Ulrich, you do notice some of the missing tools scattered about here. The mitflits were using them to dig and expand the cave. There are still some odd things like the spooked horses and Andor's condition seems more than the mitflits could have managed. It could be just bad luck and coincident or...Well the main issue is solved for now.
You head back to the village and already the heavy clouds of mosquitos have abated. Some of the more advneterous villagers are already outside surveying what will need to be done next. But at least mosquitos won't be the problem.
Haru also returns with Andor, they looked briefly around the clearing but aside from the gear, no actual body of Lastre was found. However, you are able to bring Andor back with you in order to get treatment for his disease, but he is done with his field investigation days. Haru recovers and says she will still go and see if she can discover anything more about the disposition of her friend.
Venture Captain Smine is pleased with the reports and says he will keep an eye on the goings on in Shimmerford. In fact he did get a report while you were returning to Tymon, that the locals found the cave where the mitflits were burrowed had collapsed and the found a small and intricate paper doll of the Mosquito Witch found in the mud nearby.

Reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Almost dodge the bolt completely, the mitflit gets singed a bit.
Ulrich's razor however does not seem to gain any purchase.
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
But then the Boss starts to cower to Mafalda's evil eye.
With all that distraction, Suzzavyan explodes in a flash of deadly steel that cuts down the Gwibble the head Mitflit
Taking a moment you gather your breath and scout a head. In one room you find almost another dozen mitflits, but they immediately cower and surrender to your approach.

Grazmik and Phinick play an entertaining game of I am seeing you! much to the quiet amusement of many of the locals, though none of them say anything to either of you. Expect Hallod, he occasionally yells at Grazmik to "git off yr'arse an' git me my drink" But Phinick quickly takes care of it.
Killian definitely picks out that Hallod is the accepted town bully, though you watch that most of the rest of the locals just leave him be. He also notices that the other goblin seems very attentive to dealing with Hallod. And when the bully mistakenly confuses Grazmik for Phinick, Phinick seems to be doing what he can as to keep Grazmik out of harms way.
Windgate finds the attention Sir Lawren Krent, In a very well inebriated speech he exclaims, "Another well breed gentleman finally graces this town. Oh I don't put much stock in ones physique, but I can tell just by how you hold yourself you are a man of quality. Come tell an old Knight what brings you to this nowhere." Then in a sotto voice. "And make sure you leave with your team"
Amoung the locals, Windgate notices Flonk the Bard, preparing for tonights entertainment, and one notable Farmer Eallom, drinking excessively and carousing with the other farmers.
Bort adds additional coloration to your tale with the wolves. With some notable liberites. He, of course, was bravely keeping the wagons secure, but does mention the valiant Killian facing the wolf in single combat, only to be felled, but still brave.

You are met by Edra Wythe, the stable hand at the Feedmill. She greets you when the caravan arrives and immediately worries about the condition of the horses. Entering the tavern you meet by Delma and the rest of the staff at the Feedmill. Notably, the goblin Phinick is particularly shy around newcomers, even Grazmic.
It is early in the evening and currently only Hallod —a gigantic, brutish human man. Phinick is serving him food and drink, squeaking whenever Hallod demands another round. Bort makes arrangements for dinner for all, and you have an hour or so to relax and recover as evening falls and the tavern slowly fills with other locals.
The accommodations are simple, straw mattresses in a common room, but it is dry and warm and not outside. A significant improvement from sleeping in the caravan or on the road. Over the course of the next hour about a dozen and half locals make their way to the Feedmill. Notably: Farmer Eallom, Flonk the Bard, and Sir Lawren.
Kolnral and Trin are serving the guests tonight, while Delma tends bar and Amora is busy in the kitchen.

Investigating the wolf: (spending a few minutes before getting recruited to get the cart out of the mud) The wolf shows signs of inadvertent corruption, which seems organic or alchemical in nature. Not magical or mechanical.
You don't feel like you can get any more out of investigating the wolf now. But something is "wrong" around here.
After some cleaver work understanding mud and some brute force, you get the cart moving again, and make the final push to Etran's Folly before nightfall. Bort Promises the best dinner available at the Feedmill, the town tavern, for their heroic effort in protecting the caravan.
Also Killian gets a hero point for the first to get to dying
The journey takes only an hour, and the wagons roll into town a few hours before dusk. All of the wagons head for the Feedmill, the only inn and tavern in the small community.
Map of Etran's Folly
Most of the simple wood-and-thatch homes in Etran’s Folly look identical to one another and are in a similar state of disrepair. A number of the houses clearly look abandoned, their roofs collapsed. If the characters ask about this, anyone in the caravan can tell them the community suffered heavily from the plague 20 years ago and has never fully recovered.
As they pass through the middle of town, the wagons go around the ancient plaguestone, a large, flat, cylindrical rock standing 2 feet high, with a hole in its center and a bowl-shaped depression off to one side. When the plague ran rampant, the townsfolk left food for the sick in the bowl, while the sick left coins in the center hole (which was filled with vinegar to cleanse the coinage of contamination). Today, the stone is nothing more than a moss-covered relic, although the villain in this adventure has deadly plans for it.
Upon arrival, the teamsters secure the caravan for the night while Bort travels around town to conduct business with the crafters and families that call Etran’s Folly home.
The Feedmill is busy with the evening's collection of Local

