another master. Outside of the active Jedi, there are perhaps three hundred apprentices training. Many of them are still learning the basics, and receive group instruction, but due to the limited number of Jedi Knights available, most Masters or Knights that have apprentices will have more than one.

    Notable Jedi
  • Master Luke Skywalker
  • Master Kyle Katarn- Battlemaster of the Jedi Order, responsible for overseeing combat training.
  • Master Tionne- A scholar and student of Jedi lore, responsible for teaching the history of the Order (at least, what they have been able to recover) to new students

So...I read the New Jedi Order books:
Cool! I'm planning on a campaign that will replace the canon characters and put YOU in the center of the action. Of course, not everything will be the same, and your actions could lead to wildly different outcomes from what was portrayed in the novels!

So...I never read the New Jedi Order books:
Cool! Don't! This will be a rad journey to that galaxy far, far away! Don't spoil it!

What's the hook?:
You are a new crop of Jedi, or citizens of the Republic working to more regularly integrate the Jedi into the Republic (think like joint military exercises). You will be called upon to serve the Republic and maintain peace and order throughout the Galaxy.

Spoiler alert; it never goes smooth.

Rad. I want to make a character.:
Hell yes. Hell. Yes. Let's do eeeeeeet.

What sourcebooks can I use?:
You can use pretty much any printed or official web enhancement Saga Edition material. That said, there are some things that might not be appropriate for the time period. Certain powers of the ancient Jedi have been lost, and some of the weirder Force powers have yet to be discovered. If you want to do something that you think might not make total sense, just ask and we'll see if we can work something out.

What classes are available?:
All of the base classes. Go nuts.

How about races?:
Pretty much all are open, unless they have yet to be discovered or are extinct.

What level are we starting at?:
We're going to start at Level 1.

How far up will we go?:
To the freaking top, baby. 1-20.

Starting Wealth/Equipment:
Max per your class. Also make sure you pay attention to the Licensing restrictions for any gear you're looking for. All equipment with Availability of Licensed and below can be acquired without issue, and you automatically pass the Licensing Roll. Anything with a Restricted Availability requires you to make the licensing roll or you cannot purchase it. You may make this check twice for any given piece of equipment. Anything with Availability Military or above can only be acquired via the Black Market, and you must pay the Black Market cost in addition to the licensing cost, and making the necessary check.

Any Jedi will automatically start with a training lightsaber, however.

How do we determine attributes?:
I am shamelessly stealing this from GM Phntm888's Saga Edition recruitment;

We will be using the Star Wars: Saga edition Point Buy with a couple of differences. First, instead of all ability scores starting at 8, five ability scores will start at 10, with the sixth starting at 8. You can choose which ability score starts at what. You will then have 28 points to spend increasing your ability scores. Droid characters will receive only 24 points, due the lack of a Constitution score, and only four of their five ability scores will start at 10, with the fifth starting at 8.

Uh, okay. Any other house rules?:
A couple, yeah. One is for the Wealth talent for Nobles. In my game, it keys off of your character level, not your class level. Much more valuable talent that way.

Also, I like the notion of daily force points. We will be using the optional rule in the Jedi Academy Training Manual for Daily Force Points but it will be slightly tweaked; Levels 1-10, you have 2 Force Points per day that refresh with 8 hours of rest. Levels 11-15 you have 3, and 16-20 is 4 per day. The feat Force Boon adds 1 extra Force Point to this daily allotment. Finally, here is a list of house rules, once again shamelessly ripped off from GM Phntm888 that I like;

1. Multiclassing: When you multiclass base classes, instead of taking one of the new class's starting feats, you can choose to take the Skill Training feat in one of the new class's starting skills instead. That way, if you either already have all of that class's starting feats, or none of them fit your concept, you still get something you actually want out of doing so.
2. Skill Focus: Skill Focus now only gives a +3 bonus when you first take it. When you hit level 10, the bonus increases to +6. This is to balance out Skill Focus in lower level play.
3. Force Sensitive feat: I strongly prefer to limit this to only being able to be taken at character creation, since it makes sense to me that someone is Force Sensitive their entire life, and should really only develop it mid-story for plot reasons.
4. Feat progression: You get a feat every odd-numbered level instead of every 3, like in Pathfinder.

Uh, okay, think I got all that. What about Destiny/Background?:
The Destiny system is in play. Nearly every Destiny will see use in this campaign.

