Maximilian watches as Jayma's spell crushes the statue to bits. Seeing no further movement from the statue the rogue relaxes and gives a thumbs up at the gnome. "Great work Jayma!"

Cursing as his arrows have no effect on the statue Maximilian draws his magical shortsword and goes in for a quick attack.

Ffft An arrow flies from Maximilian's bow as he moves back out of the statue's range. "Ruby, fall back!"

"Incoming! Protect Kukuha!" Maximilian shouts as he sees the status come to life. The rogue takes a few steps to get a clear shot and lets loose with an arrow from his bow.

Maximilian gives Ruby a look and in a dry tone he says: "Better not get any closer Ruby. Leave the nice griffins alone."

"Well hello there?" Maximilian says softly as he approaches the griffins, a few steps behind Arlo.
Nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

A feeling of relief calms Maximilian down as he hears Arlo. Maximilian attempts to climb the ledge.
Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Seeing Red still around Maximilian closes in and attacks with his shortsword.

In revenge for Ruby Maximilian moves up to Red and attacks wildly.

Seeing Ruby fall Maximilian lets out a wordless yell and shoots his bow twice before drawing his shortsword.

Ffft! Fffft! Two arrows leave Maximilian's bow in short order heading straight towards Yellow. "Ruby! Finish Yellow off!" he commands the fiery leopard.

"Ruby! Attack!" Maximilian shouts to his companion as he draws his bow and lets loose at Yellow.

With a sigh of relief Maximilian hauls himself up with Zelphari's help. Picking himself up he goes to work securing the rope bridge.

Maximilian watches as Zelphari makes his way across, paying close attention to how the sorcerer places his hands. Once the other human is across Maximilian attempts to do as he did.

With a look on despair on his face at the long climb ahead Maximilian lets the others lead the climb and just Follows the Expert.

With a furrowing of his brow the rogue continues, "You said sea serpents so more than one. Even the mightiest can fall if there are enough standing against them. What you need are allies to even things up. Say, why not ally with us? Well, not us specifically. As my companion" Maximilian gestures to Jayma, "here mentioned, we represent the Pathfinder Society - a group of adventurers from all over Golarion whose goal is to explore, report and make allies. We are planning to open a lodge in this area and if you ally with us we can help you should you backup."

Attempting to not offend Aojimitsu Maximilian tries puzzle out the sea dragon's words. "Excuse me great sea dragon, but what do you mean you cannot defend yourself? Are you injured?"

"Oh joy, a sea dragon." Maximilian sighs as he recalls his last encounter with a sea serpent. "I just hope this one has better manners than the last one I encountered."

"Nice little guys." Maximilian says as he watches the kodama. "First time I've ever seen them. Well, next up the cove!"

Limping after the others into the clearing, Maximilian lets out a sigh of relief as he sits against the menhir while Garnet starts getting out the supplies. Attempting to find a comfortable spot the rogue's attention is

"Greetings friends." Maximilian says in Sylvan hands open and welcoming. "We are planting this sapling." the Taldan points to Jayma. "To help restore the magic in this place."

Of all the careless things to do I just realized I never updated my pbp profile to level 5 before playing this scenario.

"#^%&...!" Maximilian curses as he slips and hits his shin on something. Garnet, the rogue's hireling helps him make it through the rest of the path. Once on solid ground Garnet patches the Taldan up while he tries to work through the pain and help the others make sense of where they are going.

Maximilian takes his time as he tries to hop across the logs in an attempt to keep himself dry.

Brushing the leaves from his clothes thanks Zelpharis for his help in getting through the trees.

"What's this? A shrine? Pity about it's state." Maximilian says as he takes in the sight of the shrine. At Arlo's words the rogue turns to look at the cleric. "A shrine to a Tien goddess? This is a bit far from the Dragon Empires. I wonder how long this has been here and who built it."

Maximilian sighs before shaking his head and trying to squeeze himself through the gaps of the fallen trees.

Maximilian takes a closer look at the sculpture but it looks like a regular sculpture of a dog to him.

That bit of excitement over with Maximilain now moves more carefully in search of danger and tracks, bow still in hand. Exploration activity: Search

Maximilian shares a look with Ruby and shrugs. Not being much of the outdoorsy type the rogue follows the halfling's lead in making their way around, bow at the ready.

"Whaat?" Maximilian asks at the looks he was receiving. "We are going into dangerous territory! Are you not at all concerned that the pot might get smashed during combat or suffocate in a pack? How heartless of you!"

"Soooo...Who wants to hold the pot while we get lost in the forest?" Maximilian looks at the pot with some interest. "Do we really need to take the whole plant? Wouldn't a branch work as well?"

"Thanks for the healing Arlo. Ruby appreciates it." Maximilian says as he pats Ruby. The rogue then sheathes his weapons before picking up his shortbow.

Maximilian stows his rapier and slowly approaches the remaining boar. Making soothing noises at the boar the rogue tries to direct the boar to move along away from the group.

"C'mon attacking that boar!" Maximilian shouts at his companion as he moves towards Blue Circle boar. The rogue draws his shortsword as he stops beside Azu and attacks the boar.
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 The boar is also flat-footed until the end of my next turn.
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 In case it crits.

With the boar occupied with Ruby and having it's back to him Maximilian decides to drop his bow and draw his rapier. He quickly moves into position to flank Blue Circle boar and attacks.

Damage + Sneak attack: 1d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 4 + (3, 4) = 13

Busy keeping his eye on Blue Circle Boar Maximilian still hears as the group's sorcerer gets gored. Trusting the party to handle the remaining boards the rogue decides to concentrate on the two before him. "Ruby attack!" he shouts as he lets loose some arrow from his shortbow at Blue Circle Boar showing the fiery leopard the target.

Shortbow: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Shortbow: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

"See you later." Maximilian says as he waves goodbye to Masuhei. Crouching to give Ruby a few pats he continues, "Well, it Looks like we have a timer. Shall we get going?"

Maximilian gives his pack a once over to check that he remembered to bring his climbing kit. Finally confirming that the kit was among his things the rogue gives a sigh of relief.

"Climbing kit check! Good thing I remembered to bring it eh Ruby?Garnet?" the gambler turns to his companions, a fiery leopard and a pretty, purple haired halfling.

Garnet is a hireling with Medicine +7 ad Lore: Hunting +7

I'm also picking a lesser potion of healing for my school consumable

Whistling as he makes his way to the others Maximilian pats his pockets feeling his slightly heavier purse. The rogue spent most of his time on the trip over below decks gambling with anyone he could entice to a game.

After a few hours of rest upon disembarking Maximilian's first trip was to a gambling den. Between rounds of cards he got the locals to talk about Kayajima. "Looks like another win for me boys! Maximilian says as he takes the pot. "So," he starts as the cards are shuffled and a new round begins. "what else is there to do around her? I heard something about exotic wildlife in an island called Kayajima? What's that about?"

Our first game for 2E was The Fall of Plaguestone and I decided to take the animal companion.

Maximus has a Fiery Leopard animal companion and a hireling with Medicine +7 and Lore: Hunting +7 called Garnet.

I got the error too. I selected level 3-6.

Do all specials not give access to items?

Maximilian moves to box the grimstalker in and attacks hoping to finish it off before anyone else receives further damage.

Maximilian blinks in surprise as red attacks him but barely even tears his clothes. The rogue looks at his clothes to confirm that he wasn't damaged by the attack. Finding no damage he shrugs and attacks red in return.
"Was that supposed to do something?" he asked.
