Let me first introduce myself as the organizer of the Extra Life 3 convention. I regret to say, I haven't read most of the thread, but would like to offer a little bit of context, via what I posted today re Extra Life, below. Please know that I won't be returning to the boards, since I really do not want to spark more arguments, I just want to wash my hands of the situation and focus on the charity, so if I don't reply to you, this is why.
I hate rules. I understand the need for them in some situations, but in general, I feel like the vast majority of them are stifling and unnecessary. Which explains my Chaotic Good, Libertarian bent. So when a big bureaucracy does things that block us from being able to do good, in this case, raise money for the Duke Children's Hospital, it sets me off way more than anything else. Perhaps I overreacted yesterday, but from what I've heard, the person in question is well overdue for being called out. Either way, I'm calmer now, and would like to focus on the positives.
I've discussed with Rosh, and through adversity, we'd like to effect positive change, namely, we're putting together some new games we're going to run with RTR instead of worrying about the Pathfinder Society situation. I'm focusing on a Rat Queens game, so whoever plays Braga, you're in luck. :P
I've also heard back from Michael, who will be in charge of PFS. I apologize for any strife I've caused, and thank you for coming back in to help.
Finally, to everyone who has helped with Extra Life now, and in the past, long time supporters, to those who have just joined us this year, Thank you. We can't achieve our ultimate goal without you. I look forward to working with all of you in the coming years.

Congrats, you won Pathfinder. With that accomplishment you don't ever have to play at my table again. Bye, Felicia. So you mean you didn't have him booted for playing a wizard just like that at all then. Having played with the wizard in question, the characters were the straw that broke the camel's back. Other offenses include, having screaming matches with his girlfriend, refusing to not engage in PvP, and constantly arguing with the GM.
What... uh... what if we don't want him back? I mean, things have been relatively... nice around here lately.

Oh my sweet summer child...
I think what's being forgotten is that the "boon" is a curse. It's on the chronicle to remind players of the affliction, since it is apparently a curse that doesn't have to be removed immediately. So reframing the question, does the eidolon need to clear the curse, or does it get off scot free because it happens to be on the chronicle as well?

I like to give my players things, and I'm not going to get bent out of shape over wordings of rules, so I give them a reroll per. The Golden Rule should be, "Have fun, and be excellent to each other."
Just to play devil's advocate against the silly, "You have 5 rerolls and therefore autosucceed," I had a Player fail SEVEN times rerolling vs. Phantasmal Killer. It is by no means a auto success.

I hope this isn't the new normal for 1-5s! My run seemed smooth and fun with room for roleplaying around both the early and late action. It went smoothly and they had fun, don't get me wrong. It just went by very quickly. They also weren't a very roleplay focused group, so they didn't do a whole lot of that.

My Hellknight Jendraza was recently in such a situation, though she's only level 10, jumped by 3 assassins while in the shower. She keeps her Greatsword by her at all times, however, so she and her other naked friends were able to fight them off Eastern Promises style.
Of course, she's a 42 year old Half-Orc with 300 lbs of muscle on her, so the 20 year old Sorceress came by after the fight to let me know that she hopes she dies before she gets to be my age. To which I responded, naked, pissed, and covered in blood, "This can be arraigned."
Hooray Dan! Congrats to you, and Excellent choice Michael.

My Ranger Eliza is a Pesh dealer. This has actually helped us through a few roleplaying encounters, because a doped up guard is a happy, complacent guard. I wouldn't take her to a table where I don't know the regular comfort level, but she's great fun at our local tables.
Best is The Traitor's Lodge. Great atmosphere, fights, and roleplay. I've run it 13 times.
Second Best is Horn of Aroden. People love to hate my Lander, and the roleplay is just so much fun. 9 times I've run this, I think.
Worst is Beacon Below. It's just so poor. If you have a good 8 hours to run it, it might be ok, but as is, it's an awfully disappointing follow up to Destiny of the Sands.

Yes. This. Been waiting for a while. Mr. Jackson, one day I will meet you at a convention or something, and you will receive the biggest hug ever.
Unless you don't accept hugs, in which case, I will mentally send warm, hug-like vibes. :P
Huzzah! Thanks Steve! It's been a funtastic year of running all the things!

It seems it's time to put it bluntly and ask you not to violate the more important rule of "Don't be a jerk." Please just have fun with the players and don't make them fall for arbitrary reasons. If you can't do that, please just don't run the scenario and find someone else who can do so in a way that is fun for all and allows them to play the characters they'd like. We're here to enjoy ourselves and not to nitpick every little rule in the name of adhering strictly to the rules.