The Rebellion Era sourcebook recommends not using the Background and Destiny systems together.

Eff. That. Noise. Let's DO it.

So yeah, we're using both Destiny and Background. Why not?
Naw brah I don't mess with that nonsense.

Any specific way you want me to post my character?:
Yes. Make an alias, throw up a profile with a character sheet. Formatting isn't super important but you can use my character Jordis Valden for reference if you like. Link your profile in the thread and I'll check it out.

What are your expectations re: posting speed?:
I'd like once a day, but as many of my players will tell you, sometimes I have several days where I just don't have time to get a post up. That said, I think I make up for it when I'm around with frequent multi-post days. So from you, just once a day is cool. If something comes up and you're not around a bit, that's cool, I'll just bot you.
Nope. Theater of the mind, friends.

I think I got everything about the mechanics so far. What about character background and such?:
Oh, yeah, hit me with it. I'd like a background (length is up to you but more is better), a description of their appearance and personality, and anything else you want to include.

So I was thinking of a character related to...:
Imma let you finish, but no.

That's not a HARD no, but it's not a soft one either. If you want to be distantly related to certain extant Legends characters, that might be okay; you want to be from the Thul family, or have been a doctor that worked with the renowned Jedi healer Cilghal? That's probably okay. Being Kam Solusar's bitter ex-wife ain't gonna fly.

Okay. Anything I can do to help me get selected?:
Several things.

To me, tabletop isn't a way to just roll some dice. It's a way for us to gather together for a shared storytelling experience, and that's something I love. I'm not going to care how many +1's you can squeeze out of your Soldier at 1st level. I really won't. But if that soldier is a world weary, middle-aged Sullustan that has kept living while his friends kept dying, but tries to carry on anyway and has a secret soft spot for romantic HoloDramas and a gambling problem that he's been in recovery for for a decade and a pet Gualara named Yavin that he won in a game of Sabaac and is sort of mean to everyone but him so he loves Yavin too much to let him go...

That's the guy I want in my game.

I also have a heavy bias to quality writers. I'm sorry, I can't help it. Proper spelling and grammar go a long way.

I get that, but worry I don't know enough about the Star Wars expanded universe to do that well:
Dude, don't worry about that. If you have a great idea for a character, just write it up. I'll Star Wars-ize it for you. I love all sorts of sci-fi and all sorts of characters are appropriate. Like Star Trek? Roll up a Noble for a Picard-type or maybe make a Droid to get some Ol' Yellow Eyes action up there.

Familiar with Firefly? Roll up that Scoundrel with a heart of gold (but always with one hand on the handle of his blaster).

Except Dr. Who. You'll never convince me your plot-holes are delightful, you fez-wearing madmen!

Well. That was a metric ton of material, and I'm sure I still forgot stuff. Hit me with any questions you may have. Thankfully this seems to have taken me through the penumbra of my insomnia so I'm about to pass out. I'll get back to any questions tomorrow!

May the Force be with you!

"But DM Ragnarok", you say, "You're running a recruitment for Strange Aeons! Two games at once? You're a MADMAN!"

Shaddup! I do what I want! You're not my supervisor!

Opening up recruitment for Hell's Rebels! Looking for 4-5 players. Recruitment remains open for 1 week.

Character Creation:
  • Races- Core, Tiefling, Aasimar, Aquatic Elves, Strix, Tengu.
  • Classes- All. Unchained optional.
  • Ability Scores- 25 Point Buy.
  • Wealth- Max by class.
  • Background Skills- Yup
  • VMC- If you want
  • HP- Max ever level
  • Traits- 2, one must be a Campaign Trait. No drawbacks.
  • No third party.

Background:
The more background you have, the better. Feel free to link backstories if you life. I'd also like sections detailing your character's appearance and some basic personality traits.

Let me know if I missed anything. Get crackin'!

Opening up recruitment for Strange Aeons.

Looking for 4 PC's.

Starting level is 1. 3 Traits, 1 Drawback. Max gold for starting classes. Max HP per level. Background traits. All Paizo materials available with proper errata. Nonevil alignments only. All Races available but I tend to like outlandish ones less (that's just my preference). VMC if you want it.

We will be doing something a bit different for ability scores.

