Kyomi crumples to the ground. The unexpected blade going in deep. Her lifeblood just slipping out onto the ground. She had Rochelle cornered. She and her companions had the advantage -- and that situation should have aroused her fox senses. It was going "too well". Alas, Kyomi is young and sometimes you learn the best by making mistakes. Hopefully this mistake is not fatal.

stabalize: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3 DC 13.

Kyomi slips to -4. Her Con is 10, so her threshold is -10. Next DC will be 14 to stabilize.

The Exchange

Spells in effect = Inspire Courage/ Kyomi Bot /

Kyomi has 10 hit points at max, so taking 13 damage means that she's at -3. I'll do the stabilize check on the game thread and then post Torgen soon.

I quickly built Kyomi into Herolab so I can Bot her. She had a couple "added traits" that she exchanged for a feat. They aren't in my Herolab package (and I have bought a lot of add on's). So, I just swapped out those things out for the dodge feat. FYI: New AC 16. Just trying to keep things simple.

Seeing the girl slip through her fingers, Kyomi sighs.
She moves into position to keep Rochelle from moving far enough away and firing her bow.
I tried with the bark, but you force me to bite.

bite: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 1 = 23 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5 Lethal damage. Inspire.
Possible crit!

bite: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 = 10 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5

Being right next to Rochelle, her bite is easy to find it's mark, she clamps down hard on the dominant arm of Rochelle, a snap is heard as the bone breaks from the strong jaw muscles of the quasi-fox.
SNAP!

Botting Kyomi

The fox like person stalks forward toward Richelle.
That was not very honorable, jumping out from hiding and shooting at us. I have learned a lot and hold true to the tenets of being a Pathfinder. Explore, Report, and Cooperate.
You- Richelle - had Pathfinder parents, yet you do not cooperate. I'm going to have to take that Bow from you. You are misusing it.

Kyomi moves forward, taking a faux step to the left, but really springing right. Wrapping her arms around the mid section of Richelle.
grapple: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 1 = 17

I have obviously rubbed someone the wrong way.
I'm just not having fun with this campaign as my role-paying dynamics are just different. This is a good time to drop Linzi (my character) out and allow you to find another 2-4 players that want to PBP.

Good luck to everyone else on this board. I sincerely feel it's best to withdraw for party chemistry.

The Exchange

Spells in effect = Inspire Courage/ Kyomi Bot /

Again, I might have someone who'd jump in for a short time onto PBP.

Well, that fort is so perfectly placed in the region. Wow, the surveyors sure got it right. Look at how awesome it will be for trade and protecting the region. We have to wrestle that place away from the Stag Lord.

Linzi's okay with anyone joining us. I'd prefer just the party of 4 or 5. - GM, did you want me to see if someone will NPC a character for a short jaunt?

With a whine, Linzi replies to Ekun's promptings.
AL-Riii-ght. I'm waking up. I'm putting on my smiley face and my keen eyes- just give me a minute.
She makes her way out of bed. She peers out the same window as Ekun.
That's victory --Legs. That's what you are seeing. Our little group o' do-ers just done did. We got the fog to retreat. But we better go to it's edges and see how we can push it back further.
I've heard it said, "You are only as good as your last victory." Which means, the masses expect greatness from you time and time again. They have short memories, and even shorter patience. Alas, my job is to write fantastical stories to the masses, so I accept the rules of the situation.

She infers that her readership will want, and want until they are disappointed. Her fans and readers will never be sated- instead wanting epic to be trumped by even more epic.

Linzi wakes up very late. She takes the opportunity to sleep in and enjoy the life of an adventurer not yet going out on the trail.

Her room is a pig stye. There's crumpled up paper notes. There's bowls of eaten food (but not washed) on the floor. There's dirty clothes scattered. There's the contents of her backpack strewn about. Even her magic items, the ones not on her body (like rings and necklaces) are in random and unorganized places.

She snores a deep sleep. Only rising when someone knocks on the door to get her going to adventure more.

GM wrote:
"So little one, I like you already! What do you say, O, should we invite her to join us sometime?" He finishes with a loud guffaw.

Linzi gets a devilish look on her face. what he said could be taken *oh-so-many- ways*. She decides to dive-in?

Oh, I'd love to *join the both of you*. Do you mean join you for a game of poker? Using the double entendre of the last word with emphasis.
Or do you you'd like a third person for *parlor games*? Or are you asking to make a stitch? I mean do some sewing?
She looks at their reactions, checking to see how "worldly" they are.
She then laughs. Oh, I bet you meant go out on an adventure... searching the forests - right?!
She looks intently at their reactions. She LOVES reading people and their reactions.

