Faction Stuff:
Aurelia smiles warmly at the secretary and bids her adieu with gusto, pleased that she had so easily convinced the household of these supposed sordid goings-on. "Do make sure Versade knows that the Paracountess is most looking forward to their next meeting," she says as a parting gift. After, she retreats back to the alley and changes back into her usual attire, donating the now useless travelling clothes to the first beggar she sees on the way back. (They'd certainly have more use for it than she would.)

Though the situation didn't make much sense to her, it appears that the group wishes to subdue rather than slay this green-skinned nuisance, unfortunately. Aurelia sighs, rolls her eyes, and lifts her hands in the air as her hair crackles into flames and her eyes glow with smouldering embers. A few choice Infernal supplications later and a pointed gesture at the floor beneath the goblin results in a smear of slippery dark tar appearing beneath its feet!

Casting Grease on the floor beneath the goblin (hopefully avoiding PCs if possible), DC 16 Reflex or fall prone.

Faction Fun:

Aurelia sets out with a most curious shopping list...

First, the matter of the disguise. She purchases simple clothes that are quite below her status (traveller's outfit), including a baggy newsboy cap that she can pull down to hide most of her face if need be. Aurelia also pays a visit to a costuming shop where she purchases makeup and props for various simple disguises.

Costs: traveller's outfit (1 gp), disguise kit (50 gp)

She changes into the makeshift courier's outfit in an alleyway not far from Savasha Versade's mansion before heading on over to do the business.

Disguise: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 2 + 5 = 19 The +5 modifier for "minor details only".

Upon arrival, she confidently strides towards the front door and raps on it, letter in hand. "Hello?" she calls out, "I have a letter for Lady Versade!"

Bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Heyo, all! Forcing my way in here. My apologies once again for my tardiness.

GM, would you like for me to do my faction mission fun in a spoiler aside as we run the combat, or wait until after the chase is done? Or perhaps closer towards the end of the scenario.

Aurelia seems to have been quite distant since arriving in Varisia, apparently rather offended by pretty much everything (more so than usual) and not particularly pleased to have yet another annoying righteous voice along for the ride this time either. She disappears early in the morning and returns later appearing rather smug and pleased in herself (again, more so than usual), but she is slightly delayed in her arrival (fashionably late, you know). As a result, she turns up in the middle of a chaotic scene...

"What in the devil is going on here?" she demands with a frown, rushing after Valik into the house.

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

If that initiative roll puts me before the gobbo, then I will double move towards it.

Apologies to everyone in games I'm in.

I have exams at the moment, which is making me busier than normal, but I also had a mild family crisis (nothing serious thankfully!) that resulted in me needing to babysit my sister's kids while trying to juggle studying and exams and whatnot. Busy times.

I'll try my best to catch up tonight and tomorrow, but please do bot me in the instance that I am (almost certainly) holding things up.

After my exams are done next week things will be better. Sorry again!

I usually have a look at optimisation guides and then go off on my own schtick. It's good to know what's good, but it's also important to play what you like!

Alas(?), Summoner's just one of those classes that is fundamentally powerful no matter how you build it, lol. I'm trying to not be too obnoxious with the class - after all, I could be spamming summon monster every round if I wanted to, or making a quadruped pounce-claw/claw/bite machine... :P

Clerics are super-duper boring at low levels, imo.

At high levels, when you have more variety of spells and can do all sorts of fun things with your domains, they are awesome. But at low levels... you're doing next-to-no damage with normal attacks, you have only a couple of spells per day (and they're all boring like Bless) and your domain abilities are often just not useful at all.

At low levels, I'd find yourself a schtick that you can be happy with. My cleric, for example, is all set up for channelling energy and removing conditions like fatigue and so forth. My friend's cleric is really good at intimidating people, so he demoralises a lot in combat, and he also has ranks in a lot of Knowledge skills. Other clerics might go for the beatstick, tank, or diplomat, or pick some domains that can be used a lot.

Alternatively, try a different class. :) Oracle is fun if you want to stick with divine power. Druid, too, although I can't promise it'll be much fun at early levels either, haha. I really like Witch, particularly as a Pharasma worshipper--you get some healy stuff, and your hexes give you tonnes of power even without many spells per day. (I am biased because I love my witch who is a priestess of Pharasma.) There's even the new classes coming in the Advanced Class Guide, like Warpriest and Shaman, for more divine power.

