Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe nods, "To the fallen."

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

I'm going to change mine as well.

To my -4, Fentar.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe sinks to his knees, groaning, as his skin wrinkles, muscles wither and hair recedes, with what remains being lank and white.
"Well," he wheezes, "maybe one of you fellas could help me back on my feet."

I have checked with VC high-command, incidentally, and you cannot apply any aging effects to a character besides the cosmetic. I thought it was a cool corner-case of this adventure but they veto-ed it.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe shrugs, "Destroy it then."

The big Shoanti steps back and looks at Rozimus, "I hope your soul finds its way back to your body. Pharasma, I guess, would be on your side."

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Is it necessary to destroy it? Don't we just need to leave now? We've found the other pathfinders (raised as undead who we put to rest) and figured out what is going on. We've killed everything in here, I think and have the 'real' pathfinder. Also, is Rozimus' soul in a magic jar somewhere? Did we find it? If so, can't we take it back and smash the magic jar (which ends the spell and put Rozimus back in his body. It would kill the wizard unless her body was close by.

"If we clear this place out, then a bunch of scribes can come in and copy alll of that library stuff, right? That seems like the Pathfinder thing to do."

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

know (arcana) aid another: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Crowe mutters away about crystals with Patrick and, amazingly, it seems to help.
Aiding with the second roll, naturally.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe frowns, "Ten thousand years, stuck in this place..." He looks around miserably, "His death was a release." Then the big man points back at the golem, "Hers too."

He stares at the blood on the spikes of his earthbreaker, "I've done worse things to less-deserving people. I reckon most of us have."

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Line of Effect is different because, for example, an invisible foe (or ally) can still get healing from channeled energy or be protected by Magic Circle Against Evil.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Yeah, I agree, I think your GM instincts were correct, you just quoted the wrong rule.

Hexes are targetted, so it makes sense that you need to know your foe's location.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe's rage ends. He leans against the wall, letting the storm clear in his mind.

Line of Effect: A line of effect is a straight, unblocked path that indicates what a spell can affect. A line of effect is canceled by a solid barrier. It’s like line of sight for ranged weapons, except that it’s not blocked by fog, darkness, and other factors that limit normal sight.

You must have a clear line of effect to any target that you cast a spell on or to any space in which you wish to create an effect. You must have a clear line of effect to the point of origin of any spell you cast.

My bold and italic. Line of effect does not necessitate being able to see the target.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe's lip curls in disdain, "Whoever did this to you, it will soon be at an end."

He raises his broken earthbreaker and swings for the golem.

I'm in, I'll bring Mylvwara my wizard/maagambyan arcanist.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe grins at Amara, "You want to come to Valeros' tavern?"

Crowe is a loud, merry drunk unless someone else spoils the mood, at which point he retreats into a sullen quiet and leaves shortly afterwards.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Come lightning, feel the thunder.

Crowe paces around the crystal, hands clenching and unclenching on his earthbreaker, and swings at the thing.
raging. Crowe's AC is now 23 (25 vs evil) and he has 95 hit points+15 extra from false life. He also had DR1/- and, while raging, has electricity resistance 10.

attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe hears the thunder mutter, Storm calls to storm in a voice of battle.

However, he manages to hold back and be a little canny.

Instead of charging in, he casts a spell.
mirror image: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Seeing everyone else getting prepped for conflict, Crowe casts protection from evil on himself.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Am I being dense or have we not heard of the Abysium Heart before?

We are here to decipher the ritual and reattune the Tapestry so that we can use it as a fast-travel device, right?

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

That should be a 28, now that Crowe has that headband of inspired wisdom.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe starts looking for the sword, "I remember having something similar, a long time ago and far from here."

perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Ooh, forgot to heal...

Crowe drinks a potion.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe grabs the wands, "Yes."

He casts both mage armour (you never know when incorporeal creatures will show up) and false life on himself.
false life: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

Then, just before they try the door, he uses the wand of shield as well.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

potion of cure serious wounds
a wand of false life (CL 10th, 8 charges)
a wand of mage armor (20 charges), a wand of shield (CL 5th, 6 charges)
a wand of spontaneous immolationUC (15 charges)
a cloak of resistance +2, a
headband of alluring charisma +2
and a ring of protection +1.
potion of cure moderate wounds
2 potions of cure serious wounds
+1 battleaxe
a headband of inspired wisdom +2
and a silver holy symbol of Abadar

Crowe could take the battleaxe as a back up weapon (mostly to have a one-handed weapon in cases of grappling or being swallowed whole), the cloak of resistance and either headband (he is a cha based caster but the boost to will saves is probably more valuable).

And, of course, we can share around the potions.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe leans on his earthbreaker and stares at the ruined body of the man.

Ending rage. Fatigued.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe spins about, the storm swirling within, and stares at the man.

He inhales deeply, "Graarh!"

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe grins, it is not a pleasant or friendly grin, more of a hungry, lupine grimace, and flies toward the dwarf.

charging, raging
attack, pa, ff, rage, charge: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 25
damage, elemental strike: 2d6 + 19 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 19 + (4) = 30
final d6 is electricity damage

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

I am not there. I need to move Crowe back where he was before I had to revise my action.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Correction, then...

Crowes draws a potion from his pack and drinks it.
potion of fly

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Crowe grunts and fist-bumps Rozimus, "Well met."

As the hellfire strikes, Crowe's mind swirls, the storm flahes within.

Ha, that's great: so many ways to ruin a computer and, secretly, it was cats every time!

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

I had almost no injuries playing rugby from the ages of 7 to 27.

Now that I am old and out of shape, I keep on picking up injuries playing cricket.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

Would someone add Crowe to the map?

My new laptop arrives on Tuesday.

I got my injury playing cricket and there is no way that I can keep playing with a bust finger. It would just get worse and worse.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

The cat knocked a glass of water onto a turned off but open laptop. Then it trod on the keyboard and turned on the laptop.

Nightmare!

Sorry for not posting much lately.

I am waiting for a new laptop and I broke a finger on Monday, so posting on the phone is difficult as well.

I will get back to proper frequency once the new laptop arrives.

You've got a +7 arcana. You can aid another without speaking Tien, it seems.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

With those overlapping posts (I am assuming that Kioshi began writing their post before Diazepane had posted) can we say that Kioshi made the original knowledge (arcana) roll (as Diazepane did not make that separate check and used his rolls for the spoilers) and then Kioshi's second rolls were all aid-another's for Diazepane?

That means we hit all of the DCs.

It also means that Diazepane, and anyone else, can roll an aid on Kioshi's initial check. DIazepane automatically succeeds, lifting Kioshi's result to a 35.

Crowe's aid another attempt for Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Suspicious, Crowe casts protection from evil on himself.

Male Human (Shoanti) Bloodrager 7 | HP 74| AC 20/13/19 | Fort+9 Ref+5 Will+6 | Initiative +1; Perception +10

At Diazepane's words, Crowe's head whirls about, "Uh oh what?"

Crowe watches the statues for a second, "I hope they're not more of those things that break weapons."

Then he eyeballs the smoke, "And that, what's that?"
