Kiwyn nodded at Siren as they entered the temple. ”Exactly.”
Looking back at Lucca she smiles. ”You won’t always have the option to run from your troubles Lightning.” She says in something of a big sisterly tone.

She glances around at the temple’s staff her trying to judge their reactions to her appearance. It wouldn’t be the first time she had to excuse herself from a house of worship.

”I found mine a couple weeks ago as well. I had appeared amongst my belongings, but I never could determined how or why.”

Colt R. Warwick wrote:
"That leads me to my chief worry: we were brought here, on purpose, at the same time... by our charming century old hostess herself. Empress Vincere."

”Hmm. An interesting theory.” She nodded thoughtfully. ”But to what end then? It would seem to be counter to her interests to summon individuals to get in her way.” She remarks with her chin held between thumb and forefinger in thought. ”Unless…”

Kiwyn shook her head. ”It’s unproductive to speculate too much before looking for the facts available.”

Kiwyn does her best to stifle a giggle at Caleb's outburst. Looking back at Siren she jokes. "Eventually they figure things out, it just takes them longer."

Kiwyn glances at Siren as she pulled out her map. With a slight tilt to her head she regards the x's gathered together, with only a stray x ahead of them.

The Unnamed Siren wrote:
"Interesting."

”Quite.” She agreed as she pulled out her own map showing it to Siren. The x’s on her map matching the undine’s. ”Seems someone wanted us to meet. I’ve seen Caleb’s and would give good odds that the others have identical papers.” Probably echoing Siren’s thoughts.

Folding it up again she tucked it back into her pouch and followed Caleb as they approached the temple.

“You would think.” The vixen said with a chuckle.

When the metal armed man who introduced himself as Colt begins bickering with Caleb, Kiwyn just rolls her eyes and shakes her head a little. ”Boys.” She repeats and gives Siren a sympathetic glance.

Kiwyn smiles and chuckles a little at the extravagant names the boys seem to have and then regards Siren. ”Siren." She nods"Simple names are better and long ones. You can call me Kiwyn.” The vixen tilts her head and places a finger on her chin thoughtfully. ”Though the gramps once referred to me as Kiwyn the White after I healed one of the caravan guards who was at death’s door. He said it was because of my healing skills.” She smiles again and looks back at Siren. ”But I’ve never bothered with titles myself.”

She looks over at the young speedster and smiles at him. ”Is it okay if I just call you Lightning?”

Tilting her head towards Caleb, she chuckles. ”Mr. Caleb and I have already met.”

The vixen turns her attention to the man with the artificial arm as they approach the temple.

Kiwyn watched Lucca's electricity fizzle out just past the barrier. She shook her head and continued digging. Eventually she snorted as she realized the barrier curved under, blocking passage. The tiny fox turns away from the hole to rejoin the others turning back into her kitsune form as she does.

Shape: kitsune

"This is troubling, the barrier extents only a little underground, but it seems to bend back making a tunnel unlikely. But it can't hurt to look." The vixen says as she walks up. She regards the metal-armed Colt. "If the barrier is as strong as you say, I fear we may be out of our depths. But we can still try."

Regarding the mirror Kiwyn frowns. "It seems the barrier ages things passing through it. It would explain the bone remains and the yellow one's electrical attack fizzling out so quickly."

She faces Samahs as he speaks and nods in agreement. "Learning more is always a wise choice."

Caleb Zephorn Caliban wrote:
"I know the way for you 'out-of-towners'."

Kiwi nods. "Please then, lead the way." She looks back at Samahs again, smiles and bows slightly. "Thank you for your help."

Even with her head start, Kwyn arrived roughly the same time as the others. The metal-armed seemed capable of detecting magic so she left it to him. With her ears perked she listened as the others spoke, but busied herself examining the barrier's edge. Careful not to get to close the small fox dug at the ground near the barrier to see if it did extend into the ground.

