Thank you to Syvis and all the fans who pointed out the secondary objectives are currently missing from this PDF.

Secondary Objectives for Starfinder Society Scenario #7-10: Rasheen's Requiem:
If the PCs see through Rasheen’s ruse and discover the truth, they succeed at their secondary success condition. Doing so earns each PC 1 additional Reputation with their selected faction.

That should be 7th through 10th, right? Regardless - wow, this has been an open thread since, like, season 1!! Very curious to see how Rasheen's story ends!

Yes! Rasheen's Requiem is an adventure for 7th- through 10th-level characters!

Just popping in to answer a few questions:

You'll notice we kept the options in this survey as broad as possible. This was intentional, but yes, it does mean that some options overlap with facilities already in the Lorespire Complex. Rest assured that whatever option is selected, we'll work internally to ensure it's distinct from anything else already in the complex and that it fits in with Absalom Station and our setting.

Would I love a book about the Starfinder Society or Absalom Station? Yes, absolutely! There are no books currently announced on either topic.

As to whether we'll be seeing more detail on other locations in the Lorespire Complex in the coming years? I can assure you that showcasing and utilizing the locations within the Lorespire Complex that already exist is on my radar and matters to me. As to when you can start to see these locations hit gaming tables? Related scenarios are not yet announced.

Thanks all for your participation and thoughtful feedback!

To echo CorvusMask, this is definitely not whining. Our bold formatting is there for a purpose and both accessibility and readability are important to us. Thank you for pointing this (odd) error out. As correcting these issues takes more than one team along the way, I can't speak to speed, but I can say I'm looking into it and getting the process started.

Thanks!

We could total up the entire cost of everyone's defrex herding gear and divide it up eavenly amongst everyone. So if Guess? is successful at getting a free mount, we can evenly distribute the savings / costs amongst all 6 party members. I'm totally okay with that. We can actually even deduct it from the coffer loot slide payout amount so no need to actually deduct the credits we have on hand in our character sheets.

Sound good? Seems to me like this encounter is a group thing so the total cost can just be divided evenly across the entire group.

Yeah, I'm fine with that.

And yes, I highly recommend the Expanse for anyone who hasn't watched it. It's really good.

The group sets out through the misty jungle with Joanna leading the way. The mist is dense and the jungle is loud, with the sounds of chirping birds, hooting primates, and the persistent crackle of electric jolts spawned by the mist.

In time, Joanna pauses the group at the edge of a clearing filled with thick, tall grass. Outside the grass field, the jungle thickens, making moving through it incredibly difficult. If you try to go through the jungle, one space counts as three spaces for moving. After a moment's hesitation, the group begins their trek through the tall grass.

There's a flash of blue and brown fur as a strange little primate bites at Joanna's leg, letting out a loud WHOOP! Relying on her years of ninja training, Joanna dodges out of the way, narrowly avoiding the little furry primate's sharp teeth. Another furry primate bites at Mysterra, chomping on her leg for 4 piercing damage! There's a cracking sound, and a lightning bolt shoots out of the mist at Joanna, blasting her in the chest for 3 electricity damage.

Delving into the library, the group finds numerous copper and metal tomes, all magically hovering throughout the archive. It looks like any books near ground level were consumed or stolen, but those higher up remain untouched.

Unfortunately, none of you can understand the text inside the books. Still, you collect a number that look particularly valuable. At Capa's touch, one of the copper plates disintegrates, forming a series of glowing gold arcane sigils that orbit his head like a halo. This functions as a crown of blasting.

The orange lizardfolk shakes his maracas and sings, inspiring his companions to greater heights. The pink lizardfolk rushes closer, claws bared, and the massive blue lizardfolk king pulls out a javelin and throws it at the yellow wolf, but his javelin goes wide and strikes the far wall. Daisy blasts the blue bug with her crown, searing its antennae right off and heavily damaging the creature.