I decided to try something a little meatier now and run the Fall of Plaguestone.
I am looking for 4 or 5 brave souls that are willing to commit to the whole thing. I expect it to take about 3 months of PbP. Though I will trim a few of the more fluff/low risk encounters for speed. Still will take a while.
Unlike my normal PFS games, this will be by application and I will leave this open for about a week while I get everything ready.
Please be able to post daily -- Though Saturday and Sunday will normally count as one "day" However, I know there will be conventions and what not during that time. So as long as you let the table know we can bot/work around you. Also there will be some flexibility around the upcoming Holidays.
I normally do one GM post in the morning Eastern US time and a few follow ups though the day.
Since this is campaign mode, I am pretty much open.
* All published ancestries and versatile heritages are available (without any AcP Boon)
* All Common options are available, and Uncommon ones are if your character meets the requirements.
* This will go to level 3 so have ideas on how you will want to progress. We will level up between chapters.
* Backgrounds from the Adventure (Lesser Scion, Lost and Alone, Missionary, Refugee, and Teamster) are encouraged but not required.
For you application. Please include:
Name:
Ancestry/Background/Class:
A notable event of your past:
A short-term goal for your character (something that could be achieved by level 3):
A long-term goal for your character (something that would happen after or beyond the scope of one adventure)
Why are you working for Bort's Caravan, or why are you traveling with him to Etran’s Folly:
Looking forward to this!

Granitt does not seem to make much headway with the blacksmith, but Zaza's perfect recall of the great bard moves the actor to tears she realizes her folly in this endeavor.
Stepping down she speaks:
"Come, let’s away to prison.
We two alone will sing like birds i’ th’ cage.
When thou dost ask me blessing, I’ll kneel down
And ask of thee forgiveness. So we’ll live,
And pray, and sing, and tell old tales, and laugh
At gilded butterflies, and hear poor rogues
Talk of court news, and we’ll talk with them too—
Who loses and who wins; who’s in, who’s out—
And take upon ’s the mystery of things,
As if we were God’s spies. And we’ll wear out,
In a walled prison, packs and sects of great ones
That ebb and flow by th’ moon."

Merisiel follows up her dagger throwing with an flawless display of her own physical prowess. With many oos and ahhs
Muzzo starts off by being a fearsome, but gets more nervous laughs at him than any significant change of mood. But then turns around and easily shows up many of the other builder goblins in haul kegs and some impromptu wrestling.
Rufous follows up with another Hymn, though enjoyable, many want to hear the first one again. Over all he is still quite the hit with songs about sun, flames, and fire.
And Rufous gets one extra Hero Point making John Denver a Seranite bard.
Trig keeps it interesting with his interpretative drumming.
Yeagren still does not seem to get much from the goblins. His feats of strength pale behind Muzzo. Aside from one or two awkward smiles, most of the goblins have their attentions elsewhere.
Grimm can still make some attempts to impress the goblins

The gnome takes you to her cottage. Galia is happy to offer her house for the you to stay, though it is extremely small and cramped, even for Small-sized creatures. The main room does have her barber's chair.
“W-well, you probably noticed the mosquitoes. There’ve been a lot of bloodseekers, too. Those are mosquitoes that are as big as your heads! The little ones are bad enough, but the big ones have been driving people out of the town. One even carried off poor Mrs. McClairby’s cat, and some of them killed all of Mr. Rujat’s prize cattle. It’s been really, really, really awful around here!”
“Most people think it’s…” Galia lowers her voice to a whisper. “…the witch. I thought that maybe it could have been a c-cultist of Ghlaunder, but that turned out to be wrong, so I don’t know what else it could be.”
“As to what they say started this?" Galis pours more beet juice as if to return to her role as town gossip. "[b]Um, let me see. Mr. Albi’s daughter ran off with the traveling postman, and there was a big fuss about Mr. Vernon’s rooster getting out to harass Mrs. Favam’s ducks. I don’t think any of that would have caused this, though. Even Ms. Lyons d-didn’t seem to think anything was wrong, until the mosquitoes showed up.”

