I would like to join as well, with my AL barbarian

Hello, I'm interested in joining as well. I'm deciding between ranger or barbarian. I'll have my character info up soon.

M Human Peasant

Ooo I like that one

M Human Peasant

Duncan and Associates! XD

M Human Peasant

I'm against the crit change, mostly because it kind of favors the enemies rather than the pcs. Sure we can crit and do massive damage to one enemy every so often, but more often than not we are outnumbered, that's a good deal more chances for the enemy to one shot us.
Plus I don't crit that often =p

M Human Peasant

Just saw the post about the character sheet, I'll update when I have access to a computer

Acceptance confirmed, I'll be making my alias a bit later today :D

The character I'd like to submit:
Duncan Stone(Illuskan Human Male)
C/G Battle Master Fighter, Soldier (Officer) Background
Fighting Style: Protection
HP: 12 AC: 18
STR 16
CON 14
DEX 10
INT 8
WIS 12
CHA 14

Skill proficencies:
Athletics
Diplomacy
Intimidate
Perception
Survival

I'm going to be multiclassing as a warlock to pursue his backstory goal (which I will post on later, or post in his profile).
ONCE MORE INTO THE ABYSS!

Count me in, I'll post a chracter concept in this coming week

If you were to play this campaign, what would be more important to you?

Fellow players know Planescape, but not 5e
Fellow players know 5e, but not Planescape

How much would you be interested in helping your fellow player understand either one?

============

Due to the responses, it looks like I'll be doing The Great Modron March. In this campaign, rogue modrons will not be available as a player race. The reason for this is because modrons automatically attack rogue modrons, and such an event would not be conducive to the campaign.

I'll be posting up an actual recruitment thread in a few days. I'll still monitor this thread for any further questions.

I'd say it's important for fellow players to know planescape more than the system, that said, I have a cursory knowledge of planescape, but I am going to be reading up on it in the coming days.

The Modron March sounds great, but I would like to petition to play a modron with high disguise, basically a floating cube with a trench coat, shades, and a fake moustache.

I almost changed the, "seeking lore on Sky Citadels" to, "Little known crash during the Reign of Stars" background because of your post, just to tie it in, but I just have a suspicion that the reason SCs are mentioned in connection with this continent is because there actually is lore to be discovered. I should have a short bio up today.

Digging that the Oracle is the one being a little standoffish. Seems right somehow. A little disturbed that I didn't realize how close Nimar and Nymra's names were until I shortened hers in dialogue. :)

I noticed that too XD also i couldn't help but to think of this when I said "'pologise" XD

Well, it was fun while it lasted, thanks for the game. May I ask what happened?

M Human Peasant

I am as well, but it's up to the gm at this point for me lol

M Human Peasant

GM hasn't posted anything here since Monday. I'll give it till Monday for icehawk to post something because I am interested in the concept, but after that, I'm done. I understand life happens, but not taking 5 minutes to post anything for a straight week, at least to let us know he needs to take time off for personal reasons is kinda silly imo.

Well if anyone wants to work with what the random background threw my way (and it always seems to have a good idea what I'm doing, weird), it gave me the following for companion relationships:

Companion 1 - From the same hometown or region (Varisia, near Magnimar)
Companion 2 - Former enemies
Companion 3 - Know each other by reputation only

If not, no biggie, I can take or leave that part of the generator's results.

I took Boarded in Mwangi, so haven't been on the ship too long. Nimar is a human Unchained Rogue. Quick, smart, and likable, but not the mule and not going to be making many strength checks now or in the future.

Oooh, I'll take the second option if that's cool. I took the pride drawback, and my character has traveled from the lands of the linorm kings to cheliax, so our characters could have bumped into each other at any tavern in between. Maybe your character didn't believe a story mine was telling and said as much, would have instantly put her into enemy mode being accused of lying. My character would have wanted your character to apologize, and maybe you did, maybe you didn't, your call.

Personally, I like the idea of your character just vehemently refusing, and my character just being so angry about it, but not about to spill any blood over it XD

Hear that, drok? Psionics is fine now, but by level three? No more! ;)

frownie face =(

Scratch the android, I'll either go human or half-giant

Hey all! I might play a soul knife if psionics are permitted, maybe with the android race =p

Hey all, this is the cryptic player. It was one of those situations that my hammer needed the psion anvil, and the anvil cut and run. We weren't screwed at all, the Wilder ended up destroying the half giant in two rounds. Both my character and the Wilder have huge damage potential, more so the Wilder being able to deal upwards of 50 damage per cast of mind thrust. I think the way i'm gonna play it is that my cryptic no longer trusts the psion to have his back, and he won't be taking the risks that he normally would, especially if it's something the psion suggests that could endanger my cryptic, unless there is literally no other way. Then, if the psion endangers the party again, my cryptic will either go back to town and I'd roll a new character (the enforcer or a barbarian) or I'd ask the psion player to reroll, I can't imagine my cryptic would want to be in a party with someone he doesn't trust.

