Morgryn tried to piece together the sometimes-broken Common of his small allies. He frowned deeply for a moment as he considered the options. Finally he asked Jynnjunn, "Are ye fairly certain, then, that this...bug...will not come up behind us while we are engaged with more trogs? I don't wanna be boxed in on two sides by diff'rent opponents."

Morgryn let out a grunt of satisfaction as the last of their enemies fell. He cleaned off the hammer, not wanting the stinky troglodyte blood to stay on there. "Good job all, especially that spray o'color thing y'cast, Jynnjun." He kept an eye out while the others searched the bodies and Jynnjun snuck off.

Yeah, the angles are weird for a polearm and AoOs for me so I'm just assuming there weren't any for me.

Morgryn stepped closer to the lizard, the better to be able to strike down the last troglodyte, the one who looked different. He grinned fiercely as he swung his polearm in an arc at it.

Mrogryn called on the blessings of Torag to make him better able to help himself and his allies in this fight. Then he grinned widely and swung out with his Lucerne Hammer towards the beleaguered Trog, a cackle loosing from his lips turning to a disappointed growl if he missed.

OOC:

5 foot step back.
Swift Action: Expend one use of Fervor to cast Divine Favor on himself.
Standard Action: Attack the green-bordered trog if he's still standing. If not, then the gray square.
Forgot the MW weapon and Weapon Focus feat so hit a 15 total.
If you want the math, it's 3 Strength, BAB +2, Weapon Focus +1, MW Weapon +1, Flanking +2, Inspire Courage +1, Divine Favor +2 (with the Trait), -1 Power Attack.

Morgryn let out a yell as he stepped forward in to the hallway and rushed towards the group of enemies, deliberately trying to make himself seen and heard as the biggest threat....to more easily allow his comrades behind the troglodytes and lizard to attack unnoticed.

Move forward to be within melee range of as many as possible between his polearm with reach and his spiked armor.

Morgryn was good with the plan presented. It seemed as sound as it could be, given the circumstances. He hurried forward with Zakroo once the mushrooms began to scream at sunset. He rolled his head around on his shoulders to loosen up his muscles a bit even as he readied himself, gripping his polearm as he waited tensely.

Okay, gang, so OOC...should we kill the shrieker mushrooms or have them go off again when the non-stealthy group moves in?

Also, if we can, I think it might be a good idea for the non-stealthy to try and move in to get to the stench so we can get as much time as we can to let it wear off before combat. Does that sound like a good idea to everyone?

Morgryn winced at the screams, even though he'd been prepared for them. He looked back at Xakroo, frowning a bit. "How sure are ye that they're even IN there?" His eyes swung back in to the cave's interior. He thought about it for a moment.

Then he shrugged and stepped deeper inside. "Time an' daylight're wastin'!"

Morgryn looked at the smaller folk and then at the mushrooms. He pondered for a moment and then picked up a rock. He hefted it and then hucked it at one of the mushrooms, waiting for the screaming to begin, gripping his weapon tightly.

Morgryn walked along as they followed the map. He slowly looked around as they stepped inside the caves. His nose wrinkled and his lip curled, his hands tightening on the polearm as he strode forward. Under his breath hu muttered, "...reminds me too much o'home." He was on his guard since it did indeed kind of remind him of the Underdark a bit.

Morgryn had been taking a long pull from one of the bottles of whiskey after one of the goblins had mentioned 'booze'. He brought the bottle back down and saw that his allies had decimated the centaur while he had been drinking. He huffed out angrily. "Hey! Ye did nae even WAIT fer me, scoundrels! So rude!" He quickly took another shorter pull on the bottle before re-sealing it and putting it away.

He wiped the remnants from his mouth and beard. "Right! Onward then?"

While Morgryn wouldn't say no to more AC, I think he's good.

Sigh. Yeah. Go ahead on without me. I just haven't had much time for even looking at the boards since like Thursday until today. I am slipping so far in most of my online games with real life being kind of crazy and busy.

Morgryn slowly walked over to the downed man. He stepped over him, to stand astride him and turned to face the villagers. He brought the polearm up horizontally across in his arms held out in front of him. "Ye don' wanna do that...'cause ye'll force me t'stop ye. The man made a mistake, that's fer sures an' certains, but the situation has changed and we're all in it fer survival now. So put aside yer dif'rances an' we work together."

Not being the most social of people by a long shot, he didn't push his words on anyone. He just let the others do the real talking.

Morgyn had been half-listening the entire time, but had been keeping most of his focus and attention on the surrounding area - especially the way the man had come from to make sure nothing had followed him and they weren't about to be attacked or something.

Things went very wrong very fast, however. He whipped his head around and the man tried to run away. Morgryn reached out and swung the haft of his polearm, stretched to hit the man in the legs and hopefully trip him but do no damage except to maybe his pride.

Morgryn nodded his agreement and turned to stride purposefully towards where this 'new arrival' had come running in. He was more concerned to see if anything was following them and would let the others interrogate him for the moment to see how he found their band of refugees...though he stays close enough to hear the conversation.

Morgryn looked dumb-founded as he turned to look at the little goblin. He opened his mouth but nothing came out and then he frowned deeply. "SMELL caves?? Don't be DAFT!" He shook his head. "Just 'cause we live underground doesn't mean we have some sort of...of..." He floundered for the right words for a moment and then finally got it. "some sort of cave sense or somethin'!" He threw up his arms and turned away from the goblin, hiding the smile threatening to bloom on his face.

He listened to the others and finally he nodded. "A cabin sounds more comfortable fer the townsfolk, though if the cave itself isn't inhabited or dang'rous, it would be more defensible likely."