You may designate an Ability Score as Favored, Normal, or Unfavored. For a Normal Ability Score, you start at 10, then roll 1d6 before adding racial modifiers. For a Favored ability score, you start at 15 and then roll 1d3 to be added in. However, for every ability you designate as Favored, you must make one ability Unfavored. This ability will start at an 8, and you will roll 1d6 and add it to the total.

You may roll two sets of attributes and choose the more favorable one.

Unchained is available if desired, but it is not required.

Recruitment will be up for one week.

For background, I would like you to flesh out a decent character history. This character history, however, will only be known to you as players; it will essentially be locked to your characters. You may only remember up to 1d3 things about your character, and these are vague facts; your name, the names of your parents, where you lived, what your occupation may have been, some food you like, etc. No matter how well fleshed out, though, these backgrounds will not cover the last five years. You as players and as characters will have no knowledge of that time.

You will unlock your character's memory over the course of play, but I will be reserving the right to edit your background basically however I wish to lend the game a bit more of an Elder Mythos or horror feel.

Yep, this means you've gotta trust me.

What could go wrong?

Hit me with any questions, gang, and get some submissions poppin'!

What's good, friends?

One of my games folded to player attrition. I'm only running a few now, so I thought I might tackle one more.

There are several things I might want to do.

1- Pathfinder.
This would be an Adventure Path, most likely either Hell's Rebels, Legacy of Fire or Strange Aeons. If I did Strange Aeons, I might go with a very small group, only two people, and make it a gestalt game.

2- Superhero game.
I'm mutable as to system in this but I'm leaning towards Fate Core with their superhero add-on rules (though I might be able to be persuaded for M&M). There are a couple of games I would want to run in this; either one where you are already established superheroes and are active in society but deal more with social improvement and rescue missions than punching supervillains, or as a group of college-aged potential heroes attending a prestigious training academy and hoping to become licensed as full-fledged Heroes.

3- Legend of the Five Rings.
It would be 4th Edition, and an alternate version of the Second Day of Thunder and Scorpion Clan Coup.

4- 5th Edition.
Storm King's Thunder. 'Nuff said.

5- Scion.
I'd be running The Ragnarok Gambit, the campaign laid out in the ST section of the three main books (so don't read that part, kay?).

Please chime in with any interest and indicate which TWO of those you would most like to see a game created for.

Hey all!

I've recently been getting into the Fate system, and feel like it would make for a pretty great Supers system. I'm also very into the Powers graphic novel and am thinking of doing a game that's set in that universe.

Anyone interested in this?

Brothers will fight together
And become each other’s bane;
Sisters’ children
Their sib shall spoil.
Hard is the world,
Sensual sins grow huge.
There are ax-ages, sword-ages—
Shields are cleft in twain,—
There are wind-ages, wolf-ages,
Ere the world falls dead.

Gods are real. Zeus, Ra, Amateratsu and more besides. They fought their parents, the Titans; primordial forces that the Gods of every pantheon were born of. The Gods, in their youth, full of the power gained from the worship of mankind, overthrew their parents, imprisoning them in Tartarus.

Ages of the world have passed. The Dodekatheon, the Pesedjet, the Loa, the Azlanti and the Amatsukami are all great, in their own ways.

But the Aesir are the only ones that know the truth.

Loud blows Heimdal
His uplifted horn.
Odin speaks
With Mimer’s head.
The straight-standing ash
Ygdrasil quivers,
The old tree groans,
And the giant gets loose.

How fare the asas?
How fare the elves?
All Jotunheim roars.
The asas hold counsel;
Before their stone-doors
Groan the dwarfs,
The guides of the wedge-rock.
Know you now more or not?

From the east drives Hrym,
Bears his shield before him.
Jormungand welters
In giant rage
And smites the waves.
The eagle screams,
And with pale beak tears corpses,
Naglfar gets loose.

A ship comes from the east,
The hosts of Muspel
Come o’er the main,
And Loke is steersman.
All the fell powers
Are with the wolf;
Along with them
Is Byleist’s brother.

From the south comes Surt
With blazing fire-brand,—
The sun of the war-god
Shines from his sword.
Mountains dash together,
Giant maids are frightened,
Heroes go the way to Hel,
And heaven is rent in twain.

Then comes to Hlin
Another woe,
When Odin goes
With the wolf to fight,
And Bele’s bright slayer66
To contend with Surt.
There will fall
Frigg’s beloved.