Donny tears into the other bug, ripping its carapace open with his sharp talons. Dora tries to finish off the bug but her bite misses completely. Bigfoot trundles into the fray and finishes off one of the bugs, but Happy's too busy fighting alongside Bigfoot to take down the last bug.

Slowly, Rocky shuffles over from across the battlefield and bops the last bug on the head with his big rock fist. The bug crumples under the blow, leaving out heroes victorious.

The group scurries through pressing crowd, pushing and shoving and winding their way through—and keeping a close eye on their loot!

Finally, they arrive at their home just outside town, and stash their loot inside.

As you pass through Wati, everyone can give me a Knowledge Local check, a Perception check or a Diplomacy check to Gather Information.

When you arrive at your home, what are you doing? How are you stashing away your treasure? Are you eating dinner in or going out to eat? Any plans?

As the group argues, with Daisy leading one way and Rocky leading the other, there's a clattering from within the domed archive... Silence.... Then a rapid skittering across stone. Something is coming!

Everyone has one action to take before combat truly starts and I roll initiative. If you want to move or hide, now's the time!

The group presses on, into the domed building. Inside, they're greeted by a tangle of halls. The grand crystal dome atop the structure has collapsed into massive shards that jut from the floor at odd angles. A cracked, tessellated floor and worn stone alcoves and walls highlight this ancient building. Dirt and debris on the floor indicate animals or creatures of some kind live here. Their scat is oddly shiny.

The walls reach up very high, nearly thirty feet into the air. Lining the walls from about 10 feet in the air and higher, are thin engraved copper plates, which float gently in the air, bundled in groups like open books. Their tarnished pages no doubt filled with all manner of esoterica — if only you could read them.

Below 10 feet, there's nothing on the walls, as if someone's stolen all the books they could reach.

Everyone place yourselves at the map's entrance. You enter from the direction of the yellow arrow. Is there anything you're doing as you enter? Discuss among yourselves where you're going.

Paizo Employee Organized Play Line Developer

The group passes by the gate. Outside, a crowd lingers to cheer on the explorers. Some see the group's pile of loot and start shouting prices at them, hoping to purchase the goods for cheap.

Did you want to try selling some of your items to the crowds? It's likely you'll get less money than if you sold to a vendor, and much less than you'd get at an auction, but it's also easy to get rid of right now.

How do you react to the crowd of cheering, yelling, grasping people?

Valcoono returns with no more lizardfolk! You think this is the last of them — or at least the last of those who are willing to fight.

Meanwhile, Hopwil's arrow slams into the boss!
I think your roll should have been +11 attack (unless you're within 30 feet or you choose to activate your Tiger animal focus as a swift action). Then the damage has a typo; it should be: 1d6. I don't see any way he'd have a +2 to his damage, but if he was within 30 feet he'd have a +1 to damage. Unless you use one of your magic +1 arrows?

As the boss's blood drops into the pool, the white crocodile snaps its jaws hungrily.

The group hurries to the exit where they're greeted by a familiar face—Bal Themm!—the friendly guard who let them into the Necoropolis early this morning.

"Back just before my shift ends, hey?" she asks pleasantly. "Happy to see you return. Many groups haven't yet." She grows silent for a moment, then shakes her head and smiles, rattling off questions while a lottery official scribes notes on a piece of papyrus and a second official examines your treasures.

"Which site did you explore?"

"What purpose did the site serve?"

"What condition was the site in upon your arrival?"

"What condition was the site in upon your departure?"

"Recount your experience within."

"What objects did you remove from the site?"

"What records did you keep?"

"Have you any documents or relics to turn over to the church?"

"And finally, if considered worthy, would you like to continue in the lottery?"

Please answer each question as clearly as you can. Remember: your continued participation might depend upon how detailed your responses and your attitude to these officials.

Fortunately, the lizardfolk slips in the mud and nearly hits his own toes.