Morgryn spent most of his time helping those who were wounded, tending to them, overseeing their care. And he prayed with any who were interested, but mostly he prayed over people and for everyone to have the strength to go on and fight.

He waved off the thanks. "It's not necessary t'thank us. People were in need. Tha's enough fer me."

He pondered her words and looked to Xakroo. "Think ye can lead us t'find somethin' a bit better for these people, there, Xakroo?"

Morgryn trades out his armor after digging through some of the supplies. He pulls out a finely crafted breastplate that has seen better days. But he cleans off the dust and buffs out the dents in it. He puts his old polearm and a few of the alchemical vials in to the supplies for general use. He needed them less than others might, he figured.

He gave thanks to Torag for seeing them and their charges out of the city safely, and prayed for the souls of those who had been killed in the city.

And we count the loot we are carrying towards the 1000 gp? So like if I don't want to drop the 3 vials of Anti-plague "back in to the supplies" then I pay for them out of the 1000 gp? I just want to make sure I am reading that correct.

And any restrictions on type of gear? IE: Eastern Armor, Armor Spikes, whatever?

Once everyone is far enough back to avoid harm, and ONLY once everyone is far enough back to avoid harm, will Morgryn produce the flint and steel from his back. He will strike it a couple of times before a spark will light the cloth wrapped and tied just behind the point of the arrowhead. "There ye go! Loose and let slip the dogs o'boom!" He stuck his fingers in his ears to help dampen the noise of the explosion even as he backed up a few steps, a maniacal grin on his face.

Morgryn let out a small chuckle at the sheer excitement that the goblin was showing in blowing up the bridge. He cautioned everyone to move away from the bridge before this was supposed to happen.

To Xakroo he shrugged. "That's easy." He tore a few strips of cloth from the downed hobgoblin (or from his own stock if needs be) and wrapped them around an arrow. "You do this. Then we light it with flint an' steel I got here. Then ya fire the arrow an' don't miss."

Morgryn ran forward towards the hobgoblin, barely restraining the urge to let out a war-cry....but apparently had misjudged the distance and didn't make it all the way to the enemies.

Did the map get changed or something? I had Morgryn within 45 feet of the wolf and now he's like...much further back and out of charge range for both of them? Or maybe it didn't save my movement, I don't know. Sigh. I'll post in a bit and I guess I'll just double-move since I'm no longer in charge range.

Of course, it doesn't matter since Kwaizy is directly in the charge line anyway.

Morgryn let the smaller folk start getting ready and getting in to positions. He stayed back for the moment, gripping his new and well-crafted Lucerne Hammer tightly. He was getting ready to charge in but was holding off to see if it was needed.

Moving to 45ft in charging distance for me and waiting/hiding.

Morgryn helped the people out and gave instructions on the traveling and buddy system, as well as sharing the load of supplies so no one gets too worn out or overloaded. He is not kind and gentle, but he is compassionate and understanding and his words are not too brusque.

He is surprised to find a version of the polearm weapon he used all the time, the Lucerne Hammer, only this one was much better made than the one he currently carried. He hefted it, tested its weight a bit, then put away his old one and gave a satisfied grin as he began to walk towards the bridge.

Morgryn gave a grunt of satisfaction once they were able to put the fire out. He wiped a forearm across his forehead and blew out a breath. He gave a snort of amusement at the people inside not wanting to come out. "Do we SOUND like hobgobbers?" He chuckled and stepped back.

Morgryn spat on the hobgoblin and muttered some curses at it even as he turned away and began stomping over towards the burning building. He narrowed his eyes and began using the Create Water spell over the 'hot spots' to try and not only douse the flames but stop them from spreading.

Morgryn grimaces in disgust at the cowardice of the hobgoblin, but is not without understanding. He is, however, without thought of mercy. He swings the lucerne hammer at the hobgoblin as it attempts to flee. His eagerness interferes with his accuracy unfortunately. He spits out a curse as he misses!

Morgryn takes a step back and swings his polearm at the hobgoblin. He puts a lot of force behind the swing, possibly more than was needed, which does affect his accuracy some.

Morgryn grips his weapon's haft when he sees the hobgoblins, but he pauses a moment to let his allies loose their ranged attacks. Then he charges in to one of the hobgoblins, leveling the spiked point of his Lucerne Hammer in front of him like a spear. He lets out a muted roar as he strikes.

Morgryn hefted his hammer defensively when the woman came charging at them, but then quickly lowered it seeing that she wasn't a hobgoblin and that she stopped herself. He gave a nod to her.

"We're tryin' t'get s'many villagers an' supplies s'we can outta here an' safe from the hobgobs."

He then sets to organizing the villagers again and explaining the buddy system to the newcomers, as well as their 'standard operating procedure' thus far.

Morgryn spits on the hobgoblin and shakes his head at the damage done to the shrine. He utters a quick and quiet prayer, to not only Torag but also to the deities wronged there.

He then grabs a bottle of the whiskey (or all three if no one else wants them) and grins at Kwaizy, retorting "Medsin."

He then helps everyone pack up what has been found.

Morgryn pulls the hammer back from his first swing and brings it back around while Kwaizy distracts and attacks right up under the hobgoblin and Yewleaf also jumps in to the fray! Morgryn swings overhead this time to hit the hobgoblin, but his swing goes wide again, having to be careful not to his Kwaizy so close, and he lets out a snarl of frustration.

Morgryn, if needs be, if his companions haven't already done the remaining hobgoblin in, will swing his hammer around in a wide smashing arc at the hobgoblin, staying out of the creature's reach. But he tries to be careful of incoming arrows, so swings too wide. "Damnation!"

Lol, I'm a bit worried for when we get in to 'real' combat. The dice have been WAAAAAY too nice to me so far. Makes me nervous. =)