Also! I'm okay with either 5 or 6. There's always a huge amount of players wanting to play PFS though, so perhaps picking up a spare for one scenario would make them happy! :P

With the threat neutralised, Aurelia moves over to her 'pet' devil, drawing a slender black wand covered in strange Infernal writings from her pack. Malgorrak's shoulders heave, and he seems to be almost hungrily leering over at the party... she lightly raps him over the snout with her wand before he gets any ideas. "Sit still while I fix you up," she mutters to the devil, collecting a droplet of blood from his injury on the tip of the wand and forcing a shot of the magic into him through it. Mal's hide begins to knit itself together, bruises and cuts healing in a manner quite unlike that which would normally be seen from Ophelia's magic. It's almost as if you are seeing the process of natural healing sped up about a thousand times as fast...

While the devil is healing, Aurelia has a rifle through the fetchling's belongings. She takes a quick look at the onyx ring and then immediately pockets it with a nod to herself. Most of the rest of the equipment she stares blankly at before passing it over to someone else to deal with.

Having given up on landing any spells at this point, and trusting in her bloodthirsty devilish servant's abilities, Aurelia decides to move up and see if she can help Mel with the girls. (She'll also whack him if he decides to try and cop a feel!)

I moved Halkale on the map!

After Halkale fills the fetchling with a pair of arrows, Aurelia moves in to the opposite side of the doorway and stares with indifference and apathy at this 'Uthil Mak'. She sniffs, "Goons? How rude! I'll have none of that!" She nods to Malgorrak, who grins hungrily, and then flings a pathetically inaccurate orb of acid the way of the fetchling.

Acid Splash: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 8 I am really having no luck with these acid splash rolls this module!

Still carrying Mel's sunrod, Aurelia makes her way inside the strange dragon exhibit, almost sad that she could not appreciate it for what it was right at this moment. She flashes the torch in the direction of the two shadowy beings, hoping to make sure they could not hide in shadows.

"They're fetchlings," Aurelia informs the group as she yet again sends an orb of acid flying harmlessly overhead. "Humans infused with shadowstuff... strange creatures indeed. The shadow makes them resist cold and electricity, and they can blend in with darkness."

Malgorrak, meanwhile, enters the room and circles around an exhibit table to place himself behind the fetchlings... he's grinning rather wide...

As she'd expected, the crossover from the Shadow Plane wound up being dangerous! Aurelia moves up beside Mel, a droplet of acid dancing on her fingertip, but she's too distracted by... ahem, the magus fiddling with his rod. "Shall I take that for you?" She whispers, uselessly tossing the orb of acid into the wall.

What Knowledge skill is it to identify the shadow-dino? In case:

Aurelia peruses her letter with the slightest hint of a bemused smile tickling the corners of her lips. She neatly folds the letter back up and slips it into her belongings without a word. She bids Hamaria Blakros adieu with a brisk courtsey and nods to Dreng before following her companions across the shadowy night city of Absalom.

Upon arriving, Aurelia conducts her summoning ritual just inside the towering gates of the Blakros Museum. The brilliance of burnished hellfire is in stark contrast to the umbra-wreathed form of the museum, although Malgorrak's charred body matches perhaps a little too well in some regards. Drawing out a wand of crimson and gilded silver, she encircles her devilish companion with a breastplate of polished black steel that quickly fades into his body.

The dark and transparent things are from the other plane..." Her fiery eyes drift on over to the dinosaur skeleton, "Like that, I suppose. Be careful."

GM, I am going to purchase a wand of infernal healing with 2PP before we head out on this scenario. Aurelia went and paid a visit to Zarta sometime, it seems...

Aurelia sits in Dreng's office, one leg crossed over the other, smiling pleasantly at Hamaria Blakros as they are briefed on the mission. She's on her best behaviour, of course--as would any noble girl with half a brain, for everyone knew the Blakroses and just how important they were in the food chain of Absalom's upper eschelons. ...Not even just Absalom, really; Aurelia would go so far as to say the family was one of the most important in the entire world. She would do anything to get the Ciucci name well-known and favoured by the Blakroses, as it were... and if that also helped her goals within the Pathfinder Society, then all the better!

