I do apologize but I cannot participate in this game after all. I will simply fall behind as I had feared.

I thought it might be worth a try but with all the other activities I am typically involved with, I would simply be missing out. Since this morning I have been busy with a friend and I do not have the time to read and catch up.

Good day everyone. I must say I was surprised to see a GM return. That's a first for me. I decided to give it another go even if this is the only game I will be playing.

Nice to see some old faces and a few new ones.

Sorry I didn't post sooner I was running a RL game on roll20.

Okay the first recruitment is up. Sorry it took so long, I was working on another project last night. Here is the URL Souls of Lost Aridia Recruitment

The above is the desert campaign I mentioned. I will try and have the recruitment for the Dinosaur camapaign up later.

I am not accustom to running more than five players in a game so you all might not make it into the same one. I may spread you guys around a bit as you apply.

Remember I am big on character themes and story more than builds. So focus more on that element of your characters.

I am putting together two.

One is a desert campaign similar to the AP Legacy of Fire. Mine is homebrew. This one features an excusion into a great desert in search of riches. It is modeled after Arabian and Egyptian cultures using a good sum of those mythos.

The Second is similar to some degree to Serpent Skull but again, I do much better when running a homebrew. This one is more of a survival game. The enemy are a lizard people called Saurians who are taking over the region the players live in and destroying everything. The region is a massive prehistoric style land with lots of dinosaurs and Megafauna.

I love to GM when it is my own ideas I am putting out and both these campaigns are almost three years old so they have been used a lot. A lot of players compliment my creativity and say I do a great job and coming up with intricate and detailed stories.

That said, I pride myself on coming up with two very playable and well written campaigns.

The first of these will have it's recruitment up later tonight.

I just wanted to let you guys know, you seem an interesting group of players and I plan on starting two campaigns on the boards soon. I hope to have the recruitments up either today or tomorrow.

Since I have seen you guys in action I would definitely be willing to give any of you a near free guaranteed pass into any of the two if your interested.

Whenever I build a character I look strongly at theme over optimizing. Akisame was inspired by a character from an anime Called Kenichi the mightiest disciple. A good anime and Akisame is a very entertaining character in it.

I utilize all sorts of strange methods in character design that are very unorthodox. Like Akisame grappling and tying people up. He won't kill them.

I look at Noro confused. "I really don't think it was all that funny."

I then proceed to grapple and if successful, pin my foe.

Attempt to grapple:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 I think that is successful,

I then attempt another grapple maneuver to pin:1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 5 = 22

Sorry for the delay. I was busy.

I move over to position G10 which I can make with one move.

I then attempt to throw goblin 8

Trip Ki Throw:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 If successful the goblin will be prone in square F10

I sit up my new prisoner. "Does anyone speak goblin? We could ask this little fella what they are doing here and where they came from. Try not to hurt him, he is my charge now." I hold the goblin up for the others to see. "He's pretty bound up so he's harmless."

I look at the tied up goblin and chuckle. I get down on my haunches and look it over with a smile. "Not really sure. Killing things just isn't my style. He's actually kind of cute in an ugly sort of way. Maybe I'll by a cage and keep it as a pet. Yes that might work. I'll call him Mr. Uggles" I actually seem serious about this.

I presume since no one was attacking goblin 1 I managed to tie it up then.

I stand up dusting off a bit after binding my capture. I look around at the scenery. "Is everyone alright?" I ask.

Perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

I have the goblin down I attempt another series of maneuvers. Two grapple maneuvers, one to pin the goblin, one to tie it up. I gain a +5 competence bonus to my grapple checks since I an the controlling grappler and the goblin did not break free of the grapple last round.

1d20 + 5 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 5 - 1 = 20
1d20 + 5 + 5 - 10 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 5 - 10 - 1 = 15 -10 for attempting to tie up the target.

As I attempt the tie up I say."Now hold still while I bind you, if you please." I tie him up.

