I'd like to thank everyone for their patience, I'm back home and rested. Along with a nice new keyboard. Replacing my old one that I had for six years.

You get so used to something you take it's faults as standard. I'm finding a key board where I can read the keys and use all of them as strange and new :).

Tessa is very pleased with your report. "Endymion is a bastard, a hard one at that. Good to know his hatred of the Chelaxians is real. It does mean taking a closer look at those who keep pointing the finger at him though."

She smirks wickedly. "It's always an enjoyable task, peeling a rumormonger to see what comes out when it's their neck on the block."

For you she suggests finding Harrigans old mate as quickly as possible, and then finding Harrigan and getting some answers out of him before you slit his throat.

It seems that you are rising in her esteem Marnir, her next suggestion for you involves some horizontal grappling in her bed chamber, without any troublesome clothing in the way.

Anyone doing any shopping while your ship is being upgraded?

ref save Quickling: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36

The Quickling ignores Richards attempt to entangle him, but Zelera, Colwyn & Issac combine to end his life on this plane.

The keep’s central tower is an elegant spire of ivory colored stone, draped with a riot of vines and other plants. The most complete structure in the entire fortress, its 5-foot-thick walls climb 70 feet to a multipointed stone roof.

The top level: This floor once contained the private residence of
the lord of the keep. Its wooden interior walls have long since rotted to dust, turning it into one wide chamber. Permanent, one-way illusory walls conceal the windows from the outside, though the glass in the windows and
skylight broke or fell away ages ago, allowing a variety of vegetation to take root here. The ceiling is 40 feet high.

Treasure: The Dancing Lady possesses a number of treasures salvaged from the ruins and stolen from her victims:
A life-sized alabaster statue of a nude, dancing elven woman (worth 900 gp, but weighing almost 500 pounds),
A masterwork harp,
A small, carved jade statuette of a coiling snake (worth 75 gp),
An ancient filigreed elven water clock (worth 1,000 gp, but weighing 200 pounds).

The Lady’s bed is covered with a snow-white bearskin coverlet (worth 50 gp).
A finely carved, wooden wardrobe beside the bed holds two royal outfits (worth 200 gp each), three courtier’s outfits (worth 30 gp each), and
several other tasteful, once-expensive articles of clothing (heavily stained with blood and now worthless).
A small wooden coffer atop a rosewood table contains 3 vials of
exotic perfume (worth 100 gp each),
A gem-studded tiara (worth 350 gp),
An elixir of love.

A nearby chest holds 431sp and 370gp in leather sacks.

It's good role playing, Colwyn has grown from his humble start as an outlaw to becoming a good leader for your land. It's been gradual and believable. Very enjoyable for a GM.

I've had something like that happen to a character of mine in a live game of Ironfang invasion we're playing ATM.

Started out as a footloose craftsman type and when things went bad he was helping out, but he always had in the back of his mind. 'If it gets too bad I can leave. There's nothing holding me here."

Then he fluked a couple of nat20's on Diplomacy rolls. Rallied a town behind the party and they succeeded at driving off an invading army.

All of a sudden people respect him! He was given a house in the town! I played that as his moment of change. He's now a devoted protector of the town and wants to be someone who is worthy of their respect.

It was all natural and he's one of my favorite characters.

A shame it's a campaign I'm not enjoying. Ironfang invasion is the worst AP I've played. Puts you on a railroad, and then bars the doors to stop any chance of you doing things your way.

Colwyn.

This is a reward for how well you are role playing your character. Your impressive diplomacy intrigued a Nixie, one who doesn't have much experience of humans, and what she did have was mostly negative until Colwyn the silver-tongued arrived.

Pierce Jerrell is easily found in a dockside tavern, a pretty girl on his lap. He greets you with great happiness. "Good to see you Captain." He grins. "Let me guess? Something big is coming and you'd like me and my ships with you to meet it?"

