Alright, new playtest document, let's give this a look over...
Half-Elves and Half-Orcs not being their own ancestry but things you buy into via human ancestry? That and base human not having a proper level 5 feat like all the other ancestries?
Now, let's check out the backgrounds...
Not the worst thing ever but I do wish there was more oomph to them, maybe a scaling thing for level like ancestry and class. And speaking of class!
Alchemist - No longer a pseudo-caster, I can get behind that. This doesn't seem too bad, at least with a first glance over.
Barbarian - No more alignment restriction but I'm also not too keen on the anathemas, they don't seem too well balanced against one another.
Bard - Is now a full caster? And rather than it be an arcane one it's an occultist? What? That's a pretty big departure. But if you're willing to make departure for everything so far, maybe there is hope down the line for one specific class in particular...
Cleric - Seems about right, though I still take offense to the "absolutely must worship a god" bit. I've always loved clerics who cast/fight with determination in a set of beliefs rather than simply being imbued by a deity.
Druid - Don't really see anything that stands out as "oh, that's neat" or "oh, that's silly." Again, this is just a first reaction so who knows, maybe I missed something.
Fighter - Seems to have a fairly restrictive skill list again, but moving on, it seems to be somehow even more straightjacketed than ever by actively pushing heavy armor, heavy weapons on the player. Like all of the classes, I really wish there was more variety to them, things not unlike archetypes again. Still, this does seem more fun to play than the 1e Fighter at least. I'll need to give it a try at some point.
Monk - Alright, not too shabby in my opinion. I'm not seeing an alignment restriction here. Let's give the rest a look... Skills seem slim like the Fighter again, but maybe that's the kind of goal Paizo is going for I guess? And the feats seem fun enough. Not bad, probably the best looking class so far.
Paladin - And now the big one, the one I've been looking forward to. Alright, let's see if... What? They still need to be LG?
And I've dropped the game. I'm sorry, there are so many things that were already starting to make me anxious (Occultist bards, half-elves and half-orcs not being their own thing, weird anathemas, and I skipped ahead and they don't even have weapon cords so yeah, let's just nerf people who use weapons more.
I'm not mad, I'm not surprised. I'm just... Disappointed. I'll still do the surveys but hot damn, I hope the people at Paizo wise up about a lot of this stuff.
Numeria has a long history of mystery and wonder buried under its rugged landscape, for on that one fateful night thousands of years ago, the Rain of Stars scarred the land. The fragmented remnants of a ship from beyond the stars fell from the sky, scattering strange technological ruins and deadly perils across the land. Today, these sites are feared by the barbaric tribes and coveted by the sinister spellcasters of the Technic League. Yet something worse than brutish berserker or super-science wizard has risen to power in these hidden technological halls. The Iron Gods are ready to make their presence known, and if they are not opposed by the region’s newest heroes, a scourge unlike any the Inner Sea has seen will arise! From small Numerian towns to strange technological ruins to the region’s infamous capital of Starfall—and perhaps beyond—the Iron Gods Adventure Path will take your heroes into places unlike any seen before in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game!

With the sun in the sky bright and cheerful, the clouds dotting and occasionally shading the small town of Sandpoint as well, the mood of it's citizens could be felt by even the most hardened of individuals.
The occasion? Why, the consecration of the newly built Sandpoint Cathedral, a mighty temple in reverence of six locally venerated deities replacing the lost temple that tragically burnt away several years earlier. The day is also coinciding with the Swallowtail Festival, a day of reverence for the followers of Desna (and many others who simply enjoy the fun and games).
Children ran about playing games, the elderly gathered and told tales to those who would listen. Adults thronged the streets going store to store before finally gathering in the open air market on the south end of town or exploring the stalls set up before the newly built Sandpoint Cathedral. All through the morning citizens of various note (and some folk from as far afield as Magnimar) would step atop the small stage before the Cathedral to rouse the crowd for either a new sale at a nearby stall, to thank them for their long and hard work as did Mayor Deverin, or, a little more dourly in the case of Sheriff Hemlock, asking everyone to remain safe with their games the approaching evening's bonfire.
As the sun begins to approach it's zenith, the crowds begin to congregate nearer the Cathedral.
During these early festivities, what would you all like to be doing? There are a number of games ranging from games of chance to simple old tug-o-war being played, there are sales at stalls for fine Varisian scarves to fine goods from Magnimar. Local food, foreign dishes and even a blend of Tian-Varisian fare is being offered at heavily reduced prices by local tavern proprietor Ameiko Kaijitsu. You may also peruse the various stores as well or seek out any citizen of note if you wish. If you have any questions for who or where one should go, just ask!

Hello, everyone, newer GM here! After much diddling around I've decided to test the waters of pbp gaming scene. I've ran several campaigns in real life, but never online. I've decided to try my hand at running the Anniversary Edition of Rise of the Runelords!
I know from scanning through the recruitment pages this appears to be one of if not the most popular AP out there, and with it's unique and, dare I say, FUN story, I feel that this would be a good one to start with!
Right, now we need specifics, yes?
I'll be running the game fairly casually since life, you know? I want 1 post minimum a day Monday through Friday and 1 post over the weekends. This is all for fun, so try to make a character that just sounds fun to play, not necessarily one that is 'best' at what they do.
Firstly! - No 3PP! Don't even ask, please.
Point Build - Normally I would call for 15, but I want to try a truly epic game, so let's go with 25 points!
Races - All core plus Aasimar, Kitsune, Tengu and Tiefling. Alternate racial traits are fine, and the only major restrictions are as follow - Fey Thoughts is banned; Variant Aasimar/Tiefling abilities are barred, but Aasimar/Tiefling physical features are allowed and must be rolled (2 max); the Tiefling Qlippoth-Spawn are also banned for mostly aesthetic reasons.
Classes - All but Occult classes (I have no bearing on them). Archetypes are fine, though ask first, please.
Starting Wealth and HP - Starting wealth is max for class, as well as HP. Thereafter, HP is rolled.
Traits - Start with three, one being from the awesome and free Player's Guide, one from either the Combat, Faith, Magic or Social traits list (none of which may increase starting wealth), and one Racial Trait.
Alignments - No Evil.
Starting Level - 1st level.
Lastly! - A simple 5 to 7 sentence background outlining your character, why they are in Sandpoint (local, passing through, settling down, etc), that sort of thing. I will be picking 5 characters.
Recruitment ends December 15 at midnight (that is the midnight from Dec 14 transitioning to Dec 15).
Best of luck and can't wait to see the characters and such!
