As I've just said to Nightflier, due to work and commitment to other games, I'm not going to participate to this game.

I've read all the opinions around and my mind is similar to Solvi's.
I've played Gilian for more than 3 years and while I'll gladly play in an other game of yours, I think this game should rest.

I understand why the new players would want to go on but with all the history and the players/characters we left behind, I don't think resurecting that game will work. The fact that Nightflier as a DM also thinks the same means a lot. I mean, he has to come up with all the new ideas and I would not want him to feel compelled to get the game going.

Gilian Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

As the people fill in the tunnel, Gilian lays her hands on the most injured ones, healing them.

Casts 4 CmW: Duncan, Chops,Solvi and Illyameil: +6 HP each.

Proposition of marching order: Sorok/Duncan then Crunk, Gilian/Pebble,Illyameyl, Solvi, Victurium and Chops. I hope I have not forgotten anyone.

Gilian sighes with relief at the innkeeper words and stops trying to figure how to best divide the party.

I just hope we don't have to go back and get that bloody wizzard out of the legate hands.

She nods to the Innkeeper and turns to the other door. "Let's go then.

People, can you give me an HP count so I know who to heal in priority?

Gilian frowns at the innkeeper statement.

"Wait a second. What is in these tunnels and what do we do if we reach the Dweller ? And more precisely what is a dweller? and why would we need to split, won't we be stronger as a single group?"

Gilian and Pebble move though the portal with Duncan, making sure the serving boy goes through as well.

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29

Upon hearing Eruntalion's remark, Gilian puts a calming hand on Chops and murmurs: "Keep your wits and your calm for now. Solvi and you have a long battle to face to be accepted. And we will be at your side.

Louder with a colder tone, she adds:

"Uh, yeah. Hi again." Chops accepts Gilian's hand and stands. "Were not fighting that guy anymore?" indicating the legate.

"Not yet. First we move out. Then we advise.

Just as Gilian is about to open her mouth to call Sorok back, she sees the dwarf send the sword back to its owner and Chops wakes up near Pebble and her.

I'm sure his astyrax is bound into that weapon ad he looks really powerfull. But we've got bigger issues to deal with now. Let's move.

"Welcome back.", she says, dropping her invisibility and extending a hand to help him raise and further heal him.

Use Cure minor wounds for 6 HP on Chops.

For a second, Duncan barely manages to suppress urge to answer to the legate: "You can have mine," and then try to ram the blade into his face. Duncan is very uneasy because of this temporary truce and is not sure if legate will actually be able to help in any way. It was never one of his best talents, but he tries to read through intentions of the shadow's servant.

Yep.

Still under cover of invisibility, Gilian breathes as her side seems to calm down and focus on the immediate threat. She directs Pebble to go and help Chops should he need to be carried while she moves by Felina and heals the injured cat.

Uses one of her Cure Light Wounds from her healer path to cure the Cat of 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14. Felina is back to 15/15 HP

Round 4 Summary

All the tentacles have taken at least 30 damage and everyone is freed. Solvi and Felina can still act.

Gillian, I see nightflier made Illiameyl's miss chance succeed in avoiding being grabbed by one of the tentacles.

Do you still want to carry out your healing action? Currently Illiameyl is at 1 HP.

As the legate seems to be burdened with Chops, Gilian moves back to the still figue of the Shadar woman, half crushed by a tentacule.

Let's hope Duncan can free the other three next round.

Calling back Pebble to her, she reaches the shadar and tries to see past his blur effect to lay a hand on her and belay her death.

Miss roll (1-20 is a miss) 1d100 ⇒ 23, cast CMW for 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (6, 6) + 5 = 17. Illyameyl is back to 5 HP

To everyone, we seem to be mixing the rounds numbers. The tentacles have acted on round 3 (at the beginning). So Sorok, Felina and Solvi's actions should be for round 3.

It seems the situation is dire and we need to coordinate a little to get out of this.

As of round 3, when the tentacles have acted, some of us are being crushed.

