One of my players is a Ranger, and he chose to have a moray eel in Skull & Shackles. I have been studying the chart, and created the beastie, but it is a total wimp. I have already told my player to grab Boon Companion to advance it down the chart some more to where a Druid would be. I have also looked up the various archetypes, and will recommend some of them. He wants to put a harness on it, and use it to speed himself up underwater. He can temporarily breath underwater via the Infiltrator Ranger archetype on aberrations. I need help in upgrading the animal companion for him, as he doesn't know much about the game, and I don't know much about rangers and druids. Handle Animal says you can give an animal a single general purpose, which has a lot of tricks in it. Do those tricks count against an animal's limit? I was thinking to tell him to have it trained as Combat Training as soon as it gets to Int 2. Until then, I figured just having him use his free trick to train it in riding, and then upgrade it later. After that, he could train it to Seek, Fetch, and Work if necessary, as it would then know every trick in the book. It doesn't get Scent so it can't Track. The only feats I know the Ranger can take to upgrade the animal companion is Boon Companion, Totem Beast, and various teamwork feats like Outflank. I figure the moray eel can skate by armor proficiency by the ranger buying mithril chain shirt for it. I will show him the Dire Collar. I saw a bunch of feats for the animal to take, but honestly most of them didn't seem like they benefited the creature much. I found
I also know that if he gets the animal awakened via the spell, he's got to turn it into a sidekick via Leadership, and then it is no longer an animal companion. And there is a friendly Wizard in the party that could cast Mage Armor on the Eel. Is this everything that he can do to upgrade his animal companion so it can stick with the party and not die instantly? If it does die, how does the Ranger replace the Eel?
For the longest time now, I have been trying to get a gaming group together, since my last one dissolved because too many of the members had life issues that prevented them from playing. I live in central Minnesota USA, the St Cloud area. I want live people, not trying to game via internet. I already have one guy doing that, he's using my webcam via Facebook. Right now it's just the 3 of us, and one is effectively telecommuting using my PC. I have tried putting up ads on this website, but they always get lost in the shuffle. I have access to Pathfinder 1e with lots of APs, Vampire the Masquerade, D20 Modern, and my best friend runs Champions 5th ed (Hero system). I created a Facebook group to help out, it's called "Saint Cloud Minnesota Tabletop Roleplaying". I have a profile on nearbygamers.com, and BoardGameGeek. I don't know what else to do. Meetup.com was a total bust, I created a general nerd group and met 2 people, one of which immediately dropped out saying he didn't have time, and the other isn't interested. So I stopped paying. I even posted on roll20 just in case someone there lived nearby and could play. Did a websearch and may have found someone in my city, and left a message on his profile at meetup.

I checked out the reviews on this website, and noted that the original 3 books got high ratings, while the hardcover Book of the Damned got terrible reviews. If the hardcover is basically a reprint of the original 3 books, then why the bad reviews? What is the difference between the two? I ask because I am considering what to buy, either the original 3 or the new hardcover. I tried posting this on the product discussion forum, but nobody answered.