Odin’s son goes
To fight with the wolf,
And Vidar goes on his way
To the wild beast.
With his hand he thrusts
His sword to the heart
Of the giant’s child,
And avenges his father.

Then goes the famous
Son68 of Hlodyn
To fight with the serpent.
Though about to die,
He fears not the contest;
All men
Abandon their homesteads
When the warder of Midgard
In wrath slays the serpent.

The sun grows dark,
The earth sinks into the sea,
The bright stars
From heaven vanish;
Fire rages,
Heat blazes,
And high flames play
’Gainst heaven itself

Odin crafted the world from the bones of Ymir, and the All-Father, indeed, all of Asgard, has known for millenia; their deaths will come. They have done all they can. They have forestalled the end of days through efforts that tired even the greatest of the Gods...

But they can forestall no longer.

Ragnarok comes. You, their children, are the newest warriors in what will be the most glorious battle ever fought...and perhaps the only chance for even a fraction of humanity to be saved.

SO!
This is my way of saying I'd like to run a Scion game. We will be using the Scion ruleset. If people don't have the books I can provide them via Dropbox.

In brief, you play the children of deities (and mortals; you have only one parent that is a deity). You start as heroes, fighting the dark Titans, and may eventually become Demigods and Gods.

I will only be accepting characters from the Norse pantheon. I am looking for between four to six players.

The Untouchable Opponent knack will not be used in the game.

Epic Perception will add bonus damage to firearms attacks the same way Epic Strength adds bonus damage to melee attacks.

Players will start with their Legend ratings at rank 3; the beginning of Ragnarok is a long prophesied time steeped in myth and legend.

I believe that's it on house rules.

Your characters will begin the game having already received their Visitations. We will play those out in a Prologue, so don't go over how you got your Relics or anything; that will happen in play.

Let me know if anyone has any questions! Recruitment will be open until I have enough characters that I like to run a game.

Hey gang! I've been re-reading some Wheel of Time and enjoying it. I'm toying with the idea of putting together a game set shortly after the end of the books; you would be a group put together by the current rulers of the nations, to help cement alliance and uphold the Dragon's Peace in the new world to come after Tarmon Gai'don.

We would use Pathfinder; someone put together a ruleset for a Wheel of Time game and it's not awful. If people are interested I'll post the ruleset. I'd be looking for no more than 4 players.

"The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater."

The Battle of Five Armies broke the power of the Orcs in Rhovanion...or so it was thought. The Free People have become complacent, and in the Wild, the Shadow still gathers power. Some doom, from what source you cannot guess, guides you on a path that will see the Free People delivered...or destroyed.

Welcome to a recruitment for The One Ring.

We will be using The One Ring Roleplaying Game ruleset, NOT the ruleset that uses 5E.

I am looking for up to 6 players. I will accept one of each "Advanced" culture (Ranger and High Elf). There are several house rules that we are going to take into account;

Advanced Cultures spend Advancement and Experience points in the same fashion as other characters; their cost is not increased.

When creating your character, I would like you all to take an additional 8 points of previous experience.

After you create your characters as per the creation rules, I would like you to take 26 Experience Points and 34 Advancement Points.

All players will start with a Standing of 2.

You are not fresh adventurers; you will have adventured together as a group for some time. Your elevated Standing as well as starting as more seasoned characters is meant to reflect this. Shared backgrounds are certainly permitted and even encouraged.

Once I select characters you will get a summary of your previous adventurers; we will be using the rules in the Rivendell supplement to create a Magical Treasure Index. Everyone will start with one randomly determined item from that index, but since the Index is created to fit the character, obviously I must wait until I select characters to create it.

I will keep submissions open for ONE WEEK, though if I get enough characters I like before then, I may simply pick them and roll on through, as I am eager to begin play.

This will be a LONG campaign; I have it all plotted out already, so I'm looking for players that have commitment and a deep and abiding love for the works of Tolkien.

All material created by Cubicle 7 is available for use; however, there are several rules that I have altered because I like the way they work better. When they become relevant, I'll let you know about them!

I will post at least once a day during the week; I expect you to as well.

I expect all applicants to have full crunch and a background. The background length is up to you, but the more the better.

That's about it. Make me some characters, kids!