When the young speedster attacks the dome the tiny fox jumps and yips in surprise.

Kiwyn frowns at Colt’s comment not sure how to take it. She regards Lucca as he hurriedly speaks and then darts off a ways. ”He certainly is, um… energetic.” She says regarding Siren. She’s about to follow after the young man when Caleb begins yelling.
The vixen frowns again and instead walks over to Caleb. ”I am sorry for your loss. She says after a moment. ”I’m afraid though that there is nothing that can be done for him.” She places a hand on his arm and positive energy once again flows through her. A warm feeling spreads through Caleb.

Kiwyn looks down at the lord's still form and then back at the gathered crowd, she spots the younger one who had asked if they can help. After a glance back at the group, she turned back to the youngster. ”I can not speak for all, but I promise those of us willing to will try our best.” She gives the young person what she hopes is a reassuring smile then turns back to the group.
”This can’t be left unfinished. Someone dangerous is out there making a mockery of life and death.” She gestures in the direction Lucca had ran. ”That young man seems willing to venture on and I for one can not let him run off alone.”
She nods at Caleb and with a smile she turns and runs to the edge of the stage. Leaping from it’s edge the vixen turns into a tiny fox with two tails midair and races off to follow the yellow speedster.

Kiwyn frowned in frustration as the metal-armed man as he stalked off towards the stage. ”Boys, always so hard headed.” She sighed and stalked after him.
Catching up to him she pauses to watch his arm sprout a small bowl of some kind. The vixen shakes her head and lays a hand on the man, gathering positive energy into her. Focusing it through her, she felt the energies flow down her arm and out of her hand.

Kiwyn watched in surprise as the multi-colored rays shot from the metal armed man. The surprise caused her to hesitate as the metal armed man tried to dodge out of harm’s way, only to run into trouble as the last of the undead and the cryohydra both strike him. ”No!” She cried out and snapped her hand at the undine. And with a whisper and flicker of will another bolt of force flew from her finger to strike the undead down.

Will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
That was close.

Kiwyn watched her bolt of force tear the undead in half with on a hint of satisfaction. She still felt some sympathy for the poor thing. Suddenly the lord speaker cried out in a voice clearly not his own. Nearly shaken, the vixen shook off the oder and frowned.
He was being used as puppet, or worse possibly being possessed. With a flick of her wrist and glance, a word of power and minor effort of will another bolt flashed from her finger and raced toward one of the undead Siren had just put an arrow into.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Suddenly a giant crashing sound shakes the ground and Kiwyn looks back only to see the Cryohydra on it’s back and Caleb holding it’s tail. She’s not sure what just happened but she has an idea it must have been impressive. Her attention shifts to the yellow clad young man calling from near the stage.
He’s right. The man should probably be restrained for everyone’s safety.

Satisfied she had helped who she could for now the the fox maiden turned on the closest guard she saw. ”Get the citizens to safety. Leave this to…” Sh almost said “..to me” but as her attention turned back to the attack at Caleb’s battle cry. She saw others engaging the monsters. ”Us. Leave this to us."
Kiwyn advanced towards the undead undines seeming to be focused on another ocean native and a man with a strange arm. With a few simple gestures and a whispered word of power she extended her hand and a bolt of glowing force sprang from her finger. It flew true, weaving past anything not it’s target and struck one of the undead.

Kiwyn could only watch in horror as the undead undine cut down the citizens and guards alike. Without a second thought the fox leap forward, using it’s smaller size to slip through the panicking crowd. She understands that she lacks the physical or magical strength to take on the creatures but she will do what she can. Suddenly a yellowish blur tears across the plaza. In th blink of an eye it disarmed two of the creatures and rendered a third incapacitated.
She decided to turn her attention to something that she felt would be more helpful. The fox made it’s way quickly to where people had been injured. Trying to figure out who she could help and who needed healing first.

