This is the last thing I'm going to post on this because A) it is not the intent of this thread and B) you probably have some baggage/issues about people claiming status over others and have clearly made up your mind on this and I doubt there's little I can say to change it. You seem to be focused exclusively on that one phrase and ascribing emotions and motivations to it that are not present in the rest of the post. It was a call to action (e.g. Buy now!) and expression of the merits of sanctioning. These are a common way to motivate people to do something. It might be couched in the terms of a demand but so are most forms of advertising. I doubt this was intended to set up a frame work nor, given context, was it likely intended to be a demand on the organized play people on the sole merit of being a 'most loyal customer.' Finally, I would counter that digging into someone this much over a single line is crappy, especially when that one line is not even the main point of their argument. They've been polite and contentious.

Book reader 2/Japanophile 1/ Ahh, two rules saying they trump each other! What ever shall we do? Thanks for running a table of both of these and thank-you Farol for the invitation! I'm excited for this... I'm not sure which we should play first, but I have a leshy bard for the PF2 bounty and might have a Precog for the SFS one (the Precog might have leveled out...)
Spoiler:
Book reader 2/Japanophile 1/ So sorry for not posting for a while. Life has been busy recently. I'm moving from all of the schools I teach at and my base school closed down so I was running around helping them clean-up, move things around and get rid of unnecessary things or stuff with personally identifiable information. It's sapped my energy and time. Things will be settling down next week, and I should be able to post more regularly.
Spoiler:
Book reader 2/Japanophile 1/ I know there's more than a few pregens at the table, but I absolutely love playing with GM Doug and don't have any charaters above level 3 free to play in this special with, so third pregen checking in. I'll take a look at party composition and see about who to bring. I'm thinking either Sheelah or Kyra for the healing.
Spoiler:
Book reader 2/Japanophile 1/ Mostly for the flavor of following all of the sun deities (via Touch of the Sun) with a conrasu versus picking one. If needed I could readily pick one of them instead. Thanks for the response, I'll go check with the rules forums now.
Spoiler:
Book reader 2/Japanophile 1/ I know this isn't the best place to ask rules questions, but I was wanting to double check I am not missing something obvious before asking in the rules forums. Can a cleric with the Syncretism feat choose a pantheon as their second deity?

It's campaign mode most likely. There was no need to own the sources for the uncommon or rare features of the pregens in Sundered Waves. You shouldn't need to buy a book to try the character designs intended to show off the book. (I mean it has line about when the book comes out [which is wrongly stated as next week] after all.) I really enjoy the idea of psyche being a three stage effect. As for how it lasts and such not it might be an 'after x rounds, your mind has strained too much and your psyche goes dormant again. It can't awaken again until after you spend ten minutes to Refocus.' It'd be interesting if the awakened state was different based on the subconcious mind/concious mind, but the unleashed state based on whatever psyches you have access to. That would bring it closer in-line with what the playtest has given us, so the current Unleash feats don't all get scrapped and that design space can also still be explored.
Spoiler:
Book reader 2/Japanophile 1/ I might end up with a little more GMing on my plate than normal, but I'd love to run a scenario for you Shifty, what with all of the scenarios you've GMed for me in the past and these one-shots are a good length for me. If you'd like I can save a spot for you.
Hrmm, if psyches are kept being unleashed at round 3 (maybe round 2 on the rare case) then maybe the base one that the class gets should allow the Psychic to avoid Incapacitation effects on spells from spell slots while unleashed, but give anyone who would normally benefit from the boost in saves to instead gain a +2 to their save. Makes is so things can still critically fail a spell saving throw, but are less likely to in general.
Given the level 1 feat that gives you a bonus to charisma checks when under the effects of a mental spell or after having cast one that round, you can get a pretty good bonus to social skills depending on your subconscious mind. Outside of that, they don't have great out of combat utility. Would it be a problem to suggest that one of the cantrips given by each conscious mind have an out of combat usability? Yes, take care that it's not a problem if it's spammed, with the realization that if you trigger combat there's a chance that one can walk into combat with less than full focus points. I feel few other classes would be willing to wait for regular focus point refilling without combat, making the chances to spam out of combat amps and still having in combat amps available without Unleashing less likely.
Each new book that comes out makes me really wish I had waited on building my SFS solarion instead of just using the CRB. Whoever wrote the Electrical Attunement alternate class features did a really good job of making something mechanically interesting and two balanced states where either option gives choices.

It does matter though. Paizo isn't publishing in house nor in country so the books need to arrive at their warehouse before they can ship. This time they delayed the delivery of products as they hadn't received the Starfinder release for this month and some people subscribe to both not to mention physical game stores that want copies to sell as well, and all of those people would loathe to pay more for a second shipment. I understand waiting is frustrating but it was the best course of action for everyone.

Book reader 2/Japanophile 1/ Multi table specials, large group events where multiple tables of players are working towards a common goal. They tend to be the starting point or ending point of a story arc for the season and have stricter posting schedules, but are good fun to play s you sometimes have interaction or support from other tables. I've only ever played them online, but I hear in person it's a different atmosphere.
Hrmm probably not an errata, but definitely possibly needs a clarification. The Conrasu in Lost Omens:The Mwangi Expanse, have a sunlight healing ability that can be used on themselves once a day and then they become temporarily immune. But the Eite of Light heritage gives them the option to heal another creature with this ability other than themselves. So could a conrasu with enough time and sun heal multiple people 1 at a time or is this supposed to still only be a once per day thing? Assuming that the fox is trotting and not running at top speed in short bursts, (which hitting your top speed from a stand still and then stopping again in 2 seconds would be hard to achieve) 10 feet per action isn't too unrealistic. The red fox trots at about 4-8 mph. At 4 mph they move about 5.8 feet per second, and there might be some time needed to start moving and stopping, so 10 feet per two seconds isn't unrealistic. If we went with the higher value of 8 mph, a speed of 15-20 feet would possibly be more realistic. For game balance, yeah moving faster might be better, though.
If there was ever a chance for me to play in person (the Pathfinder community in rural Japan is... well... almost non-existent) I think I would still do the exact reverse of that. I have a good working version of a character sheet on here and links or copies of text of most of the important rules I would need. I would do this for VTTs too if using their own sheets weren't significantly smoother.

I can tip in internet cookies! Also Salaish, you can hold onto items and weapons and still cast most spells in this generation. Only material components require a free hand to cast and those spells are almost invariably three action spells. Unless you wanted to for roleplaying reasons, Salaish could keep a hold of her rapier. But then if she's dreading burning the place down then yeah I'd drop the weapon too and focus on that.
Paizo is still a relatively small company and most of their shipping logistics is run in house from their own headquarters in Seattle. To upgrade logistics would require them to either A) open a warehouse in Europe somewhere, or B) subcontract out to a European/international shipping company to handle receiving, packing, and shipping the products to customers. A needs a large capital investment, and B would be ceding control of quality timelines to the other company. However, more than anything, both would require a large and reliable customer base in where ever they extend to, I think there was one time that Paizo contracted Amazon to deliver the international orders for the release of the Pathfinder 2e Core Rulebook. Trust me, as someone living in Japan, I know that getting anything shipped from the US is flipping expensive, but 'upgrading their logistics' is probably fairly difficult to accomplish unless there's significant demand for overseas orders.

Even if you subscribed, the options won't be legal until after the con most likely. Soo, a couple of ways around this, 1 you could GM the scenarios instead and earn GM chronicles. 2, play with a pregen and apply the chronicles but don't finalize the character until the book releases. (I think that works, the free rebuild is until the character is played at 12 xp or higher, right, pregens don't count for that right?) |
