![]() I'm going to play a crafter/merchant. When bandits start cutting too far into my profits, I'll start hiring mercenaries to protect me while I transport high value cargo. If you're strong enough and capable of holding onto it, you're merchandise value goes up as other players who let themselves get robbed lose their product. ![]()
![]() I think ego and a refusal to adapt to situations and player's needs will be the biggest hurdle for a lot of guilds. Leaders from themepark games are going to have a lot to overcome to become a successful leader in a game like PFO Watching videos of "elite" guilds in WoW shocked me. It seemed like the person who could yell the loudest and berate the most players was the guild leader. I guess that's acceptable in a game where every role and action are set in concrete and never change. You're stuck with a leader like that because "ermagherd my helm might drop so it's worth it." ![]()
![]() I thought the Rune Books in Ultima Online were very well thought out. You had to have a mage mark a rune that was dropped on the ground. That rune became marked only to that spot. The marked runes could be dropped into a book for easy access allowing a person with adequate skill to Recall themselves to that location or anywhere else they had a marked rune. Mages with a high enough skill could open a gate to a marked location allowing unlimited people to transport to a new location. Mages with the ability to gate were pretty rare and could make a lot of gold transporting people around because it was a RARE ability. I would love to see some form of gate travel used in PFO, but it would need to be extremely controlled. Gates taking 30 seconds to open with the destination gate being visible the entire 30 seconds allowing players on the other side to prepare if needed. Gates would only allow one or two unencumbered players through with a huge cooldown of 10-30 minutes. ![]()

![]() There has been a lot of hatred and discourse amongst us in the Paizo forum. We are a tight community bound by time and numbers constricted to a mini forum world that will eventually become Pathfinder Online. Every person who is reading this is anxious that their hopes for the game will not come to fruition. We are miniscule compared to what is coming to PFO. Alliances should be made now before OE because the mega guilds are coming. Burying a hatchet is a sign that all perceived wrongs of the past are forgiven. I, as a player, vow that I will never use anything said on the Paizo boards against a player in game. /signed Feydred of Aeternum No guild signatures needed. Just sign if you can make the past the past. |