Kiwyn glances at the crude map as Caleb holds it. She watches a nearby X on the map begin to move away and glances in the direction. Like Caleb, she only catches sight of a fair haired figure moving off at a impressive speed.

Caleb Zephorn Caliean wrote:

Folding it to a slightly smaller map, Caleb spoke to the tian woman.
"Um, sorry Kiwyn. I have to go. Stop by Cayden's Hall later and we'll talk more."
Caleb begins to wind his way through the crowd, checking the map for reference.

As he leaves, Kiwyn slips the pack off one shoulder and removes her own parchment. She resettles the pack as she opens the paper and watches as the X’s on it move. folding it smaller she tucks it into her belt pouch and begins following Caleb at a distance. She smiles to herself at the possibility of finding out more about this mysterious map and just who or what it is leading, not just her, but others as well to.

"I'm not yet sure where I need to go."

Wow! That's pretty sweet.
The Mage Armor will help protect her.
I'll be honest I never really use metamagic feats, but the increase to caster level to overcome SR could be a big help. :3
Spells known, would that include healing spells she has access to?
And are these abilities she already knows she has, or is this something she'll discover she has a bit later?
And for the sake of variety, I would be willing to sacrifice Fly for something else. Maybe the as long as she has 1 point in her pool she can shapeshift between her forms as a move or free action instead of the normal standard action.
Just a thought. I can get that later if I'm willing to spend a feat or two, but that may cut into her tails. ><
If not, then some to boost her healing abilities maybe.
I'm just rambling now. I'll leave it up to you. Thanks.

”You may call me Kiwyn.”
She said gingerly accepting the offered hand.

Spoiler:
I see her heading towards a archmage type. Using her expanded spell casting to hopefully compensate for her limited fighting skills. I choose the White Mage archetype of the Arcanist instead of going for sorcerer combo, because I liked the idea of being able to do a some healing if needed, and I thought it fit her personality. She isn't looking for fame, she just wants to help those she can and hopes her magic can help her do that.
I thought the additional tails would be an interesting way of visually showing her magical growth. As well as giving her a few extra magical abilities.

I hope that makes sense. :)

Also I didn't think of it before, but I probably could have lowered her wealth to boost something else. Considering her coming from a forest village, I think it would have been reasonable to assume that she's maybe a little poorer then normal people.

Kiwyn let out a short squeak of surprise at the sudden voice addressing her. Turning to face the speaker she tried to look innocent of any mischievous thoughts and smiled at the man.
”Ah, yes… She was… terrible.” she chuckled. ”At least that’s what my master, I mean mentor told me during studies.”
Her head tilted a little as she regarded the man. It took a moment, but she recognized him as the man she saw running earlier.
“But you be careful, festivals are ripe patches that the unruly and dishonest love ta be taking advantage of.” The old man’s warning came as a reminder in the back of her thoughts. But she decided it be polite until she could tell his intentions.
Kiwyn offers the man a warm smile.
”So... do you live here or are you visiting for the festival as well?”

Since I haven't actually made a stealth check yet, I would be fine with Caleb noticing her as she looks around with a mischievously look.

I'll leave it as is. It's not that big a deal. :3
I did sent you a PM with what's probably a stupid question but I figured I should ask now when I thought of it.

Happy to be here and I look forward to our little romp. I can honestly say looking at the stats I need to stay away from any melee. :p
I added the stats to the class line as requested. If you need anything else just ask.
I also just found a racial trait I should've picked. Oh well.