If I have successfully tied up the goblin then it is a DC 23 for it to escape the rope.

I know I forgot to specify this when combat started but I do have a rope handy and ready to complete the tie up action. I have four in my inventory along with a few manacles.

I throw the beast to the ground and laugh. "Such reckless little monsters these goblins." I then Proceed to grapple the creature using my Flurry of Maneuvers technique.

First attack of Flurry to Grapple:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Likely that fails I attempt to grapple again:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 and a success, the goblin is both grappled and prone.

I stand above the goblin and put it into a grapple hold as I hold it to the ground.

Okay I have placed myself.

I move in front of Victoria and ready an action to trip a goblin if it comes within reach.

Ki Throw trip:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 If successful the target will be thrown prone in a square opposite the one he approached from.

I am standing by Victoria. I am going to wait until I see where everyone else on the map is going to be before I take action.

Um where are we starting?

Sorry I haven't been too active. Been very under the weather lately. I am hoping to get over it soon but my posting will be slow for the time being.

I'm not sure about Akisame, but I think it's safe to say that he and Victoria just enjoy the festival, her being awkward and socially clumsy the whole time. Watching any shows or speeches, playing games, what have you.

Sorry just really tired today after a demanding last few days. But yeah, Vicky is right. Aki finds the games fun to watch but is not entirely interested in playing them. He is having more fun watching Victoria's social awkwardness. Very entertaining.

I nod at the crew and seem to relax a little. "Seems to be a good group. I hope to see more of them soon." I turn to Victoria. "Now, how about we go and see more of this festival. Where were you planning to head next?'

LOL, it was a long busy weekend and I had to speed read through a lot. I wasn't sure if anyone had even associated with me other than Victoria and possibly Noro.

I bow in the traditional Tien fashion. "It is a pleasure to meet you all. I am surprised there were so many people at that unsanctioned brawl with such decent intentions."

I bid farewell to the others and return to my room for the night.

The next day comes around I join the fair merely as an observer.

I watch the proceedings take place until I see Victoria. I greet her as she is heading on to her next game.

I approach. "Greetings Victoria-san. It is a fine day for a festival is it not?"

After the conflict I bow to the Sheriff. "Thank you for the assistance good sir. I appreciate the assistance."

I smile at Victoria and then look a bit sheepish. "I should be the one apologising as it was I who dragged you out here unprepared. I myself am always prepared for such matters. I am glad to see you unharmed."

I attempt to stand using acrobatics. Subduing my opponent is more the way I work so I won't be attempting to kill the man. Acrobatics to stand:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Provided I make it to my feet without being hit and knocked out by an AoO, I attempt to grapple my foe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

If he is grappled, the DC he must beat is a 20.

Seeing Noro in danger I leap into the ring and attempt to throw the hulking brute. I maintain a defensive stance while doing so.

Ki Throw w/ fighting defensively:1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 5 - 4 = 3 Hmm, well that sucks, I may have been knocked prone myself.

So who needs me the most right now? I am still not one hundred percent sure on everyone's condition.

I'll wait my turn to do something.

What's the plan, are we still fighting or are we going to run?

also, Pavanna, are the two thugs surrounding you still up? If you need help I can easily get to you and assist.

Okay, I was next to Victoria when this fight starts. I am taking my action as follows.

Seeing stuff breaking out I move to action. I five foot to thug #3. I then do Flurry of Maneuvers.

I start with Ki throw:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 To trip him, he is prone in square 10-F.

I then attempt to grapple him as my second maneuver:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 -I fail.

He will provoke if he attempts to stand. I will place myself and him.

If the color difference of squares means I cannot five foot, then I move and do the Ki throw instead of both the throw and grapple.

I won't be able to post just yet. I need to get through all the reading. I will post in a couple hours.

Okay, had a lot of stuff today so I just brush read skipping most of the OOC stuff.

@DM: Can Akisame bet on the match or is it too late? It was the original idea but it may be too late as I can kind of see a winner.

