![]() <.< You know I'm using you for target practice later. "I speak giant and he was asking for a drink." Lorald normally would keep a giant somber but seeing as he was already half way there and the timid sort when under the sauce. He saw no harm in a small gift, he rarely had the chance to let down his guard enough to drink himself. He produce the bottle of potent bladeberry cordial he had been gifted so long ago. No doubt the added age helped. Giant:
"So Munguk, what troll men do you speak of and what brings you to these lands?" P.S. The reserve has a potion of tongues. But Lorald is not a talker so he did not take it. ![]()

![]() "Then we should find out it's business in these lands. If it is banditry or some other ill intent, then it will receive the same treatment any other would. If it is peaceful then we will leave it as such. Agreeable?" He had his crossbow out yet again. Ready for trouble. ![]()

![]() Lorald keeps his distance but gets close enough to get a good look at the mud pool. His crossbow at the ready, after all such a thing was not common and could be a natural trap. As such a possible hunting ground or scavenger site. "What do you make of this?" Fort DC 15: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 Take 10/20 on Perception (+11) and Survival (+9). ![]()

![]() Little retcon. After the turtle is dispatched, Lorald gets down to make a better inspection of it's lair and the area around it. The creature had been a danger for a while after all. Lorald takes 10/20 on perception to look around the area of Crackjaw. Looking for loot or anything else of interest. ![]()

![]() Lorald reloads yet again in a practiced and speedy motion. Letting another pair of bolts loose on the reptile. Rapid Shot: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 161d10 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Both strike the shell and fail to land in it's flesh. ![]()

![]() Lorald reloads with ease from his perch and sends a pair of bolts this time. Rapid Shot vs Crackjaw AC 19: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 211d10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
One bolt strikes true while the other bounces off the turtles shell with a deep sound. ![]()

![]() Lorald is good for exploring. Time to bring back some loot for the kingdom. Btw as a reminder, we still have a supply if needed for adventuring. Got to see what I buy for Lorald as he has some money now, I suggest everyone check their coin purses too before heading out. ;) Freewater Reserve: Arcane Scrolls Arcane Scroll of Dimension Door (CL 7) Arcane Scroll of Glitterdust (CL 3) Arcane Scroll of Dancing Lights (CL 1) Arcane Scroll of Glitterdust (CL 3) Arcane Scroll of Summon Monster 2 (CL 3) Arcane Scroll of Obscuring Mist (CL 1) Arcane Scroll of Mirror Strike (CL 1) Arcane Scroll of Expeditious Retreat (CL 1) Arcane Scroll of Urban Grace (CL 1) Arcane Scroll of Icicle Dagger (CL 1) Arcane Scroll of Web (CL 3) Arcane Scroll of Touch of Idiocy (CL 3) Arcane Scroll of Ray of Enfeeblement (CL 1) Arcane Scroll of Acid Arrow (CL 3) Arcane Scroll of Acid Arrow (CL 3) Arcane Scroll of Hold Portal (CL 1) Arcane Scroll of Animate Dead, Lesser (CL 5) Arcane Scroll of Protection from Energy (CL 5) Divine Scrolls

![]() I think we should set up a lumber mill but otherwise stay out of the forest concerning kingdom building for now. After building the lumber mill we could explore the southern kamelands, once explored we can build on them cheaply what we want later. After the kamelands are mapped we could go back in the forest and explore what's left, think we already have most of the upper half of the forest mapped, so we would map what we missed in the upper half and the lower half to finish up our section of the stolen lands. That's my 2c. ![]()

![]() Cause I feel the need for a little RP snack to be thrown in. xP The smuggler's rode down the woodland road, heavy wagons of goods in tow. Speaking amongst themselves of the goodly realm they so recently took advantage of. "Taxes a gnomes left big toe. Little more then villagers the lot of them. They should be thankful we pay them it's worth, not about to waste coin on taxes." The smuggler next to him nods in approval. Looking over his shoulder at some sort of motion, only to see nothing. Turning back he speaks. "That's right, not like their a real kingdom or anything. They spring up like weeds around here, they'll be gone in a year or two if that. Don't even have a city guard, just some farmers that think they can swing a sword. Half don't even have wives to testify to that for them." One smuggler leading the wagon behind the pair speaks up. "I don't know, you saw them odd fellows here and there. All black and green leathers, didn't look like farmers to me." Before ether could respond an arrow embedded itself in the ground before them. They quickly held firm their horses to both stop and control the spooked animals. A woman with braided brown hair, slightly pointed ears, and a small scar on her left cheek was seated on horseback with her longbow drawn. She wore black leathers, a green hooded cloak, and a bronze clasp in the shape of a talon. Her voice was fair with a touch of sweetness yet strong as she spoke. "Are you lost? I am sure you were trying to find your way back. After all, you did not intend to leave without paying the taxes you owe." The woman gave a crooked smile as the bewildered smugglers gathered their thoughts. But before they could even open their mouth she cut them off. "We will escort you back. You may even be able to speak to Marshal Lorald on granting you a guide." More cloaked and hooded people came out of the forest, surrounding the smugglers. Their weapons drawn and ready. The smuggler on the wagon shook his head and spoke as the other two on horse back kept looking around. "Lead the way, fair lady." That smuggler knew when to fold. ![]()

