I was inspired to write this after reading through the forums. Off the bat, please keep it civil. How do you define fun? Is it eeking out every last possible point of damage? Minmaxing your character to the peak of efficiency? Effortless role-play? What do you consider a must-have at the table? I'll start. I'm easy. If my friends are there and having fun, I'm good. I'm not trying to create fine cinema at my table. I miss rolls. My monsters take it easy on the players. Five adults sit around a table every other week and don't think about life.

Hello! I recently got the Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Board Game. It comes with a truly epic number of minis. I'm a newbie at painting anything, much less detailed work like miniatures. Please give me your tips!

I just read this week that Raymond E. Feist is writing a new books series that will combine the two separate universes from Magician/Midkemia and the Firemane novels. I actually love combining universes like this. What books have you read whose story you'd like to see continued on the table? I'm a huge Wheel of Time fan, and we DID get that 3.5 book that tried its best with a wonky magic system. I could see Magician working fairly easily. Malazan Book of the Fallen as well.
I havent had a chance to play it yet, but I crowdfunded the HOMM3 board game from Archon and y'all.... I freaking love these minis. Its like its 199X again and I'm sitting at my family's Gateway desktop with the MIDI sounds streaming from Soundblaster speakers.

Are you starting Curtain Call fresh, and need to make up a past? Or is this a continuation of the adventures of a long stories group? What past adventures are being immortalized in the written word for you?
The title basically says it all. I'm not above using all the troops necessary, even if I don't like them (those Hellknights certainly help early game). What unit combinations do you use? Strategies? Or do you set it on autopilot to focus on the characters?