Hello, A while back, someone did this chart determining what IQ you'd have if your Intelligence was X. However, it only goes up to 18. Has anyone ever done a chart similar to this, but it went up to 20 Intelligence? INT IQ
Hello, I have been doing some asking around, and reading up on the rules regarding sneak attack damage. As it stands, Rogues can make as many sneak attacks per round as they have attacks if they flank. Many players like to use two weapons to magnify this possibility. I have been doing some thinking, and I believe this truly unbalances the game. Rogues can now do more damage than any other class is capable of, far more.
I have tried reaching you via phone, email already. This is my last attempt before giving up period. Your store has decided not to allow me to buy anything, because for some stupid reason it won't accept that my mailing address hasn't changed. Second, I would prefer you guys held my shipment until all of it can be sent at once, there are several August releases in it. Third, why did I not get a discount in the items I have in my cart? I should be getting 30% off. Fourth, I have updated my credit card information. To be frank, I would far rather be using paypal than give you financial information. Can this be changed?
Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to subscribe me to your adventure path of the new Runelords AP. I know it starts in August. Can you just start sending me a book in August if I subscribe now, or do I have to wait until August? The reason why I ask is that I want that 15% discount now. I am planning on making a decently sized purchase, and perhaps some preorders. Sincerely,
PS, I sent this letter via email to you back on the 5th, and never got a reply. SO I am trying multiple platforms.
Under the description of every magic item, there is a caster level listed. I thought that this was the minimum level needed to create the item, therefore any PC's that want to recreate the item for themselves have to be of that level or greater. However, another person I am in a thread with disagrees. He says you just have to make a skill check to pull it off. There is a FAQ which addresses this, but it seems to have exceptions. " Pearl of Power: What is the caster level required to create this item? Though the listed Caster Level for a pearl of power is 17th, that caster level is not part of the Requirements listing for that item. Therefore, the only caster level requirement for a pearl of power is the character has to be able to cast spells of the desired level. However, it makes sense that the minimum caster level of the pearl is the minimum caster level necessary to cast spells of that level--it would be strange for a 2nd-level pearl to be CL 1st. For example, a 3rd-level wizard with Craft Wondrous Item can create a 1st-level pearl, with a minimum caster level of 1. He can set the caster level to whatever he wants (assuming he can meet the crafting DC), though the pearl's caster level has no effect on its powers (other than its ability to resist dispel magic). If he wants to make a 2nd-level pearl, the caster level has to be at least 3, as wizards can't cast 2nd-level spells until they reach character level 3. He can even try to make a 3rd-level pearl, though the minimum caster level is 5, and he adds +5 to the DC because he doesn't meet the "able to cast 3rd-level spells" requirement." Who is right?
I have tried penandpapergames, nearbygamers, and boardgamegeek. I tried the gamer connection forum here, but it appears to be dead. Worse, it's difficult to use. I run games in Saint Cloud MN, right in the middle of the state. How the heck do I find players? Does anybody out there have suggestions? I have a pair of campaigns running now, but 2 of my 5 players are leaving and I want to replace them.
I found this:
And I want to adapt it for a Druid's use in my campaign, thus he is going to have to make his armor out of dragonhide. Normal dragonhide full plate costs 3300. Meanwhile, celestial plate armor costs 25000gp base price. It's +3 armor, so it's 16000gp minus the added AC. The price of a masterwork suit of full plate is 1650gp. Therefore, I figured the base price of the Fly enchantment and improved stats would be 14450gp. Therefore, the cost of using Craft Magic Arms & Armor would be 7225gp, right? So, the Druid needs to spend 3300gp for the dragonhide full plate, then get it enchanted to a +1 (500gp to enchant), then spend 7225gp to add on the other properties of celestial plate, assuming he hits 8th level and uses Craft Magic Arms & Armor. Am I correct in this? Eventually he'll put a Wild on his armor, worth a +3, but that's in the future.
I have a question about the game environment and it's effects on my PC's. All of my party has 5 cold resistance, and are wearing cold weather outfits. How much does the severe cold, snow etc affect them? I know that they're slowed (1/2 movement) already, and that when it's snowing they take a -4 to Perception and ranged attacks. But, what about the repeated Fortitude checks where cold weather is concerned? Do they still take nonlethal damage etc?
I got this item from 3.5's Magic of Faerun, then adapted it somewhat. The caster level is 3rd, and the base price is 1200gp, the weight is 1 pound. The cloak sheds all precipitation down to the knees. Once per day it can become a one man tent. Every day, it provides up to 2 gallons of either sugared hot tea or cool spring water in a 1pint flask in a pocket inside the cloak. As well, you get trail rations for one person each day. You could alter this to instead provide racial trail rations like Elven. Finally, it grants 5 points of cold resistance. If you pair this cloak up with a cold weather outfit, your PC's will be immune to just about any cold weather!
One of my players is running a Druid, and so he'd like to get a white dragonhide breastplate. I know that Spoiler: Which books are they in? I have to know so that I can figure out how many dragons it will take to make a breastplate for said Druid. Logrivich the white dragon is in The Shackled Hut. Are there other white dragons in Reign of Winter that the party can kill?

Does anybody who has run this campaign have tips on what classes would work really well in Reign of Winter as a group? So far, I am thinking that the following work well, because they offer cold resistance or cold environment bonuses:
I also noticed that the following races grant cold resistance:
And based on my reading of the AP, I noticed that the following skills and feats should be needed, any recommendations?
Hello, I subscribed to your APs, and was wondering when Strange Aeons 3 was going to be released. On top of that, I was wondering when the hardcover Curse of the Crimson Throne was going to be released (hopefully this month). Finally, am I going to get my T shirt (core rulebook cover) this month or not? I want to know so I can plan out how much I'm spending this month.
Hey, I am running a Pathfinder game in St Cloud MN. Lots of races and options, but we do ask that you choose something that helps out the group fill a niche. As of this writing, I am running Giantslayer, and have already completed Carrion Crown. We are midway through Giantslayer, and are contemplating another AP. PM me if you are interested.
I have a player that has a Sun Blade. It does an extra +2 hit and damage versus evil creatures. Now, does that "evil" creature have to be of a subtype that is innately Evil, like Evil Outsiders (demons, devils etc) or does it just have to be Evil aligned for the purposes of the enchantment? This same question applies to Holy enchantments on weapons?
Hello, One of my players has Orcs and Giants as his favored enemies, and recently hit 8th level. So far, he's been using ferocity in combat to keep himself awake and fighting below 0 hp. He recently acquired an amulet of Natural Armor +1. Does the Amulet stack with the natural armor +2 he can get from his Infiltrator Ranger archetype versus giants?
Hello, I recently subscribed to your AP's, and put a bunch of items in my sidecart. 1) When does Strange Aeons ship? Please be as precise as possible. Also, when will I be billed for all the items in my sidecart and AP subscription? 2) Is there any info on what comes out after the Strange Aeons AP for my subscription?