Aurum Dentin wrote: The Trial by Machine game that consisted of 5 half-orcs and a pet human. Some of the best RP I had at the con. Jealous! That sounds amazing! Did you have a rousing game of human-toss?
I had an amazing time running 8 tables, including Horn of Aroden and Traitor's Lodge, along with some time at the Quests table! I found I had run for 50 different players over the course of the con, and an amazing time was had by me! I agree that when a few players told me I was their favorite, it made the sleep deprivation totally worth it.
Only got to play once, Paths We Choose, but I very much enjoyed playing my Hellknight Jendraza with her new favorite goblin, Durvin Gest, Pathfinder Hero! and giving him a piggy back ride since everyone else was riding evil horses!
I cannot wait for next year's go.

Pirate's Honor was the best Pathfinder Tale so far, so I am really looking forward to this!
Human 3
Half Elf 1
Tiefling 1
Dhampir 1
Ifrit 1
Half Orc 2
and after Gencon...

Want: Vishkanya or interesting offers
The Pathfinder Tale, City of the Fallen Sky, has a lot to do with Numeria, and it is a fantastic book to boot!
Good! I was wondering about that. It looked that something that'd be widespread, but I didn't see a thread about it.

So today I went to report my 50th table of credit, and noticed it said I only had 6 tables of credit. I checked my GM reported tables and noted I still had all of them but some of the APs and Mods were missing their +2. (Thornkeep levels still had them but they were missing from Shattered Star and Carrion Crown AP, plus Godsmouth Heresy.) I thought it might correct itself when I reported, but I checked again and it said 6 tables still. It reported fine, but don't know what's going on with that. Anyone else having this issue?

Barbarian

Captain Valdia Black, Half Elf Trade Princess of Qadira and consummate pirate Rogue strides into the Grand Lodge. She casually flings a Red Mantis helmet into Venture Captain Shevala Iorae's office, the head inside spraying a little blood onto her desk.
"Torch is alive, and still bug-ugly. He's also a big friend of the Shadow Lodge or somesuch, for what it's worth. He'll be by presently," she slurs drunkenly, as she has for the bast 18 years. Shocked, the Venture Captain hands the pirate a pouch of coins and thanks her for another mission completed. Hefting the pouch, Valdia laughs in her usual, strange way and turns to leave. "That'll be enough for me to retire, then. I've a couple babies and a blue man to take care of and all..." As she leaves, Shevala hears a loud thunk on the door, worried that the Captain's liver has finally failed, she rushes out to see what has happened. A mithral knife is wedged into her door, holding up a note detailing Captain Black's retirement notice. Valdia, however, is nowhere to be seen. It rambles and meanders, but a small note catches the Venture Captain's eye. "P.S. Should the Society ever be in Dire need of assistance, Drandle knows where to find me. Tell him to summon the Kraken."
22 years later, Venture Captain Dreng stands on the shores of Absolom, absentmindedly rubbing a magical coin, emblazoned with Besmara's holy symbol. In the distance, a huge with black sails warship returns home.

I'd like to see a flare up in tensions between Taldor and Qadira, but I've always found the faction interesting but, of course, that might be personal roleplay beyond the scenarios.
I am looking forward to The Merchant's Wake. I love scenarios in Qadira, and hope this is a good one.

I haven't played this one yet, though I ran it in January for a "slot 0" for Con of the North. Was an interesting scenario Sure it was...
Stoopid optional encounter Worst op. encounter, EVER. We had so much fun with it until that part.

Characters in the group? Nope, not that I remember. Not yet anyway :P
Now Characters NOT in the group... that's a different story. Poor Adon. All frozen up.

DnArturo wrote: How about this scenario - A singularly strong melee type undead is taking on the party and is engaged with the fighter. The fighter goes down. The summoner's lion idolon steps over the downed fighter to protect him and engage the undead. The undead continues to attack the downed player anyway despite being covered by a lion, siting the "attacks one person at a time" rule of engagement. Fighter dies.
Does the rule of engagement "attacks one person at a time" continue even after the PC goes down and another valid target is occupying the same square?
That's one of the main ways we protect our allies if we can't heal them in my area, so I would say no. As long as there's a valid target adjacent, I tend to go after that first. Now if no one comes to that PC's rescue (and I always warn them that they need to STAT,) then the mindless undead is probably going to start feeding.
I had the same problem with my Barbarian from the same place. I picked Cheliax because we were still doing faction missions and they had fun ones. Thematically, and without knowing much backstory, Grand Lodge probably works best since it's pretty much the Pathfinder faction.
