Tybalt has been keeping up with his warlock caloric intake needs for long enough not to have issues eating at this pace, so he's good, if sometimes getting a little ahead of himself in speaking before swallowing.

"I think I might know about something you'll like."

He bites his lower lip a bit as he looks over his notes.

Dave pats him on the back when he seems to have trouble with his food before answering his question, tapping on his fingers as he lists off cakes"Cheesecake or rumcake or ice cream cake. I like pretty much any kind but that generic slightly sweetened bread with iceing on it"

Dave grumbles half heartedly under his breath before swallowing. "Yeah yeah, I guess. Hard not to try to figure out anyway though" he does look pleased by the wing rub though

Dave totally has magic sight and is very unused to things being hidden from his senses..... he's totally pouting now.

Dave looks on amused and glances at the notes, wondering what else is planned

Dave strokes his chin "uh, maybe like a pavilion-y sort of thing? so kinda both?"

Dave nods and swallows a couple fish whole "if you're close enough yeah..... I can probably tell you're there even if you're farther away but I can only see through your invisibility outright if you're within a little over thirty, maybe thirty five meters"

Dave snickers at the purloined snacks and pokes the cat with his fork "I saw that." He teases before returning to his own food, his feet proped up in a chair, happily relaxed

Dave shrugs and returns to the food selection, choosing some potatos au gratin and a meatloaf for his first course as well as a few tins of sardines just because they're easy to grab.

The cat flips the coin through the air to Dave.

"Hey, not everyone is made of money."

Dave rolls his eyes "yes well I am, all you've shown is that walking is for poor people" he jokes as he walks into the cafeteria

Dave rolls his eyes "oh no we almost missed one whole copper whatever would we have done"

The cat blushes slightly at more or less being pet. He huffs and pads back at him, not quite able to get actually mad at him. "Daaave stahp." He tries to groom his hair back into place, but is unable to get it straight again.

"You're lucky you're taller than I can, reach, Shiny."
He takes one of Dave's wrists in both his paws, putting it over his shoulder as if he was going to drag him, and as if he had any chance of accomplishing that.
"C'mon I'm starving."

Dave laughs as he's "dragged" to the cafeteria, quipping "you know we could have both just teleported here"

Dave snickers, clearly amused by this and runs his fingers through the catboy's hair, probably messing it up "sure thing, lets get you some food"

Dave nods "right on. I'll head down to the lunch room and find us a good table"

"If you like"

Dave catches the ball of yarn and throws it back"That sounds really cool, if you need any spells for the enchanting process, I kinda have a lot of spells"

Dave grins "good. For a second I thought you were implying I'd

The cat gives an appropriately long hug before giving a soft squeeze and looking up at the Aasimar.

"I'd really like to up those odds a bit with some help and equipment first. But when the time comes, I'm sure someone here can help us find him." The cat pads over to his stock of fabrics on his work desk, flipping through some as he wonders what he's going to wear to the party tonight, taking mental stock of all the things he needed to get done.
"I'm sure someone here specializes in divination. At the very least I can make a Crystal ball."

"assuming he doesn't have some sort of anti-scrying, but yeah I would appreciate that. So, what's next on the agenda?"

Dave snickers in amusement at his best friend's antics "just thought I might offer advice.... I don't exactly have anyone to reunite with.... sorry if my advice isn't exactly helpful"

"like I said, don't worry about it..... maybe you could write letters or something?"

"Then don't worry about your old home, just have fun and learn all you can at your new one. Maybe we can look into finding some sort of government or leadership classes for next semester"

Dave puts his arm around Tybalt's shoulder and gestures in front of him "hey now, don't be talking down about yourself Like that, you are the sweetest and kindest cat I've ever met, and you got a good head on your shoulders. You'll be fine..... and even when things get tough, and they will, I'll be there with you every step of the way."

Dave ruffles his head "clearly you aren't good enough at delegating"

Dave laughs and walks alongside him, indeed dragging one of his wings along the wall "how about you collect shiny things and I'll conquer the planets, deal?" He jokes

Dave nods and thinks on this before chuckling "I heard a philosopher once who said the best way to describe them was that many otherwise similar races, when they looked at the infinite cosmos they are struck by their insignificance in the grand scheme of things and were humbled..... humans reach out their hands and shout "mine""

Dave blinks "humans are weird"

"Electric pumps move water from the base of the fountain back up to the top so it fills up the bowl and falls back down. The coins are just a social thing that seems to have developed in a lot of human culture. Or maybe it's just one of those things that repeats in a lot of places because whatever made the universe felt like it. Like common as a language, 12 month years on a planet, time systems based on equally long seconds-minutes-hours-days-weeks-months-years, and humans in general. Those guys are everywhere."

He picks up the clock carefully, having already tossed his coin.

"I meant the wishing custom... but thanks I guess"

"Nothing in particular. It's not a capital W wish, it's just a wish. It coming true isn't directly linked to doing this, it's more of an "I'm doing this because it might come true" sort of thing."