Pierce might enjoy playing the roguish womanizer, but he's smart and keeps his ears open. He knows rising Captains draw both problems and opportunities.

If you ask him about joining you to defeat an invasion force he signs up happily. "Lots of risk, lots of reward!" Is his attitude.

He also can get in touch with Larissa Hanch who now has three ships of her own and is well inclined towards you after you took out the Chelaxian warship that was looking to sink both Pierce and herself.

"And I'll put the word out discretely." He adds, "I know a few other captains with small fleets who would be willing to take a chance under someone who's proven himself a winner."

Captain Pegsworthy is on Firegrass isle. You'll need to travel there to enlist his aid.

That's not even the fights on the island. Looks like I'll have to check. From memory I believe the party got a big spend recently though?

Before you joined though, but it was 11000 or so to spend so it must have cleared a lot of the loot list.

Edit. Just checked and it was back Sep 28th 2018. So that makes updating the loot list and seeing how much cash you have to spend much easier.

Since you're heading to Port peril, the biggest shopping center in the Shackles.

There is a great deal of surprise, and a lot of head turning as the Lizard folk try to work out who is in charge now? Eventually a grizzled warrior steps forward.

Draconic:

"I am Haskar. Looks like I'm the new chief. We have no problems with you leaving. Things were tough enough even before that thing showed up claiming to be the spirit of an ancestor. Just tell your people to stay away from our lands."

Background information:
This small tribe of lizardfolk inhabits a muddy island in the middle of a particularly swampy stretch of the Murque River, about two miles west of Candlemere. Although sluggish in the winter when the lakes freeze over, the lizardfolk become quite active in the spring and summer, ferociously attacking anyone entering their territory, particularly members of the so-called “civilized” races.
But despite their reputation for violence during the warmer months, the lizardfolk are reasonably civilized. Although they do devour other intelligent creatures, this is a practical habit rather than a ritualistic custom or a craving due to a racial trait. “Meat is meat,” the lizardfolk say, and life in the swamp is too harsh to forego a perfectly good source of food because of some “civilized” taboo against the consumption of thinking creatures.

Since you defeated the chief his treasures are yours to take.

loot:

Leather armor +1
Trident +1 (Keen)
Potion of cure serious wounds
2 gold armbands worth 100 gp each
A coral crown embedded with lapis lazuli worth 500 gp
A malachite statuette of a serpentine dragon worth 200 gp
Various furs worth a total of 300 gp
575 gp.

Tig is in a bad mental condition because the Wisp has been placing him in terrifying situations to feed off his fear. The screams were starting to bother the Lizard folk, except for the chief who fully believed the Wisp was the spirit of an ancestor who would lead them to greatness.

DIndreann's smile remains unchanged. "Yes, secrets such as those are known to those of us who serve the Savored Sting. However secrets are something we guard carefully. Not to be given away like virtue in a moment of passion."

She studies your party for a long moment. "Still, secrets may be earned for the right price. In this case performing some much needed vengeance for the temple would let me gift you with this secret in reward."

Dindreann tells you that a ship owned by the temple, the Lady’s Sting, recently went missing. Divinations have revealed that the ship was attacked by a group of pirates who deliberately lure ships into danger so that they can salvage the cargoes of the resulting wrecked ships.

Piracy is a fact of life in the Shackles, of course, but the Lady’s Sting was carrying a relic sacred to the faith—a gold-plated wasp statue known as the Golden Vespal.

The temple seeks revenge on these wreckers who would dare attack one
the faith’s holy vessels, as well as the return of the Golden Vespal, but they have so far been unable to locate the wreckers that
attacked the Lady’s Sting.

If you can find the wreckers, enact the goddess’s revenge upon them, and recover the Golden Vespal, Dindreann will give you a lead on the spies they are seeking.

Knowledge local DC10:

Wreckers are a not uncommon hazard in the Shackles, and finding the specific crew that attacked the Lady’s Sting will be a difficult task. However, it’s possible that the Temple of the Hidden Name in Beachcomber might have some information that could lead to the wreckers.