How much time it takes to play a Module has always been an issue with me and getting PFS credit. Something like Gallows of Madness could be done in about 6 hours per part. And yet that is worth 2 table credits and a level of XP each. I have not seen how "Sanctioned only" Content for AP plays out.
Under the old system certain modules were great for quickly leveling and/or getting table credits (Master of the Fallen Fortress -- GO Harsk!) They maybe take a full 8 hours (but most less) So table credit was about right, but you get accelerated XP.
The issue is that Modules are not designed with the pacing of PFS in mind. So playing one under PFS rules can very widely.

Ferious - I see it as two intersecting issues.
* Should everything printed be playable via PFS?
* And how much PFS material should be created each month/quarter to keep PFS healthy?
I found Godsmouth Hersey, the Emerald Spire, and Ruby Phoenix Tournament as good additions for PFS. The chopping up of APs and Dragons Demand did a disservice to the Adventure at the expense of creating more PFS playable content.
Right now the main thing preventing going back to the 32-page format is the editorial pipeline. So how do we find that happy medium?

So now that Origins is over and I have my 5th star time to run the Starfinder Tables.
I have in mind running a table or two of 1-32: Acts of Association
But I am open to run other tables as well depending on desire. So I am going to leave THIS RECUITMENT THREAD open for people to post what they may want to play and once I get enough interia and time I can offer those tables. So drop a note there, or here, if you are interested in 1-32 or anything else

Coming somewhat late to this, I would like to add my favor for either making it only one session or one session that a VC has to observe. The other two sessions can be VLs or other 5-splater.
Also if you are going to require three, then I would suggest (after GenCon and Pax unplugged) to allow for GMs to request reviews when they sign up for the big conventions. Also if you allow for other 5-splaters and VLs to review, they can volunteer a review slot as well for those cons.

The large wooden chest holds Tasskar’s treasure, some of it gathered from within the Fallen Fortress: a masterwork short sword, 15 cold iron shurikens, two flasks of acid, a potion of cat’s grace, a potion of lesser restoration, a wand of summon monster I (CL 3rd, 9 charges), an amethyst worth 100 gp, and 247 gp in assorted coins.
The treasure chest bears the maker's mark of the "Mack, Guff, and Phine: Coopers, Carpenters, and Cobblers"
Inside it contains not only the Legendary Harsk-stone, but the Lesser Stone of Harsk, and the Stoned Harsk.

At this point the tower is clear of its current infestation, and you have the prize that the old man was asking for.
The Crocodile follows along for a while till it finds some more interesting waterway and slides on under the surface. Though its white nose does stick out of the water from time to time.
This wraps it all up I will take care of chronicles after I get back from Paizo Con

"What do you think of all of this? This simulation, those poor dwarves, and all those other doors, stretching on and on?"
Well, it is a fascinating structure. This explains the unusual density and gravity. Though not my field. I just dig the holes. I let other build things like this. Though I know this Nuar and a Witchwyrd that might want to poke around.
"What do you think this means? What purpose could it possibly serve?"
Bah, most likely more deluded folk. But I am not the people person.
“But do you think aliens did it? Does this change our understanding of the galaxy's history?”
Aliens? We are all Aliens to someone. And History don't change it just is. Well there is the Gap, the history is still there, we just need to find it.
"Has this journey changed you in any way? Have you discovered new things about yourself along the way?"
It was a nice change of pace of not spending months our year in a hole. I kind of like this retirement. Low stress. See the sights, meet new people. Once again, the misses was right. The Starfinders can keep me busy
"Do you have anything to add or say to me and the Studio Audience?"
If you are stuck in a hole. Just keep digging, you will always find something.

You can tell from the outside the tower has five levels. And each floor similar in external layout except for the top that is crowned with a slightly larger top.
You are a few hours away from Absalom, and there is nothing preventing you from climbing back out and resting the night.

