Can a paladin follow a CG goddess?

I've actually played a paladin of Desna in another game, but that required me to take a trait in order to do so as CG. Anyway, in that game I came up with the following code. Feel free to use, disregard or modify it if you want.

Quote:

I will seek to do good deeds before all else and let my example be an inspiration for others.

I will never give up hope, no matter how grim a situation or divination might be and it's my solem duty to try to change the outcome of dire portents.
I will always speak my mind and let noone put bonds to my words and I will fight for other's right to have their say as well.
I will not let anyone imprison me or any other unjustfully and will seek those who are confined without good cause.
I will do whatever is in my power to protect the innocents from direct attack. I will fight with all my power against those that threaten the common folk, especially those that seek to prey on dreams.
I will seek to stop the evil agents of Lamashtu and others I find attempting to do evil deeds.
I will always seek new experiences and travel the endless paths of the world, even if it's only a short trip around a settlement I will not let myself be shackled down to remaining stationary and without new input.

Somehow paizo have managed to make archtypes for LN and NG as well as antipaladin archetypes for NE and LE, but none yet for CG.

Hum it's too late and a weekend in family (with you know these kind of loooooooooong dinners...) and a monday of hard work made the deadline a little bit too close for me! I'll withdraw from this recrutment, good luck everybody!

@Nilam: Welcome, i'll look into your character and add him to the submissions when possible.

@Draconillias: I've noticed you've been updating your alias, please tell me when your character is ready.

@Baldric: Sad to hear it, hope you get better soon.

@Balazar: While i'm still coming up with a solid method to pick the characters for the party, role overlap is very low on my priority list and will probably only be used as a tiebreaker.

About paladins, i personally always ruled that Paladins can serve any Good-aligned god, sometimes even Neutral ones, it never made much sense to me that a non lawful-good deity wouldn't want (or be able) to have divine warriors fighting for its cause.

@Lornis: Ok, have a nice dinner and good luck with work.

I only mentioned it because Nilam chose Desna for his goddess, but looks like that won't be a problem.

Sovereign Court

Draco is done, just need to crunch some numbers and fill in the blanks with his backstory(which I'd like to do in game). Other than that I'm thinking of doing an In-character area to give you a preview of him as a... person.

That'll be done today once I decide how I want that.

Here is Digger's wizard. Just needs equipment. Delicious fluff on its way.

background:
Ylwœd's grandfather was a wise and powerful wizard beloved by their elven community ...until he wasn't. Rumors of forbidden studies and experiments haunt his memory to this day. Ylwœd's father moved his young family far from their old enclave to the woods near Sandpoint. They lived as isolationists and have ever since, especially after Ylwœd's mother left under unclear circumstances. His father taught him to hunt, but the simple life wasn't meant to be for Ylwœd. He began secretly studying his grandfather's tomes, showing an aptitude far more natural than that of his fathers' ways. Upon reaching adulthood, he began to continue his studies in Sandpoint.

appearance and personality:
Ylwœd is long and gaunt, even for an elf. His skin is pale as the moon and his eyes dark as night. He never learned to dress in any way other than functional.

He is quiet, introspective, and very depressed. He attempts to eschew emotion and relationships, but is secretly fascinated by them. He tries to live his life following logic and logic alone. That doesn't always work out, though.

Didnt even think of it at the time! Never ran into issue before. Most of the time time as long as its a good or lawful deity, non-evil its been okay. Although, I've also seen where people dont choose a deity to follow which seems to be more weird.

Thanks for heads up and checking for me though!!

Still watching with interest to see who gets picked. :)

Alias of Paranoid Oldman.
Wandering cleric of Sivanah with a decent focus on healing. Later on will be summon focused. Very heavily specialized into profession (minister), which should be very fun to roleplay as a neutral cleric (administer last rites to the dying goblins anyone?). Spent a long time going back and forth on some of the choices with this character, so it took a lot longer than I thought. That being said, I do not envy the GM here, he has a lot of really strong applicants. Good luck everyone!

If you haven't already, please review it just to make sure she doesn't have anything carried over from the last game (such as acquired items), as well as making sure she adheres to the Character Creation rules i've established.