The caravan rolled through the city’s gate shortly after dawn. Kiwyn sat in the front of one of the carts craning her neck, her grin was contagious as her eyes sparkled in eagerness.
“A festival!” She exclaimed as she watched the preparations underway. Old man Corvus chuckled at her excitement.
“Aye lass, tis should be a wonder to behold once it starts. Tis the reason we came all this way.” He grinned. “We should be able ta return home with some hefty purses.”
The young lady returned his grin as the caravan pulled up to the inn the caravan master had made arrangements with before hand. Kiwyn dutifully helped the others as some retrieved personal bags, the others readying to take the cart and wagons to an nearby warehouse and stable.
Kiwyn as nearly bubbling with excitement and the old man could only smile at her. “Well then, I believe our deal has been fulfilled. Go on then, have a look around.” He face went serious for a moment and her wave a finger at her in mock sternnesss. “But you be careful, festivals are ripe patches that the unruly and dishonest love ta be taking advantage of.” He smiled again. “If’n you be needing to find us, we’ll be here till the end of the festival. And of course, you’re always welcome on our carts.”
The young women nearly knock the older man over in an energetic hug. “Thank you gramps.” she said with a smile. “I promise I’ll be carful. May the grass always be greenest under you.”

With a wave she grabbed her own bag and hurried out of the inn and down the bustling street. She picked her way through the streets, avoiding alleys out of caution. At one point she had to quickly dodge a tall brown haired human running by. A bit later she paused to let an angry looking half-elf and orc exit a tavern before continuing on.

Shortly there after she came to some kind of town square. Looking around her eyes were inevitably drawn to the large tarp covered object with a makeshift stage and podium set up nearby.

”Ah, I remember hearing of this. The Festival of Kings. Master Dresden told me about it once.” She remarked to herself even as she licked her lips. It was a real temptation, the tarp covered mystery. One thing she hadn’t out grown was her natural curiosity, and maybe her youthful mischievousness. With a playful grin she glanced around for somewhere she could slip out of public sight for a moment.

Thank you for choosing me. And I hope those who didn't get chosen get to find another adventure to join. I wish every the best here and elsewhere.
*bows politely*

I'll keep my tails crossed for everyone. :p

Reading back over the fluff I posted (cringing at the errors the auto correct didn't quite catch) and I noticed I was a little vague about where she got her copy of the paper. Unless you have something in mind already, I could see her master having sent it to her without telling her he was doing so. If you have something else in mind, I'll happily roll with it.

I made the same mistake at fkrst. You can replace the + with a different +2.

So, for example. A dwarf gets +2 Con/Wis and -2 Cha
I switched it to +2 Str and +2 Fighting with -2 Cha

I see, thank you for pointing that out. I'll fix it now.

further down the rabbit hole:

“Again” The voice was encouraging, yet stern.
“Yes, Elder Dresden.” The young woman said as she attempt once again to clear her mind and focus. After a deep breath she reassumed her stance, her shortspear held ready. Melee was never her strong point in the last decade she had been a student of the Archmage Dresden.
“Remember, you won’t always have magic available to you.”
“Yes, El-“
The Archmage’s staff flashed as he advanced suddenly. Within a handful of strikes and parries Kiwyn, was on her tail again. The older man shook his head and sighed, offering a hand to his pupil.
“You are distracted child.” He said sagely. “You hide something and it bothers you.”
The young kitsune rubbed at her sores and winced at the knowing tone of her master. Getting to her feet with help from her master Kiwyn flushed under her fur.
“There might be something, Elder Dresden.” She admitted, her hands gripping the shaft of her weapon nervously.
The older man waited patiently as the younger mage collected her thoughts. After a long moment of silent hang in the room Kiwyn exhaled, breaking the silence. “Something happened last week.” She said meekly and paused.
“Go on.” The older man encouraged.
Kiwyn licked her lips and continued. “Well… that is…” She sighed. “I just, I don’t know how it happened.” Then added quickly. “I wasn’t trying anything forbidden.”
The old mage just nodded sagely.
She licked her lips and took a deep breath. On the exhale the air round her shimmered, revealing what was hidden.
“I see.”
The older man said quietly as he took in the two tails now swaying nervously. Kiwyn had readied herself for yelling and accusations, what she hadn’t expected was the calm exceptance.
“Elder?” She asked cautiously as the older man turned and headed towards an adjoining room. She followed him into the study and washed as he set aside his staff. and ran his hand across a bookshelf. Stopping his hand he withdrew an old tome and carried it to a table. Opening it he beckon the young kitsune to him and she obeyed.
“I have suspect as much in the last few years. Your talent has grown swiftly, coming to you with a natural ease I have seen in few others.” seeming to find the page he sought, he turned the book to her and she looked down at it.
“The nine-tailed fox.” She read softly and looked up at her master unsurely. “But they are only a myth.”
He smiled in a fatherly manner. “I have heard rumors in my long travels, but I had never actually seen more then four tails. You though, I believe you may just have the potential with in you to achieve the impossible.”
Kiwyn stared at her master dumbfounded. “You, you can’t truly believe that, Elder.”
“I do.” He replied calmly and placed a hand on her shoulder. “As a also believe it is time you expanded you lessons.”
The young girl frowned. “More lessons Elder. But already spend all the time I can here. Others already question my actions and try to follow me. If I spend more time here they will surely demand answers I’m not permitted to give.”
The older man chuckled and squeezed her shoulder reassuringly. “Fear not my child. I am not asking you to come to me more then you do. I am saying it is time you began your own journey.”
Kiwyn looked shocked. “Elder…, you can mean…”
“Yes, child. It is time you left the forest and experienced the world for yourself. You have an incredible gift. You can learn so much and in doing so, help so many.”
“But…, but I have never even left the woods”
“No buts, child. As your teacher, this is the test I put to you. I know you have the strength to do this.” His look softened and he took some pity on her. “Go home now and sleep on what I have said. The morning brings with it new beginnings.”