Joanna leaps up the tree like a monkey, but the group all miss their attacks—all but Sokon, who pummels the soldier with magical missiles. As the soldier falls, her weapon discharges, firing at a particularly dense patch of fog that sends of a chain reaction of electrical charges and bolts.

Everyone takes 8 electricity damage, or 4 if they succeed at a DC 13 Reflex save.

As the blinding series of flashes and shocks winds down, the group is alone in the clearing, with the bodies of two soldiers dressed in green armor—presumably Azlanti soldiers, if they're from the same place as that drone Sokon analyzed earlier.

What's up?

Paizo Employee Organized Play Line Developer

The group presses on, through waist deep, muddy water and clouds of flies, deeper into the lizardfolk den. Soon, the mud tunnel gives way to a large circular chamber—the largest you've seen in the den and the first you've seen of natural stone.

The cavern spirals down like a corkscrew into a partially flooded pool with a circular pillar rising from its centre. Atop this pillar is a throne, built of bone and wood, upon which sits a massive lizardfolk — nearly 11 feet tall! — back lined with spines and wearing a thorn-tipped crown (blue lizardfolk). Two crocodiles peek out of the water surrounding the pillar. Nearby, further up the ramp, is a lizardfolk that shakes shell maracas and sings a song (orange). Atop the rise and across the room, two Lizardfolk bedecked in feathers and shawls dance wildly purple and pink.

On the highest level, similar to your elevation, are two massive cages containing scared and tired looking grippli. A trio of muscular lizardfolk guard the chamber, close to you.

"It is!" Faiza retorts. "Keep moving."

The group continues past the well, until they reach a tall obelisk, marked with hieroglyphs and Pharasma's religious iconography. Located a short distance from the Necropolis' entrance, this is a holy site, a landmark, and a grave marker honouring all those who died in the Plague of Madness. Here, citizens of Wati can enter, pray and honour their ancestors, then leave, without venturing deeper into the Necropolis.

At the sight of Pharasma's Needle, the Voices of the Spire point. "Exit's just past the Needle. You can find your way from here."

They turn and leave, heading back into the Necropolis.

What do you do?

Paizo Employee Organized Play Line Developer

The group sets out through the desolate, empty streets, keeping a brisk pace but moving in silence. The distant sound of scrabbling claws, howling voices, and mournful wails are nearly drowned out by the constant wind, and the swish of sand across stone.

In time, the group passes by the Umbracene Well, a massive hole in the earth, ringed in stones like a well, that drops down into darkness. The Voices of the Spire each raise a hand, drawing a spiral over their hearts with a finger, to ward themselves from evil with the sigil of Pharasma, goddess of life, death, and fate.

"Stay away from the edge," Faiza remarks, breaking the silence for the first time during the walk. "Evil dwells within." She doesn't explain further.

Rolls:

Bunursa: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Ava: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Ankhet: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Usathis: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Kembe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Bunursa and Ava hear whispers rising up from the well. Distant echoing voices that sound vaguely familiar. The pair strain to catch the words... Bunursa, you recognize one of the voices as your grandma who died when you were a little bunny! And Ava's certain she hears her mother down there... (Ava's mother kicked her out and is alive) Neither of you can quite tell what Bunursa's grandma or Ava's mom are saying.

I've got Mysticism as well, but it's not going to be my best skill either.

The group continues without healing, pressing on across the uneven field of rubble and ruined buildings to a dome in the distance and keeping an eye out for more strange lights.

As the group travels, their eyes start to hurt, as if from strain, and their throats get scratchy and sore.

Fortitude saving throw from everyone. Animals and magical beasts are not affected and don't need to attempt a save.

Oh, definitely go with whatever most excites you PaleDim! Even if it's not "good." I always go for fun over optimization.

I rolled my character up as a witch warper, FYI. I still need to do gear and name and such before she's posted.

As the lights vanish among the ruins of ancient homes, the group is met with an eerie silence.

Doing or saying anything before moving on? Healing anyone?

The group continues on, heading for the large domed building.

