A small hand runs along the upper edge of the chest as a halfling with dirty blond hair inspects the chest before coming to a stop, pondering.

"We could look into getting one of those magical bags. That might be best to keep it out of site. Otherwise we could pose as merchants and try to hide it in plain site with similar chests," states Roscoe, rather dryly.

How did you setup permissions for the chronicles? It's probably easiest to set it up as open to anyone that has the link, but if you wanted to limit it to the folks here, then do you want us to request access with each email account?

Oh, I've DM'd PbP before. I was just looking for a guide on how to set that up in the Paizo forums - does that have to correspond to setting up an event? Are there tools to auto-generate the .pdfs for chronicles that you get access to, or do you have find your own way to electronically sign them?

There's pros and cons, but I do agree that the extra time allows for the proper narrative to flesh in the details that people might not add during game play.

Otherwise we'll be really limited to just 1 person engaging 1-1 at each end? Assuming the folks in the hallway move back, Roscoe will ready an action to swift-vanish attack a threat as it comes into view, then close the door. Maybe he can down one really quick with a sneak attack.

Just to confirm - the balcony is the white section in the octaganol room, and the red dot is where we were fighting the goblins previously? The red dot would have been where Roscoe was keeping tabs for them to return to while the plan was under discussion. The hallway that Kridash and Vornsk are in now - that essentially has a door to the lower level and the stairs up to the balcony? It's ok that we got moved around and going off what's there now - but I just wanted to make sure I was interpreting things correctly.

Moving along the passage, Zzorn calls back to the others to have a closer look at the door when he suddenly feels a bit of resistance greet his shin when he is still about twenty feet away. Oops... [dice=Pokey Smashy Book Trap Attack]1d20+15 vs Zzorn's FF AC
[dice=Damage]1d4+2

And though Zzorn makes a valiant attempt to avoid the swinging plank by twisting toward the right-hand wall, still it smacks painfully against his shoulder.

Taking at look at the cunning trap, the adventurers find a few oddities. The spikes driven through the heavy board might have been a bit more effective if not for the myriad of books driven through them, their bindings spread open so that the pages can be seen.

There do not appear to be any runes carved on this door, nor any traps that can be found. And though most of the books are ruined, a metal bookplate is attached to the cover of one, its surface carved with runes in a foreign language.

Determining that the door is no threat, Zzorn opens it and finds a hallway running north to south, its walls carved with images of fire and destruction. Humanoids from many races peer out from the flames in the upper portions of the carvings, their faces alight with excruciating pain. The lower two feet of the carvings show other figures on hands and knees, their faces toward the north, the brutal fires just above their backs.

Near the center of the hallway on a low plinth stands the statue of a cruel-faced woman wielding a ranseur in her right hand. Her left hand gestures to the south, giving the impression it is the source of the carved flames. A large bronze plaque is affixed to the southern wall of the passage, covered in spiky, spidery runes.

Each of the party member's shuffle forward to peek into the hallway to get a glimpse of what lies beyond the door.