He thinks for a moment, closing his eyes and flipping the coin into the fountain.

It lands in the upper bowl of the fountain, resting on top of one of the Angel's drums.

Dave considers this and tosses a copper in "how does it work though?"

Dave shakes his head "who grants the wishes?"

I find it a bit of a stretch that pride is opposite to love, but I can see it

Dave nods and listens intently "what are the coins for?"

Tybalt looks down at the clock and rubs his thumb over the edge.

"These are the Ancestors of the islands on the planet I'm from. And they're in this order because we believe that when we live a good life we move on to the next step when we pass from that life, but if you don't you're​ either born again on the same island or even further back in the cycle. But when you've lived through every step, you're born a final time as one of these dragons in the City Under the Sea."

The two of them walk more or less amelessly down the picturesque little street as they talk.

Dave nods "city under the sea? You guys have some sort of aquatic dragons?"

Tybalt gives one last wave to his old Craftsman master as they depart the store.

"I think we've done everything I set out to do this morning. Anything else and we'll start ruining surprises." He smiles up at the Aasimar as he holds the clock safely with both hands.

The clock itself is fairly basic, but the face is where it becomes ornate. Instead of numbers, each of the twelve spaces is occupied by a small animal. 12 is a cat followed by bear, lizard, cow, dog, bird, snake, rodent, pig, Kangaroo, Ram, and Horse being 11. The hour hand is a small dragon holding a small piece of rainbow colored glass as the tip and the hour hand is a larger aquatic dragon with a small topaz set in the chest.

Dave examines the clock "so, why the animal symbols on the clock?"

While Dave is taking a moment to gather the coins, the clock smith takes something out from behind the counter. "As for you, Furball, I've got something I've wanted to give you for a while..."

When Dave returns, Tybalt is holding an understatedly ornate clock and looking deep in thought.

Lenny is smiling at him the sort of fatherly way he looked at him before. "-n't have the heart to sell it, and I figured you'd appreciate it more than any antique hoarding old woman." He looks back up to Dave as he reappears and accepts the coins, hanging the bag on a scale before giving a handful back to Dave. "Just over. There's your change." He smiles widely under his greyed mustache. "Well, it's been a pleasure working with you two. You're welcome back at my place any time you like if you need a quiet place to work." He shakes Dave's hand once again before air hugging the somewhat emotional Tybalt. "Good to see you, Furball."

"fancy clock. Should we drop it off at the ship or your room or are we done on this trip?"

"ok, that makes a lot more sense, a bit more than I have on hand, please give me a minute"
he disappears and then reappears with a moderately large bag of gold "this ought to cover it"

"holy hell that's a lot of money? what's the exchange rate between the Gold piece we use and what you guys do?"

Tybalt smiles and checks Dave's wrist out a bit. "It looks good on you. Happy birthday, Shiny." As Dave turns to talk to the shop keep, Tybalt starts to walk the circle, bending to gather the unexpended parts of the ceremony, crystals, the wand, etc, as well as Dave's robe that he picks up and pats to make sure there's no dust on it.

"It was a pleasure, Son. Happy to have been able to help you boys out." He smiles warmly and shakes Dave's hand. "And Happy Birthday! Always a good time. And with that in mind, I'll give you the watch at building cost." He smiles wryly and chuckles. "Still gotta run a business, of course."

David smiles as he puts on the bracer "thanks man, you are the best" he hugs the cat, somewhat awkwardly, given all the stuff in his furry friend's arms.

Dave puts on the watch, smiling and watching it resize. He presses a button and returns to his fleshy form with a sigh "thanks man" he then turns to the shop owner and bows "many thanks"

David's eyes glow blue from a divination spell, but even to his arcane sight many aspects of what we're happening were above what he was familiar with. He watches in mild awe at the power and finess displayed by his friend. When the ritual dies down he whistles a low note "is it done?"

"Of course of course. I take care of my gear." He gives a small smile and a thumbs up to Tybalt

"Red would be a nice contrast to the black.. hmm a red scaled pattern for an accent would be nice.... larger would be better, I have big arms and I get banged up a lot, heck something akin to a buckler Wouldn't be out of place" prior to the transfer the robe was a customized robe of arcane heritage, that has a custom illusion/transmutation effect to disguise his nature. And a few other minor enchantments to help control his power (+2 to concentrate and auto hypnosis)

I feel so bad leaving such short responses to such masterpieces
David blinks "um... what types of watches are there?"

"... If we could do this in a back room that'd be nice..."
If this is allowed David takes off the robe and his skin first becomes scaled, then his fingers elongate into claws and his eyes become slitted. Next his wings turn to gold and a Web of golden lines show up on his skin which are filled in with diamond.

David gestures to his own clothing "can you examine them while I'm still wearing them?"

David frowns and nods, flipping a coin "I'll take the serpent stone then"
