![]() Some edits re Snowball 'cos got ninja'd by GM. Original intention was just for Snowball to spectate, but forgot about push. And didn't realise you could have a trick to do nonlethal. That's not in core, is it? Garn picks up a wooden scimitar that feels quite exquisitely well-balanced. Just then, Snowball reaches the top, who starts snarling when he recognises the start of combat. Garn quickly holds up his hand, gesturing for his companion to stand down for now, worried . (Hmm, I wonder if he cast shillelagh on their training weapon, whether that would still do nonlethal damage. Let's not test that though. :) Anyway, to confirm we can spend as much time as we want to buff up? If so...) Garn first lays some enchantment on Snowball. He then activates a wand on himself, increasing his speed. He then draws upon the power of the earth to harden his skin before he wades into battle.
He rushes towards the monk, bringing up flank with the half-orc. While holding up his shield in case of counter-attack, he brings his scimitar down upon the monk. mw scimitar, power attack, flank: 1d20 + 7 - 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 7 - 1 + 1 + 2 = 24 dmg: 1d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7 This round he is moving and attack, so no action left to attempt to push Snowball. Garn allows himself to be blindfolded, uncertain about the whole series of tests, but too apprehensive for now to simply withdraw. His previous life as a trapper with his tribe had trained him well for this - in trailing and bringing down a prey requires more than eyesight alone. And similarly, this time when he is the prey, through the echoing sounds of Aeotsep's footsteps, the faint scent of sandalwood incense still lingering on his skin, the faint breeze as he moves, announces to Garn where he is. And when strikes. Garn brings up his staff, with just enough strength to parry the blow. --- Hoping that this is the final test, Garn follows Sajan up the poles, climbing up it rather than hopping onto it as gracefully as his teammate had. What he lacks for agility, he makes up with plain doggedness. He titters briefly in the first 20 minutes, but the effort barely tired him up. The next 20 mins find him of surer footing, but the long duration of holding himself in the same position almost causes his muscles to cramp. He grunts and forces his body to hold up, viewing this as a personal challenge by now, caring little for the monk. But having little to do with books, he simply skims through some of the spine titles before getting bored again. With little else in the room, he then wanders over to the book and glances at the open page. ![]() In the corner stands a rather gruff looking Kellid human. He is wearing breastplate that is made from the hide that is rather unusual looking. Those more familiar, however, recognises it as dragonhide. Other than that, he carries rather simple looking gear: a scimitar and club hangs from his belt, and a darkwood shield is slung over his back. The only other thing of note is a simple necklace made of leather thong from which hangs a bundle of feathers. At his feet lies a snow leopard. He is looking rather bored, swishing his tail back and forth. From time to time, he looks up at Garn but seeing nothing much happening, lays his head back to the floor again. Osiron deserts? Having spent the bulk of his life in the freezing north, this visit would be an interesting one. He frowns somewhat at the mission objective - to play diplomats with the monks. He is not a talkative one, and would have to leave that to the others. But the Great Dreamer has opened up this opportunity to see new lands, and that's not something to let pass. For now though, he stays silent and listens. ![]()

Other than that, he carries rather simple looking gear: a scimitar and club hands from his belt, and a darkwood shield is slung over his back. The only other thing of note is a simple necklace made of leather thong from which hangs a bundle of feathers. Seeing no one else speaking up, Garn's voice rumbles out. "My name is Garn. I have recently learnt the art of taking the form of beast." He ends here abruptly, looking at each of you in turn. Rubbing the head of a snow leopard at his feet, he suddenly speaks again.
