Maximilian Pardus? Aye, I've had the misfortune of meeting the man. He may look like a dandy, always dressed in his best, smiling at everyone with not a care in the world but don't let his looks fool you. He'll clean you out of house and home if you give him a chance! I made the mistake once of making a bet with him. What was that? The bet? It was a race, I think. It doesn't matter. So anyway, we started betting on a race. Then he invited me to play a game of dice, then some card games with the stakes getting higher and higher. I won some, I loss some. I don't know how long we played but next thing I knew I was being tossed out of the club, with no clothes, no coin and when I finally made it back to the manor I found it locked with the sound of my wife in the throes of passion. I could hear them from across the street! My sweet Emerald!

Sebastien, my butler, came out and told me I had somehow bet the manor and my wife to that rogue! I tried to get all of it back. He may be the third son but he is still one of the Oparra Pardus' and when the magistrate asked my wife if she would like to take me back she wrapped herself around Pardus like some sort of strumpet and said I finally made a bet she liked! Now leave me be, I still have half a bottle of this swill they call wine to finish.