What are you doing on the way, and what order are you proceeding in? Any precautions?

"His wounds are from the ghouls?" the scimitar-wielder asks nervously. "You're better off to leave him. The ghouls can infect those they bite and claw with ghoul fever. If it kills him, he'll become one of them."

"We'll not lose a tourist on our watch, Menes." Faiza remarks. Turning back to Bunursa she adds, "If you've the funds, there are priests at the Grand Mausoleum who can cure ghoul fever—if your dog has it at all. The disease won't show its symptoms for a few days."

The other guard scoffs and shakes his head as he notices the party's bulging bags. "With the treasures they're letting these grave robbers steal from the Necropolis, they'll all come out as rich as the pharaoh!" He spits on the ground, clearly upset about the lottery.

Faiza snarls and the guard falls silent. "The lottery is held at the command of the Ruby Pharaoh—praise his name—and you'd be wise to remember it! They're not thieves. Not today. Long may the pharaoh live!"

The angry soldier looks embarrassed, but both of the soldiers repeat Faiza's words, as all citizens of Osirion should.

"Long may the pharaoh live."

Anything else before you move on? And do you repeat the phrase, 'long may the pharaoh live'?

The oread soldier looks at you in surprise, as if only now realizing the group might be capable of holding their own. "Impressive," she remarks. "But the ghouls within the Old City are one unit—a community of hungry dead. Their leader will not be pleased. But, perhaps, your valour has won you a reprieve."

As the keening wail from a few streets over is joined by another screech, one of the other guards looks at the oread. "Faiza?"

She gives him a nod. "Follow us. We'll escort you to the entrance. The Voices of the Spire have a tentative peace with the ghouls. If we're lucky, they'll let us pass without interference. If not... keep your eyes open and your weapons readied."

With that, the soldiers turn and lead the way out of the alley.

What do you say, do you follow them, and is anyone healing Kembe while they talk?

As Ankhet's holy water crashes into the ghoul's face, it howls and covers its face. But the holy energy proves too much, and the creature crumbles to ash and bone and rotten goo.

A gust of wind howls through the dusty street and an inhuman screech rings out from a few streets over—more ghouls.

The stomp of hurried footsteps and the clang of armour and drawn steel marks the arrival of three figures at the end of the road. Three members of the Voices of the Spire arrive on the scene, swords drawn and ready to fight. Two are human men, one with a scimitar and the other with a khopesh and dagger, and they both look around warily, looking for danger. The third, an oread woman dual wielding khopesh, casts her gaze at you.

"Where are they?" she demands. "The ghouls?"

I was pilot, btw. Unless someone else wants to be it, then I can easily switch to Science Officer and change my background. (For the record, I'm actually not partial to being a pilot, but I worked it into her background since no one had taken pilot and we needed one).

Daisy shoots a beam of magical light from her crown, which slams into the red light. The rest of her animals attack, but only Donny manages to hit the nimble little light. Donny's talons dig into the light.

Heavily wounded, the red light begins to flee the opposite direction as the yellow light.

All creatures adjacent to the red light can attempt an attack of opportunity with a melee attack as it tries to flee.

Do you let the lights escape? Or do you try to chase them down. If you do chase them, which light do you follow?

Usathis cuts the ghoul right in half, while Bunursa's bolt slams into the last remaining ghoul.

The green ghoul snarls and tears into Kembe taking a giant bite out of his side, then he swings around the paralyzed dog and slashes his filthy claws at Bunursa, but the quick rabbit folk ducks and both of the ghoul's attacks miss her by a mile!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'd appreciate a little less on the accent. I usually have time to post while cooking or some other multitasking and I'll definitely misunderstand something on occasion if you lean into it that hard. I think the only problem would be the words spelt out like another real world. So I got everything but 'less' made me have to reread since it turns out it was not 'less.' I'm sure I'd usually get it, but I'm also sure I'll miss it sometimes.

Thanks for asking.
