For new players, I like it.

3/5

Joe gamer buys this, chooses one of the two types of character sheets (the landscape one if he's smart, to save precious table space), fills it out along with nice color cardstock power cards. He's all set for his first character, plus he has a nice folder to keep DM handouts and whatnot. He can make copies of the duplicates. (Or two poor gamers can split this, or four really, though you'll run out of power cards at high levels).
This has nothing a decent printer and the work of many many fans on the internet can't reproduce. But that's pretty much true for all character sheets.

Good but where's the Gnoll love?

4/5

Generally excellent but I'm knocking one star for the gnoll article. Gnolls, they're like Hyenas. Yeah, got it. As my favorite classic monster I had hoped for more.

About as advertised.

4/5

The cartography is excellent.
The paper is thin.
The 'poster-sized' maps are a bit small.
A folder with pockets would have been nice.

Overall a good game aid for running Rise of the Runelords.

Excellent, but more Dungeon than Dragon

4/5

The bestiary is excellent, but that's about all of the dragon type content. The rest is the adventure and two campaign specific articles. Production values are great.
This is an excellent rpg product, but it remains to be seen if it will work as a flip through on the couch every month type product.