I'll summarize the situation:

Duncan free near the legate
Chops free near the legate
Crunk free at the back
Solvi taken at the back
Felina taken at the back
Illiameyl taken dying at the back
Sorok taken at the back
Gilian free at the front
Pebble free at the front.

And some of us haven't taken their actions for round 3.

Round 3

My suggestion would be:
Duncan and Chops should go for Solvi and Felina and try to free them.(the tentacles will be side by side)
Pebble will assist by giving a potion to Solvi

Gilian, avoiding the creatures due to her invisibility extend her arm to touch Duncan. Using the same talent she just used on Chops, she focuses her own energy through her bone amulet and closes her lover's wounds.

"I'm still right by your side, my love.", she whispers as she takes off her hand.

Duncan is healed of 30 HP, bone item heal from the bone power is now at 0

Opening her bag with a practiced hand, she extracts a potion and hands them oven to Pebble

Standard action, heal Duncan, move action give a CSW potion to Pebble.

Nightflier, on which initiative turn does it happen on round 3? I just want to know if Gilian could have acted before the tentacles to heal Duncan.
Second question, do the tentacles also attack invisible creatures?

Round two

Spellcraft check to identify the legate spell: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

Gilian uses her invisibility to move around the battlefield undetected and reaches behind Chops to heal the bleeding dworg with her bone amulet power. +28 HP for Chops

Nightflier, one of the orcs fighting Chops was injured on round 1. It it still alive after round two and Chops second attack?

Using Pebble as spell deliverer, and still under invisibility, Gilian casts Protection from arrows on Solvi granting her DR10/magic vs missile weapons.

Gilian moves after casting the spell so as not to give her position by the spell vocal component.

Regarding the cloud, would Kn Spirits 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17, or Herbalism (used for potions) 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (16) + 21 = 37 be of any help? Gilian suspects it is a raise dead spell of some sort.

Crunk, to grab the sword, You'll need a reflex save DC16. It's still greased. :(

"Duncan, I'll stay out of sight but Pebble can always locate me.", she says as she casts another spell, one you've never seen her use and she disappears from sight.

Casting invisibility, and moving so as to keep being protected by Duncan and Sorok.

Duncan, on your profile you have DR 4 +1/Magic so you should have taken 8 or 10 HP less i.e. 24-8 (or 10)=16 (or 14). With Gilian heal, you're back to full health.

For Sorok as he also has DR 4, damage will be 23-8=15.

Gilian winces seing the dark knight dealing grievous wounds to Duncan and Sorok.

With Pebble right next to her, she reaches down to summon her internal healing energy and sends the small elemental to heal Duncan.

Casts CMW from healer path

Signaling Pebble to drag the dying shadar back, Gilian open her bag and takes out a few bandages and a needle and starts to seal the worst injuries.

Heal check DC 15. 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30, Illiameyl is back to 1 HP.

Gilian stands back from the fray, Pebble at her side. Sighting the legate blade, she remember one ritual long ago and casts grease on the blade.

For the next 5 minutes, the legate must make a DC 16 Reflex save every round to keep his blade in hand.

"And this is Pebble," adds Gilian with a hand on the dog shaped elemental. "The two over here are Ilona and Muni."

Erunthalion just stands for a moment, and then slowly approaches your table, all the while looking at Morgral and goblin. "Who are those two?", he asks. "The others with you, they are Summerlanders - but those two are of Shadowlands..." He sits at the first available seat and looks at the gathered Bonebearers, starting with Ilona and the raven on her shoulder, and finally stopping his eyes on Gilian. "And who may you be, little one? You smell of... earth and green things. Are you sure you are not fay?"

"Good question. I'm Gilian, an Erenlander and as far as I know, there's no fay blood in my line. My family has always been linked with elementals and I remember my nan used to talk to a sprite - an air elemental, I think. We were also know for our healing hands and I have inherited that as well."

She pauses, wondering why she just said all that to a stranger. "But enough speaking about me. We were sent here to get you back home. Have you finished your business here and do you feel you can start now?"

