I have a busy two+ weeks coming up (Two weddings, and international travel). I will still be checking in, but I'll likely be slower to respond to time sensitive things but otherwise I should be able to keep up and update characters as I go. Both Bork and Sir Goodshanks have botting instructions available in their profiles, so please don't let me hold any combat rounds up and lose momentum.
Sorry guys. Just got back from a vacation without the laptop. As it turns out, my new job has been wonderful for a lot of things- first and foremost for life/work balance and almost never having to do work at home after hours. But, that also means I will go several days without picking up my laptop at home... and I have quickly lost track of my online games. Thanks for tolerating my absence for the end of the series (and the last one as well). I know as a player that is hard
PbP, in general, has taken a big back seat to my life. I like this group (and Ebonfists GM style) a lot and would happily play in any of the options provided. I just don't have any starfinder or PF2 characters so I would be starting at level 1 in either of those scenarios. I have never done seeker 1e content- Kal is my first character to "level out". I would be up for any PF1 seeker content. IRL I play/GM exclusively PF2 and enjoy it quite a lot, but as mentioned I would be creating a new level 1 character for society purposes I have played starfinder 2-3 times. I might have an old character somewhere? This would be my least preferred of the three options- mostly because I so unfamiliar with the system/rules/etc. Player Name: RxGus
Tanssi chews at the sticky chords still draped about them, before clawing at the fighter with both of their paws. Depite now being free from most of the webs, it is still unable to make any contact with the creature. Bite Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Claw #1: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 - 2 = 5 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

But, that buys time and keeps revenue streams open long enough for a join collaboration of open gaming to have a chance. Making a non-dnd SRD would revitalize the market pretty quickly.
Pivoting to face the new threat, Kal utters a deep and gravelly growl through his fangs.
Claw #1, PA: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27 Damage: 1d6 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 25
After looking at the build, I think I am going to skip on the urban barbarian. GM- If you don't mind, I might take you up on the offer to create a "chained" Summoner. I am not sure when I will get another chance to play one. Then, if we decide to keep the band together, I can easily "tweak" them back into an 'unchained' version for continued PFS play.

I agree. I often feel like PFS becomes a formality- especially with 6 well built characters. Not that I like PC deaths or anything, but the sense of needing to play a combat well to escape is some of my enjoyment in the game.
Don't allow my wishy-washy-ness about PFS credit change the game. I am happy to play along with any set of design/rules/campaign mode. If we all start at 1, we will all end at 4, correct? Three levels in game? Some character ideas:
I built an urban barbarian 'witch hunter' that I used for a one shot- whom I loved... but he would be a slow starter. I am still open to the concept though. Otherwise, my "to play" list involves:
Well. I guess I am willing to step into PF2. But only because I like you guys ;) I have a halfling cleric made (not registered), and I am half considering making Paemil into a PF2 druid to continue the story line. I added the APG. There is still a lot of "lost omen" books that I could add. But I will stay simple for now. Thanks!
I am going to Lazarus this thread a little. I have a group of 6 PC's that are going through SA. I have come really close to killing them several times in the assylum, but a little luck and a little pulling back on my part and all 6 of the original are still alive. That said, I have needed, on several occasions, to increase the difficulty of encounters so they don't walk right through it. They have been exploring Thrushmore for two sessions now- have cleared the druid, fought Nemira's ghost each night, had the revenant nearly eviscerate its target, had a scuffle with several Iris Hill guards just outside of guard house, and just leveled up to 5. I have prepped Fort Hailcourse as a challenge for them at APL 6- but I am increasingly convinced that in their next session they will storm Iris Hill. I know that author says to do everything you can to get them to Hailcourse first. I have tried it all, and no luck. So I am looking for some advice and to get feedback on an idea I wanted to run with. Question #1
Question #2
My current plan:
The second half of that plan would be a lot like the Battle of Trunau in GiantSlayer. A series of building/large maps where they would encounter the contents of the fort in very rapid succession (with several encounters combined). It would be time sensitive, and push them to defend/attack without significant breaks between encounters. What Fort encounters would you combine? I am thinking about leaving the oozes in the fort, along with Tilsitari- so they might be surprised when they go to clean out the Fort thinking everything was gone. Combining DEGGORHBAATHA and ITSQAAL-THOAL into one encounter makes sense, but is really scary since I added PC levels to each. That leaves probably 2-3 waves of skum, plus 2-3 waves of the undead. What are your thoughts? Anything major I would blow-up from a plot standpoint? If the PC's get overwhelmed, I would also have Winter/Cesedia in my back pocket to rescue them. I might even have the two of them fight their "own" encounters in the view of the PC's so they feel like its all hands on deck defending the town.
This thread has been really really useful as I have prepared to start this AP soon (2 days!), so thank you to everyone who as contributed their experiences and ideas for the good of other people who are going to run it! I would like to "plant" an item on each of the PC's starting equipment lists that could provide another link to the story, add a unique and immediate "unknown" to each character, and serve as a glimpse into their history. I have 3 figured out but would love suggestions for other three. PCs and loose backgrounds
Ischell has very little to offer in terms of skills. Other than a significant ability to self heal during combat, he plays like a pretty typical reach fighter. Threatens a full 25ft range (including adjacent) with 2 AoO, and 3 attacks/full round (Flurry of blows, stacks with haste). Primary weapon is Adamantine and Trip, so he can also sunder weapons/armor or trip/stop movement if that is move valuable then dealing damage. He also has ER against Fire(4) Cold(4) Acid(3) and Electricity(3)
Alright! I’ll do something Arcane- considering either an arcanist or witch since I have never played either class. I’ll have something concrete by tomorrow evening? Our f2f group is meeting right after work today and we are trying to squeeze in a long session- so character creation may be a little limited for me tonight.
I'll hold off on making my decision until everyone else checks in. Seems like we are missing anything arcane. I suppose I could always roll a sorc or wizard instead of the BR. I am not a huge "party balance" guy, but it seems silly to be unbalanced when one of the reasonable options on the table is creating an XP zero character.

As an aside- whats the plan after this game? I am looking ahead to Kal and am trying to get a feel for when this might wrap up, and if there was another following it. I know we loosely talked about running a whole series of the tapestries but I wasn't sure how long that series would go. Thanks!
I would certainly be willing to do that. I have never actually played an original barbarian. I came back to PFS after unchained was released, and so UC are the only variants that I know. Now that I think about it, I have never played a barbarian in PF. My wife has played two, and helped her with those builds, but I never played one of my own.
PFS requires that you use the UC Summoner, and the other three are all PFS legal. I didn't see the second rule in recruitment, so I will have to withdrawal Halros, as he is an UC Barbarian. Everyone certainly has equal rights to opinions about the UC classes. For me, I think it is better to admit error and rebalance classes that were under powered (or overpowered, in the case of the summoner) than to just say "guess no one will ever play these three classes because we got it wrong the first time".
Thanks DG. It doesn't seem ideal to throw an Urban Barbarian in with a skald since he can't make use of any of the Skalds powers. I know I didn't post him here, but I do have the Monk 4/Cleric 4 archer build, or would be willing to make a straight cleric/war priest as other options. If it doesn't end up working out, thanks for opening spots regardless!
