One thing to note when looking at feats. Much like reaction feats, you can only use 1 flourish feat a round as well.

I like the idea of Swashbuckler archetype. It makes for a seamless overall character concept in this case. From a glance at them Fencer or Wit seems the best fit.

The reason I haven't really been considering it is the doubling up on precision damage. It seems like an awful lot of eggs in one basket. For example, with 1st ed. I'd never combine Investigator and Rogue because both depend on precision damage, leaving you well-screwed when something is immune to precision damage. Plus there's the need to create the two separate sets of conditions to get the extra damage. Is this less of an issue in 2e?

Precision damage stacks in 2E, unless specifically called out as not doing so. Big change in this edition.

If you look in the campaign tab, I think the GM just wants a block format for it for his own ease of use

It'll make more sense when I'm actually in combat. It helps me speed through it faster.

To clarify.

The thing that slows down pbp the most is combat.

So I have a way of doing it I promise will speed it up.

Part of that is me being able at a glance, without having to look up your last post, to see the things I need to.

So humor a dm who's been at it since 1975 ;) and doing pbp since the internet was made.

I'm sorry, GM -- I still cannot see anything but a giant black square in Roll20. Is it possible this is something wrong on my end, some setting in Roll20 that I need to fix? I haven't used this site in a few years.

ok Percy, try it now. Sidonia, you can check yours as well.

Lavielle, I think its all taken care of.

Reminder

so things I have to do before we start.
1. finish updating the towns folk in the campaign info town.
2. finish placing characters in the townsfolk list
3. finish working on the reputation information and put it in campaign information tab.
4. create character links in roll20--mostly done
5. make sure all character settings are good in roll20--working

what you need to do before we start.
1. finish your characters
2. put link to pathbuilder someplace I can find it.
3. create your combat summary.
4. let me know what you want used for icon on roll20 and make sure I have access to it.
5.join roll20.

No need to apologize. These names could be literally anything at this point, right?

Brahorm was 8 yrs old when he arrived. He lived(Lives?) with his aunt who's a herbalist. He wanted to be a Guardsman when he was young, that whole boys playing with swords thing. Eventually his natural inclination to protect shone through, and he caught the attention of agents of Sarenrae at the Cathedral.

Female Duskwalker Elf Fighter 1 (WoL)

young for an elf, but yeah, older sister. as an elf, siblings is something she wouldnt get easily

apparent age, 22, actual age, 112

hard to do the calculation.

shes about 122 when the game starts, normal elves mature, according to other elves, at 100+

so if a human is mature enough at 15, she should be around 22*, and would look like that for a while.

So even if the game starts when he is 18, she would be 122, but shes been looking 22 for a few years now :P this would go for the other characters too.

elven shenanigans, am i right?

In the ages section I added ('crunch'/flavor) for our ethnicities. Lavielle, will update your particular elven subraces. I do not recall off-hand if you already listed the elven ethnicity you are.

A list so we can see the comparable differences at who is better/worse at Perception and each skill as well as who speaks a specific language. Of course each character will know if they are better/worse at certain things only compared to certain other character(s) at campaign start.

Barbie's Sandpoint Lore is mostly gained by overheard conversations at The Hagfish, getting the latest gossip from the women at the Pixie's Kitten while styling the ladies' hair and tending to any wounds their clients inflicted on them.

OK. So, heres my take on things. This group, is all around the same 'apparent' age, and all know each other and hang out with each other from time to time.

Sidonia- when you first go here, you stayed up in the manor, but it quickly was far too boring, so you moved to the shipyard holdings and moved into an office there, making it your home....so to speak. You help ...a little with paperwork involved. and generally are on good terms with your cousin Belvin (who is a little serious for your take) and Jhalevia The Harbormaster. Who's always chiding you on becoming more involved in the town, and to not look down on the folks here as you do.

All of you are aware Belor (the sherrif) is sweet on Lady Kaye (The madam).
Belor was a shoanti barbarian who traipsed into town a few years ago on a blood vendetta tracking an enemy of his tribe. Fell hard for Kaye, and stayed, becoming a deputy at the garrison. He was there the night Stoot, the serial killer, killed the Sherrif and he brought Stoot down. He was nominated as the new Sherrif shortly after, and has been doing a good job.

Hes not on good terms with his brother Garriden, who runs the white hart, dont know why.