What are you doing now? Anything to do with the temples other line is naturally easy to do. :)

EEL SKIN ARMOR
Aura moderate evocation ; CL 6th
Slot a rmor; Price 33,810gp; Weight 15lbs.
DESCRIPTION
This red +2 slick electricity resistance leather armor is crafted from the skin of the crimson hag fish, more commonly known as the Shackles slime eel.
The armor exudes a slippery slime that grants its wearer a +5 competence bonus on Escape Artist and Swim checks. In addition, as a standard action once per day, the wearer can form an aura of electricity around himself that persists for 5 rounds.
Creatures adjacent to the wearer when this power is activated and at the start of the wearer's turn take 2d6 points of electricity damage and are staggered for 1 round.
A successful DC14 Reflex save halves the damage and negates the staggering effect. The aura persists for 5 rounds.
CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Magic Arms and Armor, elemental aura (Pathfinder RPG Advanced Player's Guide 218), grease, resist energy; Cost 16,985 gp

Among his possessions is Sefina's shawl.

When Niobe & Callidora deposit the body on the docks the gathered Free captains look interested. "The Eel!" Tessa Fairwind mutters. "The slippery bastard finally bit off more than he could chew."

The Eel:

the Eel has a reputation for sabotage and murder throughout the shackles. Having developed relationships with hardened criminals in the region, supporting their activities by supplying alchemical substances, bottled toxins, and distilled drugs to those with enough coin to pay. More often, he exchanges these services for rare reagents or favors instead. Captain Fairwind can also tell you he served with Captain Barnaba Harrigan for many years before setting up in business for himself.

That ends Book 4. I'll post the wrap up soon.

Are you sure you want to do that?

Yeah, it's still a little unpolished in places. Quests are very unintuitive and you need to go to the journal to find out what the hell you're supposed to be doing sometimes.

Kingdom is Thornsward, which I could decide. Capital is Tuskvale which I couldn't. You have to take the Stag lords fort as your capital as well.

It was going a bit slow on the building front until I found out the trader in town sold BP, suddenly all that gold I had was put to good use.

They've split the map into areas. Up around Oleg's is the Outskirts, down around the Stag lords is the Shrike hills etc.

You start with just the one area and village, spend BP to claim another area and can put one new village there. When population rises you can raise your village to a town, then to a city.

First time through the building and administering so I"m making a lot of blunders as the ruler. :)

But I now have six regions claimed and am on the verge of being made King.

As I said, slow to start, but once you have your first settlement and are running around trying to balance quests with governing it gets much more gripping.

K. CYCLOPEAN DOCKS.
Huge stone pylons lead from the shore into the island's eastern bay here. The broken beams and timbers that once formed a giant dock lie smashed between them, half-submerged in the water. Three giant-sized canoes and a catamaran lie beached on the sand nearby.

The cyclopes used these docks to moor their largest whaling boats. Ishtoreth recently directed his best hunters to take the boats out to sea to search nearby islands for food, but they have yet to return. In the meantime, the jungle treants from the grove where the cyclopes harvested trees to construct and repair their ships (area M) have taken out their anger on the pier.

With nothing living here at the docks you continue your exploration.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

After a string of six wins, none for high stakes, Tsadok folds if the betting goes over 5pp. Neela spots the dealer arranging the deck to favor Tsadok. Not surprisingly Tsadok goes all in, betting his entire stake. Only to watch helplessly as Neela takes the cards he was anticipating for his victory.

He grudgingly congratulates the winner and tries to retrieve his own coins, stating that it was just a friendly game for show, not for real stakes.

What is your response?

Sorry, but the rules for this are a complete mess, not too bad playing live, but in PBP it would take weeks. I've put them in the discussion thread for you to admire.

"I'll say this, these things are good target practice!" Jathal says, happy she's not in there with them.
