The Ape are indeed Evil he looks straight in their leader's eye as a Challenge Mortal law, like your jungle law has nothing to do with what is Evil or if Good. It is not even God's Law. Selfishness, greed, or extreme vanity do not make one Evil North theives or even assasin of small Nature. Evil implies hurting, oppressing, and killing others. Some evil creatures simply have no compassion for others and kill without qualms if doing so is convenient. Others actively pursue evil, killing for sport or out of duty to some evil deity or master. But these things are hard to Explain. i do not Necessarily comprehend all the Moral compass of what is and what is not Evil. I Know you are Evil. It is not by something or someone. You are and I do know of it. And that is enough for me. he clearly says for all to hear

Not all of the invaders are demons. Some a just plain human and therefore securing weapons so that those that are gathered here can arms and armor themselves up to face the normal cultist should be important to don't you think?