Then Pyros sneaks up, hearing the conversations and probably the rumors she'd been spreading.
Linzi spins around, very surprised at Pyro's voice being so close. He certainly snuck up on her!
OH! EXECUTIONER!! Don't you just *love* this party?! The music that's playing is a jammin' .The people are genuinely happy and feel safe. THAT-IS- ALL- BECAUSE - OF - Y-O-U! This wildlands needed an executioner, and you have tamed this part of the forest.
Oh, so I'm not rude - here's my two new friends. You freed them from slavers - right?

She gives this totally innocent look to Pyros.
@Gm - Bluff is +12 just in case it's needed. Smile.

Faerin wrote:
Is Linzi really going to start making enemies of NPC's for no reason?

If it provides awesome roleplaying and posts. I think this is a great way to get an NPC some dimension. Pyros already engaged with Valerie and can take things in any direction he wishes because I posted a thought that Linzi was jealous of Valerie's beauty. I encourage the rest of you to do the same. I think there's so much depth that can be explored about our own characters and the NPC's outside of combat. I'd be thrilled with a whole page of posts about the party night at Oleg's.

Linzi needs to learn more about Ekun, yourself, and Pyros. For example, I referenced Pyros's tattoo's in my last post. WHAT a GREAT OPPORTUNITY for him to exposition what they mean and why the player wanted them in his character description.

I also would encourage the PC's to ask Linzi why she's being harsh on Valerie. I may even admit in character that she's just being jealous and petty. Or I may not.I'm certain it will depend on the questions and environment. Linzi's certainly not perfect. No one is. I always try to lean into character faults.

The Exchange

Spells in effect = Inspire Courage/ Kyomi Bot /

Linzi is going to party. She is going to be a social butterfly. Flittering here and there. Listening for gossip. Listening for story ideas. Listening for how GREAT her and her companions are. Telling people, You ain't seen or heard the half of what's happening out there in the wilds. Just wait for my book. It's sizzlin' hot!
OH! You know what else is sizzlin'? The romance budding between the Aldori Sword-guy Pyros and Valerie. I heard her asking about his tattoos. The one with the rose vines intertwining. She'd asked about the meaning of the budding red roses. If Valerie wasn't hinting at sexual innuendo, my name isn't Linzi of The Velvet Voice.

When someone she's gossiping with mentions how both Pyros and Valerie are "just over there at the tavern table together", Linzi will feign surprise.. and mouth. "See, I think some alchemist is creating some heavy *chemistry*.".

Linzi wants the rumor mill to make Valerie "claimed" and thus off the singles market. Once her work properly done, and rumors spread, she makes certain Ekun is having at least a little fun. She wants to hear at least one laugh from him tonight. She also goes to Faerin with one of those starter conversations, Oh, you should have heard how they exaggerated the spider den encounter. People at this Trading Post think there were like 10 spiders. But, I did tell them how *GREAT* you were Granola. I want that record straight. You helped us survive death's door.
*****
At some point, she ambles up to Regongar to see what he's all about.
[b] So, people tell me your name's Regongar and you are *ELECTRIFYING*
She giggles at the pun and description of the halforc.
You got a nickname? Or should you head out on campaign with us and I'll give you a fitting nickname. You don't wanna be called anything said about you around this camp.
She uses that to break the ice and start a conversation - drinking a pint of ale while checking out the half-orc.

Divine Favor x1
Mage Armor x1
Communal Prot. from Chaos x1
Communal Prot. from Evil x1
Remove Blindness x1
Shield of Faith x1

I like what Farin said. Also, if you want someone to come in for a short time and PC/NPC one of the people for a short time, I have a few friends that might want to do a short PBP stint. This can give the GM a bit of a break. GM- PM me on NPC's you'd like to roll out. Where we going next, and who you want to maybe join us.
Personally, I ONLY want a party of 5. The encounters have been way too easy with 6. Nothing against the game, but they were not challenging at all with 6 in the party. Especially since we seem to have a lot of magic drops.

Again, I'm open to how others feel, but we never got into negatives in any of the encounters. I don't think we got to single digits or ran out of spell power.

The Exchange

I'll take things in a few hours (taking wife out to dinner for date night) .

I also want to check on the other PC's. Shayn's been gone for 3 months. We also haven't seen Harrim in 6 months. Do we want to just move forward with the 4 of us? I'm totally good with that. Might speed up the game. Or add a 5th by invitation or asking a former PC to return?
Based on the encounters, I really don't think we need more than 4 core and steady posting players.
I defer to the opinions of the rest of the PC's and GM. I just know we really don't need to complicate the GM's life having to run the game and 2 GM NPC's.- when the combats were easy for a party of 6.

P.S. So glad Pyros invited the girl to the party. I'm looking forward to my reply and I thank you for the interactive roleplay! THANKS PYROS!