I am more interested in the fighters in and around the ring to know anything else. I listen to Victoria and respond. "I want to see just how all this works. I do not believe Noro is in real danger but if things do get worse then we can step in." I join her in the front row.

I have all my gear which includes 30 feet of rope amd three sets of manacles and a doctor's bag......don't ask.

I would get cleaned up as well and meet Victoria at a nice restaurant just near the docks. There I will treat her to dinner and we can discuss the kinds of mischief we got ourselves into at our perspective monasteries. Kids always do no matter how strict the place is.

Once dinner is finished we take our stroll. I am clearly looking for something as we walk the docks and as soon as I hear dockworkers discussing the matter I smirk. "I think I found what we are looking for. Understand, I am going to this place to size it up and see if it is something I can deal with. Keep your eyes open and take in as many details as you can. We can discuss what to do later. For now, let's go and see what is going on at that warehouse shall we?" With Victoria's consent I lead on.

I nod at Victoria. "It's okay, just as you said, as long as we have fun."

I'm ready to follow Noro to work now :p

I nod. "Later tonight. I am interested in where Noroku works. She is clearly having issues and I almost certain she must be into something worth investigating. If it turns out to be nothing then we can simply walk the streets together looking to keep the peace. And if all goes well then it will simply be nothing more than a late night stroll under the moonlight. Doesn't that sound romantic?

I beginning to think I am overdoing it a bit but it is just too much fun seeing Victoria's reactions. You are a really good sport you know that Vick?

I am hoping things get started soon. At this rate I will be telling my entire backstory before the games even begun.

Victoria listens intently. "Yes, that's the exact kind of thing I'd like to root out and stop. That's unfair to anyone, let alone someone as good as you are." She smiles.

I'd like to be to the point where we walk the docks. I'm assuming the action happens during the festival. Dunno though.

I smile warmly. "I see we really do have great chemistry. I have been on my own lifelong pursuit to help others against such tyrannies. This is way I wanted to go to the docks. I asked you to accompany me because I thought you might be able to handle yourself and would be interested and possibly would share my feelings. A perfect first date if you ask me."

It has indeed gotten quiet. Um continuing on the conversation I guess.

I listen to victoria's story and nod approving. "And a good voice you have for it. It is a shame the monks couldn't better appreciate the gifts the gods have blessed you with. It is okay. I too have had a rough childhood. I am a Varisian, Tian mix and I grew up in a town that was all about pure-blooded Tian. I was quickly the subject of every bully in town. My mother was once a noble and was disowned by her father when he learned she was pregnant with a mutt. It has been a tough life and I found solace in sculpting and medical research. Rather odd choices for a youngster to entertain I guess." I muse over my past.

About here bowmanship I respond. "Archery is a fine pursuit. I've known a few monks called Zen Archers who apply their arts to the bow. It is quite impressive. Archery takes great perception, dexterity, and precision. Far more difficult than swinging a sword."

I laugh when she comments about me being a martial artist. "Seems a common assumption. Someone is rasied in a monastery, they are a monk, they must know martial arts." I seem very amused. I follow my chuckles with a sigh. "You've got me pegged right. I am a martial artist. I study the arts of Aikido and Jujitsu, the arts of grappling and throwing. I control my opponents and disable them through binding techniques. I have been in many fights and have never directly killed another being. Granted my actions may have led to the deaths of some but I never did it with my bare hands. I don't plan on it anytime soon."

I look at Victoria curiously. "I noticed your attitude shifted city considerably when you started talking of Archery. This that you only favorite activity or do you have other enjoyable pursuits? "

My eyebrows raise in surprise. "A holy warrior? Well that is definitely a higher goal than I had intended to pursue. I hear the calling is particularly demanding with no room for compromise. The highest form of dedication and devotion can be found among the Paladins. You are a strong will a determined woman indeed to take on such a demanding choice of vocation. I shall pray to the heavens for your success and if it pleases you, I'd be happy to help in making sure the festivities commence without flaw." I seem very genuine in wanting to help Victoria in her goals.

