Female Human Conjurer 2

"Has yet to be properly setup or was it already... erm, used?" Kathe takes note of where it is and will be careful should she need to move by it...

Female Human Conjurer 2

Kathe gets out of the way as the two ratmen scurry by... but her ears are perked at the mention of a dangerous wizard. This was not something she was aware of or somehow completely missed in passing conversation. At first it was just going off to a barn, then it was some ruins, then there were ratmen attacking. Now there's some dangerous wizard? It was getting interesting, but the 'in over her head' feeling was not going away. It was, in fact, growing...

Female Human Conjurer 2

Kathe tags along, all fifth wheel-like and such. She sticks to being at the back of the group as they sate their curiosities with the exploration and hopes that her presence will be justified at some point. Though, if she is honest, not being needed for something like a combat is a good thing.

Female Human Conjurer 2

"I'm not entirely sure... uh, maybe just shout when we're about to enter a room. I don't think our presence here is a secret. Anything here that wants to lie in wait is either already doing so or listening for it. But maybe with enough evidence that we're not easily stopped, we can get attempts at diplomatic resolutions over with before putting ourselves into harm's way."

Otherwise, she offers a shrug, unsure truly how to proceed with such hostilities... however non-threatening they were proving themselves to be. Albeit, they are encroaching on someone's hovel. She doesn't quite know the history behind these ratmen and their relationship with the town and hopes the killing is justifiable...

Female Human Conjurer 2

Also was busy during the week... ^_^
Kathe watches or rather hears of yet another of these ratmen going down despite the efforts of Duraz to try to talk peacefully. She appreciates the effort the cleric made at least. Due diligence ant all, right? She shakes her head, feeling that there hasn't been an opportunity yet to justify why she's even there. Not that she's looking for such an event... no. If the entire day goes by where all she does is stand around and shake and clap and cheer, she can sleep soundly still.

"Perhaps we should announce ourselves and intentions? Not that we haven't more or less made our presence known throughout the whole tomb."

Female Human Conjurer 2

Immediately seeing how little room there is, and her inability to do anything useful in such a space, as in it's too tight to summon anything, Kathe moves back down the rope. She doesn't want to be the reason anyone's having a difficult time.

"Oooh, you... you all do what you're good at," she calls out as she works her way back down the rope.

Female Human Conjurer 2

Not wanting to be the only one not up, Kathe follows after the others...
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9

Female Human Conjurer 2

I'm confused as to the layout. Do we have a slide or mat to view?

Confused as to what's happening atop the rope, she looks around and hopes she's not the only one staying behind at the moment. With fighting in such close quarters atop the rope, she'd rather wait until there's more room...

"What's up there?"

Female Human Conjurer 2

Just going to follow along and just avoid touching anything.

Female Human Conjurer 2

Kathe decides not to voice a contrary opinion. She would be very interested in the vaults and such... from a historical perspective. Entirely anthropological and not at all with a profit motivation. Well... not too much so. Expeditions and digs need funding, after all. Research is not free.

Female Human Conjurer 2

"Well... it's not necessarily a conjurer quality," Kathe says, still a good bit satisfied at her luck of having only just recently read up on some arboreal beasts and those twisted by magic. When it came to traps, however, she'd let someone else's expertise shine through... whoever that happened to be.

Female Human Conjurer 2

"It was a krenshar... a beast born of magic long enough ago that no one would really be able to tell if it was created or was augmented at some point. They likely live in arboreal regions such as these and can come in numbers from just one to a dozen. So, there could be others if this wasn't somehow a pet..."

Though not particularly good at spotting things, it doesn't stop Kathe from looking around, and she moves to center herself with the others as they move into the tomb. She observes the area... knowing that old places can be brittle or weak if not well maintained, and given the growths outside, that could likely be the case.

her arcana 18 grated her 2 facts... so its ability and its organization with educated guesses as to its environment given where it's currently been spotted. I was typing this up over a while and did not notice the newer posts that removed her need to make a spot check

Female Human Conjurer 2

not going to spend a spell slot on a krenshar :P plus she doesn't keep mage armor memorized on a usual basis.

Kathe visibly shudders.

"Krenshar... I cannot fathom how such a creature came to be. Magical, obviously... apparently covering your ears does not help.

Female Human Conjurer 2

wow, when you guys get into combat the posts come flying. Would muffling her ears give Kathe any benefit?
Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Kathe saw the creature, knows what it is and suspects that the rest of the party can handle it. Though, knowing it's fear attacks are auditory, she covers her ears. Otherwise she waits to see if the party can do anything and simply moves to put others more adept at combat between her and the creature if needed.

Female Human Conjurer 2

"All I can tell you is that it's relatively young for ancient ruins, so... a dejy burial tomb. Find it odd that it's sitting here undisturbed, neither used, visited or well, robbed even, as is the fate of a lot of them can be. Though, I guess locals might be able to tell you more about it. Are you saying rat-faced as in literally with the face of a rat or is that some colloquialism or metaphor?"

Kathe speaks from near the back of the group and also makes no move toward the tomb than has already been made.

"Perhaps you could tell just within the first few feet of the entrance if there's been any activity within.