"Lady Hamaria, I swear that I will do my utmost to return your daughters from the clutches of this... Onyx Alliance," Aurelia informs the matriarch with a pleasant smile--only to be interrupted by Moadis idiotically shaming the Blakros line. She shoots him a withering, venomous glare before adding, "Difficult times call for difficult choices! Sometimes, one must do something not entirely... clean to achieve one's goals. I certainly can't fault the Blakroses for anything."

"M'Lady, do excuse the old man's grumpiness. He clearly got out on the wrong side of bed, is all..."

They had a new member, too, it seems. Aurelia allows her burnished gaze to wash slowly over Halkale, not hiding signs of her obvious appraisal. Ah... how cute, she smiles to herself, toying with a lock of her hair as the young man blushes over his introduction. "A pleasure, certainly, Halkale. It shall be good to get to know you... quite closely, yes."

Aurelia visibly flinches as yet another connection to Hell is severed; it didn't hurt her, per se, but it was more like the shuddering sensation of being in a carriage that skids suddenly to a halt. Undeterred, she calls back the hulking rottweiler that now had a chance to rest from its brief visit earlier, sending it deep into the mists where she herself cannot see.

Summoning a fiendish dog again.

Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Her devilish pet snarls and chomps at the woman in front of him, but it's hard to see in the mist and his teeth chomp down on empty air.

Somehow still alive despite all the odds, the eagle flies back up into the sky above Deandre's head, dodging and weaving past all counterattacks! It scrapes her face with its claws as it flaps up over her head.

Aurelia, meanwhile, moves around behind the corner of the building and attempts to lob a tiny orb of sickly greenish-yellow acid at the masked woman.

So long as you're prepared with ways to lift or drop your mount down ladders and so forth in dungeons, the Small mounted characters are actually pretty easy to handle since their mount is still Medium. A halfling on a wolf is pretty cool. Have you seen the Order of the Paw? Going Order of the Dragon would help with "wilderness" skills too.

I just realised I keep forgetting to add the bless... oh well. :P

Eagle AOO: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7

The eagle apparently has some difficulty striking the leader as she stands, but luckily Moadis is here to clean up anyway.

If Moadis kills her, the eagle will five foot "step" forward. Otherwise it'll focus on the masked woman.

Fly (Hover): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Yikes! The eagle falls to the ground, which is... well, it's probably 10 foot in the air, so it'll take falling damage.

Falling Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Ha, it lives! With 1 hit point left! However, I believe it will provoke an AOO from Deandre for falling.

Injured and weakened, the devilish eagle can barely sustain itself, and it loses altitude--fast. It crashes into the ground at Moadis' feet.

I will see if Deandre kills it before I make my move.

My experience of PFS is that magical traps are not too common and we can use creative solutions to deal with them anyway. (Send in a summoned pony first for example), so I would honestly just prioritise whatever you like first.

We are a little lacking in some Knowledge skills.

Dungeoneering : None (decent skill worth getting some ranks in)

Ranger would be good for more DPS purposes and some "wilderness" skills (Survival and the like), we are lacking in that kind of thing.

Alchemist would be good for getting some more Knowledge skills and arcane magic (since we have two 3/4 casters and no full caster), you can focus on using your mutagens to be a pretty beastly melee combatant too or else go with the bombs at range.

Aurelia finds her voice taken from her as the mighty orcish warrior falls to the ground with a terrible, terrible blow. No, those aren't tears in her eyes, it's just... dusty around here. With the fog and all, y'know?

Feeling rage (and even a smattering of guilt) overcome her, she resists the strong urge to step up and start sinking daggers into that freaking halfling so he could feel the same pain. This is why we keep them in line as slaves, lest they turn into murderous psychopaths!

"KILL THEM!" she manages to shout out at her eagle, who dutifully follows suit with a bite to the masked woman's neck and a talon raked across her scalp.

Aurelia scowls darkly at the thugs waiting in ambush down the alleyway. "Excuse me," she spits venomously, "but you are blocking our passage here. Move, or I shall make you move!"

With one simple gesture, a fiery summoning circle featuring the pentacle of Asmodeus appears in the air before the masked woman; Aurelia's hair likewise catches alight, her eyes burning with hellfire. From the circle steps a black-furred rottweiler, its eyes glowing with red malice and its hackles raised in a snarl. A row of bone-spurs arch down its back.