I, like I am sure many of you are, am a fan of Game of Thrones. This last episode definitely had some problems, but the set up made me think of what a great table top adventure it would be. Would anyone be interested in playing those characters sent on a mission beyond the wall?

It would be Gendry, Thoros of Myr, Beric Dondarrion, Jorah Mormont, Tormund Giantsbane, Sandro Clegane and Jon Snow.

I would use Pathfinder and likely do something a bit different with recruitment. I might build the characters myself and basically ask for writing samples from people to determine who I select. I would allow whomever I selected to alter the character's build a bit as little not as it fits the character. The plot would differ significantly from that of the show.

Would anyone be interested in a game like this?

You all know it. You all love it. You all want it.

Recruiting 3 players for a Rise of the Runelords game! However, we will NOT be starting right at the beginning of the book. Here's why;

I've ran this game for about three different groups that all fell apart for various, non-game reasons, and if I have to go through the opening scenes again I will vomit. Instead we are going to do things a little differently. First of all, this game will be Gestalt. I will only be accepting THREE players, because I'd rather focus on a small, intimate group. Going Gestalt gives you the edge you need to survive. Don't worry about the difficulty...I'll ratchet it up accordingly :)

A bit about me; I'm a long-time GM and roleplayer, both in person and with PbP. I have an account on this board that I've played under, but wanted to make one to GM with. I'm around multiple times on any given day.

Character Creation:
25 Point buy. Alternatively, you may roll 3d6, drop the lowest, and add 6 to the total. I do ask you to choose either or. If you roll, you get what you roll.
All Paizo material is approved.
Unchained variants of classes MUST be used for Summoners and Barbarians. Monks can pick Unchained or Normal.
We will start at Level 3. HP for each level will have been max; going further into the game, you'll roll, or take average +1.
Standard Wealth by Level. Crafting Feats are valid but may not reduce gear cost before play.
Background skills are in effect.
Combat Stamina is in play, and free for Fighters.
We will be using the suggested alternate feat tax rules presented here.
Unchained Rogues will gain Weapon Focus at 1st Level instead of Weapon Finesse.
3 Traits, one of which must be a Campaign Trait.
No Drawbacks.
Core races preferred. Uncommon and Featured races are accepted.

What I'm Looking For:
Weird as it sounds, the Gestalt is NOT about making your characters super powerful (though that is an undeniable side effect). It's about making sure all your bases are covered mechanically. I'm looking for well thought-out characters, believable personalities with solid motivations. The more background you have, the better your chance of getting in. Since this is a small game, I will expect a minimum of one post per day. More is better.

The Story So Far:
The story so far (for those of you new to the A.P.) is that your characters gathered in Sandpoint, a large village near Magnimar, for the Swallowtail Festival, a celebration sacred to Desna and a time that Sandpoint would have a grand re-opening of their rebuilt Cathedral, which had been burned down five years ago. That day, however, many Goblins attacked! They had never been so bold as to come into the city in numbers like this before! You and some other stalwart adventurers rallied, killing many Goblins and saving many townsfolk. Notable among the people you helped and allies you won were Ameiko Kaijutsu, Sheriff Belor Hemlock, Mayor Kendra Deverin, Father Zantus, and Aldern Foxglove.

After enjoying some newfound fame as local heroes, you came down for breakfast at The Rusty Dragon, the inn run by Ameiko. She was missing, and had a suspicious letter from someone called Tsuto. Upon traveling to the Glassworks, you found the workers murdered by Goblins. You fought them, and found Tsuto in charge of them, and defeated him as well. You managed to take him alive. You found out that Tsuto was Ameiko's half-brother, and that Tsuto had killed their father, Lonjiku, encasing him in molten glass in a macabre display of cruelty.

You found Ameiko captive in the basement of the Glassworks, and rescued her. You found that the facility extended downwards, and explored dark ruins, facing bizarre aberrations and a demonic quasit. Upon triumphing, you returned and rested.

Information you have found has led to the knowledge that the Goblin assault on Sandpoint is far from over. You were introduced by a shaken but recovering Ameiko to Shalelu, an Elven ranger, who gave you some more information. The Goblin tribes are gathering at Thistletop. Your group must travel there and rid Sandpoint of the threat before the Goblins grow too strong to overcome!

More specific information will be revealed when players are chosen and the game starts.

I think that about does it!

If anyone has any questions, please let me know!
