Male? I'm actually a half-turtle. Antipaladin 8/Paladin 12
I'm gonna be back and ready to post in about 9 hours, sorry for the prolonged absence. I think we'll be okay tempo-wise, but maybe we would like to just take a break until May 3rd and see if we can contact Calistria in that time to reel her back in? That seems good to me.

Hey guys I'm getting on the plane back home from China to the U.S., won't be posting until probably Sunday or Monday (conservative estimation.) If I can post in transit I will. I will try to re-do Hectors' round 1 action. I will have to figure out how he'd process it all and what he'd choose to do. If the round goes on without me as I'm traveling, you can have him default to doing anything to protect the tomes and Kendra. He's out of spells currently, so all he has are skill checks, extra flanking bonuses, and sneak attack damages.

And about the thread; i just don't want our pace to become a stone's crawl, because that's how PbP's die. I'm not perfect at this either, but can we try to post at least once a week?

Vorelloex will continue to be as a moody teenager... if we run across anything that resembles a mage he will auto-rage and try to smash it.

Hi! I want to do a campaign that's focused on exploration, complex problems, with a lot of options presented for players to try to overcome those obstacles... and apply that sort of style of problem solving to combats and things other than ancient relic puzzle things. I don't want to overdo it, because that could make combat more about finding the right 'button' to press among a hundred and take the struggle out of it, but I feel like it could add a lot of depth to gameplay. Like, I'd want to present several objects and features which the players could think to manipulate to help aid them in their tasks, which aren't always straightforward... does that make sense? I'm wondering if there are any tools out there or materials that exemplify this style of gameplay I want to emulate, or if any of you have any GM'ing experience with this sort of thing? Any pitfalls or things to look out for? I want to present complex problems to my players to which the right answer is seldom "just hit it, really freaking hard." And I want to do it as well as I can, which your wisdom could help me do. Thanks in advance people :)
Well, if there is a WW3 scenario, it could get political in ways certain people would be uncomfortable with and get hairy. I'm not opposed to anything, but I wouldn't want to offend anyone. Because of that, I think that having a fantastic sci-fi source of international provocation be the basis for the world war rather than something racial, religious or political would be perfect and add to gameplay. Some possible cool ones could be a transhumanist movement that goes too far, backed by perhaps one country that takes it all the way with an off adgenda. (Like, transhumanists with Nazi-ish ideologies.) This group could even be tied to a non-political tie. (Like Google.) Most of my ideas are based off of science touching something that it probably shouldn't have, like reviving dinosaurs, extending human lifespans (or other transhumanist thingies), finding actual alien life, internet rights issues extrapolated into crazy places, etc. Then all the national scientists of the world squabbles over what's right to do with it or not, and then countries and politics get involved, and then nuclear war starts. For the plausibility of a nuclear apocalypse, perhaps science's big bad discovery actually went crazy and uncontrollable en masse, and as nuclear war was taking place against humans, more nukes had to be used to wipe out science's threat, creating the post-apocalyptic nuclear anarchy. We could then introduce that fantastic sci-fi element into the post-apocalyptic mundane world, and then it doesn't matter what race or nationality a person is. As far as character ideas go...
Thus, probably a mundane expert. How available is electricity on average in your projected scenario?
I wonder how the variant multiclassing will progress spellcasting, if at all. Like, with a pure 20 Fighter, you can take those feats for variant multiclassing and still function as a beatstick with your other extra feats. From a design standpoint, it looks like an expansion on the Eldritch Heritage feat line, which is really cool. The amount of awesome stuff that can come of this is overwhelming. If this can let me make my non-evil mock Anti-paladin exist, then I will finally be able to play this game as I've wanted to since I got into it.