Ok, random height weight for me. There are no random height and weight rules for pathfinder Lizardfolk. So I'll make up my own. Since Lizardfolk are typically between 6-7 feet tall, I'll go with 4d6 with a starting height of 5'6". And for the 200-250 lbs, I'll go with a x5. That gives us 5'10" - 7'6" and 200 - 300.

Height: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 3) = 19 + 5'6" = 7'2"

* 5 + 200 = 295

Edgar got huge XD
EDIT: So yeah, that armor needs a LOT of modifying, I figure Edgar was like 6' at best XD

Are we doing the whole "one mental stat unhindered by the transformation" thing

Several people seemed to like that option

What if instead we get one reroll on race, in case we feel that the first race we rolled totally screws our character?

You had slightly more of a point this one that should be addressed.

The new race is supposed to make life hard for them, not impossible for us.

So maybe we should each have one mental stat immune from lowering by the new race?

Now that I think about it, this is probably why the regular reincarnate spell doesn't affect mental stats.

Not gonna lie, been a bit nervous about my Dex possibly dipping and not being able to apply for certain feats anymore, or my cha dropping to levels that make me worthless, but we know the risks =p

I honestly don't know much about item creation or balancing, but it would be cool if like once a day at whatever level would be acceptable, it gave a haste effect, and maybe a movement bonus or something at lower levels, maybe a cold energy ranged touch attack or something, I dunno lol

Progress made in he last five minutes-

Katana of storms-

The katana of storms is a +1 katana.

1st level-
An astoundingly light and well balanced katana, that can be used with the weapon finesse feat.

3rd level-
The wielder of the katana never has their vision obscured by natural weather.

5th level-
The katana gains the shocking weapon enchanment.

Loving it so far, thank you sir =D

I think it would also be good to have a connection between Fray, Chris, and/or Edgar with Zvaris.

I could see Edgar needing an experienced hunter/tracker at some point, like if there was some creature being a menace to a nearby town or something

A bit of story for my character to tie in other characters:

Fray was born into a rather wealthy family. As he grew, he became obsessed with himself, despite how others viewed him. He took great care of himself, but soon he wanted for more. He began researching ways to enhance himself; to become even more beautiful. He stumbled upon the art of alchemy and became instantly entranced. He read of gained physical prowess, enhanced powers of persuasion, and even a few instances of slowing or even stopping the aging process. He found a tutor and began training immediately.
During the course of his studies, he found that a special plant that only grew in a specific swamp was required for his research. He hired a few bodyguards to accompany him to the swamp, as he did not trust local merchants to supply him with what he needed at a reasonable cost.

I like it! So Edgar and Chris could be two of your bodyguards, is anyone else traveling with you or guarding you?

Yessir, I was debating on whether or not I was gonna go eastern with his name, and I decided not to, obviously lol. Figured I'd go with a more western name and have him think of himself as a warrior monk rather than a ninja

Wow, nice.

Anyone have any thoughts on how one or more of you would know my character, a guard in training for the upper crust, people who expect their guards to also be able to deal with magical problems.

My ninja is a wanderer, it's possible that we could have met at the town you were guarding, maybe we took down something that was a threat to your town

Cool.

Also taking Reincarnated because obvious.

Are we starting off as reincarnated, or is there some exhibition? Cause I might take that trait as well =p

M Human Peasant

Well, my character tends to go were the wind takes him, if he heard a rumor about some goings on in some town in the sticks, he sees it as a sign from fate that he should go check it out (which can often lead him on some wild goose chases, but he's okay with that, it was fate right?). So I guess to answer your question, I have to ask what happens to lead up to us pissing off the witch?

I was thinking about playing either a ninja or a inquisitor, leaning more towards a ninja, who has a very laid back attitude, very go with the flow kinda guy.

Hey guys, I haven't played in a pbp before, but the concept sounds pretty damn interesting, and so long as you guys are okay with my lack of experience, I'd like to give it a shot =)

I'm playing a grammaton archetype cryptic, and I was running some numbers the other night, and I may have stumbled upon something silly. My buddy told me about a psionic power called Disrupting Strikes, which on a full attack action, replaces any or all attacks for Disrupt Patterns. Taking two-weapon fighting and improved two-weapon fighting, you'll have 4 attacks at 10th level, when Grammaton gets Gun Kata and disrupt is dealing 5d6 a pop. Now, when you use gun kata, you do a melee attack that is enhanced with base disrupt damage, and if that melee attack connects, you can make a free ranged attack with your gun on the same target. So with gun kata and improved two weapon fighting, that's 8 attacks and if you use disrupting strikes to sub in disrupting patterns, can you get all 8 disrupts? As I was typing this on my phone, the rule in gun kata came to mind stating ”For each successful melee attack made with a handgun, if that gun is loaded, the grammatons can make a free ranged attack with that handgun against the creature struck.”So,my question is if you are initiating the Gun Kata, can you replace the melee attack for a disrupt and still get the following shot? I feel its very doubtful since you aren't doing the melee attack, unless the disrupt counts as the melee attack under some rule I don't know, but I would really like to see what you guys have to say about this.
