@Ravenlute

Come now, it's useful information that can be conveyed via a pretty graphic instead of combing through a bunch of text.

I'll arbitrarily bring up one use (I do not claim any of this to actually represent anyone's immediate plans), if NC has NAPs with each other and you can see that they are all congregated in one area, if any of them decide to try to expand and conquer where are they gonna go? Well if they honor the NAP the only nearby soft targets are clearly outlined via the pretty picture: Thod, vVv, Four Rivers, Eastern Sun, Between Lines, Librarians, Agents of Erastil are all 'strategically available targets'.

That doesn't mean the pact will help them or act as an alliance, but it does steer where they can go while still adhering to the pact. Not to mention who you wouldn't be able to go to help for because of the pact. Knowledge of pacts is just as important as knowledge of alliances, they serve different purposes and function completely different, but they affect things none the less. Why do you think I attached myself to a settlement where we can hide in a corner?

(Not that settlement PVP is gonna be available for awhile after EE starts anyways)

Maybe it would be a good idea for the usual suspects - on all sides - to just shut up already.

SirZac, thanks again for the map. It's an interesting and useful additional tool.

This topic is so hot, even the colors can start fires. Funny enough, it's the RBA that's more annoyed by them, even though they get the jedi colors. ;P

I'm just glad that they weren't blue and gray or blue and butternut. :-)

I'm just glad they weren't two slightly different shades of g!!#$~n green. Goblinworks could learn something from this guy. :P

This would be one of the reasons I said to NOT use my post to start a war, but there have been some good questions asked and I am asking anyone wishing to pursue this line of thinking/questioning concerning RA in any aspect, please take any further comments and questions there. I, myself, might make my way and catch up on what is going on since I have been informed I have incorrect ideas of the RA and what they are. Especially since I am 488 posts behind on the original thread and just realized there is a "updated RA" thread now too. lol

Nice map, do the different colored auras around some of the settlement symbols mean anything in particular?

So, how about that international sports team game last night? Do you think they have a chance against rival international sports team?

For those watching from far away, those are American Civil War references.

Purple auras changed hexes in the last landrush update

My real concern for this thread was just that it would spread disinformation to those that don't read every single post on the forum. We've made it clear that our goals are in-line with a positive play experience for new players and having them be blindsided when we tell them "No, sorry we don't actually have any alliances with those people. Talonguard is on its own." is counter productive. We believe in what we're doing and have every intention of growing and otherwise taking measures to ensure our own security and that we can stand on our own.

I don't believe that the RA has provided Talonguard with any votes, so I strongly disagree with it being a recruiting alliance. We SIMPLY see it as people have already mentioned, a means to further promote positive play experience regardless of the form of content. People can argue about what it is in the various RA threads but we'll make it very clear to everyone what we think it isn't. I wouldn't be surprised if every applicant we've received for Talonguard since joining the accord with Magistry, not Talonguard, don't even know what the Accord is. Not a one of them has mentioned it in any way shape or form. Toombs is right that I've probably advocated membership in Ozem's Vigil or Thod's friends more than any RA member as well.

As "hot" as people think this thread might be, I don't really see any need for direct attacks on each other to express this concern but I do think it's an important concern. People who read the forums to "completion" really are a small percentage of the players that stop in and glance at first posts and pretty maps.

You and others should probably ask such questions in the Roseblood Accord thread.

My intent was to address other posts in this very thread, where those posters are concerned about SirZac's terminology. I feel like his map is informational yet those feelings could be addressed right here where it came up (this time).

Of course, I do not mean to derail. I will not repost the questions, because (as a member of that outside and "independent feeling public") I kind of feel they are rhetorical. I certainly do not feel that every member of The Accord feels or thinks of themselves in the same way.

What really matters is that there is a nice new map that looks at things in a new light, so thank you for that SirZac.

My apologies Zac. :)

I would like to point out, on the vote count page, that Aeternum is listed as having their votes go towards the RA instead of NC, which isn't accurate.

Oops, sorry. I'd seen Tinalles's first publication of his map yesterday, so I sort of blipped past SirZac's actual post in order to post my concern about his title.