****

The memory faded as dreams often do as the morning rays peeking through the crack in the curtains.
With a yawn and a stretch Kiwyn slid from inn’s bed. it had been nearly a year since she had made the decision to follow her master’s advice. It had been a bumpy start. She had encountered a few bandits, a few unfriendly creatures, and a con man or two. But she had found her way through them all to varying degrees of success. But they where out weight by the number of smiles she had received from the help she was able to provide. She smiled to herself at the thought.
The room was small, but not uncomfortable. Pulling a brush from her pack she began to carefully brush out her hair and then the fur of her tails.
Standing up she regarded herself in the rooms small mirror and sighed as she swished her tails. “It is a shame no on gets to truly appreciate them.”
With a passing thought the air around Kiwyn shimmered and where once the fox maiden stood there now stood a young human looking lady with long blonde hair and exotic features. She moved to dress and ready for breakfast with the caravaners she had been traveling with for the last few nights, checking herself again in the mirror once dressed. She smiled in satisfaction, frowning for a moment as her thoughts drifted home for a moment. She never had to hide herself back home, but her master had warned her that some may not take easily to the children of the forest.
Although she had met more the a few who did accept her for what she was, which made her happy. She liked helping people.
Kiwyn glanced at her pack and thought about the mysterious paper that had seemed to just appear out of nowhere. It was little more than a crude map of lines and x’s pointing toward the city of Absalom. She lucked out with the caravan, they were nice people. Kind and hard working, but able to relax and enjoy themselves. She had been able to work for her passage as a healer using her knowledge of nature and alchemy, using magic discreetly if needed.
Downstairs, Kiwyn smiled to the others as she made her way through the crowded dining hall of the tavern.
“Over here little one.” Old man Corvus who ran headed the caravan waved her over with a smile. He was a grandfatherly type she liked hearing traveling tales from. She greeted him with a smile and a grandduaghterly peck on the cheek that he chuckled at.
“How did you sleep gramps.” She asked, joining the table.
“Fine, fine.” He said with a smile. “Eat up now, you’re too small. You’ll never find a young man if you put on some weight.”
“Gramps.” She chuckled as the others did the same. “I’m not looking for a man right now. I have a world to see.”
Corvus gave her a broad smile. “Well you’ll soon be seeing the city at the center world.”
“Absalom.” Kiwyn said with a smile.

