Groltsch is overrun by the rats and curses loudly as they bite into him. He steps through them and then swings with all his might at the swarm, sweeping across mere inches from the floor attempting to strike as many as possible.
WLD DM: As the swarm moves in, Groltsch sees an opportunity to strike.
DM: If I don't go before the rat swarm, remember that with combat reflexes I get AoO's when flat footed and I have reach. Though I can't recall if swarms provoke.
Groltsch takes the lead, looking around and up to see if there are any more of those foul creatures, bardiche at the ready.
WLD DM: Can you answer my question that is spoilered in my previous post about reach please?
"You need to learn to see like a Ghawn, put that damn light out!" Groltsch growls at Anna. WLD DM: If the ceiling is 15'high, I occupy the bottom 5' square, it occupies the top 5' square, that leaves 5' in between which means I should be able to strike with my reach weapon correct? Maybe at a penalty to attack since it is not usually used to strike enemies above?
After fighting another bout of the sickness that got to him earlier Groltsch finally makes his way in to the room and rushes to the front.
With the discovery of another Orc, this one quite dead, Groltsch tightens the grip on his bardiche and scans around for what could have done this.
"Someone with some good eyes up front, I will be right beside you to protect you."
Groltsch wanders over and takes a look at the corpse of this strange cat. "Well something tells me that this thing won't be alone in here so we need to be extra aware of the surroundings. I suggest we find them before they have a chance to hunt us down. Lets get moving Ghawns!"
Groltsch empties the contents of his stomach onto the floor and walls. "What the he.. blarrrgggghhh.. is that smell?"
Groltsch steps in, taking a look around for any signs of life or activity in the recent past.
"Enough waiting around, when did this family get so indecisive?"
"Well these are obviously not of the same quality of orc as Ghawn. Ignore the weaklings and lets get moving, I for one am anxious to prove the old codger wrong. I say we stick to the edges as much as possible, keeps the chances of things surrounding us to a minimum."
Well Groltsch isn't really interested in anything but smashing things with his bardiche.

RIZZENMAGNUS/DEWN: I think we may need a bit more input from you to push the story along. I just don't want this potentially very cool game to die before it really even gets started.
"Let's see how strong this little wall is."
DM: How are you going to be handling the map? Do you have some sort of mapping program that reveals it as we go? Using excel based maps? I am just curious because if it is as large as the title suggests it may get a little confusing down there.
Groltsch let out a laugh "Looks like it was a good thing we split up then."
"Well looks like you boys are a little worse for wear. What kind of creature has shamed you like this?"
Groltsch grip tightens on his bardiche as he quickly makes his way to the front of the family and towards the coughing, whispering forcefully to the rest. "Quiet you fools, do you know nothing of tactics, if there is something aggressive you have only alerted it to our presence and put us in danger right off the start. It is like I am dealing with a pack of village idiots!"
Which is sad. Tanlen fits into the story of group 2 much better. It has Grandma and the other half-elf."And we now have 2 half-elves"true but they will not be traveling together. You are not bound to Camp 1. If you really want Camp 2 then go for it. It would just be nice to have 2 groups of 6 rather than 5 and 7. If there is someone else that would be willing to jump that would work as well.

Camp 1: Obviously I will be at or near the front. The rest you can figure out.
Precise Strike and Swap Places are the two that were agreed upon. If any of the casters want to change to some casting feats they can organize that.
Bobson/Tanlen: You have a 20pt build and you should have 25 as per the guidelines set out in the first post of the recruitment thread. Lets boost some stats! EDIT: Ninja'd. Damn you Gromor!
Just need to pick a race and I'm ready to post. Half-orc or half-elf...If there is really a choice to make maybe it would be better if you were in Camp 2. I am just joking about the other group being inferior and that 1/2 Orc is the best race ever! I guess we will accept you as a 1/2 Elf, at least until we can get the Druid up to 7th and he can cast reincarnate.

Bobson: If you choose to join camp 1 and you want to play the bard can I suggest that you maybe take a level of rogue either 1st or 2nd level because then you get your trapfinding without hurting your bard abilities too badly. You could also take Magical Knack as one of your traits (+2 CL only up to character level).
5 days with no posting from Basil seems to indicate that we have lost him. If someone from Camp 2 wants to jump to even things at 6 a piece that would be great or Bobson you can just make a guy that fits with Camp 1 and join us instead of the inferior Camp 2. (we could certainly use some arcane or skills in Camp 1)
Groltsch looks at those around him, concentrating on the counting going on in his head then yells back down the tunnel. "What the hell is taking you so long? Are you Ghawns or not? If you are not coming I expect to see none of your cowardly asses ever again."

Camp 1 got their healer (Life Oracle) so feel free to take the muscle to Camp 2. Bobson:
Rulgha Ghawn: Just took a look at your sheet and don't forget to add your Orc +2 bonus to Intimidate.
"Well I have to go underground for a little bit anyhow so it might as well be like this, with lots of family. That seat will be mine, so I guess I will see you in a little while." Groltsch heads past the old guy and deeper into the cave.
Rulgha Ghawn: Although I have not heard from DEWN yet, I would just join in as there didn't really seem to be much selection process. Everyone who made a character is playing and since we lost one, you should be fine to get going.
Just join the game thread here and introduce yourself.
DEWN: There is someone ready to replace TCG as the healer for camp 1. Take a look in the recruitment thread for details. I am guessing we should get him in sooner rather than later.
