There will be absolutely more than one deity dying/being affected. Only one from what we call the Core 20 though.

No, tomorrow is definitely a hype stream where we will be giving you knowledge of whats coming up. The particulars of the tie ins and things will be discussed closer to them actually coming out.

That Paizo special sauce/sizzle (a combination of care, creativity, and fun) that's kept me a loyal customer since "Burnt Offerings" grabbed me by the eyeballs in 2007.

I'd also like some word on just how much of a bloodbath this is or is not going to be for non-Core deities. A 5% fatality rate in the Core 20, with other changes possible to deities who will remain makes me, as a fan of the "other guys," very nervous about select personal favorites.

(I have a thing for Empyreal Lords, Archdevils, and deities from beyond the Inner Sea)

I wanna see what sort of cool setting books we might get related to this shake-up.

When the Core deity who gets it in the neck is announced, I'd kind of like to hear the reasoning for the specific choice, even if it's something that can be summed up in one sentence, like, "Aroden was a jerk."

Not lazy at all! We wont be going into TOO many specifics, but thats what the forums are for! The theorycrafting can shift from WHO to WHY and HOW.

Korvosa is an island?

It includes Endrin Isle, but that isn't the whole city or even the main part of it.

When I first started here, I suggested sinking the entire island of Kortos as a way to shake things up, until it was (rightly) pointed out to me that destroying something so integral to the brand was a TERRIBLE idea.

We plan to talk about the data on stream yes lol. We have over 3700 responses so far.

Unbeknownst to them, I'd decided to reach out to Liane while we were still rolling the d20 to see which god died!

Now, would it be possible to bribe Paizo as a whole enough to make the company decide it was okay with early spoilers after all, and then bribe one Jonathan Morgantini enough to actually make the spoilage occur? Probably. I suspect that the total price tag on that one would wind up pretty high, though.

Having seen the rough outline for stuff I think people will be very excited for what we are unveiling. From the Office of Expectation Management, its certainly a tease/hype stream and not a deep dive, but people will be excited nonetheless.

Did they say that only one of the Core 20 will die? Maybe someone else's death kicks off the war, and at some point in there Torag heroically sacrifices himself for some reason or another, so the dwarves aren't a focus for most of the war but have a lot to do in the aftermath?

One (1) of the Core 20 are gone. Aroden isnt coming back to get offed again and the slain deity doesnt come back at the end of things.

Okay, I don't know which stuck out to me first; that it's another "death", or that it's Rovy-boy. He's the one I was most confident in capping off this series, but let's keep reading and see how this goes....

Ah. So the being known as "Rovagug" dies, but Rovy 2.0 is coming up. That's... yeah I guess death-in-quotation-marks is the best way to put it, where there's absolutely a death but also the role isn't emptied.
Also, yikes I hadn't thought about the collateral damage full-on FIGHTING him would cause. Like, not just deities dying, but the physical effects to the landscapes. (Messing up relationships between the gods, I think everyone predicted that 'removing the threat keeping them all behaving' would happen, but not "blaming the person who first had this idea". That's the sign of a good story; things you hadn't considered, but once you read it you're like "of COURSE that would happen".)

Ah yes, the concept of "maintain the status quo". Which I feel is deeply flawed; a better alternative is Chesterton's Fence, which is like "don't change something until you know WHY it is the way an it is, because maybe it has an important purpose that isn't immediately apparent".

If I'm not able to watch the stream (highly likely, with my computer), is there going to be a comprehensive blog post the next day, about the most important elements from the stream? Is there going to be a thread here where someone posts things as they're revealed on the stream? (I haven't been on the forums for long, I don't know how stuff is done here with that.)

We are gonna have the VOD up on Youtube as soon as we can, and I'm SURE the Community will toss out a thread talking about al the announcements for the stream (actually I'll go do that now)

Has it been announced how late into the livestream the dead god will be announced? Or will it be a countdown of safe gods or something? Or just unknown?

It has not been announced and I dont see it BEING announced. ;) it'll be a fun ride.

A very cool prophecy to cap it off! I never quite settled on whether it was possible they'd be willing to kill Rovagug, but I suppose this settles that. But it's an interesting future this offers; he can be killed, he can be beaten. Even if doing so would be catastrophic for the Cage he inhabits.

A few of the gods haven't been mentioned at all in the prophecies thus far. Gozreh, Lamashtu and I think Calistria have so far been unmentioned. Though I don't think this has any bearing on anything. No mentions of Dark Tapestry stuff here either, which is what I was thinking based on the previous prophecy. Unless you count Rovagug himself as lovecraftian enough. Anyway, is it too insane of a theory that some of the non-core deities mentioned here might be in danger in War of Immortals? Apsu, Hanspur, Grandmother Spider, Hei Feng, Thamir. Though I seriously doubt they'd kill Hei Feng only a few months after the Tian Xia World Guide comes out, and even more so Grandmother Spider.

...And the prophecies end with my two favourite core 20 gods on the chopping block. John Paizo, I will pay you two whole dollarydoos if you kill literally anyone except Lamashtu. It can be all nine of the rest, I'm willing to do that. Now let's keep this hush-hush.

Honestly, ALL those four are ones people have said "oh this is absolutely who will die", so I'm looking forward to whoever it is. Also because I enjoy (certain kinds of) chaos, and there will be people FUMING at whoever it is who ISN'T going to die, and that's funny.

Oh, question about the Twitch stream thing: how long does that take to get put on Youtube? Because I have an old computer, and whenever I try to watch a Twitch stream I end up a few minutes behind anyways, so "watching it as it happens" was never an option for me.

Completely understand! It can take a few days ( processing for Youtube is intensive for longer videos) but I know we want it up ASAP so... since Im not the one actually doing that I'm not sure but not too long?