Godspeed everyone, and good luck narrowing it all down Wilken!

Good luck finding a party that'll make a great game Wilken.

I realized after I saw this I had forgotten to put the drawback down when I rewrote the profile. I fixed that now.

Recruitment is now officially closed. I'm not sure when i'll have the results since i have 21 excellent characters to go through, as well as some life and work variables. But i'll keep you guys updated.

Good luck to all!

Sovereign Court

Good luck, and may the odds be always in your favor.
... oh, and the gods as well, make sure you suck up to them as much as possible. Then again it is up to Wilken... suck up like there's no tomorrow! Love the GM, live the GM, Worship the GM!
... But back to the point: good luck everyone!

May the best characters win.

Hope things goes well :). You said you would keep us posted. How is the selection coming along? Did you read through some of the submissions in advance and have been able to get through all of them, or have you been caught up in other things (like work) and been unable to get through the massive number?

I gave every character a quick read while they were posted but now i'm doing some deeper analysis, taking notes, etc.

Spent this day looking for any "weak links" that i could eliminate before moving foward, found none.

I have no work for tomorrow so hopefully i'll be able to find the final five or at least narrow it down to just ten people or something...

Here's hoping the process goes well. :)

"From vat I hear ze new temple in Sandpoint is going to be incredible and ze festivities fabulous! It vould be a pleasure for me to be inwited! And who knows after festival perhaps I stay in town and kill monster?"

Updated background, didn't realize it cut off the entire story when I pasted it.

Still can't believe the internet ate my profile change .
1am and there I am franticly trying to retype it all, half from memory. :p
Had to get it done then because I worked a 12 hour shift the next day and was afraid I wouldn't make the deadline.

I save everything in an office doc first and then copy n paste. That way if the internet eats it I can redo it in 30 seconds.

It actually happens quite often that i try to save a character and it does't work, i think a had to retype every character i made so far, lol.

---

Just to update everyone on the selection process, i've just went once again trough every character's statblock and fluff, now i'm doing some healthy e-stalking :p

Kind of glad to see Im not the only one wondering what happen to half my profile.;)

Sadly, I've had had it happen more than I'd like to admit. I tend to pause in between writing and come back. Posting on the forum and editing profiles, tend not to agree with doing that.

Need to remember to use a office document, which would work better!

I use Google Docs, but copying to clipboard right before hitting submit has became a habit so I don't lose any kind of posts.

I believe i finished my selection. It was a hard process and i've got myself a headache.

Will take a few hours to rest and reflect on my decisions before posting the final results.

*anticipation builds*

Drum roll...

Sovereign Court

Picks up a Lute and begins to tune the strings... loudly and obnoxiously.

"Thunderstruck" by AC/DC? :D

*patiently busies herself making coffee and cocoa, handing out spare cups as and when requested*

*also occasionally apologises for the racket going on in the background*

Intensification intensifies...

ultimate intensification spiral activate.

I guess I should add to the suspense?

Also, if the bard is playing "Thunderstruck" does it do sound or lightning damage? Or are we looking at some kind of a buff?

Half caster level sonic d4, half caster level electric d4.

The spell is colloquially referred to as "Angus' Hammer" in some areas that speak Taldan, I believe.

First of all sorry for taking so long to pick and announce the party. Thanks all of you for taking the time and effort to craft and submit so many awesome characters, you guys have no idea how much i wish could run four tables to fit everyone, and i was really debating wether or not to run two games before realizing i couldn't. In the end i felt that at least i could add one extra slot and have a party of six characters, so i did that.

But even then, the unfortunate nature of recruitment is that i have to let go from 70% of the characters; it was a bunch of very hard choices for me and i'll probably feel guilty for the weeks to come, lol.

So here we go:

The following people, please report to the Discussion section, we have some work to do before starting the game.

Kalais Ryndel

Garbund

Viridi Sorn

Squeeze Bits

Ansgar

Sable

To everyone else, i hope your characters find many adventures in the future. If i ever need more characters for this campaign i'll make sure to invite you.

TY for your consideration! Congrats to all who won.

Yes, I hope you lot have fun.

Thanks for the consideration.

cool - thanks!

Perhaps another time. Good luck to those chosen, and have fun.
