Yvonne also heard a disturbance below, but it was not her place to handle whatever it was. Landolf would be able to manage things if it was important. Probably. Or maybe Valghaz. At any rate, Landolf had given her a job to do: deliver a message to the Gravin. Matters like this required a certain amount of interpretation: a servant's prerogative if you will. One did not simply knock on the Gravin's door at the inn, after all. Fortunately, Krizta was standing guard at Bruno's door and Yvonne approached the bounty hunter instead. "Master Landolf asked me to inform the Gravin's attendants that their champion for tomorrow's bout is downstairs armwrestling."
Yvonne stands nearby as Landolf's attendant in the Empty Head.
Landolf will be saving his XP on this installment, but Yvonne gets to purchase her Agility advances (6-10). I'll need to get a bookkeeping post in soon but I should check on fees & so forth. The expenses I can think of are: * food - we didn't have enough when we left & needed to resupply on the way.
Does anyone have business in Kemperbad besides delicering Boirman's luggage?
Yvonne helped guide the stevedores to stow the Count's luggage on board the ship and noted his businesslike demeanor. It was always a relief when the nobility displayed some competence. As the work continued however, she realized with some annoyance that some of the Count's entourage would be joining them. Landolf had only told her about the one passenger and their supplies wouldn't last with extra mouths to feed. Which was why a servant needed their nobles to be competent. Society's upper crust would forget things like "how many people will be on the barge" even on their best days.
Arriving back at the barge, Yvonne looked for anyone that was still in the area. The barge smelled faintly of char and smoke despite the repairs. She'd need to give it another scrubbing...
"Lord Landolf has accepted payment to convey Count Otto Boorman to Kemperbad on a mission for the Empire," she told any crewmembers present. "I need to make purchases for the journey. Is there anything I can do to aid in preparations for our departure?"
On the journey north, Yvonne helps the crew pole the barge down the river.

After learning that the Black Thorns would be taking possession of another barge, Yvonne gathered together Landolf's remaining gear along with her own and moved it to the new ship. "Good to see no one is badly hurt," she seems unsure whether to happy about this profitable new development given the recent battle.
"The lot of you don't take nearly good enough care of yourselves," the young woman grumbles as she hands over Landolf's weapons. "Take this, just in case." She gives Landolf a healing draught she purchased earlier.

Yvonne cringed at the sight of Morrisleb in the sky, but said nothing. She pulled at her livery as if hoping to shield herself from the dire moon's gaze.
Yvonne helps Joseph escort the Thorns off the Berebeli, but helps to bring them water to wash up with elsewhere.
Mechanically, Yvonne gets XP when Landolf does and having Ambitions doesn't make sense...so she doesn't have them. In-game, Yvonne is more loyal to the family and especially Landolf's mother than she is to Landolf himself although I could imagine that changing. She was sent to help Landolf since he's working on furthering the family interests. (See both of his current Ambitions) As a counterexample, if Yvonne had been around when Landolf was pursuing his former 'Prove himself a competent sailor' Ambition, she likely wouldn't have helped with that without being asked. Final note: Landolf's 'Gain the support of a noble house' Short Term Ambition is in the slot he gained from the Glorious Weather downtime event he got back in Ubersreik. His normal Short Term Ambition slot is currently unfilled.
Just in case it isn't clear to everyone what is going on, this is Landolf's servant 'trapping' character. I've made an alias for Yvonne, but in most cases I'll probably only post on Landolf if they're both at a scene in most cases, though I made an exception when they met in-game. I've seen people chatter back and forth between their two aliases in other games I've been in and I'm not a fan of how much it bloats the Gameplay threads. Yvonne probably won't be with the party much when they intend to go into danger, as she isn't built for combat really. The skills she can most contribute to the party are probably Drive & Evaluate, as well as assists in some other skills like Haggle. Yvonne has Read/Write due to a lucky roll during character creation. She's pretty good at Stealth & although I don't really mean to use her in that capacity we'll have to see how things go. She has an interesting Talent in Well-prepared, which allows her to retroactively purchase small items under certain conditions. Yvonne is getting half of Landolf's xp & is sharing his Fortune/Fate & Resolve/Resilience pools.
The young woman stopped short of Landolf, struggling with her tears. "Lady Gersun sent me to join you. I left just days after you left the estate and got stuck in Bogenhafen. It's such a relief to find you." She straightens her back and curtsies to him. "With your permission, I shall enter your service. Lady Gersun instructed me to aid in your endeavours." She spares a glance back to the Bowling lanes. "I'm afraid I've hired on for the games here, however." * Landolf grants Yvonne permission to continue working at the Bowling games for the rest of the day. "I'll come to find you when the games are closing tonight. If I'm detained elsewhere, come to the docks tonight. We've been staying aboard the Berebeli." |