When Erunthalion tries to push Gilian away, she does not resist but tries to calm him so she can work.
"As I said, I'm just a healer and I came with your sister to find you. Please, let me try something to help you feel better."

If Erunthalion seems willing, Gilian will cast lesser restoration from her heroic path to cure 1d4 ⇒ 4 ability damage if needed and to move Erunthalion from exhausted to fatigued.

Whoever he is, Gilian is already moving towards the stranger. With non threatening gestures, she comes to him and talks quetly in trader's tongue then in halfling. "I wish you no harm, I'm a healer, let me have a look at you."

Heal check 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21

I'm ready to start on monday. I'll add the two missing traits tonight and edit Pebble's skills.

Profession (Herbalist) replaces Survival only for the purposes of collecting plants. For the purposes of creating herbal concoctions, poisons and stuff like that, it replaces appropriate feats or Craft skills. You can still use Survival to gather plants if your Survival skill is higher than Herbalist, of course.

Thanks, I've updated the skills now. One last question with the traits. When you said I needed 3 traits, is it 2 traits + the free small free small trait or 3 plus the free small trait?

Gilian, you should have 3 Traits from my Rules document and 2 Erenlander traits. Small is now not considered a Trait, since in Pathfinder you can take it for free as human.

Also, Herbalism is now a skill.

Working on the skills right now. I'm not clear on the profession herbalism. Does it replaces completely Survival or only for herb gathering/potion making?

In midnight, there is also the herbalist feat that allows to make herbal concoctions. Is it still necessary or is the skill Profession Herbalist enough?

Skills entry added after Feats. Please review Skills. There are no more Secondary skills. All skills are standard Pathfinder, except Bluff and Intimidate, which are rolled into Persuasion, and Profession (Herbalism. Also, new Midnight-specific skills added, as well as Knowledge(Warfare).

I've downloaded you new document but I don't see any skill entries. are you sure you've put the correct link in?

Maybe your issue with the goblins is a cache problem. I had the same issue at those times. I solved it by deleting my cache and cookies.

By the way, did you get my e-mail with the files attached. I was worried it was to big to go through?

It seems that I've lost some of my files and notes concerning Midnight Campaign, so I'll need to recreate them. This mainly concerns the Skills and Fate Points. While I'm doing this, I have a question for you all:

Would you prefer Climb and Jump to be rolled into one skill (Athletics), or remain separate skills?

I think I've still got your files on the skills. Do you want me to sent them to you?

There may be some remains of the previous rules in the document. If you find anything that confuses you, just ask.

Skill changes: Bluff and Intimidate are combined into Persuasion and there is new skill Knowledge (Warcraft). I will expand on them later.

Guys, I am finally going on a honeymoon. High Duke has been pestering me incessantly to return to Midnight - and not only him - so I've decided to get back to the game starting October.

In the meantime, I've realized that RL obligations are keeping me from finishing the Feats document, so I'll combine only few (relatively speaking) homebrew feats in one file, and for the rest - we will go back to standard PF feats and skills.

It's either this, or no Midnight at all - so the final decision is yours. The changes to races and classes stay the same. I might tweak them a bit, now that Advanced Races are published, but the core will remain true to the files I've posted before.

You may expect all the info going live on October the 1st, including Speaker for the Dead heroic path for Ragnar.

I will be available for questions for the next 2 days.

second dotting test

Okay, I am going to do Channeler now. My goal is to combine most if not all arcane classes into one highly modular. I will keep existing traditions and two more, possibly three: Alchemist, Summoner and Witch. Those classes will be simulated by talents. The Witch will be the easiest one to do, and all the girls in the party will probably take a number of Witch talents. The Summoner will probably be the hardest to adapt and the Alchemist is somewhere in the middle. Please have patience and feel free to comment.

Also, I would like to hear your thoughts about the finished classes.

I'm waiting for that as well. I need to try to keep looking for that thread. for some reason, I does no show in my focus threads anymore. I'll try dotting again with my main profile.