"It seems you and I have a lot in common. Just out of curiosity, what is your preferred method of combat?"

I hadn't exactly planned romance or making my character a ladies man. The opportunity to have fun with someone else's naive personality was just too irresistible to pass up. Besides, given Victoria and Akisame's similar points of view, we may get along well.

At this point I am playing it by ear to see what happens. It is up to Victoria to play along with if she thinks it appropriate. If nothing else I ak mainly working on bonds but a little romance is always fun too if it fits.

Also, Akisame is not the same as Horatio. He is not anywhere near as aggressive with woman and would trust Victoria's judgement unless things step out of a good or even a lawful range. Otherwise Akisame won't be bothered if Horatio tries a play at Victoria.

I smile at Victoria and ponder a minute. "A chance encounter or one guided by the heavens? Still, it is nice to know someone else in this town share's my opinion. That is where my curiosity in the docks come in. I must admit you are a welcome companion and it seems my monastic teachings and your beliefs align nicely. You came here to help the good people where you could? Have you any particular area you are looking into or were you just looking in general?" I seem eager for the conversation to continue as though I am enjoying the chat.

P.S. Akisame isn't sure of what skills Victoria has but is very curious

At her comment about the happenings I respond. "They speak my native tongue. It is nothing you did. If I understand the situation correctly, that bard was making a romantic play on Noroku's brother's love interest. Noroku is simply acting in her brother's place. I am sure the matter will resolve itself without intervention. Seems they are talking it out at the moment So iit's best for now to let them settle it."

I respond to her second inquiry. "Normally I travel the land helping those who are taken advantage of and abused by others. I step in on behalf of the law and of good where either reach or reside. At the moment I have come to my father's hometown here in Sandpoint to retrieve a token he left me and thought I might stay and enjoy the festival too."

I fiddle with my wine glass for the moment a bit hesitant to speak further but I feel I can trust Victoria. "I have heard of foul play and dark corners here in Sandpoint. I am curious to see where they exist, what they are, and what may be done to remove them. There are a lot of good people here like Noro who do not deserve to live under such yokes. I would do what I could to ease the burden if not remove it " I seem solemn for a moment as if the weight of my mission were actually sitting on my shoulders right now.

I watch spectacle unfold. Interesting, she has a strong sense of family. She cares for her brother so dearly as to act out his feelings for him. I look over at Victoria. "Quite a sight that. It's nice to see people get so worked up over matters as simple as love. Alas I wish we truly lived in times so easy but with all the dark places out there, how can one spend so much on such a matter."

I pause for a moment and hold up both hands defensively to Victoria. "Oh forgive me, I tend to ramble at times it is nothing. So, on a different note, what brings a lovely lady like yourself to Sandpoint?"

I smile in return more coincidently. "Well then." I non agressively take Victoria's hand in mine. "I look forward to our ti.e together." If she lets me I gently touch my lip to the top of her hand. Looking into her eyes I smile warmly.

Now he is actually putting on some real charm :p

I smile. "I will be the judge of what I should or should not be involved in. I can take care of myself. If it is assciation you fear then allow me to show up not as an acquaintance of yours but as a simple wanderer looking to see what there is at Sandpoint. I merely wish to see all corners of this place and the way you make your work sound, it seems the very place I may have been looking for."

Aki has guessed the nature of your work to a degree. Enough to ascertain that it is dangerous and possibly unlawful. Now on to Victoria's

I smile at Victoria and extend my hand to her. "My lovely flower, would you like to accompany me to docks for an evening stroll later? We could see what it may have too offer a young couple under the moonlight."

I sip my wine and nod. "You have good self control there. You've mentioned work before but we got interrupted when you started hunting Victoria-San. What kind of work do you do? Does it relate to your skills? Is it open to the general public?"