Lady Kaye is on bad terms with the local criminals...The Sczarni. (who are like a Gypsy Mafia)...you dont know them all, but do know Jubrayl who is always trying to persuade Lady Kaye to 'join' them.

The temple burnt down 5 years ago, they have rebuilding it during that time. The closest thing to a place of worship in those 5 years, was the chapel to Saranrae at Naffer Vosks home, on the outskirts of the boneyard.

Tomorrow during the Swallowtail festival, they consecrate the grounds of the new church. Abstilar Zanthus has come . hes new. not well respected yet. only been here about the last 6 months. Came from Maginmar. he has been in and out of town, while the temple was being built talking to the builders (who also came from Maginmar) He started coming here about 4 years ago, but it was only recently he came to stay.

The Town Council currently is
Mayor: Kendra Deverin
Founders Seat: Gaven Deverin
Founders Seat: Ethram Valdemar
Founders Seat: Lonjiku Kaijistsu
Founders Seat: Titus Scarnetti
Merchant Seat: Savah Bevaniky
Varisian Seat: Niska Mvashti

So for everyone else, Lavielle (Lavi) has a (not)obvious crush on one of the only other elves in the local area (as she tends to not stay/live in the town

I think it'll be funny if she thinks it's a secret, but it's pretty obvious to the rest of her friends (I know it's tropey)

Can I just say how excited I am to be a part of this?

So with the Temple burned down, Brahorm would likely be spending a lot of time assisting as he could, no? As a follower of Sarenrae, what does or should he know about Naffer Vosks, since he's the host of the temporary chapel to Sarenrae?

Naffer Vosk is a white haired gruff old man who doesnt talk about his past alot. By his pale look and sky blue eyes and his accent you know hes Jadwigan, from Irrisen, a country reputed to be run by evil witches....Rumors are that they are still after him.

Remember the temple is complete now, and in the last 6 months they were just doing the finishing touches to the place. Recently Lonjiku finished work on the stained glass windows. So Brahorm probably knows Abstalar as well as anyone in town. A quiet reserved man.

Lavielle has been assisting naffer Vosk with burials as long as you remember.

Everything is working for me in Roll20!

The majority of income Barbie earns working as the hair stylist at The Pixie's Kitten goes towards her room and board there. The majority of her earnings come from her wages and tips working at The Hagfish.

Barbie will not have Weapon Infusion at level 2 like I mentioned earlier in the week. She wil not acquire that feat until level 7. She instead will be gaining the Deflecting Wave reaction at 2nd level (which will be her only class-gained reaction (until higher levels).

GM: I am double-checking Barbie's PB sheet before adding in a link for it at the top of her profile page, and will finish getting set-up on Roll20 later today/tonight.

I will also have her combat summary posted in here (and at the top of her profile page) today.

GMMichael: Looking at the gear, would you agree with the following gear to emulate the cost/bulk of Barbie's hairstyling kit:

Disguise Kit (light bulk, 2 gold) [This small wooden box contains cosmetics, false facial hair, spirit gum, and a few simple wigs. You usually need a disguise kit to set up a disguise in order to Impersonate someone using the Deception skill. If you've crafted a large number of disguises, you can replenish your cosmetics supply with replacement cosmetics suitable for the type of your disguise kit. You can draw and replace a worn disguise kit as part of the action that uses it.

(my suggestion awaiting approval) A hair-styling kit includes hair-cutting scissors*, combs, brushes and tiny metal vials (1 shampoo, 1 conditioner and 1 hair dye) inside the bag, with three external vial holders attached to the outside of the bag. Typically hair sylists will use the three vial holders to hold metal vials, each with a different color hair dye.

* These professional hair-cutting scissors would be an improvised weapon if used in combat, as they were designed for snipping hair, not combat.

Disguise Kit (replacement cosmetics) (negligible bulk, 1 silver) [To represent costs of replacing three vials (be it shampoo, condition and 1 vial of hair dye or three vials of hair dye)]

I paid full-price for her shears weapon (light bulk, 5 silver). So she has two pairs of shears (her standard non-combat cutting shears and the more sturdy-crafted (combat) shears).

Her (combat) shears (not the hair-cutting shears from the hair-styling kit) was a gift from her (quarter elven) grandmother (that works at a brothel in Riddleport), her mother and Kaye, which Barbie's grandmother commissioned a crafter in Riddleport to make. Her mother and Kaye surprised Barbie with the commission-crafted shears on her sweet 16 birthday. She was thrilled! Those shears have been her prized possession ever since.