Sorry, I think I went a little overboard again.

I just realized I hadn't put down any equipment other then clothes and a pack.
Also, is it too late to move a skill point? I wanted to drop the point in diplomacy and put it into craft, alchemy. It seemed more fitting given her dip into healing abilities and I would imagine it would have been a part of her training.

Okay, I never made a gestalt character before so if I made any mistakes I apologize.
I know I'm shooting myself in the foot a bit by double dipping into arcane caster, but I thought it fitting. Can you say Archmage. :p

Fluff/Backstory:

Many years ago, deep within a forest old,
children of the forest ran and played.
They swam and laughed, climbed and jumped,
they hid and hunted.

One day, a day like any other, a cub ran with suppressed laughter to her favorite hiding place. No one had ever found her there no matter how closely they passed by her. When asked she would never reveal her spot to her friends. It was only the hollow of an old tree, but it was her secret place. She could not think of what drew her to it in the first place, but she could always find her way to it without fail.
But this day would be different.
As she sheltered herself within the dark shadows of the hollow, trying not to giggle as the young satyr skulked past in search of his fellow playmates, she shifted her weight and suddenly found herself tumbling down a flight of hidden stair she had never noticed before.
At it’s end the young cub found herself in a large room, lit by a large fireplace and many lights that danced in jars. A curious child, she carefully began to explore this new place, finding halls that lead to rooms other rooms. Rooms filled with books, rooms filled with paintings and statues, rooms filled with plants and rooms filled with things she could not identified.
Venturing into one of the rooms of books, she found a large old looking tome sitting open on a table a single unlit candle. Slowly, as if drawn to it, the cub approached the open tome. The open page was covered in many symbols she didn’t recognize, but as her eyes lingered on it a single word began to take shape. The cub found herself trying to sound it out in a whisper.
“F-f-f-fa-wa-go…”
She frowned and cocked her head slightly. She found herself trying time and time again to pronounce the strange word. Not knowing how long she stared at the page she found with each try her determination grew, Finally, the sounds seemed to fall into place in her mind.
“Fuego.”
She whispered the word and something like a spark shivered through her, the candle by the book flickered to life. a steady yellow/orange light where there had been none earlier. She fell back with a squeal of surprise. carefully she pulled herself up, peering over the edge of the table at the candle. A wide grin spread across the cub’s muzzle as what she realized what she did. The other children would be so jealous when she told them what she had done.
But wait, she thought , they would want to see for themselves. They would want to see her special place. She could do that, So it would be her secret she decided with a serious nod to herself.

“A wise decision young one.” A calm and fatherly voice sounded from across the table. The cub yelped again, this time is surprise and fear. Falling back on her tail she found herself scrambling backwards, bumping into the wall. She stared, wide-eyed, at the older man sitting in the chair across the table. had he been there the whole time, had she been so caught up in the book, had he been watching her. Every instinct in her screamed to run, but something else kept her from fleeing like a frighten little forest creature.
The man made no motion to move. No attempt to stop her. But as she regarded him, the candle light reflecting in his eyes drew her in and he spoke again.
“You are the first to find your way into my home in a very long time.” He said, adding with a chuckle. “And possibly the youngest.” The man slowly rose from the chair and walked around the table. “You have shown the curiousness, the determination, and the talent I have been looking for.” The man came to a stop before the young cub. With a smile he leaned down and offered her his hand. “If you wish, I have such wonders I could teach you.”
The child slowly raised her hand, hesitating for a moment, but a twinkle in the man’s eyes seemed to speak to her and carefully placed her hand in his. With that she accepted the old mage’s offer and found herself taking the first steps on a long, magical journey.

Sorry if it's a bit too long, I think I got carried away.

Perhaps another time. Good luck to those chosen, and have fun.

1am and there I am franticly trying to retype it all, half from memory. :p
Had to get it done then because I worked a 12 hour shift the next day and was afraid I wouldn't make the deadline.
