Well, I don't have the emotional attachment for this campaign that the original players could have, so... of course, a good Dragonlance game is always nice, but it's more up to them than me. Count on my Greatsword, though, if you guys choose to keep kicking ass.


I'm new here so I don't really have a say. I'll join if you guys keep the game alive and still need muscle.

I'm very happy and grateful that you let me step in. I've read the points Spaz made and agree with all of them, so if you agree with Chejop and think his Gear is ok, I'm ready to rumble :)


Well, here he is, Chejop The Dagger Thrower, Jereru's PC submitting for RotR.

I have completely removed Wp Finesse and Deadly Agility from the build for now, he will have to rely on the style feats to do damage. Maybe in the future he'll get levels in Swashbuckler or get a Weapon MAstery ability to mitigate that. Next level he'll get Ranged Trip and that will be fine. By level 7 he'll be able to make the daggers return, and meanwhile he'll use one of those belts.


Hey MrLurch, I think you have miscalculated your natural attacks, they can't be at +7 to hit. I like the blue dragon investigator idea.

This is a recycled alias from Jereru, used to create Chejop the Monk of Desna, an expert in throwing the deer horn knife.

Hello! I'm Jereru and this is my friend Chejop, a Half-Orc Monk/Fighter specialised in throwing his starknife. I know, not the most optimised of the builds, but still competitive damage wise imho and fun enough. He's got some nice skills avaliable and good saves to make enemy casters sweat. In the future, Ki-cheese will add some crack abilities to his repertoire.

Sorry for your loss (your gaming loss, you know what I mean). Hope you find the time in the future to enjoy your hobby a bit more freely.

Hello, I'm Jereru.

I've been working on this Monk(UC)/Paladin/Rogue(UC, Swashbuckler). Now I'm transcribing all the info to the alias's page.

I've got one question, which is unimportant as for now but just to try plan my future:

UCMonk allows you to take QingGong powers, and one of those powers is Power Attack as a feat (costing Ki).

Oh, thx, but being LG myself won't allow me to worship him anyway. Instead, I didn't mention any worshipping since I then thought Chejop was going to be rather agnostic.

Btw, I think Chejop is finished, other than spending the 40gp I have left on something useful.

Ok, I've made up a bit of backstory, let me know what you think and if there's something need changing.
I will add a bit about personality and looks, and maybe change or add some names to match better with the campaign world.
Now that I know who I am (le background), let's work on how good I am (le crunch) ;)


Yes, I got it... sorry, I seemed to be a bit hazy about it. Level 2 to all effects, just a "special multiclass".


Juntae Horde seems perfect then. Who do they worship? I was thinking about worshipping Reverie, but he's CG and I'm LG, so no. It wasn't my plan being too religious, anyway - the theme was being odd and having an odd Bond Soul.

About the Unchained, well, it seems the new Unchained is a bit more balanced, though I haven't tried yet. If you prefer, we can just use it as it is and add the "monk" property to any ranged weapon you feel like (so as to be used with flurries). The rest would be just using Unchained as normal, picking the proper choices to match and me just reflavouring things.

Oh, one more thing... I am assuming that we can only have 1 rank in skills, am I right?


Okay, Jereru here presenting Chejop the Half-Orc. I have more or less an idea of a background, but I was wondering:

1) What's with orcs? I've seen no entry for them in the webpage.

2) Reverie the Dreamer... how is this God? Alignement? Where is he/she revered?

3) I would like to originate from a rural, tribal community. Could you point me to one?

4) The Bond Soul thing happenned just now, or did we have some time to "know each other"? Are we actually aware of it?

About "le crunch":

a) So, Zen Archer... do I build the Archetype on an Unchained Monk (thus losing selections similar to the exchanged features) or do I use the classic monk?
Done with the Unchained it might look something similar to this:
-Perfect Strike replaces Stunning Fist
-Way of the Bow replaces Evasion
-Zen Archery replaces... idk, first Ki Power, for example? Or first Style Strike?
-Point Blank Master replaces Still Mind
-Ki Arrows replaces Purity of Body
-Trick Shot replaces the Ki power taken at 10th or 12th level
-And so on, it seems pretty straightforward.

