As one might expect from people corrupted by the Abyss, the mutated soldiers do not seem impressed by Goran's oratory. Instead, they charge into the fray with an inarticulate battlecry!
Most of them double-move, but one is able to reach Khugron and attack with his longspear.
One mutated deserter stabs at Khugron, connecting and drawing blood (10 damage)
Meanwhile, Lt Riko continues to doze, her form slightly blurry.

As the first foe approached, the tip of the bec de corbin did a quick motion, causing the grip to weaken on the longspear before the hammer slammed into its chest.

One of the deserters affected by Goran's spell clutches at his eyes, while the other two just squint harder.
Four of the five remaining deserters flap their wings and take off to support their commander, giving Khugron a wide berth as they go. The other one, blinded though he is, stabs at the nagaji.

I am a putz, apologies for being away this long AGAIN.
Reflex save, Water Conquest: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 That includes a +1 bonus versus cold, but might this stuff happen to count as Necromantic? If so, I'd get a further +4...not that it presently matters.
A VERY embarrassing interlude in which Xasay finds he must hurriedly disentangle his metal stencils from each other is abruptly ended by a blightfire volley he was not at all prepared for.
Looking up and seeing mutant soldiers now practically in his face, Xasay gingerly backs away...
defensive casting, DC 21: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
...and begins singing a dreadful subsonic funerary chant, his voice like a swarm of bees and more felt than heard, building into a quick crescendo before he throws his hands out at the soldiers, and their entire world is plunged into maddening shades of black and white!
All within the 30-foot cone before me must make a DC 18 Will save or panic for 8 rounds (or be shaken for 1 on a success), AND they all take a -2 penalty on that save!
That taken care of, he turns back to the urgent business of finishing the task of disentangling his strange tools, a painstaking project of black-on-black-on-black he appears, if only for a moment or two, to almost literally become absorbed into!

Aoi hands off Lt Riko's longspear to her familiar, who then proceeds to try to finish the mutated lieutenant off. The three honor guards hovering overhead do not appreciate the attempt, and stab at Aoi as she hands off the weapon--and then at the arbiter--with their own longspears. Both Aoi and the bronze orb takes several puncture wounds and the familiar clatters to the ground. Attempting a coup de grace is a full-round action that provokes attacks of opportunity, as is directly handing off a weapon to someone else--I'm counting it as "manipulate an item." And yes, the honor guards also have Combat Reflexes.
Meanwhile, Hekk makes quick work of the remaining honor guard to the south.
A moment later, Xasay wakes up from whatever he was doing and blasts the quartet of honor guards to the north with a fear spell--and then goes back to whatever shiny thing caught his eye the next moment.

Immediate action Emergency Force Sphere appears that shields Aoi, her familiar, and the soon-be-dead lieutenant, as Sputnik skewers Riko with longspear.
Per Wall of Force but hardness 20 and HP 80, block line of effect = no AoO. Unless their attacks penetrate Wall of Force then none of the attacks will hit or can be triggered.
Aoi cackles and watches the puny guards being powerless against the invisible wall, taking no damage.
"Hello? Why don't you attack us as we execute your lieutenant? What happen to your longspear and your funny combat reflex? Don't you care about your leader?"

The 8-foot-long longspear in she just passed into her familiar's hands is suddenly a lot less feasible as a weapon--in fact, the familiar loses its grip on the weapon and the longspear is shunted out of the sphere. Does the arbiter have another weapon it can use to attempt the coup de grace?
The mutant deserters, meanwhile, rage helplessly as their own longspears bounce off of the sphere of force. One deserter's cry of rage turns into a yelp of pain as Omar's javelin catches him in the back!
