"I do, and Pytros hearing that the weapons aren't anything special might convince him to come with us. Or if they are magical we can use them against the troll." Ruarc shrugs. "He makes a good point, without the proper tools the troll will be invincible to us anyway. Unless Max can attack it with some acid spell...?"
Pretty sure they have fire immunity or resistance from being fiendish.

Maximillian Akorius |

"I did not prepare an acid incantation today. Perhaps we should indeed retrieve the weapons. I can be better prepared for facing a troll tomorrow."

"This particular challenge is. Should we go in unprepared, we've become part of the problem and we either die or force the defenders to expend resources on our rescue. Are there any other sources of something that can cause harm to a fiend-blooded troll?" He thinks of what he knows of both trolls - admittedly hardly more than common lore - and what he knows of demons, and how the natural strengths of both might interact. "They are resistant to flames, the weakness of trolls, as well as all weapons. Resistant to spells as well, and most weaponry. Of course, it may be more deeply affected and be a half-fiend, in which case it would be resistant to acid as well. It will be a difficult creature to slay, regardless of the difficulty of ensuring that it does not immediately regenerate."

Joao Marcos |
His arms folded across his chest, Joao watched Aglamore and Arwen, noting their positions and reasoning for things, making sure to understand their viewpoints. He could not disagree with any of the points that were rasied, however, he would have gone with the most efficient solution. His preferences were something that he realized had not been voiced yet, and he levered himself off of the wall to hook his hands in his belt, the magical shortsword over his right shoulder as usual.
"I realize that I may have not made my intentions clear. Please allow me to correct that: My reason for being here is to learn how to kill demons." His tone was even, calm, but rock solid in his declaration. "The more knowledge I can acquire that helps that purpose is my preference. As I see it, we need weapons, so that the influx can be further stemmed. Without us being on our heels, we are allowed the leeway of 'correcting' the cultists. With these 'corrections', the tide of demons is further reduced, and we stand a significant chance of removing their presence from this once-beautiful city."
Looking around at the others for any sign of disagreement with what he said, he nodded slightly, more to himself, most likely. Inviting discussion, he raised his eyebrows slightly. [b]"Are my thoughts wrong in this?"

Aglamore |

Not wishing to appear pedantic on the issue of means versus motivations, Brother Aglamore shakes his head. "No. Your logic is sound and I am convinced of the need to seize the weapons cache first. Let us be about it, then."

GM Fanguar |

Tracking down a grateful Anevia, you grab your gear and head out into the ruins of the city once more. As you're leaving, you catch sight of Irabeth organizing several groups of crusaders.
Taking point, Anevia leads you through the streets. The city remains alive with the sounds of distant battle, screams of pain and bellows of rage. As you approach you destination, another sound begins you rise above the background din, the sound of small detonations and the cackle of laughter. Easing your way towards the noise, you find yourselves at the edge of a large square. Once a beautiful fountain shaped in the image of of Iomedae and her angelic host stood in the center of the square but now little is left save rubble. The perpetrators of this destruction still remain. A trio of rat-faced demons caper around the remains of the statue. While you watch, one of them raises a clawed finger and part of the ruined statue shatters into a shower of marble fragments.

It was a surprise to see demons so soon, but what was expected and what happened were always two different things, so Joao took it in stride, his right hand freeing the sword on his back as he pressed himself against the wall to let the others begin the fight. Much of his gear he modified as he could to try to make sure that it could be accessed quietly, but there were never any guarantees. A flick of his wrist switched the grip he had on the sword, and he prepared to let the others engage first. He just wished that his heart was not trying to pound out of his chest.
He hoped it would not impair what he would have to do.

He pulls the rat-like demon towards him, nearly knocking him off his feet - but the demon rights itself at the last moment to stay upright. "Anyone have a mirror? Wrecker demons cannot stand the sight of their own visage," he alerts the others. "Guard yourselves against their bite!

"No mirrors," says Aglamore, "but I do have this."

It was a risky proposition, but Joao kept the momentum going, closing distance to the other, blinded demon and attacking again. Considering that these demons were destroying statues, he did not want to give them any chance at being able to destroy them the same way. If the demon was listening, the only give away before his attack was the crunch from his boots as he turned his foot with the strike for added leverage.
'Fitting', he thought to himself, the strike failing to penetrate the demon's tough skin. It would take a few seconds to set up another attack, and the demon would likely regain its sight by then. He would have to be ready.

There are a thousand thousand more like them waiting out there for us. Let's check the area for survivors and be on our way."

Joao sheathed the sword over his shoulder, searching the remains of what had been the demons, then turned his attention to the surrounding area, checking all the houses along one side of the square. It was his thinking that if anything remained in the houses, the demons had gotten to it first-- but the statue was the first noticeable thing about the square, so perhaps they had gotten here before they could turn their attention to the houses.