Mmmm I think that's it for the moment. :)

Ok, as I was saying... shakes off his hands I was thinking about the fact of getting feats/talents or similar with the secondary class feature. I thought it was one way, but I now think it's not exactly like that.

What we've been doing is:
Spend a feature to get 2 feats/talents.

How it should be, imho, to be in par with all feature selections:
Spend a feature to get the class's feat/talent progression up to level X (probably 10, as you can also get the full Sneak Attack progression or Flurry of Blows Progression up to level 20 by spending 2 features, but anyway).

So, for example, let's say you get the progression up to level 5, and spend a feature to get Fighter Feats. You'd receive the progression up to level 5, that is: one feat when you reach level 1, another at level 2 and another at level 4. Beyond that, spending another feature would get you to level 10, that is, feats at 6th, 8th and 10th.
In the case of rogue talents, that would be talents at 2nd and 4th for the first feature and then more talents at 6th and 8th (and 10th if you don't want to pick up Advanced Talents with another feature).

Of course, as features are selected every 5 levels, you might end up picking feats/talents for levels you've already left behind, but you get to use them from now on (that is good, even if it tastes like cinnamon). This will also make easier to know when can you pick "must be level X" choices.

Does all this b~&@#+&* make sense?

About the progression up to level 5 (roughly 2-3 feats/talents per feature pick) versus progression to level 10 (4-5 feats/talents per pick) is up to you, I just thought if one can get full Sneak or Flurry with 2 picks, why not with these choices also, but I'm not sure if that would make it too powerful. I personally think the problem is not this being too powerful, but picks like "XXX gets the feat YYY for free" being around, which you'll never spend a feature on because you only get 4 features for cool things, not a free "everyone can get" feat. But hey.

I don't want to sound like I'm begging (though I am, a bit :P), but rather trying to figure out a way to standardize this picking of progressive features in a way (while begging). Sometimes I get a bit stuck with my "Excel Sheet" thinking (and so I beg :P).

While you think about it (or probably farm in RL) Imma go watch the Royal Rumble!!!! So you can do spoilers and that.

PD About SoP, I'm super cool with it, I hope none of you did misunderstand... I just would have wanted it to be brought in before, and I would have given a try at it. Seems interesting.


Yeah, well... maybe if this whole new magic system was mentioned like 5 pages ago, I would have tried a Cleric or something. For me, it has been brought up a little bit too late, so I'll stick to what I've got.
If any of you guys is planning on bringing any other new system to the game, try to do it now so I have time enough to have a look at it and build around it. Try not to wait 5 more pages :P

Working on some minor changes to give the PC a bit more uniqueness.

Just to be sure:

-In case I was to select the Inspiration class feature (from the Investigator class), my Inspiration would be equal to:
a)1/2 Level + Int mod, as per the rules
b)Any other rule based on the options taken at level 1, 5, 10, 15.

-In case I was to select the Investigator Talent class feature, I would get 2 talents each time (with the possibility of using Feats to get Extra Talents, as usual). Assuming I had no Inspiration Pool, and if I were to select a Talent that affects the expenditure of Inspiration Points, I would:
a)Automatically get an Inspiration Pool based on my higher Secondary Class Option spent on Talents, not being able to access its base usages (that is, to spend a point to add a dice to any skill check).
b)As a), but being able to access its base usages.
c)Not gaining an Inspiration Pool, thus making my selection unusable unless I used another selection or a Feat to get an Inspiration Pool.

I'm sorry if I sound a bit weird, but I didn't understand well how you managed the selection of features which require a Ki Pool, so I'm not really sure if I need to get both features and what will I get from them. Yeah, I'm terrible... :(

And yes, I'm thinking about picking Investigator instead of Rogue just to try something different.
