After thinking about it all evening, Lucien still isn't convinced that going below and dealing with...whatever that is...just isn't worth it to him. He's made a little coin from the adventuring group but he's already risked his life on more than one occasion for what? Doing good? Playing sheriff? They already had people for that. If there's little to no coin to be made, and death on the line everyday, just count the little guy out.
He leaves a quick note to that effect for the others, and makes his way out of the Rusty Dragon overnight, on to greener (golder?) pastures, and out of this tale.

Not like oh 30 years ago old, but I mean centuries old. Like stuff from a museum or what not. I don't know what we stumbled on down here, but its kind of a lot...Nothing valuable found though."

After the search is done, he agrees with Snag. "Not sure that whatever is down here is going to succumb to just us. Mira, you should get the sheriff to send the whole damn unit down here. How is this creepy place lying just under Sandpoint and no one knows about it?"

Lucien looks around the field of wounded and bleeding allies. He checks his pack and finds he has two minor healing potions on his kit. Looking at Anthony, he bends and pours the first one in his mouth, hoping that the natural swallow reflex takes over.

He goes to Manny with the other, hoping the healing magic works the same on the tree-like ally as it does on others. "I think the two of you have the best chance to get everyone else upright," he says aloud, but to himself. He hopes that's right.
When that's done, he moves to the bodies of the fallen sinspawn to see if they have anything valuable or helpful on their grotesque bodies.

Lucien spends the greater part of his downtime alone. He is really thinking about how it is to work on the "good guy" side of law and order, after spending his life so far in the grey areas. Doesn't pay as well, at least so far, and there is the whole risking your life thing, but there is a feeling of satisfaction he's never felt before. Knowing that there is a purpose to his life more than mere existence is unique for him, but the call is quite compelling.
At some point, he gets up and goes to look for the others so they can finish what they started. Saving Ameiko was one thing, but those goblins needed to be stopped, and whatever that journal showed was seriously bad for Sandpoint and the whole area. Time to do something about it!

He looks at Mira, trying to see if the guard would rather open this door or go back to the cavern and leave well enough alone.

He tries to remember if he's heard of any underground structures from his criminal connections, as that seems the likeliest element to have a hideout below ground.

Lucien looks really worried when the creature catches him when he tries to slide by. And horrified for a moment when the creature spins to accost him. The second blow puts the halfling on the ground, bleeding, but the fight ends shortly after, and Anthony brings him back.
Lucien sits on the ground, blinking and rubbing his wounds. "Probably should've just stayed on the shady side of the law, Seems a heckuva lot safer than being a good guy."