Correction. If others have a better UMD (I'll start ), they can take the wands. I checked and I might not be as UMD as I thought.
If other PC's don't have/need the wands. I'll make Linzi effective with them!
I'll take ear piercing shriek none-the-less. It's on my caster list.

I'm checking things, but Linzi will probably take the wands (I am pumping skill points into UMD). Also the headband of charisma. Fairly awesome for a bard.

Upon seeing all this treasure and loot!
I'm throwing a party!! Open BAR at the Trading POST! If I don't see at least 3 people dancing on the slanted rooftop by the end of the evening, it'll be a major disappointment! She then goes around and asks everyone.
You going to my party?
You going to my party?

She very overtly DOES NOT ask Valerie to the party. I mean, having that hot a girl at the party hurts her chances with the guys. Linzi's charasmatic, and doesn't need competition.
There's certainly girl beauty politics going on, and Linzi is nice, and good, but petty.

To this statement, Linzi rolls her eyes. She keeps a bit quiet as Ekun is obviously upset. There's a time and place to correct someone on the rules of story boarding and novel composition.

He also brings up an excellent follow-up question.
Portals and their destination.

Good question Legs. I guess we have to figure out if Tort-turd created the portal. If he did, we'd need to know more about him to see what kind of magics he employed. Maybe he has a spell book.
Or, if it's this "holy place" that helped create the portal, maybe it's a place that offers a thin membrane to another place - like "the upside down".
Or it folds space and the other side is the Aldori Treasure room.
I guess we need to ask the Kobolds - Hey Chief Sootscale -- what's so awesome about this room? What did it hold?

@gm any hints or spellbooks or skill rolls to glean more?

But, something is itching her mind. Like what items did that turd pass through the portal. What items that were more important than these "relics"?
and, the next question, who is on the other side receiving said items?

Linzi advances forward. She's not worried about much since there's lots of images of her. She wants to get close enough to the archers. Focus on limiting their effects on the battle.

Not certain if it requires a double move to get to the archers or not. If it does, then She'll use color-spray next round. If it's just one move (Linzi's speed is only 20) then she'll color spray this round.

You dim=whits don't even know how to "bend wood" properly. Why don't you take a break from this fight.

color spray:
A vivid cone of clashing colors springs forth from your hand, causing creatures to become stunned, perhaps also blinded, and possibly knocking them prone. Each creature within the cone is affected according to its HD:

1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Keep at her! I'll help out Executioner next. Just keep more blood on the inside of you - meatbag!

Linzi starts celebrating as the mites fall one by one to her magics. She was hoping for all of them to get crushed immediately, but where was the *stooorrrryyy* in that? No good romance novel has the Don Juan Mc'Lovin wow the red headed princess on the first conversation.
Can you feel *THAT* Captain Compost!
and Linzi does a halfling dance in celebration. Her verbal reference of a fictional man in one of her books that's totally out of control and wacko.

then she sees Pyros get a sword to the side from the one Mite that survived both her magic color fans.
Oh! That's gotta hurt.

Let me in there Executioner!! Let me at 'em!

Linzi looks to get in position and blast them again!

Linzi blasts out of her hands a fan of colors. Hoping to catch the others and shove a bunch of color in their ocular lens.

Color Spray 2/3 daily uses.

Linzi scrunches up her face. Not a pretty sight, as the negative energy washes over her.
will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

It must have been the power of a pouty face, because the Senechal's evil energy didn't hurt that much! (-4 HP's).

Linzi moves forward and creates the colors.
Go Small of Go Home! She declares as she works to take out all three.
but then she sees the limited effect.
OH BALLS!

MOVE PYROS! JUMP BACK!

As she says this, Linzi grabs hold of her necklace and moves into position to blast the goblins in a 15 foot cone!

From her hand leaps a wave of vivid colors. They overwhelm the visual senses of the Mites. Save DC 15 Will save.

Color Spray details:
2 HD or less: The creature is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round. (Only living creatures are knocked unconscious.)

3 or 4 HD: The creature is blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, then stunned for 1 round.

5 or more HD: The creature is stunned for 1 round.

Sightless creatures are not affected by color spray.

So, if Pyros doesn't actually move out of the way, Linzi moves behind him and blasts him along with the others in the 15 foot cone. If he gets out of the way, I cast the spell through the necklace and then move 5 feet into position.

Linzi starts singing, hoping to inspire her friends in this combat.
She whispers to Ekun.

Let me try to wow them with wonder so we can advance upon them. well, we'll only do that if there's a large distance between them and us.

Depending on logistics , She will try to fascinate the mites. Keeping them mesmerized so our front liners can get into tactical position before attacking. Otherwise, I'll prep a color spray to blast a few. No need for Bardic as the Bless is already a morale bonus.

Onward! Let's try to parlay with the Mite Quuen, but if she won't allow it, then let it be the last command she makes.