![]() Don't know about the fey sense they are rather independent, not answering to anyone but themselves as far as I know. But the kobolds, I don't see why chief sootscale can't be a council member to voice the interest of his people as needed. Kobolds reproduce faster then even human's so they will not be a minority given time and should not be ignored or marginalized. That's the advantage of a council system. You can add and remove seats as needed. Being a member does not really require you to have a role as well. So he won't have to take on a kingdom role if he does not want to. ![]()

![]() Lorald, his crossbow ever at hand during the journey, raises a hand as the chief gives the order. "Clearly we have disturbed you, I do not think we should trouble you for a feast. At least not until the reason for our coming has been made clear. At which point I think you would be better inclined in your choice of reception." He removes a flask of alchemist fire and pours a small amount in a near by censer to increase the heat a bit. It was a small favor but a start he thought for disturbing them. He should have asked a sage about the kobolds before they left. It seemed the winter had an effect similar to a bear's upon them. Luckily they were not hostile as a result. ![]()

![]() Just cause it's a holiday, does not mean the obsidian eagles stop doing their duty. There is a rotation and we can't expect to sell all that once a year wine in a day. Practicality dear lady not simple revelry. ;D P.S. Founder's day may be one day officially but so is Christmas. Does not mean we only see lights and decorations on that one day or even week. It's our kingdom we make the rules. ![]()

![]() If you don't mind I would say that Moonstone's holiday would be when it's completed not funded. That way I can pick the month and day rather then have it set by coincidence. How does Gozran starting on the first Oathday preceding a full moon until the following Moonday night. Full of all sort of symbolism and who does not like a five day festival. xP ![]()

![]() I agree, the Moonstone Special Stall is open people. We have the Founding Year Special Vintage Wine, never to be sold again and a collectable in the future without a doubt. Buy two for a special price, one for pleasure and one for the memories. All proceeds go to the Obsidian Eagles, helping keep the wilds tame for you and me. ;) Can I sell or what xD ![]()

![]() Lorald would like a holiday concerning the founding and restoration of Moonstone Tower. Thinking a Black Eagle kind of holiday/tourney. Games of might, skill, and wit with prizes and the only day of the year when Moonstone Wine is sold, the regular Alabaster Ale is discounted for the event. ;) ![]()

![]() I am up for kingdom building. As I said before I think we should have at least a full year of it. The kingdom does act like a character as kingmaker goes on and we may find ourselves crippled if we keep ignoring it. Or downright destroyed by a rival. I am not a fan of the DM using kid gloves and ours I would like to say does not. So I fully expect him to ground us into the dust should we keep pushing as we have been without creating a foundation by a certain point. ![]()

![]() Jenya P. wrote: 3. Raven's going to the Forgotten Keep? Um I hope you don't mean the abandoned keep. The one Lorald and his team mates cleared out and he then claimed and is waiting on the council's promised funding to restore. Just checking sense I think our team found like three (not sure) places that could fit the bill. The five towered, ancient elven designed one was his claimed. Sense it's name and stuff won't be given til after restoration. ![]()

![]() Lorald's emotions seethed under his indifferent expression. The Issian scum seemed to be spreading. He had not forgotten the last one he encountered or his fate, not that he regretted it for a moment. Only that his family had chosen to avoid the issue. Now it had reappeared in these lands it seemed, but it was strange. The Issian did not fully control Brevoy, why would they risk making another possible enemy without a solid position of their own. He decided to deal with the problem at hand. "The Issian are not so blatant. Making good on any threats would be subtle, without ties to them. The other noble houses as well as the people would not take well to such a display. It would bring attention on us all from Brevoy. Brevoy is our supporter and sponsor, it would be dangerous to Freewater to attempt that plan. I can contact my own house, they may be able to arrange for safe passage through Brevoy away from prying eyes. Once we get to Grigori's family we can bring them back with us. Once they are here with him, they will be outside their reach and realize their plot has been exposed. They will be unable to move so far without alerting the swordlords and other houses. Something they are not prepared to do. The Orlovsky may not choose to play the games of Brevoy's nobles but that does not mean they are not adapt players in it when they choose to be." He nods towards Zartana. ![]()

![]() I agree with Jenya, but a point of clarification. The army number is flexible, it's the power (ACR) that determines the cost. Having an army of 50 human fighters level 5 would cost the same as an army of 100 human fighters level 3. Also we currently have a 2500 population. Sorry but I hate misinformation running amok. xP