@GM: With your okay I would like the gifted shears to be the following:

A silver religious symbol is a level 0 item that costs 2 gold and has light bulk. As it is level 0 item it does not count as being a (level 2) low-grade silver item.

Silver-handled hair-cutting shears with the blades engraved as follows:

Outside of one blade: Barbethany (in Varisian script).

Outside of other blade: Barbie (in Varisian script).

Inside of blade that has Barbethany on the outside: Rivers (in Varisian script).

Inside of blade that has Barbie on the outside, in smaller script in two lines so the words fit on the blade:

first line: With love from (in Varisian script).

second line: Nana, Mom & Kaye (in Varisian script).

Bumping the cost of the gifted scissors to 25 silver (base 5 silver, 2 gold for silver handles and personalized script).

Champion 1 | AC 17 | HP 22 / 22 | saves +8 +4 +5 | Perception +3 | Hero Points 1 | Reaction: Glimpse of Redemption

Still pretty new to Roll20.
Is there something I should be doing after creating my sign on? Just getting blackscreen where the map should be...or is, but hidden.

If you followed my link above to join the game, nothing until I link the icon to you then I give it vision.

Are the silver-handled engraved shears approved?

Barbie's PB sheet
It includes the silver-handled engraved shears (as a custom item), along with custom items for the hair stylist's toolkit and hair stylist's toolkit (replacement vials). I also created custom items for her dolls (which are items on AoN but not in PB. I also discovered purchasing a sack gives 5 sacks on PB, so I adjusted the number of sacks down to 1.

Some tricks for using Pathbuilder to track certain gear your character owns.

For stuff that is left at home create a container called "at home", "bedroom", etc. and select the bag of holding option for that container.

For the 2 bulk of tools you can carry on your person for quick access (not requiring an extra action to retrieve the item as you use it) create a container called "worn tools" and do not click either of the bag of holding or backpack option. You want to make sure the tools/replacement tools you have in the 'worn tools container' does not exceed 2 bulk.

You can do the same thing to track contents of different containers you have on you as well. Use the notes section to note where your coins are if they are not all in your coin belt pouch.

* *

The clothing Barbie has on in the Hero Forge mini is her 'work uniform' (explorer's clothing) she wears at The Hagfish. She keeps her silver-handled engraved shears tucked in behind the flap of yellow clothing held in place by the two thin red belts wrapped around her stomach. The blades of the shears are fully concealed and are parallel to the twin belts with the top of the silver handles in view when they are tucked securely against her stomach that way (she draws/stores the shears with her left hand).

Her 7 sets of oridinary clothes, her set of cold weather clothes, her single set of fine clothes, her doll collection (9 normal dolls and 1 suprise doll), backpack and sack are in her bedroom. She stores her prized possession (silver-handled engraved shears) inside of the surprise doll while she is asleep.

Her sweet 16 gift was the surprise doll with the silver-handled engraved shears hidden inside when her mom and Kaye gave her the gift, and after waiting a minute as Barbie feigned being as excited as she used to be for getting dolls from her grandmother on her birthday for the past nine years, both Kaye and Trixie told to look inside the doll...and upon finding the shears, Barbie's face up lit up into a huge smile.

Yes the shears are fine.

so more info for the players.

Who's always chiding you on becoming more involved in the town, and to not look down on the folks here as you do.

Good deal she's out of that boring old house. That will save a bunch of trouble sneaking in and out. With great effort she could probably do a little paperwork without dying from it.

One thing I'll amend. Does Sidonia think everything I've written concerning her? You betcha. Does she say that stuff out loud? Nope. That's the difference between a 10 and a 16 charisma. She gets nothing out of putting people down. Besides, her superiority is so apparent she doesn't need to comment on it.

No no, she's a bridge builder, all honey, no vinegar. Unless she needs to turn the vinegar on for some specific reason. As far as Sandpoint residents in general are concerned, Sidonia's demeanor is pleasant, approachable, and friendly enough. She might complain here and there, or occasionally say something that she probably shouldn't have, but she can make time for people she doesn't care for much. After all, until her sentence to Sandpoint is over, all she has is time. Besides, good bahavior might shorten her sentence.

What she hasn't done so much is find or assemble a group she runs with. She's sort of non-aligned in town, a bit distant.