I'll not be on much on the weekends. Also life has been very crazy the last few weeks, over time I should be posting more and have more time to invest into these PbP's, but right now things are more than hectic. I'll be keeping up as much as I can in the meanwhile.
@BigP4nda I'm still here. I'm writing this anti-paladin's backstory... ...it's almost finished, but damn, it's a bit disturbing. Everything's solidly implicit, but the content of the subject matter is still very, well, candid CE. I hope when you read it that you will understand that this is purely for the sake of character study, and that as a person I do not condone acts of atrocity. Regardless, I hope you enjoy it, and I hope it inspires, I will have the finished product up within (another) few days. The overarching goal of this whole thing was to play Chaotic SMART, and not Chaotic STUPID. What I'm saying can leave a lot to the imagination I'm sure, and everything will make sense when its' actually finished and in this thread. Anyways, yeah. CE.
Awesome, thank you so much. I will present the finished character in a few-ish days. *coughcough*questionsANDthoughts*coughcough* MOAR QUESTIONS AND THOUGHTS 1- What kingdoms are present, what are the major continents, what are the kingdom's governmental styles/structures, how would you want to go about binding the party together for the quest? (I can weave all these into the backstory to make everything seamless) 2- So, I can hypothetically have my character want to help 'solve' the Elemental war because it's something that will hamper my demonic employer's overarching plans, and view it as a nuisance? There are a lot of different ways to look at it, and now I'm just brainstorming. I don't want to hint to anything until I actually reveal the character for how he's gonna be... so... I guess... just be expectant. I want to do him right. 3- Are the elemental forces currently dormant, or are they always active, in a way that could be compared to spiritual forces or just ecosystems? Are there 'lil guys too, or are they all colossal forces of primeval maelstromic rage? How much are they at play (and war) in the current age?(pre-3rd war, I believe?) 4- Are there deities? If so, how present in the world are they and such? How much will I have to fear their stereotypical mindless drones? 5-Will my Smite Good be of any use in a PvE capacity? (I don't expect it to, but if it does then that's gravytastic.) If the answer is never, could it be altered to something else that I can use? If not, I also understand. We're gestalting and will gain megafeats, so it's defffffinitely not a big deal if the answer is a double-no. I'm sure that this post is not the end of my queries... I mean to make you work. >:}
My tiefling pistolero has his left hand cut off, and has a buckler strapped to the stump. He uses his prehensile tail to help him reload. He also has a second mouth on the right side of his neck. He used to be a detective, but compromised a job and was fired. He worked solo for awhile, but ended up taking clients in the wrong crowds, and got engulfed into mob life. He could be a drifter from riddleport, coming into town before it all begins to stir, as hired muscle. This is bare bones lol. I'm basically rambling to you.

Leaving me with 2 3's which I will spend after I have the rest of the character fleshed out. Let me know if I am doing anything wrong here.
QUESTIONS/THOUGHTS: 1- Are you still taking submissions? I have a pretty developed character concept for an Earth-aligned CE Antipaladin/Swashbuckler. (he will be the complete antithesis of chaotic stupid, worry not.) 2-Are there infernal entities inside of the Elemental framework? Like, are there dark forces of each element, or are certain elements tied to an alignment, or are there also angels/demons/djinn equivalents, and if so, are there groups of each tied to each element, etc. What is the spiritual/outsider framework inside of this Elemental War? 3-I am all about roleplaying, feeding GM's flames, and creating background stories. If this begins in the end of April/beginning of May as has been stated this will be perfect for my schedule and I am really excited about this game already. If I get in I will only provide the best. EDIT: 4- Do you have more material about Archeon that I can consume to make his background story more well-rounded? Thanks. I'll have the write-up containing complete fluff and crunch within the next few days.
Ohk so, I still love the Lurenathi race. I want to build a Lurenathi Lore Shaman, with a hare as a familiar. ...when scouting, we look like a wolf chasing a rabbit... 20pt buy
So, uh, I think it'd be interesting if he still was a Black Lion, or served with them in some capacity. He could easily have been a scout for them. Rhanviel Thuven. He has a lot of secrets kept from the Black Lions, but has always been loyal to the cause. Question: Can Lurenathi use the Blend spell? They are of elven descent. Another Question: I plan on using the very wierd Arcane Enlightenment Lore Hex, heavily relying on it basically all game past lvl 2, can I expect to get mental stat-boosting items over time to make this viable for me? (Not asking for uber-cheese, just asking.) The mechanical build is going to be heavily based around that feature, and if it's not viable I'll probably make something less interesting. (Just saying that bc this concept seems REALLY INTERESTING ATM) Third Question: Does the casting time bit apply to SLA's? EDIT QUESTION: Due to the elven heritage of Lurenathi, could I use the Half-Elf racial favored class bonus for the Shaman? ................................................................. So, first feat is Wolf Form: Natural Spell. I believe that most of the crunch information is held within this post then... WHADDAYA THINK?
