I've signed up -- now the hard part... what character to bring... :)

Cleric, Druid (w/cat), Swashbuckler.. that is the question...

You can decide that after you have a general idea of party composition.

Horizon Hunters

I put my proposed character and first DM choice on the sheet.

Anyone have a session starting up for a fresh level 1? I started my first game earlier this week but have bandwidth for another PBP and a ton of character ideas :)

Recruiting for 1-01 The Absalom Initiation. This is a tier 1-4 repeatable scenario.

First come, first serve for up to 6 players.

Recruiting for 1-03 Escaping the Grave. This is a tier 1-4 with the Envoy's Alliance tag.

First come, first serve for up to 6 players.

Spots are full for this one!

I know the feeling... trying out different things to find out what I really want to play!

I currently have 4 players and will begin shortly. Last call for up to 2 more players.

Spots are now full for this one as well!

So just put my info up?

Nevermind. I asked too late.

Alright there seems to be some interest, at least 3 people who weren't able to join the round robin group 1, so, why not get another group going?

Signups are here, I've left places open but tried to keep the three people who have expressed interest in mind. I can fill a spot if needed, but I'd prefer if other people got a shot at this first.

Do you know when this is planning on starting?

We only seem to have two people signed up, so unless there's more people interested, there's barely enough for a legal table.

Vigilant Seal

I cant sign up as I don't have enough experience to gm.

Jaune Bolten III wrote:

I have zero experience GM'ing PbP. If you want to learn this would probably be the best way to do it (in a controlled environment). Think of it as on-the-job training :)

Like UncleFroggy said, there's nothing that says you have to have X experience to GM. It's highly, highly reccommended you have some knowledge of the game system and play-by-post before you GM your first game, but you don't have to. Actually having a group of people who realize it's your first time and who would be willing to give constructive advice is not a bad idea at all.

The only GM experience I have is at work where I GM 2 groups of players who essentially roll dice to beat the stuffing out of monsters. While it makes it an easy group to GM, you don't really learn anything from it -- so, all told, while I have some GM experience, I really wouldn't consider what I do actual experience... I'd love to learn to GM players who actually know what they're doing :)

Wait, I just saw a long chain of comments that I got lost in. What's the deal here? You are exchanging table slots to GM for the same group later down the line?

Can anyone give me a quick rundown?

I also might be interested in joining the round-robin. I've GMed quite a lot, but never GMed for PFS. I'd need some help with the finer details of GMing for PFS, as well as on reporting, but I'd be willing to run something! What are the scenarios being discussed for the round-robin?

We are looking at getting a group of GMs and players together for a Round-robin set up, where each player at the table runs one game in turn and plays at the other tables. There was a previous group who was looking at doing quick runs of the repeatable scenarios and that's what is planned for so far.

This might end up being a group where a number of people are learning about GMing, so I think that would be more than fine for you to join in.

As for the scenarios we are looking at, the repetable scenarios or bounties would be the preferred scenarios as anyone could play at them. The non-repeatable scenarios might mean some of the table has played the scenario and it gets much more complicated.

Alright. I'm down. is there a list of available scenarios? I looked at the spreadsheet but it stated the pack is complete.

You might have found the first group's sign ups. The second group is here

I think I'd like to try this too. I've only played one PbP quest and it was my first PFS experience but I've got 25+ years of GMing experience.

Do I just put my name on it or wait until someone tells me to?

I presume I'd also need to purchase the scenarios?

GM Sedoriku wrote:

No, that's the sheet I saw. It states STOP! No more room! in cell A12

So I'll slap my name in A15 B15 and that's the second group?

Go ahead and put your name in where you want to. This is not part of a convention and thus doesn't get scenario support though. If that's a problem, scenario gifting is a thing.

Oohhh, I see. EDIT: Any of the *OPEN* places are open. Delete that and add your name in.

Not a problem to buy them. A bit of extra cash for Paizo :)

I'll pop my name in one of the gaps.

Alright. I'm in

Done. I'm in too.

A recruitment is now open for Quest 11 Parchment Tree (1-4, non-repeatable quest).

The Reserved spot goes for kuey, who asked for 1XP content for his lvl 3.

The recruitment is not first-come-first-served but will be opened for 24 hours.

Vigilant Seal

Sorry, but right now I am uninterested in GMing. I am still far too new.

Mr Tea, you planning to bring Eldon? Agonizing on whether to use a new character or your old pal Lokaloka :)

I am tempted by bringing Eldon. Maybe I will change my mind from the Oracle.

Just as a side-note for those wanting to GM but who feel unsure: I feel that PbP is a great place to start.
You have time to go and check the rules, think things over etc., before answering anything, or having your NPCs react, so the pressure is really reduced (at least that is what I feel), vs. dealing with things in real time on tabletop.

Likewise! That's why I come to enjoy it immensely. You're not on the spot to answer or to resolve an issue...

Horizon Hunters

It looks like we have 5 fir the round robin.

Signed up! Quick Q, are any of the other scenarios level 1 only, or just Pathfinder Trials? I have an alchemist who's level 1 but has 2 scenarios under his belt. He'd be level 2 after PT.

EDIT: You know what? I'm just going to bring in a fresh character, so no worries.

Horizon Hunters

This should be fun, I am wanting to try out an eldritch archer.

PF2e Round Robin Group 2, I've sent out PMs. If anyone is still interested, we have room for one more!

Vigilant Seal

And once again I shall repeat the same stance, for now I don't feel comfortable gming. I just want to play for now. I;'ll come to it when I can.

Horizon Hunters

I love the round robin idea! Unfortunately, I am not free currently to run/participate in another game, so I am bummed that I can't join in. Once I finish up one of my current games, I may look into starting another, similar group!

Got it. I will be responding this pm when I get home.

I am interested in joining RR2, if there is still a spot. I added my name to the list yesterday, but then see PMs went out on Tues, so maybe I missed it? No worries either way, but I have always like the round robin groups I have been in.

I see you found the PM. I was trying to limit posting here again as we've been fairly disruptive to the recruitment thread.

I’ll be getting back into town Monday. Maybe there is a RR3?

I’ve run games in person but never by post and was thinking of giving it a go with the Round Robin if other people were OK. If there’s another group, I might join in.

Vigilant Seal

Alright, time to look for a new opening.