Female Human Conjurer 2

I do not have knowledge local. But I do have some others, so as to learn anything about the tomb...

Kathe continues following, feeling compelled to at this point. Might as well, no? But when the party reaches a tomb, she finds it... simply curious to be there.

Female Human Conjurer 2

Kathe follows along as well, still feeling dragged by circumstance for the time being but also by curiosity. Ratmen... who? What? She's usually interested in knowledge and learning new things with a smattering of other things here and there.

Female Human Conjurer 2

Kathe feels like she somehow agreed to something without understanding all of it. Non-confrontational by nature... she just tags along. Though she is a bit disappointed at not being able to meet the other conjurer. Someone as focused as he is supposed to be is rare. She's too curious... being the only one so devoted to just one school. Some call it foolish... she calls it committed. Yet she's never been tested. It'll be interesting...

Female Human Conjurer 2

"Is... is he at this farm?" Kathe questions as the group apparently just walks away. She follows them hoping there's some answer to her question. But she's not getting it, it seems and soon it's a bit too far from the village to turn around. It feels uncomfortable... awkward even to just break away. Plus she was curious as to what two people that could wrangle a griffon were going to do next...

Female Human Conjurer 2

She responds to the human cleric, "I'm Kathe, a conjurer from one of the circles..."

Then she looks to the elf with an uncertain expression before continuing "... I was curious as to what he was doing up here. And what do you mean 'short a conjurer.' Not that conjurers aren't the most useful of the schools - one might say I'm biased in that opinion. Have you a need for a conjurer?"

The prospects of continuing travel and exercising her arcane prowess was certainly something Kathe craves. Usually wanting to stick to herself, she isn't one to go out and do so alone, however. Yet, if an opportunity presented itself... she would take it.

Female Human Conjurer 2

"That was rather impressive the way you handled that creature," Kathe says as she approaches the elf and human that helped secure the beast, but her eyes take in the basiran and halfling at the same time. "I assume you are part of a group together? Might I ask of you if there's another conjurer from one of the twelve circles here? I heard word of one, but... well..."

Female Human Conjurer 2

Whatever happened to the other Conjurer?

Female Human Conjurer 2

Nothing to be sorry about. Just not sure how to drop in on the PT smoothly enough.

Female Human Conjurer 2

Oof that was a spirt of activity in what seemed to be a weekly update (playing catch up?)

Female Human Conjurer 2

Kathe takes her belongings to her room despite the loud conversation about a rat-faced individual, dismissing it as idiomatic for some untrustworthy individual. She gathers her notepad and leaves the room soon after intending on checking on the winged creature to satisfy the mild curiosity and the growing mental list of what the creature could be.

"There was another conjurer out this way..." she mutters aloud, hearing about another in the area and then proceeding to think on the hypotehtical situation of running into them. She did like meeting others like herself who enjoyed poking holes in the fabric of the plains and calling for aide.

Female Human Conjurer 2

"Yes, yes, that'll do... private please," Kathe says, withdrawing a purse with a clasp from an inner pocket and producing five silvers. "Give to you or... would it be Thurgald?"

She will see to putting her belongings in a room before venturing back out to walk among a market or see about this odd winged creature.

Female Human Conjurer 2

Kathe finds the Fireside Inn at the center of the village, passing through a small crowd gathered around a cart. She's more pressed to find her luggage set away in a room than to mill about with the locals for the time being, and awaits in the common room for what she hopes will be someone to come get money in exchange for service.

"Lad," she calls out to the half-ling having responded to a gray elf calling such from across the room. "A bit of the bread would go well, but first I would like to see someone about a room."

The human woman stands with two cases of mismatched luggage just inside the common room, boots with an average amount of travel worn into them and better than average cut to her clothes. And air of study should be visible from her, as if half of what she carries around with her are unnecessary books.

Amy feel free to jump in!

I'm not entirely sure how. Can I get a better description of what's around the pt, town, inn at least? Never really jumped in like that before without a good reason for being somewhere.

Kathe isn't much of a traveler but she might be from the local area or from a city nearby if there's books or a library. Being a seamstress, she is also able to make various clothes but specializes in utility items, like belts and straps, which also make her good binding books. She could easily just be in the Inn, but would keep her nose to herself unless there's another reason for her to run into the PT.

Female Human Conjurer 2

Grease is one of the required spells, imo.
I'll still have things like Orb of Sound/Fire/Electricity for elemental damages. I was reading elsewhere in this campaign that crafting magical items won't cost XP? Did interpret that correctly? I LOVE making use of scrolls, and it often puts me down a bunch of gold and xp.

Female Human Conjurer 2

While I want to play a conjurer like I have Kathe currently built, I don't know if that's what's best for this PT, seeing some of the posts. You guys might need a dedicated evoker or just a generalist. (maybe even a druid focused on summoning/animal companion). I'm fine rebuilding Kathe to be more generalist.

Currently, she is a focused conjurer, with necromancy, enchanting and evocation as her denied school.(1 Necromancy is rather pointless imo, enchanting can just get silly as it becomes a fallback on too many occasions and I thought about challenging myself without having evocation). BUT if that's not what the party needs ,then I can easily rebuild her a little. Please let me know. ^_^
