Wasn't actualy aware of the part with the action points. But really Alrik dying is okay. As I'm in central Europe and all you guys are in the States this makes the game complicated for me. While this can work out it only does when either

a) the game moves at a 1-2 posts per player rate a day or
b) you guys post much during the day in the U.S. and not so much during the evening hours

Neither seems to be the case however. So that really cuts into our potential interaction window. So when I get up in the morning and there's 30+ posts it just doesn't work all that well I've learned that much in 8 years of PbP gaming.

In any case I enjoyed the game and it was nice to game with you guys perhaps we will meet again in the future!
While I wasn't gonna bow out my dude dying is a good excuse for me to say Saionara.

Alrik acting purely on instinct almost hadn't noticed the bard had tossed his weapon. seeing the Monk was still pestering his new Dwarven companion Alrik moved to quickly solve the problem.

In a tight spot with an unwieldly weapon Alrik lashes out at one of the mooks.

AoO kindo have to be resolved before my action cause if one of the mooks drops Alrik can actually move into a position to attack the big bad guy.

The fastest way is us -them. Also I'm going to bed soon NPC Alrik if needed to push combat onward. Genral guide to his tactics:

Get into the thick of things to provoke as many AoO as possibly focus on Renard and power attack. As soon as I take a hit use Lay on hands to heal up.

Grimmy how much tactics are you planning to allow in combat? I'm debating to pick up combat reflexes and wield a reach weapon. However that working in a PbP setting requires maps and that the GM look after such things as monster movement provoking AoO.

I'm good. My first choice was a hexcrafter (without magical lineage actually). The standard Magus I wasn't really feeling it, just seemed kinda bland mechanically.

But really with the background I wrote I think playing a Paladin would be a lot of fun from an RP perspective. Also for a dungeon crawl a Paladin makes a lot of sense and is a strong choice mechanically so I'm happy.

As I stated I can easily play a Paladin. However he will not be focused on healing but he will be able to Ego-heal and would get into baddies face to take the beating for the rest of the crew so that might help some.

So with you're okay I'll scratch the Magus idea and look into a nice Paladin build that works for the existing Background. Not sure if I'll have it together by today but I can manage by tommorow.

Also I'll have to look into Thyr and Muir and how I can build them in.

Hey Grimmy. I've been thinking about making Alric a Paladin as I'm not really super happy with standard Magus and you seem keen on having a divine follower of whatever that deity was.

The background I thought up would also work nicely for a Paladin and I'd only have to swap out academy for temple and remodel some of the motives. Thoughts?

Also a Paladin is likely pretty kick ass for Dungeon Crawling.