Aurelia takes the jewelled wand and scans it for magical energies. Alas, even if they are present, she has no idea what enchantment might be present.

When Valik points out the key, Aurelia muses for a moment, and then snaps her fingers, an idea coming to her. "Let me handle this," she says with a smirk, and begins to summon an ally from the nether planes. With a crackle of fire and smoky brimstone, the eagle from the caves a few weeks back appears on her arm.

OK, what I want to do is summon an eagle and push it with Handle Animal to use the Fetch trick on the key. The problem is that I need to hit a DC 25, and so I need to use guidance on myself to get that AND roll a 20...

So basically, standard action cast + full-round action to push means I can try 5 times before the spell ends.

Aurelia blinks at the request from Valik, her red eyes slowly drifting on over to the hulking devil, still enjoying the last remains of his impromptu rat meal. "Umm," she hesitates--a rarity from the young Chelish noblewoman indeed--and places one index finger on her cheek as she considers, "well, I've only ever told him to break into things, not lock things up behind us..."

She turns to the devil, calls him to her side, and begins to explain the task Valik described in Infernal. Malgorrak frowns, but after a few clarifications he seems to get the idea, and nods.

"Malgorrak can jam the lock, apparently!" Aurelia says cheerfully, and finally gets off her position on the crate with a bit of a wince. "Ahh, not the most comfortable of chairs... where are we off to next?"

Mal takes 10 on Disable Device to jam the lock once everyone is out of the warehouse.

@Mel, I recommend that you closely check the actions in your class description. It's really important for a magus to be on top of all that because they potentially have so many small actions every single turn.

The class is really complicated, so make sure you understand the mechanics well...

Arcane Pool is a swift action. Arcane Strike (a feat many maguses will take) is also a swift action. So chaining these in the right order is important.

Spell Combat is a full round action, but even if you didn't have to draw your weapon, you take a -2 penalty on all attack rolls made that round. Not to mention you'd have to make a Concentration check to cast defensively if you didn't want to provoke an attack from the rats in this case. You can willingly take penalties on your attack rolls to get a bonus to concentration checks.

You can also take advantage of the fact that you can 5-foot step freely during a full attack, so you could cast a spell, 5-foot step in, and then take your normal attack(s). If you cast a touch spell, you get a free touch attack that round, so you could cast shocking grasp, 5-foot step in, and then attack with your axe and your touch spell (each with a -2 penalty).

And then spellstrike comes into play at level 2...

Aurelia trails in behind the others, not looking particularly pleased at the grimy and filthy atmosphere she finds herself in. She lets the others take a lead role, finding a small box to sit upon with a sigh. "Go help them out, Malgorrak," she says despondently, not even bothering to switch to the more elegant (in her mind) language of Infernal to direct her devil-pet. The burned and chained pit fiend stares at her for a few moments but eventually follows after Mel to help dig through the crates and do some heavy lifting if need be.

"Malgorrak is quite good at dismantling things," Aurelia notes proudly with a small hint of a smile. "Give me a minute, and him a few more on top of that, and we'll be able to make our way inside. I do try to avoid having him out in public, though... townsfolk don't tend to take kindly to seeing him, you know?"

If there are no protests, Aurelia goes through her summoning ritual as qucik as she can. She uses a pinch of ash from her spell component pouch to create a circle on the ground from which Malgorrak appears, wreathed in flames and without any trace of the wounds the minotaur had inflicted on him a few weeks back. The pit fiend seems to take incredible pleasure in breaking apart the lock, surprisingly deft despite the massive talons on his hands.

If we're willing to wait for him to take 20, that gives Mal a 25 on Disable Device.

Aurelia turns her nose up immediately at the creepy store and its incredibly suspicious owner, and makes sure to keep her belongings close. "Moadis," she says with a light sigh, "Mr. Karela said that they were his belongings, just that his... friend... messed up. It's not really theft if it's his stuff, is it?"

Aurelia smiles widely and curtseys to Zarta as they leave the room with the box in tow. "Certainly, m'lady. I've heard that you throw the most wonderful... parties here, and it would be my absolute pleasure to attend one."

"My apologies for the mess--this one here," she nods at Moadis, "apparently can't control himself sometimes..."

Aurelia whispers the next part in Zarta's ear with a smirk. "That unfortunately comes with age, or so I've heard."

I believe the first one on the list is Guaril Karela, yes?