Thanks for pointing it out, Kard, and I apologise for not reading you more closely, SirZac.

Good Map, I really like it, you missed Hammerfist Clan though.

Also, Aeternium has signed into the NC.

Also, were not factions, bad term usage.

I am at pretty much every meeting, even meetings I shouldn't be at, and Kabal never told us their choices, as we asked. They were "playing it close to the vest," but didn't think their choice would negatively effect anyone in the RA. Tavernhold AND The Iron Gauntlet were displaced, but no one has mentioned that.

Also, I would like to mention that RA isn't really an alliance or a Faction. We would gladly admit most if not all the groups currently on the Map.

Might have something to do with this:

I don't think anyone understood why Bludddwolf would suggest that.

When I made my comment it was based on seeing that Aeternum was listed under the Accord votes, and not under the NC votes. But the question remains, can a company or settlement be in both?

Call it out with some specificity then rather than slinging mud in this vague, inflammatory way. If there's something you want to talk about, state it.

We were aware of it. And we do feel bad. I have a feeling I know where we're going and I'll still kinda feel bad. If we do decide to go to that spot, I'm going to extend an olive on a toothpick to the guys we're going to bump out and see if they want to merge with us and stay in that location or if they want to take their chances and play pinball.

If we decide we stay here, we'll probably talk with Iron Gauntlet about teaming up.

But it's so nice and cozy over here on Mud Sling Island! I can see why you guys stayed here so long. Do you know where I can find a nice massage? I've noticed people saying my shoulders seem a bit out of wack, and you know what they say.

Perception is everything.

Maybe we should go back to talking about how scary the big bad goons are! Or perhaps how we are all fighting for the soul of he community? That was always fun.

Morbis, given that you are high priest of Norgorber, you being seen disappoints us all greatly. You must repent at once sir!

I'd agree that Perception is a very, very important skill in these discussions. Sense Motive, on the other hand, should not be. You've been posting a lot of rhetoric and passive-aggressive jabs here, Morbis, and not much with substance for people to Perceive.

I'm starting to see why Pax brings down Cones of Silence sometimes. Taking time to think over the potential impact of each individual message is a very good exercise in sensibility.

Oh, and maybe this is the loophole around "We aren't supposed to start the debate up again". It's a dumb one. Don't use it. It really is the worst of both worlds.

I'm with Caldeathe on this one. Just because you can't spell doesn't make it a separate language.

In other european news, how about we just rename the "doubly red" Roseblood to "Red Pact" and use a hammer and sickle to symbolize our extension from mountains to croplands (and maybe toss in a star to make TSV astrologers happy)? That should clear up any colour issue.

Goblin Squad Member

It´s funny to see how politics can devolve humans so much. Aligning with one or the other side will bring conflict as usual.

When offered 2 targets, always aim for the third. The third in this case being indepentadant parties not swayed either way, to bad there isnt any neutral independant group though.

Said the guys who got the "Imperial Measurement System" going. We kicked you Europeans out of our country twice, we can do it again!

As long as France is on our side, I mean.

I know this is a popular American meme, but it is as blatantly unfair as it is patently untrue. There's probably not an army on the planet that has done as well as the French over the years, your own included. This said by an Brit on the 199th anniversary of Waterloo, one of our proudest moments because we (with a lot of help from Dutch, Belgian and German troops) finally managed to defeat Napoleon. You may have heard of him.

Cheap shot racism is cheap shot racism, no matter who it is directed at, or how funny it's supposed to be. If someone had said the same about US forces there'd be 101 angry posts about it by now (and quite right too). Please don't.

Really? Someone said Americans couldn't spell, and the most you got was my incredibly thoughtful critique about how much u's suck.

Brits, Frenchfolk, Canadians, Americans, Russians, Sometimes Germans—the list of people we're allowed to be "racist" against is shrinking. We must cling to our Surrendermonkeys and our Cheeseburger-Gulping Americans and our Polite Canadians* like the precious natural resources they are.

*G%!~!~n Canadians, always half-assing the "racism" game.