For everyone's sake I will limit the dialect since this is wall of text
GM Hmm wrote: BOOTH TIME!
"Frank, tell us about yourself and where you came from. As a miner, I understand that you've been all over. Is that what led you to become a Starfinder?"
"I was born only a few decades after the gap, bout the same time the Vesk were first seen in the Pact worlds, heck about the time it all became The Pact Worlds. Pops Maxwell was running Silver Hammer Mining operations, and my Nan took care of the business details. They seemed to have been in charge from before the Gap, but who knows. We were a clan of sorts. Though the Gap kind of messed up who was related to who, so we all just called each other Uncle or Cousins or Nieces. Heck, we even adopt a handful of not dwarves in to the clan. The Company already had operations in the pact space and near. We would hire out to investors to go dig up some rocks, chip ice, or suck gas in far off places. Claims that were to small for the major corps to exploit, but large enough to be profitable. "
"Anyway, I followed in the family business. Though even then a good number of my cousins opted out the miners life, and Pops supported them. What's the point of working if you don't got the calling? As such the Company still took on others, dwarf and not, and invited them to the family. That is one reason why I got tapped to run the company at before I was even a full century old. I loved the job and had a knack for the rocks. Hilda and I were only married a decade when it happened. BANG! BANG! and the rocks fell on his head. Pops Maxwell was dead. And I got charge of the Silver Hammer Mining"
"I ran the company for while, and worked all over. There was the aggression with the Vesk all that time but, Pops told me that rocks don't care who uses them. So I worked for a few Vesk operations. Sometimes not really voluntarily. Let's just say I learned a lot about dealing with vesk breaking out those camps, and rescuing my crews. That ins't to say the Pact was much better. We had a few stints be guests of the Stewards for Conspiring with the enemy. But that is water under the bridge."
"A few decades ago, Hilda and I decided to retire from running the Company. So we passed off to my nephew Theron and his partner Alice. I still run a few jobs, to keep busy. But retirement doesn't sit well with me. So We moved to Absalom station and I signed up with the Starfinders. There jobs are short only a few weeks and Hilda can bounce around to visit the kids while gone. Much nicer only being away for a few weeks then a few years. "

"So, you're the participant that keeps surprising us. Every time we think we have you pegged, you surprise us again. You're not just a miner, you're a tracker. You're a family man who talks about his wife and kids. Then you're the mad man who pulls out a stick of dynamite and out-dominates a pair of Vesk! What's next, Frank?"
"Well, If I told you it would not be a surprise. Still being a shy thee centuries old, and married for almost two of them, I have seen a lot. I don't know if I really out dominated them, just got them back on task. Ran a company for 150 so I know how to get people to work. Sometimes you use a stick of dynamite, some times it s cup a tea and sugar. Going down random holes, you got you keep your wits about which way is up. And also be on the look out for that things that can eat you, or things you can eat. You learn not to be picky after a while."

"So there's a big mystery, and at the center of it, dwarves! What do you think of these strange dwarves who believe that Golarian still exists? What's your theory, about what''s really happening here?"
"Well I know this is not Golarian, and this some fancy place. They could be some isolated pre-gappers. And been stuck here as some type of ark. But why just dwarves and why Quest for Sky? My Nan always said that the Quest for Sky was collectively the most foolish thing that the old Dwarves ever did. Why would any one in their right mind want to leave the rock. The Sky aint been nothing but trouble since. "
"Suffice to say we were did not keep the Old Ways Nan would talk about Torag and Dranngvit, and that they were lost to us. So we better just do it ourselves now. "
"Still I know this moon isn't natural. So that is a mystery. Though I am more curious on to how it was done. I will let others question the Why. "
Quote:
"More importantly, these are dwarves, and you are a dwarf's dwarf. Do you feel a responsibility here? If Ylga were a halfling or a vesk, would you feel differently?"
"Now lets not get all storybooking. I have seen enough of the universe to know that just because two folks have similar genetic code does not mean they instinctively give a rat's about each other. Family is what you make it. I have a good number of not dwarves I call family. Heck, I even have a few Orc grandchildren. I also have a few dwarves I know that I would not mind seeing left at the bottom of some old mine shaft, that is collapsed and starting to flood. "
" Those that put them here are responsible. And if Ylga and her folk were Vesk I would still would rather offer my hand and help then leave them to what ever fate is here. This rock and stable, and that is the issue at hand"

"What has been your impression of all your teammates so far? Any interesting insights?"
"They are all good kids. Chor and Jul are just youngin's out to prove themselves. I don't fault them for that, I have dealt with many hot heads. Just need to do a bit a razzle dazzle to get them pointed in the right direction. Kastien is one of those always looking for order in this place. I wish him luck. I have seen a lot of the verse and well it is far from orderly. I always never really know how to read androids. Abitar-4 is defiantly on the new side of life and that makes it harder. But so far what ever soul he got is looking to build rather than destroy. Ceolor, I enjoy. Taking the crappy hand he was dealt and making it big. I don't read much myself, but I recall Hilda did enjoy Around the Pact Worlds Anyway a good mix of idealism and pragmatism. "
"This is my first gig with the Starfinders. So far everyone agrees on what needs to be done. Just some can get restless when we are waiting"
